Beware of this simple fact....you will be SPOILED after visiting the Argyle Spa. It will be very difficult to fathom having to share a locker room/dressing space with the hoi polloi at other spas. After having your own private suite here, in which you are lavished upon by the technicians, you WILL feel like Beyonce; MIT has done studies on this, I swear. The suite essentially a hotel room (complete with private shower, bathroom, super fab tub) sans bed, but they do have a chaise lounge you may lounge on if you so desire.
Mom, Sister, and I booked the Bloomspot deal for a girls' day out; this included the hammam, massage, milk bath, and facial. Each service was wonderful. The staff was top notch. Brendan was our gracious host and organized our intricate schedules seamlessly.
We waltzed out of there feeling like we were going to walk the Oscars' red carpet. The worst part was having to return to reality and realizing my rider requests of 14 Shetland ponies, 10 magnums of Cristal, and 40,000 lime green M&M's were not going to be fulfilled. Oh well, this diva will just keep on dreaming of her next Argyle Spa experience..... -

My experience at Argyle was nothing short of HORRIFIC. A friend of mine goes to Argyle, and had been trying to get me to try it out for quite some time. When I recently saw a Groupon deal for half off a cut & blow dry, I bought it and thought I would give it a try. I scheduled my appointment for 2pm on a Saturday.
At 1pm, I called the salon and asked if I could move my appointment to 2:15pm. The receptionist stated "no problem, see you then" and that was that. At 2:17pm, as I was handing off my keys to the valet and entering the hotel, I got a call from the same receptionist asking if I was coming. I told her I was just about to walk and and she replied, "great, see you soon." As I approached the front desk, I stated my name and my appointment time of 2:15pm to the mousy girl I had spoken to on the phone.
All of a sudden, in a loud, thundering, voice Beastly Betsy (who later turned out to be the manager) jumped up and started going into what seemed like convulsions, reapetedly stating that I was late and that it was "IMPOSSIBLE" for Sydney (the hairstylist) to see me. Now, mind you, this Groupon deal only allows for 2 stylists (whom I assume are the lower level beginners) to perform the service. I began to explain to Beastly Betsy that I had called in advance and was assured that it was not a problem to change my appointment time. She looked at her watch and stated, well, even if that was the case, you're 5 minutes late, it's 2:20. I looked at her shocked, and stated that she had spent the last 3 mintues arguing with me, and that I did in fact arrive at 2:17.
The mousy girl even admitted to teling me that I could move my appointment time to 2:15, but Beastly Betsy (hereinafter referred to as "BB") stated that it didn't matter, that Syndey was booked and that she has a schedule that needs to be respected. (JAW DROPPING) I attempted to explain to this monster that this was in no way my fault, that I would take any stylist to perform the job which I had already paid for! BB then stated that would be impossible, b/c the Groupon only allows for certain stylists to perform the service.
After a great deal of back and forth, BB left and came back, stating that Sydney would do the cut, but no one would be able to blow dry my hair. I couldn't seem to understand why she was talking to me like she was doing ME a favor after THEY messed up. I told her that would not be happening, as I was not about to walk out w/ wet hair, and I had alrady paid for a blow dry. She again, after much arguing, left and returned, stating that "somebody" would blow my hair out.
Once I arrived at Sydney's chair (hereinafter referred to as the "dungeon"), she was spitting me attitude like she was Ken Paves or something. Upon witnessing her horrible attitude, I attempted to explain to her the "mix up." Not suprisingly, she didn't seem to care one bit! She went on to explain to me that if I was a regular Argyle customer, coming late would be no problem, but since I am not paying full price, and I am in fact a Groupon customer, I am not allowed to come late. Shocked, I ONCE AGAIN explained that I was not late, that I had changed my freaking appointment time and that isn't the whole point of Groupon to attract new customers so that they come back and turn into regulars? She stated that it was, but that we peasant Groupon holders must follow separate rules. All the while, she had this smug look on her face.
All you are doing is giving me a trim buddy, you don't have a PhD and you sure as hell are not about to perform rocket science. Not to mention, that by this point, it was about 2:40pm. Everyone seemed to want to argue, but no one wanted to DO THEIR JOB. Sydney tried to explain that she needs a full hour to cut my hair. Guess what? She cut it in ten minutes! An assitant blew my hair out, and Sydney never once returned to do a dry cut, touch up, ask how I liked my hair, NOTHING. I would never return here. It was truly a nightmare, and the worst part of all was that I was in no way at fault, not even 1%. Hold on, let's be fair here, I was actually 2 minutes late. Damn stairs. -

I went to the Argyle Spa after being referred by my friend. The med-spa was beautiful and the whole setting was fabulous and the style is art-deco. Also there was a beautiful arrangements of fresh flowers. From the valet parking in the lobby of the Hotel to the large waiting area. I was welcomed and treated professionally I could not be live it. The only complaint was the background noise in the waiting area from the Hair Salon.
Inside the the private treatment room Azita the RN did all of her magic on my face. From the botox treatment to the injections of filler the whole experience could not have been better. Azita was so pleasant and charming I can not wait to go back and see her again! -

This is an amazing spa! They have the best treatment rooms ever. I got a facial with a Groupon. Nicole was my aestician and she was amazing. She first took me to the Hamman, which is a private steam room. It was super relaxing. She gave me a sugar scrub to use while I steamed. After the 20 minutes, my skin was so soft! The facial was also really good. She took her time and really made sure she used the right products for my skin type. At the end, she recommended a few products that I should try. I really liked how Nicole didn't force me to buy expensive full size products but suggested I just try samples before committing. I am definitely coming back here. They are the best!

