Review from Karina M.
Personally, I thought Argosy was much cooler when it actually left its dock and cruised along the Ohio River. However, those hourly cruises are a thing of the past, so this "riverboat" casino is now permanently anchored.
I'm not much of a gambler, so I'll usually take $20 bucks to blow (I rarely have the skills to win, let alone break even). Games featured at Argosy include live and video poker, slots, blackjack, roulette, craps, let-it-ride-, mini-baccarat, and more. Whether you favor the nickel slots or high stakes poker, Argosy has gaming for all income brackets.
The restaurants at Argosy are pretty decent, though the weekend midnight buffets and the weekly seafood buffets are your best bet for value and quality.
On the casino's busiest nights (any weekend or holiday), parking can be a nightmare. You might want to park your in the out-lot near Holiday Inn Express and take the shuttle.
Overall, I think Argosy is a 3 1/2 star casino. -

Dayton, OH
Meh. The entire facility is well enough appointed for a local place, and is quite clean and well kept. I visited here for a bachelor party of about 20. The steakhouse is excellent though too expensive for the area. A delightful 12-ounce fillet Mignon (USDA prime, and, I suspect, dry-aged) was $36, Fat Tire Amber (limited beer selection) was a reasonable $6, and a top-shelf martini was $18.
They were very accommodating to our party and handled the over-intoxication of the bachelor with grace and forebearance. Don't be surprised to find a mix of people ranging from yokels in sleveless t-shirts to other young professionals such as ourselves in weekend casual. We didn't visit their club, but the line to get in was packed with relatively well-dressed people who seemed to be having a good time and several bachelorette parties. -

I visited here back in 09' when I was visiting a buddy for his wedding. He didn't live too far from this place, about a ten minute drive. So I've been to vegas before and my standards are a bit high. You could say there aren't many other hot spots nearby so you make use of what you get. Not too big of a gambler myself, I only lost a few hundred bucks over the two days I visited. I didn't check out any of the restaurants or other attractions here, just gambled. The parking wasn't a hassle at all.
