We could not have been happier with Owen from Aria Melody DJ! When we first met Owen for coffee to discuss the music for our wedding, we immediately felt like he understood us as a couple. Before getting into specifics, we spent some time getting to know each other and talking about our favorite bands. His laid-back, personable demeanor made us feel like we were hanging out with a friend rather than meeting with a vendor. We had some very specific requests but we were also looking for suggestions, and Owen recommended songs that fit in perfectly with our playlist.
On our wedding day, we were very impressed with Owen's professionalism and ability to seamlessly transition between each part of our reception. During dinner, he played all of the songs that we had requested and mixed in a few of his own. We were amazed that Owen's selections were some of our favorite songs! He knew our personal style so well that we could just relax and enjoy the wedding without worrying about the music.
During the dancing portion of the night, Owen did an incredible job blending well known pop songs with some of our more obscure selections. He kept the party going on the dance floor the entire night, and our guests could not stop raving about him. After the wedding, many of our friends told us Owen was "the best DJ they'd ever heard!"
We cannot stress enough how positive our experience was with both Owen and John from Aria Melody DJ. There are many difficult tasks that go along with planning a wedding, but working with Aria is not one of them. Make your life easier and book them NOW! -

Choosing a DJ for our wedding felt like a huge undertaking: the mood of our reception seemed at stake as we were throwing a party for our nearest and dearest, and choosing a soundtrack for the most important commitment of our lives.
Then we met John from Aria Melody DJ, and everything changed. Right away, we knew we'd found a consummate professional and the perfect DJ for our wedding. John is a pleasure to work with, expertly versed in music, creative and intuitive in putting together playlists, and he executed a flawless evening for us.
There's a reason that Aria Melody is consistently rated 5 stars across wedding sites: John is a talented, top-notch DJ who brings class and elegance to his work. Book him right this second. -

We hired Aria Melody DJ for our recent wedding.
John was PHENOMENAL from the time we booked until the end of our wedding.
- Communication was smooth and efficient.
- He took the time to get to know what we wanted and delivered.
- We gave him a long list of songs to play at the reception (that's what happens when you start jotting down songs a year and a half before your wedding!)... but indicated that they were only suggestions. He played some of our suggested songs, but put his own creative spin and injected other songs. We have been to so many weddings where the DJ plays the song from beginning to end and then awkwardly plays the next song. John blended the songs so that the transitions were perfect. No awkwardness! He played a good mix so that the older and younger generations had a good time.
- We ran late, and even though he had plans afterwards, he stayed and kept people on the dancefloor.
- True to his word, there were NO gimmicks (i.e. no macarena, electric slide), and there was NO signage.
I would HIGHLY recommend Aria Melody to any couple who wants their guests to have a good time at their wedding. -

I've personally worked with John twice now over the past two years and both times I've been impressed with his style and professionalism. Aria Melody brings some class to being a wedding dj.. there's no yelling into the microphone or making cheesy jokes. He plays good music and gets the crowd going without a fog machine. I've already recommended a bunch of couples to his website, and will continue to do so.

John is a bit of a renaissance man, a throwback to the times when DJ's played good music and the event was about the people and not the DJ.
We had been torn between a band or a DJ for our wedding. It had little to do with cost bit more to do with us wanting an event where the DJ was only noticed because people never left the dance floor as opposed to for his smoke machine and strobe lights.
We hired John for our wedding a few years back and from the moment we met him, it was obvious that our wedding would be about us and John more than delivered. From the moment the dance floor filled up, it never emptied until the lights came on. We could not have asked for anything more. This fella is top rate class act. He's honest and genuinely concerns himself with your event and what you want - and he delivers. He also has a knack for songs that keep you guessing - whether it's the latest hit or an off beat old faithful that had been collecting dust for years - the guy just makes it work.
I will surely hire John for my next wedding. : )

History
Established in 2005
Paul & Nicole Sinclair met while working for a major record label in New York City. Two years later, they were planning their own wedding and wanted a DJ who shared their vision - classic and focused on the couple, rather than a performance with lights, smoke machines, and blow-up guitars. They had a hard time finding one and the idea for a different kind of DJ company was conceived.
Soon thereafter, Aria Melody was formed with their Best Man, Paul's brother John Sinclair, to build upon their wedding experience and John's 15+ years as a DJ.
John's unique musical background in alternative rock, indie rock, motown, funk, hip hop and dance made him a sought-after talent for weddings and private events.
Aria Melody DJ has been featured in The Knot magazine, rated 5-stars by Wedding Wire, Project Wedding and is a favorite of New York newlyweds and wedding professionals alike.
Meet the Business Owner: John S.
Originally from Philadelphia, John Sinclair has worked in the music industry for over fifteen years, getting his start as a DJ at the age of fourteen by setting up two Technics-1200 turntables in his basement and mixing Bust a Move with It Takes Two. His radio career began at modern rock station Y100-FM in Philly and he later joined B101 Philadelphia and 105.7 The X Harrisburg as on-air talent.
In 2004, John moved to New York City to start Aria Melody DJ with his brother Paul and sister-in-law Nicole. He has worked with over 200 couples and performed in some of New York's finest venues, such as: Le Parker Meridien, The W Hotel, Manhattan Penthouse, The West Side Loft, The Stone House at Stirling Ridge, Battery Gardens and The Liberty House.
In addition to his music background, John is an Emmy Award-winning television writer/ producer. He lives in Hoboken with his sidekick Kingsley the Pitbull.