My sis got a deal with HauteLook on a reduced price for a massage for the Argyle. It was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon with my mom and sis...GIRLS DAY!
The Argyle is located in the Sunset Towers Hotel. Valet parking with validation was $8. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by the friendly receptionist, Laurie. She requested printed copies of our HauteLook receipts, which I was not informed we needed when I booked the reservation. Laurie offered to print them at the front desk, and when she was unable to, she requested that we fax them in. A small speedbump in what was a wonderful day.
The massage itself was wonderful! We each got our own room...or should i say suite! The room has one massage table, a toilet, shower, large tub, and many other amenties! WOW! The use of the tub for other services was an extra charge, which we opted out of (due to dinner reservations elsewhere).
I guess the only downside was that we were continually referred to as "The HauteLooks" rather than by our first names. Which was kind of weird that our thrifty nature for getting an on-line deal was put on blast.Listed in: Let's Relax!

I can't tell you how many compliments I received over the holiday on my darling 'do. Usually the compliments come from women, because they understand how much time, energy, and worry goes into a well-maintained coiff, but both men and women were gushing over my hair.
I was lucky enough to be treated to a style out at Argyle and I landed in the hands of Mateo. He was flirty, fun, and edgy. All things you could ever want in a stylist. He treated me like a paying customer, if not better, and not only styled me out to perfection, but couldn't resist giving me layers and cutting my bangs back (I was trying to grow them out). I walked out of there like I was ready for the runway. The runway of life.
Mateo's keen eye and masterful scissors, coupled with a Brazilian Blowout from Michelle B at Ravissant Salon (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) had me glowing all holiday season long.

Fun atmosphere, friendly people. Natalie Paz is my stylist and she never disappoints. She's taken me from longer hair to a sleek bob and back again. Love her blow outs and her tousled curls. I always feel like a goddess when she's done with me. And people def notice my hair. Her updos are amazing, too. Plus, she's a sweetheart, easy to talk to and hilarious -- bonus!
And if you're looking for incredible color, Jeremy Tardo is your guy. I've been variations of red for years now and was ready for a change. He had a vision of me as a blonde and it turned out sooo good. Tons of compliments. He's awesome with color and on top of it, has a great personality!
I recommend Natalie, Jeremy and Argyle to anyone looking for an awesome experience and great style. -
Review from Kate W.
Absolute best spa experience of my life - I am ecstatically relaxed, Argyle, and it's all thanks to you!!
After reading my 1 star for never receiving a return phone call, someone from the spa messaged me to apologize and graciously offered to extend the Spa Finder deal since I missed out. He was great about working around my hectic schedule and I love that we emailed to set up the appointment - since I work all the time, it's much easier for me to do a little sneaky emailing than it is to call.
First, the valet guy was fantastic. He was attentive and asked if I knew where I was headed inside - and since I didn't, he told me exactly where to go. I love when experiences start out on the right foot - this one certainly did. Once I got there, the front desk coordinators were lovely and welcoming, and really the whole place was elegant and fresh and inviting. I was brought down a flight and shown to my treatment room, which was ridiculously lavish - 2 massage beds, private gigantic bathtub, private shower, private bathroom, complimentary toiletries, flat screen tv, telephone to call the front desk if I needed anything. I felt like royalty - or at least celebrity!
Then I was introduced to Becca - the absolute best massage therapist I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. More on that in a minute...
Next I was shown to my hummum - a huge steam room, all for me, with a nifty waterfall that ran across the top of the ledge where you can sit, with water that varied in temperature - amazing! There were also showers inside the steam room, and they give you an ice cold washcloth and some yummy sugar scrub if you want to use it (you should!).
After an amazing half-hour, Becca brought me back to the treatment suite and began the best massage of my life. I cannot recommend Becca enough. She asked all the right questions in the beginning, used exactly the right amount of pressure, and checked in just enough to make sure I was comfortable without interrupting my zen. Plus she is one of the nicest people I've had the pleasure of meeting.
At the end of my massage, Becca drew me a milk bath, and so began my half-hour of alone time in the suite. (They offer sea salts for the bath as well.) It was so luxurious and relaxing, and days later my skin still feels noticeably softer.
I cannot believe they offered this fantastic 2 hours for only $50 during the Spa Finder Deal Days - what a steal!! And at $120 regularly, I can't do this every week as I'd like to, but it's honestly still a bargain for how fabulous you'll leave feeling. This would be an absolutely marvelous gift for someone you love and appreciate - whether that's your significant other or yourself!
I love you, Argyle!Listed in: Stay sane in Hollyweird

