Review from Steve G.
Los Altos Hills, CA
Just came back from 8 days on a motor trip down the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon. It was FANTASTIC! Azra did a great job. Our skipper/leader was Ed Hanne. Ed is AWESOME! This was trip 190+ for him, he new everything. Food is outrageously good, we had Ed's wife Sandra with us working and Brian. What a great team. The Grand Canyon speaks for itself, if you ever get a chance to go, you must! Thinking about a trip to the Grand Canyon, AZRA is the company, and Ed is the man.
Specialties
Rafting in Grand Canyon on the Colorado River. We specialize in running multi-day all inclusive trips. Our active trips are focused on hiking and exploring the Grand Canyon. We believe a Grand Canyon rafting trip is about so much more than whitewater and we strive to share with and show our guests the other wonders to be had while in the bottom of Grand. Our adventure tours are 6-16 days long, traversing the first 89 miles, second 136 miles or the full 225 miles of the canyon. Our trips give one enough time to see more of the canyon. Make the most of the trip of a lifetime and take the time to come play with us!
History
Established in 1974
Rafting the Colorado River through Grand Canyon is something my husband and I are both incredibly passionate about--both of our families dipped our feet in the water of the Colorado before we were a year old. I am a third generation Grand Canyon boater and outfitter. My dad, Rob Elliott, and his dad, Lou Elliott, first ran the Grand Canyon in 1965. My parents bought the operation from my grandparents in 1974 and changed the name to Arizona Raft Adventures (AzRA). My husband is a second generation Grand Canyon boater and manager. His father, Paul Thevenin, ran his first Grand Canyon trip in 1962. Running river trips in Grand Canyon is something that comes naturally to us, and it's something we both love; we took over AzRA management in 2007, and bought the company from my dad in 2008. We hope our guests will come to love AzRA's Grand Canyon trips as much as we do.
