I've been using Arizona Shuttle off and on for 8 years. It's not perfect but it gets the job done and the last few times I've used them they'd really seemed to have upgraded their vehicles. The last time I rode it the vehicle was actually a 24 person bus. It was really spacious but it didn't have seatbelts which did feel a bit scary driving down the death trap that can be I-10.
They're timely aside from unavoidable traffic delays on I-10 and offer a shuttle every hour for most of the day.
It can feel pricey and unglamorous but when I need them I'm glad they're there.

These people are jerks.   I wasn't sure whether my hosts in Flagstaff could take me to the AMTRAK station or not, and called at the last minute for home pickup.   They said I missed the cutoff deadline to ask for home pickup, 6pm the night before.  I checked my cellphone and I called at 6:01pm.   ONE MINUTE late.   No issue of out-of-sync clocks either, since cellphones always have the correct time.   Sheesh ...

Sounds like a good deal.  $33 for a one-way trip from UA to Sky Harbor (or the other way).

They have two types of vehicles for this trip, a large chartered bus or a van.  Both vehicles have a separate luggage holding container, the van drags luggage behind it in a trailer and the bus stores it underneath.  Of these two choices, the van is the better option, but they don't give you an option, you're stuck with what they show up in.  Whichever you get, it'll be jam packed with other people.  They treat the service like sheep herding, get on quickly, get off quickly, don't ask questions, just do it.

They don't maintain their equipment very well, and of the 3 times I've used the service, a tire has blown on two of the trips.  This prompted a mini-vacation on the side of the freeway.  It also caused me to miss my flight twice.  After calling customer service to complain they granted a free pass.

The service is not enjoyable and I would only recommend it to my out-of-town guests that I don't like very much are too poor to actually fly into the correct Arizona airport.

Is the sound of voices other than your own annoying to you?  And are you too dumb to travel with an iPod or earplugs?  Is riding in a van with strangers for 2 hours beneath a superior being such as yourself?   Then the Arizona shuttle is not for you.   Hire a limo to take you to PHX so you don't have to associate with the peasant rabble.

For those who want to get to PHX with only a few stops for 30ish bucks this is the deal.   Have ridden and would ride again.  On time.   Clean.  Free water.

A bloody rip off, I've taken this from UA to Sky Harbor Phoenix/Sky Harbor Phoenix to UA over the years,  hundreds of times, & all those times, it was a miserable experience.

You're crammed in with a bunch of rude, inconsiderate, selfish idiots, stuffed in like sardines.  The last time we were stopped on the highway out of Phoenix by the stupid highway patrol because a "baby snatcher" was thought to be on our van, that cost us 2 hrs.

There's always a damned "talker" on the van who yaps all the way.  Bring a book or pretend to sleep.  Oh, they don't give you water either so you'll be dehydrated in the heat.  Once I got a lousy little cup of water.  If you've just come in from Mexico to Sky Harbor Phoenix & still have diarrhea/digestive symptoms, it's not fun riding in claustrophobic conditions w/out a toilet or toilet break.

    One Way
Book at least 1 day prior to  departure  $32.99
    Same-day travel $42.99

    $65.98 Roundtrip

    Greyhound
    One Way
    $26.25

Not much savings & Greyhound sucks as well, they missed me at Phoenix/Sky Harbor a few times & I've had to sleep there.

The best thing to do is just pay one of your pals to take you or stuff yourself into a suitcase & mail yourself to Phoenix, cheaper too.

I needed to get to Tucson from Flagstaff and this was a very good option. I had a nice trip on the shuttle. The driver was very friendly and although the trip was a little longer than I expected (because of stops along the way) overall I think this is a great service and I would certainly use it again!

