    ID Please. Ok.
Are you a citizen of the United States? Yes.

So i'm going to assume President Obama WAS NOT in the building this week but the security clearance to get in this place is insane. I attended a wedding this past Friday and a block of rooms were reserved here. Definitely an interesting location.

The guest house stands in the midst of all of these other top secret buildings and this little area even has its own fire department. Be prepared to check in with security and to possibly get lost since the "campus" is huge!
Security clearance aside the actual guest house was clean, well kept and looked like your standard 3 star hotel. No glitz no glam but definitely not motel 6. And considering the fact that we were one cavity search short of prison they were actually quite lax when we got inside with the entire bridal party and brought in cases of wine and boxes of beer.
Would I stay here willingly if not for a wedding? probably not. it gives me the heebie jeebies

I don't seriously expect this review to be useful to anyone: the guest house is located inside Argonne National Labs, which isn't exactly the hottest vacation spot in the area (unless you like spending your vacations amongst the company of mad Russian scientists...).

I stayed there for three days during a meeting at Argonne, and was very pleasantly surprised. The place is much nicer than a lot of hotels I've been to in the past. The staff was extremely friendly and professional. My room was not particularly big, but it was pretty nice and very clean, and had everything I needed. I'm not sure if that was because I went on a weekend, but the hotel is remarkably quiet: coming from NYC, I found it almost eerie, but certainly enjoyable.

I also tried the restaurant: they have a pretty decent breakfast buffet (nothing to write home about, but it wasn't bad). Lunch was also quite nice and pretty cheap: I had a fried catfish dish for $8, which turned out to be very good and much better than what I had the rest of the time at other places in the area.

What is up however with the cleaning ladies barging into your room at 8am on a Sunday morning?

I find the Argonne Guest House charmingly comfortable, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. After working all night, a shower and some bacon from the breakfast buffet is all you need. Don't forget the free coffee/hot chocolate machine in the lobby. Staff is always friendly and welcoming!

This place is really the pits, it's a small step above a dorm, and frankly I'd rather stay at a motel 6, the room are nicer and it's cheaper. We checked in and the staff was nice enough, but the breakfast looked gross, and when we asked for suggestions or a starbucks (ok we're desparate), they couldn't even tell us where to go. The blanket's in the room are made out of scratchy cheap acrylic, there's no temperature control, and they really sucked. The staff wasn't rude, but was also not helpful at all. The room itself was plain, but really cheap. The towels were of low quality and the lamp plug in for the laptop was coming out. For the price, I'd really expect nicer...  Unless you want the convenience of being right in the lab, stay at an extended stay america, or la quinta or motel 6.
