My review is going to be different from the previous reviewer's for one major reason . . . I have kids. I don't mind if things are nice and pleasant for them. In fact, that's what I want. They still believe in Santa and the Tooth fairy, so I'd like to keep them nice and unjaded for as long as I possibly can. They'll be a time and place for the rest. For now I don't care if they think everyone in history has been nice.
That said, there's a city-wide scavenger hunt thing going on this summer. My kids were going stir-crazy in the house, so we've decided to hit as many scavenger hunt locations as we can. This was our first stop.
I have to admit that kids might be bored here other than at the second floor. The fact that my kids were on a mission to find things made them really entertained. I must also add that kids 12 and under go in for free and adults only pay $5. There's a "mine" in here, but it's pretty dark in there. We only went in one quick time because of the monsters that hide in there. On the second floor, there's all sorts of interactive things for the kids. They get to try on some clothes, see a old ranch replica, pretend to bake bread, iron and make food, carry a water jug on their head, pretend to go shopping in an old mercantile, all sorts of things.
I was very pleasantly surprised by this place. Here's the link for the scavenger hunts going on around town. It will really give kids something to do during summer break and might help some parents keep their sanity . . . . .

Anyone thinking this is actual  "history" needs their head examined, instead, expect an ode to the past days when white men could inflict terrible damage to the natural surrounding of Arizona incl wiping out native settlements in the quest for greed.  Inside you'll find white washed history, no mention of indigenous people, except to state that they were "blood thirsty savages who attacked mail routes", memorials & other trinket memorabilia devoted to an idiotic past.

Reminds me of a warped museum for the dumb crowds.

It's fun if you are under 12 though, has a nice dark cave inside.
