Father time seems to be gaining some ground on this 31 year old. I have been a fairly competitive athlete my entire life. There has never been a time in my life when I wasn't playing on an organized team of some sort. I have also been very lucky to come out of all these years unscathed. Until about a month ago.
I started playing soccer 2 times a week and had been playing ice hockey 2 times a week for about a year. One day I woke up and my back didn't quite feel, right. So later that day it was unbearable and asked my father, who has had back problems his whole life, for a recommendation for a chiropractor. He quickly told me Dr. Pete at Arizona Spinal Care will get me fixed up.
I called for an appointment the same day and was able to get in right away. Huge bonus. When I met Dr. Pete he went over my symptoms with me and set out a reasonable therapy timeline. Turns out my sciatic nerve was being put under pressure by some muscle in my rather large ass. So, we started with deep tissue and some electric stimulation of the muscle. Let me tell you, the deep tissue gives you that feeling of stop that hurts, but it feels so good. Subsequent visits included the same treatments, along with some stretching and core work. We did go over the initial timeline of 4-5 visits, but I didn't help things by continuing with my athletic pursuits.
After my final treatment, the muscle in my ass felt great and I had no pain in my back at all. Is it fitting that what some people have complimented me on became my Achilles' Heel? Or am I just like Achilles, an epic hero of mythology? Probably not. Dr. Pete, Chris, and Krystal were all great in helping me to recover. Very flexible scheduling and great hours.

First visit was great; dr and staff were very friendly. Going back next week to continue therapy :) to be continued...
I've been a few times now, and I beleive I'm starting to feel the benefits!