Review from Ivy K.
Santa Monica, CA
I checked out the Argyle Salon & Spa this past Saturday with two girlfriends to relax and recover from consuming mass quantities of food over Thanksgiving which rendered us compeltely immobile. Since we couldn't really move post-turkeyfest, we decided it'd be a good idea to book massages and a Hammam (Turkish steam bath) in order to try and redistribute all the food and fat bloating up our bodies.
We were lucky and found street parking outside, valet would've been $6 but we paid a quarter every 15 minutes instead. The spa is located at the Sunset Towers hotel, go downstairs for the salon and down another flight for the spa.
We weren't sure what to expect with the Hammam and initially I was disappointed thinking we'd just paid $25/each for 20 minutes in a regular old steam room. When all three of us piled in, it turned out to be a surprisingly pleasant experience - the steam smelled nice, plus we were each given a pan of exfoliating sugar scrub to rub ourselves with. In traditional Turkish baths someone rubs the exfoliant on you, but in the world of LA lawsuits we were left to scrub ourselves. One of the showers was broken but two other "waterfalls" in the bath worked perfectly well and prevented us from suffocating in the steam.
Quote from the steam room (courtesy of Angela): "I can't see anything so I'm sorry if I accidentally grope anyone."
After 20 minutes of fun (maybe too much fun, we were told to tone it down as courtesy to other spa patrons), we were sad to see the "hammam bath over" signal light flash on and off. After a quick dry, we were on to our individual massage!
I was VERY impressed with the spa suites - each room comes with its own bath and bath salts, shower, flatscreen TV, and vanity. My girlfriend Angela and I shared a room for dual massages, her massage therapist was a cute, petite flower Melia and mine was a fabulous and adorable gay boy with strong hands named Nester.
Our massages were $120 for 50 minutes and I thoroughly enjoyed mine. Thanks Nester! Angela said Melia did a bangup job and our girlfriend Sherri (who is a massage therapist herself) spoke highly of the massage that her masseuse Jen gave her.
After our massages we were given 30 minutes of "private suite time" which we utilized to the max. Angela and I ate an apple, took a bath with bath salts, and showered in the dual shower. Unfortunately the water pressure was so weak we had to return to the tub for a complete rinse, otherwise everything was amazingly enjoyable and super relaxing.
Minus a 1/2 star because we weren't offered any wine or complimentary champagne. Minus another 1/2 star because of poor water pressure. Minus one more 1/2 star because the next day Angela had strange bruises on her leg. Round up to 4 stars for service from the staff, overall quality of service especially the massages, and impressiveness of the facilities. We ended up paying $126 total per person including tip since we used gift cards we had received (purchased by friends who paid $75 for a $100 gift card due to a special e-mail promotion) and a 30% off coupon (also received via e-mail valid that weekend only). Worth every penny! I ended up buying 3 more gift cards and paid $225 for $300 worth of spa services. I can't wait to go back, thank you Argyle for a fabulous girl's Saturday at the spa! Our skin was SO smooth afterwards we couldn't stop rubbing our own arms and hands.
To end our Argyle Spa experience with one more quote (once again, courtesy of Angela :) ): "I can't wait to go home and touch myself!"
That pretty much sums it up. Good times...Listed in: I like to spa.

Review from Kiki H.
West Hollywood, CA
I've been the Argyle for both the laser facial and the salon services and can tell you that the people I've had are great.
Starting with the facials, Azita is an experienced and well-informed esthetician who gives an amazing laser facial. This facial is non-ablative and leaves you with no downtime whatsoever. It helps with pigmentation and breakouts. Also, it gives your face a little lift that you'll notice for a few days to come. She's definitely a product pusher so you can't be a pushover or you'll end up spending a grand. Having said that, I will admit that they carry some top of the line products that are not carried everywhere, so who can blame a girl?!
Onto the hair. I've been seeing Suzy for color and Alex for cuts for the past 20 months now.
Okay, as for color I can only speak to the blondes in the room. For absolutely gorgeous, Jennifer Aniston style baliage highlights go directly to the divine Ms. Suzy. You can tell who she is by looking for the best looking blonde haircolor in the joint. Suzy's smudges and baliage highlights are LA's finest and she is a well-kept secret. I'm an old pro here in LA as far as highlight hunting is concerned and truly, Suzy is my last stop and if you want to look like a golden goddess, she'll be yours, too. She even has a bleach free formula that she uses on me which has been great at restoring the health and shine to my locks. Additionally, she is incredibly approachable and unassuming.
THE TRICK: bring tear sheets showing her exactly what you DO want and more tearsheets showing her exactly what you DON'T want. Then she'll give it to ya'.
CUTS: Don't bother going to anyone but Alex. He is honestly a master. I have long hair with long layers now and Alex helped me grow them out in a shiny healthy manner to my current length. Before, i was overly layered (my hair is fine so over-layering just makes me look even thinner and straggly. NOT a good look and bummed me out). Alex is one of those RARE hairdressers who actually can listen to you and then do EXACTLY what you want. He takes very few liberties and he also takes his time with each strand so he's not just chopping off extra stuff. He carefully trims your dead ends and is as conservative as possible. I really appreciated this.
His cuts are manageable and low maintenance. Furthermore, he truly gives me the BEST BLOWOUT i've ever had in my life. It's like magic.
TIMEWISE: I'm in and out with cut, color and blowout with this dynamic duo in 2 1/2 hours flat.
COST: $275 is what i pay for all of that so pricey but less pricey than Lori Goddard the wallet rapist. -

