I have been trading clothes here since about high school. It is a hit and miss every time I go in, regardless it is always worth looking around! I have some great stuff from here and have traded some great stuff and got an awesome deal on it!
They have a great mix of vintage and current clothing, wide range of men's and woman's! The staff is very helpful, and Venus the manager a a joy to talk to!Listed in: Best dressed.

I finally got around to going to Arizona Trading Company last week. I feel like a fool for not visiting sooner. This is a great place with a good mix of vintage and newly-lightly used clothes (I'd say about 30%/70% ratio).
Anyway, I wandered in and decided to see what they have. I found the prices to be quite reasonable, especially for the vintage items. More than reasonable actually, which is unusual considering how many places jack up the prices for vintage clothes.
I ended up trying on several things but unfortunately I suffered from Goldilocks syndrome on this day - everything was too big or too small, with nothing being *just right*. For shame. The one thing I found a little odd is that they lock up the dressing room curtains and you have to ask staff to unlock it to try things on. My irrational conclusion is that they're scared you'll make off with the dressing room curtains.
Reading the other reviews, I've got to say I didn't experience any attitude. None of the staff was fawning all over me but I don't need that, and actually hate that. I found them to be friendly and not rude, but again, I've just been there once at this point. -

I base this review mostly on the customer service of ATZ. I have been going to ATZ since I was a college kid in Lawrence and ATZ was new to the scene. I'm glad they are around and you can find some good stuff every now and again if you go in on a regular basis.
The one consistent with ATZ has always been the service. It's always been mediocre to poor. Tons of attitude and not very friendly. I understand wanting to have a "hip" space and concept, I just wish they could smile and be friendly while providing service. I guess all I want is for them to be really cool.....with a smile. It's amazing that year after year they seem to find the same kind of sales associates, I need to see an application and see what qualities they want cause they seem to find the same ones time and time again.
One more thing, if you are going to be a "cool" resale shop, stop buying Old Navy product!Listed in: Bottom of the Barrel, Westport Spots, "I've been used!!!"

Hmm... Maybe I'm spoiled with the great vintage shops around my house, but Arizona Trading Company was nothing special, IMHO. Cool concept, cool-looking shop and nice employees, but the merchandise was not anything special.
Most of what was available when I stopped in was discarded H&M and Forever 21 merchandise. A few vintage pieces were on the racks, but a lot of it was stained or damaged. Found a cute pair of red jeans but the zipper was broken (and no, I didn't break it!).
And the items were not treated with much TLC in the store, either. I've been to other vintage shops where the owners are constantly updating the racks or making sure the right sizes were together, but it didn't seem like much of that was happening the day I was there.
Great location and concept, just not terribly impressive when you step inside and look a little bit closer.Listed in: Kansas City Here I Come!

I had a vintage fetish back in the day. I still try to keep growing my t-shirt collection but it's a tough go these days without resorting to Ebay. Arizona trading company is good. It's insanely good for you vintage freaks and people who don't need billboards and mags to define your style. You're probably asking "How's prices, J.J.?". Prices are stupid-good (I use that phrase from time to time). I literally could of walked out of there with an H&M V-Neck and this rockin' white hoodie for about $20.00, both amazing pieces that I started to tear up over after I decided against it.
Customer service was ok. I was greeted upon arrival by some funky girl with a scarf in her hair (major cool points for her look). While browsing for 20 minutes, nobody came out on the floor to say hi which was a little sombering.
Coolest detail? Glad you asked. Their policies for trading clothes and paying for merchandise are located on these banners that hang from the ceiling and look to be hand done. WAY COOL. I think all policies should be in friendly writing where everyone can see them with smiley faces or something. It's completely consumer friendly. The selection of jeans and jackets is killer and even I felt out of place with all the cool patrons and that makes me happy. -

I heart ATC. About once a month I pull a bag of clothes from my closet, drop it off on the counter, and browse my little heart out. Usually have enough trade to get 2-3 new things to take home. I've found stuff to wear out and around town, stuff to wear to work, and stuff to wear to a theme party. I score all my jeans at ATC - most recently a vintage pair of high-waisted Levi flares. Perfect place to spend an hour browsing the racks, not so perfect for those preferring the more sterile retail conglomerates.

