I was supposed to go to Thailand in a few months, but due to a change of plans I can't go.
In any case I went to this restaurant with someone whose been to Thailand numerous times and it was hands down the best thai food of my life. The spice was amazing (yes one of us cried), and the food was truly fantastic. We had some unusual dishes including the amazing twice fired catfish. The desserts were also delicious and tasty. The service was fantastic!
So for now since I can't go to Thailand I know that I will be frequenting this spot so I can have the flavors without the flight!

Fantastic, a true find, love it.
Great food fantastic service. A real gem slighty out of the way for a manhattanite but worth the trip
About a half block from my house. I always get the pad thai and something like masaman curry. I've gotten their spring rolls and riblettes as apps. Both very good.
The service is always gracious.
Excellent food. Lunch portions are smaller but that's to be expected for the price. Service is good most of the time. They did forget to charge me once and then later requested that I repay them. I figured it was their mistake but I paid them anyway.
Great food. Crispy duck with tamarind sauce was excellent.
Friendly, good service. Small and hospitable. They obviously take pride in their food. Also good, chicken pad Thai. Close to 39th St. subway station (N and W trains).

I frequent this place and enjoy the food very much. It isn't the most amazing Thai I have ever tasted but it is still very good. Service is always great when I am there, seems to be 2 servers that rotate shifts, and both of them are super nice at all times. I have never been when it is very crowded but I have been there when they have had huge parties of 10 or more in the back and our service never suffered from that.

YUM~! Always terrific. The roasted duck in red curry sauce is amazing, and the wide noodle with pork even better than the Pad Thai.
The lunch special is only 6.95, and, how nice for me, they deliver if I am not in the mood to pop around the corner. One of my BF's insists we eat here every time she is in the city.

Thai cuisine.
Ordered several dishes including duck. Food was well prepared and tasted good. It wasn't as spicy as I was expecting, but it was a good alternative to Sripraphai. Actually went to this place upon recommendation of someone waiting outside of Sripraphai.
If you are in the Astoria area, this is a nice place to eat.

3.5 stars. Service was decent. A one man show during the lunch special hour, so I had to remind him of some requests I wanted. But the waiter was very friendly and nice. Weekday lunch special runs for $6.95. Which sounds reasonable, but noodle dishes don't include a small side salad. My friend got the pad thai. Not too sour, which is good. But the portion was a bit small. I had the generic mixed vegetables with jasmine rice. Again, not much veggies and it's mostly the inexpensive kinds (carrots, cabbage and maybe 3 snowpeas), but the rice was nice and fluffy. Compared to a Chinese takeout, of course, you would more quantity, but from the look of the dishes, you can tell the chef does put some time and effort into it (my carrots were diced in a zigzag shape). A bit of comment on the salad dressing...it's penaut sauce...from the pad thai, which mean warm dressing on cold salad. Doesn't really work that way...
PS if you like French crepes, Cafe Triskell is 2 blocks away. Check that out. I haven't though, so please let me know. :)

One of the more authentic Thai places in Astoria, this place can be excellent (I recall an amazing whole fried fish dish), or terrible (I recall a ground-chicken salad where they neglected to remove the bones from the meat before grinding it).
Excellent Thai restaurant with some delicious specialties-- not for the faint of heart. If you want greasy pad thai and egg rolls, why not go to a Chinese place. here you can get frog legs, all sorts of curries, and really powerful spices and coconut milk. I highly recommend the green curry.
The only downside is the ambiance sucks- it's always empty and you can hear a pin drop. It's too bad it's not more bustling; I like going to restaurants to be around other people having fun, not to sit there and grub and be done in 10 minutes.
Steve is wrong- it's close to the 36th subway stop, NOT 39th.

We went here for my friend's birthday. The place was packed but we didn't have to wait long to be seated. However, there was only one person taking the orders. And while waiting for the waitress, we went ahead and wrote down our orders in a piece of napkin. She had a laugh when I handed her the list (it was pretty lenghty). All of the dishes were very tasty although a bit spicy for the kids. And who could forget their thai iced tea... it was really good. I would definitely go back there again.
Upon the suggestion of yelpers, I ordered lunch delivered to my job from here. And it hit the spot! Pretty good, pretty good. I'm a fan and will definitely be ordering again. I got the chicken pad thai and it was delivered piping hot and delicious.

If you're in Astoria, this is the place for Thai food. Always delicious! They're Masaman curry is amazing, as is the Crispy duck. Their Pad Thai is good, but I rarely get it. I figure why judge a Thai place on Pad Thai, it's like going to a great Italian bistro and getting spaghetti and marinara sauce- boring! I get their take out often, as it is not too far from my house. The service is always attentive and friendly.

one of the best thai dishes in new york city. after just returning from bangkok, the taste and smells of their panaeng curry dish (beef is the best) brought me right back. I highly recommend the duck anything..

I had lunch and dinner here. To be honest the food here was just ok. Do-able. Pad thai was alright. Prices are a deal compared to surrounding places. I just like the fact that they sell Nom-Dang which is the sweet red kool-aid of thailand.
This lovable Thai place has just the right ambiance. I've been here at least six times and have always enjoyed what I'm served (their curries are particularly outstanding). Between their good food, gracious service & close proximity to the subway, I'm happy to have this restaurant nearby.
