Arigato is the only place that I can find good sushi in Upland. I always order the same things : Spicy Tuna Nachos & a Baked Lobster roll. Why mess with perfection? The spicy tuna nachos are to die for. Seaweed covered in tempura batter topped with a generous portion of spicy tuna and drizzled with sauces? Come on, how can you resist that? But my favorite part has got to be the lobster roll. The base roll is just a california roll which doesn't seem that impressive. What's amazing is the baked lobster on top. It is actually crawfish, but it is so good that I don't care. There is tons of it too! So rich and creamy and the lemony green sauce makes it taste even better. Honestly, I compare every roll to this one and they normally come up short.

Unsatisfactory service was bland no excitement in anyone working here and they just opened for the day. Sushi was ok I've gone to way better sushi places in upland. I won't be coming here again.

This is a solid little sushi spot. Not my favorite but definitely will go back as it is close to my office. The sushi nacho things are really good and most of the other reviews are pretty spot on.

I'm not that impressed with the place. Sure, the service was good. But I have had better Chirashi at Sushi Area 909.

I had been going here since theyve opened. Just went back last week and had a horrible experience. I ordered the bento box special and a spicy tuna roll. The tuna had a funny texture, it was really slick. Almost like they added oil to it and it tasted really fatty. I always get extra sumi salad and i could barely eat it because it was so peppery. About an hour later my friend text me and said she wasnt feeling too good after we ate and was using the bathroom. Once she told me that my stomach wasnt doing too well either. The one thing we both had the same was the spicy tuna. So with that being said, take a trip further up foothill to vineyard and go to Yatai instead! everything there is amazing! Sorry Arigato but youve gone downhill...

"I!.....want a lobster roll tonightttttt.... And eat it everyday!"
Great food...good service. Never too busy.
The baked lobster roll is dope, as is everything I've had there. The bento can hit and miss on occasion, but shit, just get a baked green mussel to make it so it doesn't matter how chewy your beef teriyaki is!
Keep an eye out for the "Kelly Family" on Fridays. You can't miss 'em! ;) -

So we look through here & see that fellow Yelper Felicia mentioned that they had AYCE, so we decided it was close to home and went for it.
We walked in, followed by 3 other people. The place was full, except for 4 tables. There were 2 young waiters running around. Nobody acknowledged us, even though we were just standing there. Nobody acknowledged the 3-member family behind us, either. Well, I mean, the cook did see us but that's about it.
So 5 minutes later, we're still all just standing there. I look back at the family, and they look at us and raise their eyebrows. I tell my boyfriend to just go because we're clearly never going to even get a hello.
FINALLY, the waitress mumbles something about seating us soon, and so we tell her that it's just for 2 people. She then comes up to us (omg she FINALLY saw us?!) and says "wait, you're not a party of 5? I was going to seat you together! How embarrassing!" She then covered her face with the menus. So I said that she could have avoided that by asking us how many we had in our party, or at least have acknowledged us.
Then the waiter cleaned a table for us and we sat down. We looked at the menu, but saw no AYCE. He brought us water and wanted to take our order right off the bat. I asked if they had AYCE and he said no and walked away. So we came back on Yelp and looked up other sushi bars and left.
Bad service, short staffed...but the food didn't look too bad. Guess I will never know. -

Came to this restaurant on a Monday at 11:15 and the Closed sign was on. Walked up to the restaurant and it said they opened at 11 so we walked in. The waitress said they were actually not going to open until 11:30 today so sorry. No offers to sit down and she'd get us a drink. Poor training for their staff and if the sign says 11, don't try to open at 11:30. I've come here many times and I love the food, but the service is always bad.

My pop found this place by his house and it has now become our spot for sushi. @ Foothill and Euclid in the shopping center on the southwest corner.
Appetizers:
-Seared Ahi is really good nice Cajun seasoning on the outer edge,
-they have these sushi nachos which are a bit addicting only downside is there are never enough on the plate.
Rolls
There is a calamari roll that is crazy good. The breading they use on their calamari is different then any other I've tasted and its soooo good.
Lots of good rolls to try. Good selection and variety
Service is exceptional.
I haven't tried the sushi bar yet so..... to be continued -

Terrible food. Arigato Sushi used to be really good when they first opened. The past few times I have eaten there, the beef and chicken teriyaki have been very dry and tough - I couldn't even eat it a few days ago. It is the last time I will eat there unless they really improve the food quality. Yuck!