Came here for a massage, milk bath. I also got to use the hamman steam room. I loved the way that their massage room was actually a suite with the bath, shower, and vanity so you did not have to leave during the service. The hammam bath was just down the hall and it was fantastic. I love steam rooms and had not experienced anything like that before. Streaming warm water everywhere with steam and a scrub. There is also a shower if you want to cool off. Perfect combination. The massage suite was very cozy with candles and fragrance. It's a bit pricy and definitely a treat to go there. I would recommend it though. Theresa was my masseuse and she was really good.

Review from Kristy E.
Eh, it's not the worst salon, it's a nice spot. However, it's definitely not the best.
The girl who did my hair was super sweet, she brought me wine and seemed to have a game plan for fixing my attempt at a home lightening and toning job. I waited til my roots grew in some til I had it fixed so the person doing it would have a clear idea of my natural color. I was in the chair having my roots lightened(not the rest of my hair because I guess the colorist thought toner would be sufficient) for at least an hour and a half. It was a ridiculously long time. I can only re-read a 2 month old issue of Cosmo so many times. My scalp got super itchy and all that not so good stuff. Fun. The girl doing the lightening, gave me a comb to itch with. Thanks.
So she rinses out the root bleach and it's like an orange-y blonde and I ask if that's what it's supposed to look like. She says "sure, it'll look different once I put the toner on.
She puts the toner on, checks it and has some guy wash and dry it in between his working on like 3 other people. Oh, and she left before it was dry. Unacceptable. I would think she'd have stayed to make sure it came out right. But it was a Friday and I guess she wanted out. So did I, I had an event to get to, that I was obviously going to be late for due to the length of the hair appt.
So what's his face blows out my hair, tells me my hairs too short up front for the side bang syle I want(which I did myself way better then he did the next day) and I'm so happy to be done with the appointment, I think it's great.
The next day on a less stressed and rushed mind. I realize my roots are orange toned and my blonde looks boxed and brassy. For 4hrs I would think they could do better.
I won't be going back. The girl was sweet but didn't stay to even make sure I liked my color. Personality only goes so far. The guy who blowed my hair out was too busy, and I could've done a better job myself and not been 2hrs late for my event.
It's probably a nice salon for styling and less complicated coloring, or if the girl who does the coloring stays to do it right. They also do skin services that are maybe this places saving grace. The lady next to me was very vocal about just having her botox done. Good for her.
I'm giving three stars but I suppose it's more 2.5. Like I said it was a nice spot, my experience was just rather lackluster. -

I'm gonna just start this off by saying, WOW (and that this will be a LONG review)!
A very good friend of mine had received a high end gift basket and it included a spa day at The Argyle Spa. After her experience, she was so moved, she felt compelled to buy me the experience that this amazing spa provides. She recommended Nestor for the massage.
I made an appointment, no problem here. Called in Christmas Day (they were closed, duh). Left a voice-message and they called me promptly the next day. A Saturday phone call got me a Sunday appointment. Sweet women on the phone.
Parked on the street, being afraid Valet at a hotel like this (Sunset Strip) might be too pricy.
When I stepped in, everything was top notch! They offered my an ice tea and gave me a quick tour of this lavish spa. They walked me to my private suite, The Royal Suite, and they told me to take a few minutes to disrobe and get comfortable. The suite was amazing, as large as most hotel rooms, but all laid out as an ultra large, marble and modern bath/spa room. Huge Jacuzzi-Style Spa, large all-stone open layout shower with a rainfall head, Plasma hanging on the wall, lounge chair and on and on... I removed my cloths and stepped into a plush robe and slippers. A very sweet lady came in and proceeded with my amazing facial. Top of the line service. About an hour into the facial, complete with soothing ambient music and lighting, I felt someone massaging my feet. For about 30 minutes from there, I had both of them working on me, all in my private suite. CLASS!
The facial ended and the massage started! Nestor was amazing. He knew exactly the right places to push. You know how some are too hard or not hard enough, Nestor is perfect, he just knew when and where to put his magical fingers.
When he finished, he slowly exited, leaving me to take a Sea-Salt bath while watching The Simpsons on the flat screen. Finished with a hot shower and a lemon water (brought to be when I called the front desk from my room during my bath)
Go here for Nestor, go here to be pampered, just go here!
Total damage, including tip = $300.00 ... This experience has made a "very good friend" into one of the best friends a guy like me can have!