In would give this company zero stars if that were available.  My young  son and I were coming into Phoenix from London.  Our flight was delayed and we were exhausted.  I had reserved space on a shuttle that should have given us plenty of lead time but with the flight getting in late we only had 15 minutes. We ran to the shuttle, and there it sat, mostly empty. I thought oh, lucky day.  But no...I was told that because it was only 5 minutes until departure, our names weren't on the "list".  This despite the fact that I had prepaid for these seats.   I asked how  to get on the list.  I was told it's in the drivers hand in a sealed envelope that is "forbidden" by federal law to be opened.   No matter how much I begged and pleaded, the shuttle sat in front of us for the 5 minutes before leaving my son and I standing on the sidewalk .  When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told "we don't have managers".  I made a complaint to this company and never got so much as a phone call.  I would never use this company or recommend  them to even my worst enemy.

Business Mistake #1 - Never call a customer STUPID! I guess I'm not surprised to see so many poor reviews of this company. I have used them before with no problem until this week. I can understand not allowing for refunds but their policy of no date changes on the day of travel just does not make sense. I was scheduled to fly into Sky Harbor the other day on a buddy pass from JFK and was pretty much guaranteed a seat on the plane. Because of this i went ahead and booked a seat on the shuttle. Well it turned out that i could not get on my flight after all and Arizona Shuttle basically told me i was out the $40 that i gave them. Not only that, they basically told me i was STUPID to reserve a seat on the shuttle while flying standby. I don't understand why they do that, the shuttle is already at the airport anyway picking up other passengers. Would it be so difficult to allow stranded travelers to reuse on another day? Poor customer service with a bad attitude. Now instead i will give my friends gas money to pick me up. I am hoping to get this money back through my credit card but nonetheless this company has officially lost a customer.

This company just bought Open Road Tours, a shuttle service that operated out of Flagstaff.  I relied on Open Roads for years and experienced wonderful service, and a relaxed ride with spacious tour bus vehicles.  My first trip with this new company was for the Thanksgiving holiday.  Left the Flagstaff pick up destined for Sky Harbor, sardined into a 14 passenger van that was hot, smelly, and way too close for comfort.  (A note to fellow riders, please don't bring snacks that smell like feet, seriously, exhibit a little bit of courtesy for others.)  I get really pissed off at drivers who think they know all sorts of short cuts around the airport and end up wasting time.  Now I realize that this is the norm for such shuttles, but not when we were so used to what we had with Open Roads.  The return trip from Sky Harbor was on a giant charter bus because of the holidays which was nicer space wise but we had a driver who didn't know where he was going because they sent him up with crappy directions.

This company sucks!  It's not worth $70 round trip.  Try every other option before you have to use this shuttle service.  I know that it was my only trip with them, and my last with the dear departed Open Roads.

They handed out little water bottles on my trip, but don't drink too much if you have bladder issues, because they don't make rest stops. Extremely cramped seating in the van, but it gets you there more or less on time... The drivers were nice, but the desk employees seem a little disgruntled with their work.

$33 from Tucson to Sky Harbor (Phoenix) seems like a good deal to me, although I should look into taking Greyhound also...  They have 3 pickup locations in Tucson, and the one at Ina is pretty decent.  They have an indoor waiting area, and there is a staffer there who was nice enough to put me on the shuttle one before the one that I had booked.  I can believe the review that it's crowded and noisy, as it's a 15 passenger van with a trailer for your luggage.  There were signs about "using technology in a respectful way" but that was about it.  Cheap, on-time, safe.  I would ride again.  Free enclosed parking too, with a barbed wire fence around the lot...

I was seriously considering hiring this company to do a shuttle service for a wedding. I was initially troubled by the long delay in response to my inquiry from their Business Development Manager but they were recommended by someone else for reliability, so I continued to look into it. Because of their 2 or 3 hour minimum on shuttle rentals though, you may have to spend twice (or more) the amount of money than you want to for time you during which they wouldn't be doing providing any service. When I expressed hesitation over this, and the need for a more prompt reply, I was told by that same manager that it would be in neither of our interests to pursue this. No problem!