Review from Daryl I.
I had the chance to finally eat here, after hearing about how good it was from my friends, Kimberly S and Bill W. Also, my parents really like going here as well. But for me, it was just okay, which I hate to say. I had a bento dinner, with chicken teriyaki and tempura, California roll, rice and salad for under $10. It was pretty good, but not good enough for me to make a special drive to this place.
I admit that Kimberly said that sushi is this place's strong suit, and I really didn't have sushi (I don't consider rolls to be a true indicator of a sushi bar's quality of fish), so to be fair, I need to make another visit and give it a try.
As Kimberly described, the service was pretty good, and they are still in the midst of the remodel, so just be aware of it. -

I've been here easily 20+ times since I've moved away from the area. My father is a regular here (at least once a week) and turned me on to Arigato a couple years ago.
Every time I walk in I'm welcomed with a great greeting from Sean, Jeff and the rest of the staff. Service is attentive and if requested they will whip you a surprise off-the-menu appetizer (I love the spicy tuna nachos and baked mussels).
They have something for everyone (even the none sushi eater). Personally I love their lobster rolls, albacore rolls, and bento plates (beef and chicken). Better yet they are willing to work with you if you ask to substitute some items in the bento plate.
Conclusion: Great food, good portion sizes, inviting atmosphere and the price is right... Now just waiting from them to get their liquor license. -

The Mister and I were pleased to see that business is going so well that they've expanded ... their dining room is now more than twice the size and they have a small stage area set up for live music. Not too shabby.
The food and sushi is good, not sensational, but fresh and substantial. Don't know if I would make a special trip just to eat here at Arigato, but if I was in the area I would definately swing by. -

Rialto, CA
They've expanded so its a lot nicer inside the place than before. One thing they have that not alot of sushi places have these days; stability. I think the same people own it that were here in '06.
The food is served in generous portions and the sushi is pretty good. The chefs are nice and I've never had a bad waitress here. The whole experience is usually pretty good.
I recommend it if you want food + sushi. Its good :) -

Ok, I have PROS & CONS about this place... Let's start with the GOOD STUFF: 1.) The servers are super sweet 2.) The baked mussels are to die for 3.) It's NEVER crowded 4.) The customers are really friendly 5.) The service is pretty quick.
NOW the NOT SO GOOD STUFF:
1.) The cooks NEVER greet you when you walk in like at other sushi joints IF you aren't a "REGULAR" but that SHOULDN'T matter.. If they do greet you, it's sullen and lazy, like they don't want to. We've been 4 times, and he's NEVER crowded enough to forget our group or ANYONE else. 2.) The last time we went our Baked Salmon roll fell completely apart, they stuck to the foil they baked it in, so it was a big DISASTER. 3.) Sometimes the Baked Lobster rolls are a little greasy. 4.) The servers as swwet as they are, know NOTHING about the wines or Beers. You CAN'T sell me on an "I don't know" OR I'm not sure" 5.) They never bring extra plates to the table and lastly, which is my biggest reiterated "THE COOKS NEVER GREET YOU".
So, as much as I LOVE the Baked Mussels I find better service and food @ OKAWA in Rancho Cucamonga, and although I live 4 blocks from Arigato, I won't go back to a restaurant who doesn't give the same GREETINGS, RESPECT and APPRECIATION to EVERYONE whether it be their FIRST visit or their MILLIONTH.
YOU WANT GOOD FOOD... GO HERE
YOU WANT GOOD FOOD AND SERVICE GO TO OKAWA IN RANCHO. -

Great sushi place! I have been there three times so far, the sushi and tempura are excellent, the prices are reasonable. the seating and decor could be better, but it is a little place so how much more could they do to it, you know? Oh and now they closed down.

What an unexpected gem! This place used to be a cozier, but since the remodeling it's gotten even nicer.
I was surprised to find how fresh the sushi is and the prices are more than fair for what you get. All their appetizers are delicious.. and I would def suggest starting off with some. Lol, my mouth just watered.
The owner is really nice and is willing to get to know you and welcome you back- friendly service is always a plus! -

This restaurant is subpar to say the least. The food are very mediocre for the price. If you want to eat good sushi, go somewhere else. If you want to feel like getting cheated and eat crappy fast food sushi, here's the place for you. Customer beware!!