I don't think I would ever get bored of being pampered. How can one not want to just eat, sleep, meditate, and get massages? I think that if I could spend everyday of my life doing just those things I would definitely achieve higher consciousness and ultimately discover the meaning of life. =)
Not many yogi's would want to indulge in such unnecessary splendors but I'm still trying to work out my material world attachments. Haha Anyho, when I'm really fed up with living this unreality I like to spend some down time at The Argyle. The staff are extremely attentive and professional (just like they should be in at all high end dayspas). It's amazing how you can't really find that in some high end spas like *cough* lagunacliffs. The Argyle is definitely a DAYSPA. Extremely luxurious and private however, it's also a god damn pricey place.
Oh and you might also want to get extra spa treatments after fighting Hollywood traffic to get there.:) The drive out is pretty awful too. -

just missed being the first here to review. oh wells. This place is absolute relaxation and pleasure. I highly recommend this especially for a couple's retreat for a few hours. After this you'll never go back to BW where they move you along like cattle. Try the Hammam bath with a special someone. Use they scrubs to open up those pores and get you ready for your massage. The massage was wonderful as well. Heated beds and highly trained and sensual massuse. It was so good that I couldnt think straight for a bit afterwards.
The previous reviewer was right though. The salon is really loud while you're waiting. but once you're downstairs. You won't hear the noise anymore.Listed in: My Neighborhood

I'm gonna be real with you. This place is amazing.
I booked awhile ago with the Spa Finder Deal Days for a custom massage and facial and boy am I glad I did.
The lobby was loud because of the salon, but as soon as my massage therapist Theresa led me down stairs, I knew I was going to be very happy. The spa suites are quite and very luxurious. The suite I had, had a massage table, it's own shower, bathroom, and deep tub.
I have lower back problems and Theresa applied just the right amount of pressure to make sure we were working out all the tension without causing further damage.
Next, Jaclyn came into my suite and set up for my custom facial. It was wonderful not having to move rooms while getting multiple treatments. Jaclyn analyzed my skin, went over the battle plan and then went to it. Her extractions weren't too painful (always a bonus). She detoxed and added moisture back to my face and boy, was I a happy camper.
I will definitely come back. Nestor was great a booking my appointment and one of the other ladies at the front desk was kind enough to give me a hair tie since I couldn't find one in my purse.
**side note, my hair was a hot mess after Jaclyn did a scalp massage with my facial. super relaxing... not such great hair**
Hopefully I'll get to come back soon!
P.S.: They do validate for Valet. It's a flat rate of $7 -

Two words "BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT"
Maurico Ribeiro is a God from Brazil, with this technique that leaves my hair soooooo soft for 6 weeks, He uses a mix of chocolate (yummy!), my hair smells great, fells great, OMG.
I'm so in love with Mauricio, I wish to have him styling my hair every day, since I can't afford a personal hair stylist I go every 6 weeks to the Argyle in order to have my mane soft and smooth.

I've never used Argyle's spa services as they are a tad pricey and I'd prefer to relax somewhere off the sunset strip as there is nothing relaxing about Sunset Blvd. in West Hollywood.
I go to Argyle Salon to get the best highlights a girl could ask for from Suzy, the best colorist your flat head of hair could ever ask for. She specializes in bellage highlights (yeah, I didn't know what they were either) that are painted onto your hair giving you more natural highlights going in and growing out. Instead of having a telltale line an inch (or two) from the crown of your head, the highlights grow out naturally and blend into your noggin (or rather, the hair on it).
The salon is a little noisy with all those hair dryers working their blow out magic, but they'll keep your cup of wine/coffee/water full and pretty soon you'll forget about the noise, or the plans you had for the day, because getting your hair done should be relaxing, and if you're paying for it, why not enjoy it?
While the hotel is dark, the salon is bright and airy with french doors leading to a sunning patio. So maybe bring a bathing suit? Not sure, but I bet you could.
These stylists are experts, and expert means that your hair will look and feel fabulous for a while. Enjoy the neck massage, and know that the glaze they put on your hair will keep it looking shiny the way most products promise but don't deliver.
Suzy is a goddess: she's smart, sassy and oh so friendly. Are you still in LA? Yep! On sunset blvd. no less. -

Great Place and Great Massage.
I got a gift certificate and was even able to pay my gratuity with the remaining balance of the gift certificate.
I was able to find street parking, so I didn't even have to pay for valet.
My massage was in a private suite that had a bathtub, shower, and vanity station. It was really nice and comfortable. You get 30 min free of the suite usage after your massage. I took a bath and shower.
My only negative comments would be that the shower head was a bit weak so it was difficult to wash out my hair and the water stayed very hot and wouldn't get cold. The room got very steamy and it was just a bit too hot for me which made getting dressed a bit diffuclt. I wish it had more ventilation and bit more light. -

Alas the Sunset Towers hotel is dark and claustrophobic, so the spa itself is in the "dungeon" as they call it, but they did get voted as having the best spa rooms ever. And they do! They're dimly lit but huge, with a chair, private bath, separate gigantic shower for two, vanity/sink, cabinetry for the odds and ends to service you, massage table. Appointed in stone/marble/brass fixtures and the hush-hush of a yummy spa. Flatscreen tv!
Their manager is the most pleasant creature ever - Dominic - genuinely interested in taking care of you. It is a bit tedious to deal with the narrow stairs going into the spa, down into the treatment rooms, or up again to the lobby. Ah well, exercise.
A bit of a rowdy salon/waiting area, I've never tried to get hair services done here (ethnic hair) but my friend got her nails done and loved it. Waiting area is smack in the middle so there isn't a real sense of privacy, it's a bit rushed/chaotic to wait there, especially on weekends when they get really busy.
Massage beds are not heated, but are otherwise standard. Well fixed in proper linens. My massage therapist (Lee) is genuine and cares about your body as he works it.
My friend has gotten facials here and liked them. I've had the baths and they're awesome, too.
They offer you beverages whenever you're waiting, including champagne.
I shouldn't tell you this ... I really shouldn't. I walked out of a massage once into the spa lobby and encountered a celebrity and his family finishing up and paying. They were cute. He was cute. I didn't bother saying hi to him, but the lot of them were especially well-behaved and pleasant.
That's what spas DO to you. Make you happy, make you relaxed ...