Trade, whether fair and free or not, is the very root and inevitable future of the world's system of exchange. Historically, it's potential to generate wealth from waste has inspired world-encompassing conquests. Today, it inspires Kansas City's consumers to recycle their old garments and accessories, and there's no better place to do so than Arizona Trading Company.
ATC, as it is known to its regulars, is a fun a friendly boutique that sits snugly in the heart of Westport. Here, you can bring in your lightly-used garments, and one of the store's pleasant and personable staff members will filter through them while you shop. Anything of yours that the store wishes to keep is redeemable for a percentage of its value in either store credit or cash.
Store credit is the way to go if you're a fan of vintage fashions. It will be larger in dollar value than the cash offer you receive, and it makes widening your wardrobe that much more affordable. Cash is good, too, when you need a quick buck, and I hear they take that stuff just about anywhere. No matter your preference, you'll need to bring your ID if you're hoping to collect on either option.
I personally patronize ATC when I'm looking for jeans, shoes, sweaters or accessories, and I've never gone home empty-handed. I feel good about purchasing from ATC, because I know that I am aiding in their effort to reuse. This place makes it easy to buy second-hand without having to rummage through rejects and refuse.
ATC is quite kind when it comes to their trade policies, but they have serious standards for quality and appropriateness. I suggest popping in to check out their selection before you start hauling in last season's leftovers. Chances are you'll leave with something that's brand new to you, and you'll wonder how you ever lived without it before.Listed in: Midtown's Best ReUse Clothing…

This is a great place to find used clothing in good condition. In my opinion, the location in Lawrence has more vintage items, but this store also has a great selection.
There are always some unique finds every time I go; from a black leather purse with hot pink ribbon on it to some kickin' cowboy boots, there is always something I want to buy.
The prices are really reasonable as well; ATC is not one of t hose thrift/vintage stores that jack up their prices now that thrift store shopping is 'cool' or 'in style'. Besides clothing, they also usually have some awesome jewelry, accessories, and buttons/pins for your bookbag.
The staff is always really friendly and laid-back as well. I love coming here when I need a few items, but don't want to spend a lot. -

I have mixed feelings about Arizona trading company. Sometimes i go there and walk out with a bag full of clothes and sometimes I'm really unimpressed. I agree with the fact that they have tons of attitude. I live in midtown and have been going there since i was 13 years old. (which was a long time ago) and even though i would consider myself a regular there every time i am still met with an "I'm better than you" attitude which is really why i stopped going there. There is one girl who has ever been nice to me, Venus, i believe she is the manager of some sort. She smiled and was very friendly and i appreciate that. The clothes are definitely over priced sometimes. I'm not going to pay 20$ for a used t-shirt..i dont care what the label says. If the girls who worked there would just smile occasionally id probably still go there.

ATC has some good stuff, and mostly good bargains! Sometimes I think they overprice items from places like Forever 21 or Old Navy (which is already cheap to buy new), but they do have designer stuff every once in a while that is marked way down. I bought a really cute Free People blouse today for $17 that I'm sure was originally at least $50-60. Fun place to find something unique--they also have fun vintage stuff and good costume ideas for theme parties!

Buy, sell and trade your cool digs. I love this place because there is such a huge selection of cool threads to choose from and I can always sell my clothes I don't wear anymore. Trendy? I don't think so.. You won't see Abercrombie here.

ATC has trendy used and new clothing at reasonable prices. They also have lots of cute accessories. (Purses, sunglasses, jewelry, shoes, etc.) They have a wide selection of jeans that are well organized by size. Venus and her staff make you feel at home from the moment you walk in the door.