Simple and great.
I went there today for a blow-dry and i love it , i had my hair done with DAX and he was fast and great. 60 bucks for a blowout plus 6 dollars for valet...
The spa is not new and doesn't have expensive furniture or Kerastase products , but ha a great atmosphere and friendly staff .
I ll be there in four days for my next blow-dry!!!
P.s The Brazilian blow out is a must!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

Deep and strong hands!! I got a wonderful, relaxing and deep massage from The Argyle Spa- Maya from the spa did a 90 minute on me and it was awesome. I recommend her highly, having been to many massage places all over the world. Being a guy who likes really deep massages, I often find that women can't do the job. Not an issue with Maya, who is super strong!!!
Highly recommended! -

I went in to get my hair colored by Lorenzo per recommendation of a friend at work. All I can say is that I was thoroughly wow-ed from the minute I walked in. The staff was very friendly and pleasant.
I began my consultation with a complimentary mimosa. There's just something about sitting in a salon chair sipping a mimosa that makes the whole experience so much better, don't you think?
Basically, Lorenzo did an absolutely amazing job on my hair. I've been getting compliments daily. The lady that did my wash gave me a sublime head massage also, mad props to her.
But really, I walked out feeling fabulous and can't wait to go back for more. -

A couple of my friends from work and I decided to surprise two of our other coworkers with a spa day because they had been really stressed. We made appointments for the Hammam (Turkish Bath), massages for the girls, and Ambassador Pedicures for the three of us who were planning the day.
We get to the spa, and were greeted in a friendly manner. Our Hammam and room were not quite ready yet as we had arrived a bit early, so we waited on their patio, which was relaxing.
The salon itself, does not seem impressive whatsoever. It's simply a room with a bunch of salon chairs--nothing that i haven't seen before.
The spa was lovely. We had a room to ourselves where we were able to shower and change.
The Hammam was relaxing, but I have a complaint. The water was supposed to be cold because we were in a steaming hot bath. For some reason, it was malfunctioning and it would be cold for a minute, then get SUPER HOT. We had to step out of the Hammam several times in order to breathe. Overall, it was a good experience, but I wish that it had been in proper working order.
Now, on to the pedicures! We went back to the room after we sensed we had been in the Hammam long enough. We were told by the staff person that we would get a warning when the time was almost up, but it never happened. The staff was trying to rush me and my coworker to go upstairs, complaining that we needed to get up there like 5 minutes ago. That was bit annoying, as we had no concept of time while in a steam bath. Oh well, life goes on.
We get into the salon, I am expecting some spa chair, but instead they give my coworker some foot tub that you can find at a place you would pay 10 dollars, and I got some huge bronze mixing bowl thing to put my feet it. This was seriously one of the WORST pedicures that I have ever received. When we booked, we chose the more expensive pedicure b/c it sounded like it included a lot more for only $10 extra. If I only knew that the "massage and body wrap" would consist of the nail tech rubbing some cheap ass lotion on my legs and proceeding to wrap them with Saran Wrap and taking it off in about 2 min! It was a less than mediocre pedicure that cost me $80 plus tip. My coworkers got french pedicures, and were not informed that this was $10 extra, which I felt was very rude of them. It's not the $10 that bothered them, but they should have been informed.
On a positive note, the girls that we surprised LOVED their massages.
I would go back for the Hammam, which is a great deal at $25 for 25 minutes. I would also like to have a massage, but nail services? Forget it! -

The past few months, I have been working hard and extremely stressed, as so many people have been recently. I was in desperate need of some type of indulgence and pampering, I made an appointment for a Hammans (Scrub) and an Ambassador massage (80 min).
I checked in and was greeted by the owner (Brittany) she was very gracious and asked if I'd like anything to drink and that she would check on my masseuse Nestor so that I may begin my treatments. Moments later, I was whisked away to begin my steam in a beautiful private room with two shower heads inside the steam room, a large dish of salts and wash cloth and more water awaiting me. I am just getting over a cold and was congested and the steam helped me clear my head so to speak as well as scrub my skin as the steam prepped it. 20 minutes later Nestor came back to escort me to my private room with a shower, bath tub, plasma TV, restroom etc. It was beautiful.
I pointed out all of my sore spots to Nestor and he explained to me his technique of getting to the lower back area, he will climb on the table and not be be alarmed :). He had the perfect deep tissue touch, I felt all of my stress leave my body. It also included warm rocks to work out the kinks in my muscles, hot packs on my back and tummy, aromatherapy eye pads . He ran the salt bath for me a few minutes before the massage ended.
After my hot bath I took a shower and also noticed the shampoo & conditioner were by Rene Furterer. The attention to detail at this spa is far superior to any other places that I have been to and I have been to many spas!
I highly recommend The Argyle Spa and will definitely be back! I feel like a new woman. -

I had the pleasure of getting a massage at the Argyle from a most amazing masseur. Now, I've had a fair amount of massage in my life and frankly one seems as good as the next more often than not, but here the incredible Andrew really showed me what a superior massage should feel like. Not only were my sore muscles relieved (a state they remained in for a full week) but I felt rejuvinated; no sleep through massage here! What a treat.
And the kudos don't end with Andrew, the rest of the staff were very pleasant, efficient and thoroughly attractive.
Consider me a fan. -

Let's put it this way, if my favorite hair person weren't here- I wouldn't go back. Not so friendly at front desk but there are some TOP-Notch hair people here: Suzy Morris, Steven Tapp.
Suzy does the "Brazilian Blowout" which has saved my life (not really, but I like to be dramatic!)... it's fantastic and she's a pro.
Valet isn't free, which bugs. -

This place pretty much ROCKS. I've gotten haircuts by a few stylists there and they are all excellent. I've been there when E! News was filming for a style profile, so this place is legit.
Definitely get a massage and a hamam bath. You get your own massage suite when you book a massage - complete with a spa tub, step in shower, plasma TV, and vanity. You can book extra time in the room before and after, which I have done.
The hamam is heavenly. It's a marble turkish bath. It's a sauna that has 2 shower heads and cool water cascading down the walls to keep you cool. They will also give you a body scrub to use while you are in there.
It's a bit pricey but definitely worth it. You will leave refreshed, relaxed, and impressed. -

Okay, I love this place. The only thing that didn't get that extra star from me is it's so darn far! :)
I've heard a lot about this place and have read several reviews before flocking here to drop my hard earned money. The prices are worth it! I practically melted onto the table as soon as I laid down. My masseuse has magical hands! My aesthetician was great and was able to clear up my blemish which I was suffering some at the time.
Definitely a good find. -

I got two Hydrafacials with Jaclyn, and it was a pretty good experience. I was late for my first visit because I was frantically circling around, trying to find the spa. I finally parked behind the street and hoofed around the neighborhood, and realized it was inside the Sunset Tower Hotel. This is what happens to people who get lazy and don't use street view on Google Map (*sigh*). But the staff were very nice about my tardiness and I was introduced to Jaclyn, who was very attentive about my skin and explained in detail about the hydrafacials. I got the face, neck, and chest done, and she massages the area as well, which was pretty awesome. The sucking noise of the facial machine was pretty trippy, but it made for an interesting experience. My face felt so clean and plump afterwards, and I hope I have time and money to come back soon. It's pricey but totally worth it.

I really wished I could have given a 5 stars for my very first yelp review. Oh well, here goes...
I have not heard of Argyle Spa and Salon until I received an email from Bloomspot about a promotional offer for a massage or facial a couple months back. So, I decided to give this place a shot after reading all the great reviews here and bought a coupon. I arrived at the salon and was very impressed with the amenities. You have your very own suite for your treatment! The massage was great and I was really enjoying the experience. I was so impressed by this place I thought of bringing 4 of my girlfriends here for a spa date. So why the one star, one might ask? Well, along with that massage (which I had chosen), the coupon also stated that I get a milk bath session. Not only did I not get that 30 minutes milk bath, when I was halfway through my shower, the therapist came in and informed me that I have only a few minutes to finish what I am doing and need to be out of the room. My hair was not even dry when she came knocking the second time around and giving me the boot. I end up having to put makeup upstairs in their salon. That is so tacky! Why would you have a day spa with complete amenities i.e. a shower and not let someone finish taking a shower and get ready? If you have a time limit for the suite, then please say so. And the worst part of it was when she told me that I wasn't even allowed to shower in the first place? This is a day spa for god's sake. If you're one of those thai massage places that doesn't include a shower, then maybe you shouldn't charge so much for a massage. It all went downhill in that last 10 minutes of me trying to put my clothes on and getting my hair semi-dried. If anything, I just thought it was a very rude way to treat a customer.
I won't come back again and definitely not with my girlfriends. -

I never thought I'd go to Argyle Salon and fall in love, but I did. With Alfredo.:) The man is heaps of talent with a personality to boot. I first saw him for a Brazilian Blowout and let me tell you people...there's no other place to go in town! They offer specials, so ask about them. BRAZILIAN BLOWOUTS ARE THE ANSWER! I've never been happier!
Today I went in to get my color done and once again...Alfredo pulled out all the stops...and my color looks damn hot. I took a risk by reading former Yelp reviews (all raving about Argyle) and I have to say...the risk paid off. It is so rare to find a great, upscale salon with TALENTED AND NICE stylists, but Argyle takes the cake.
Betsy the manager is the bee's knees too...very fun, personable, and upbeat and Aldor the shampoo guy is equally lovely.
There is no shi-shi attitude here...and yet it's as upscale as it gets.
Book your appointment now...I'll share Alfredo with all of you;)
To note: Parking valet is $7 or you can meter park (which I always do to save cash). Also, salon tips MUST be paid in cash so make sure you bring money with you (if not they have an ATM). -
Review from Irene B.
It was time to redeem my Christmas gift certificate, and so I called in to schedule my 50 min massage. The spa section of Argyle is composed of 4 private suites of differing sizes. The decor is clean and modern, and I had my massage in the Imperial Suite with its own bath and shower. Though it's not necessarily the most swanky spa, I really liked the fact that I had my own personal shower and bath because it made the whole experience that much more relaxing.
Now, let me go on to say that I had the BEST deep tissue massage ever from my masseuse Nester. I've been getting deep tissue massages for awhile now that were all pretty much the same, but after 10 minutes with Nester, I realized that I now had a standard to compare my massages to. Nester is courteous, professional, and absolutely amazing at what he does. I was floored, and I felt like a giddy school girl gushing about him to all my girlfriends. Life changing, thank you Nester! -

Sherri does my highlights and she is great. I have long thick hair and just do partial and she keeps it natural looking - not too brassy. I think it's $115 for partial. She is from San Diego and I enjoy going to see her. I definitely recommend her.

This review is for the massage and spa, not the salon. This place is pricey, so I usually only come here once a year when I find some sort of special or promo, but every time I come here, it's like a little slice of heaven for me. I recently went to the Argyle spa and received a massage from Theresa and then enjoyed a milk bath afterwards. The massages here are done in private suites - so there is a bathroom, tub, and shower all in there, plus Arcona facial products and other high-end products for the shower and bath. The experience here is pure luxurious relaxation, so when you're really looking to be pampered, I highly recommend this place. Theresa gave me an excellent massage, and I get massages pretty frequently and like a true deep tissue. She did a really great job. In the past, I've had Lee, and he's also excellent. The Argyle is definitely one of those places where I can say that you get what you pay for. And, the girl at the front desk was also really nice and friendly. The salon sells great product lines as well. Love, love, love the Argyle.

I went to the Argyle Salon in West Hollywood today for thier exclusive treatment the "Brazilian Blowout" and I couldn't be more satisfied with my experience, the stylist, or my hair results!
I'm a fitness instructor with curly hair and during the week I never style my hair because I am in workout mode all the time, it ends up in this post shower pony-tail ridden under the hat kind of funk that isn't easily manageable.
I heard about the Brazilian Blowout treatment from a client of mine who's girlfriend is a colorist and stylist in West Hollywood, Sherri Belanger. She recently relocated to Los Angeles from San Diego where she ran an independent hair styling business with tremendous popularity. She left her business in SD to come live here with her boyfriend and as my client he naturally introduced me to some specials she was offering to rebuild her clientele in Los Angeles.
I have a regular stylist I see for color and cuts etc, but in the Promo email my client sent, the Brazilian Blowout really caught my eye as something I would be interested in. I always straighten my hair when I hit the town because my workout curls are usually so unmanageable and I wanted something to really tame it down.
Sherri had a new client deal going on, so I went for the Brazilian Blowout and WOW so amazing! My hair looks like an A-List superstar and the experience I had makes me feel like one. Aside from her styling skills, Sherri is super cute, friendly, warm, stylish and very knowledgable with hair. Everyone at the salon kept saying "wow, you are the lucky girl who's getting the blowout today" and they meant it...it looks absolutely amazing! I won't have to worry about untuffed curls for the next 8-10 weeks, and I'm loving it. I think I may permanently switch to Sherri at the Argyle now for color, cuts, more Brazilian blowouts, because my hair looks so amazing and the salon is just gorgeous...it's one of the elite West Hollywood salons, and I like how that feels. It's not over-pretentious, or too fancy, but it feels like it in someways and the stylists certainly have celebrity credits to their name!
The Argyle Salon is in a beautiful hotel on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, so I already feel glamorous just entering the building. It is a home to many celebrity stylists and upscale clientele, so all of the stylists are dressed to kill. Sherri is no different, she looks amazing and her hair is done beautifully. I have full confidence in her and the staff gives me the royal treatment so I feel spectacular. Sherri is accommodating and kind, and she's a great conversationalist if you want one.
When the experience comes to an end, I can't believe how good I feel or how great my hair looks. The Brazilian Blowout is a 5 step process I think, but after step 3 I looked in the mirror and thought "Jennifer Aniston must get this treatment done, I have hair like Jennifer Aniston...wow, cool".
I'm not sure that Jennifer ever hits the Argyle salon, but many of their stylists make house calls to A-Lister's all over LA. Celebrities frequent the Argyle Salon too, if you are into that sort of thing.
Over all, the Argyle Salon in West Hollywood is classy and Sherri Belanger is comfortable, professional, talented, and amazing as a stylist.
Let me just say that my hair looks absolutely fabulous and I feel like a million $. -

Akiko is the best! I've seen her for years at several locations and if you want an amazing facial, she's your girl. The rooms at The Argyle Spa are super cute and I love the products they use as well. I'll be back!
