I was originally referred to Argentum by a Talent agent who recommended them as the place to get headshots reproduced. I have been dealing with this lab for numerous years and they've consistently provided excellent service and excellent prints. Whether it be headshots, postcards, biz cards, Zed cards or online proofs, I can always count on work of the highest quality.
This week I had an actress who was out of town and needed 300 headshots rushed & ready for a big event. It was a tight timeline and the client was on the East Coast. I called Argentum and the sales associate, Marvin coordinated everything so the client could have the prints in time. He was so efficient, friendly and helpful and everything worked out great. My client was thrilled and so was I. It's a pleasure to get this kind of service and at the same time know the prints will be excellent. I must say this is typical of the service I get at Argentum.
I highly recommend Argentum! -

The good things: I had my headshots reprinted here. The quality is good and the prices seemed comparable to other places in Los Angeles (maybe slightly more expensive). However, their customer service is TERRIBLE...
which leads to the bad things: THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. I called to ask a quick, simple question about uploading a photo. The woman I spoke to treated me like I was a moron. I brushed it off, thinking I wouldn't let one person answering the phones completely taint my opinion... I wish I would've listened to my instincts. A couple days later when I went in to approve my proofs and order multiples, I was treated by my customer service rep in a condescending manner like I was wasting her time. Also, there was another customer in there who I overheard talking on her phone about "how the people at argentum lost her disk that her 500 pictures were on." For the record, the woman was quite poised and handled this very well when she went back to talk to the customer service people. In the time I was observing this, I never once heard the argentum people apologize or act very concerned.
Bottom line, there's a lot of choices in LA to print headshots that offer comparable quality and prices. Based purely on my customer service experience, next time I need photo reprints, I won't be going back to Argentum. -

Argentum Photo lab has reasonable prices and sends prints to you in a reasonable amount of time. Also, their location is not crowded (street parking on Sunset Blvd.) and their front office has a cool ambiance.
Here are their BAD POINTS:
1. They make you pick-up your finished prints/headshots in-person at their office location (so if you live 30+miles away, you're out of luck)
2. Their prices are reasonable but a bit high
3. The invoice does not clearly state what headshots are being printed and the total amount your credit card is being charged so call/email them before for confirmation, otherwise they could print out the wrong headshot(s) and you're shit out of luck (beware because they are asses about this and will tell you to go somewhere else to get your headshots printed if you mention this).
4. The "owner" sends you an email that doesn't look like it's from Argentum and somehow jacks-up the price you have to pay
Here are their good points (unbelievable that they have good points):
1. Professional-looking prints/headshots
2. Discounts when you shoot with photogs who recommend Argentum
3. Usually fast service
4. Not in a crowded location -

Argentum is fantastic. The staff is friendly, helpful, and extremely professional.
I had headshots and business cards printed there and couldn't be more satisfied.
Andrew assisted me and answered all of my questions. He was extremely thorough and made me confident I would get exactly what I wanted.
I was originally thinking of double-sided business cards, but after Andrew gave me helpful advice, I opted for single-sided.
The options are endless, but the staff has well-trained input that you can trust. In addition, all of the options were presented visually so I could conveniently see which might work better for me.
I could not be happier! The prints came out stunning. Yes, there is a set up fee, but it is one-time only, allowing you to reorder without paying additional set up.
I'm thrilled Argentum allows me to see proofs of my product before printing. This is smart to do in case there might be unintentional errors. You feel confident they will deliver.
I am thrilled I chose to go with Argentum. Plus, I received a 20% discount because my photographer has a good relationship with Argentum.
You won't be disappointed when you choose Argentum! -

Argentum is top-notch. None other compare in Los Angeles or Hollywood. The quality is so classy and professional that I believe they stand out from the rest. I totally recommend Argentum for the ingenue or seasoned professional.

Our headshot photographer uses Argentum for online proofs which is why I am using them at all - After today, I will use someone else for printing for one reason - CUSTOMER SERVICE! Their's is lousy. In order to view your proofs you click a link that takes you to paypal and you have to pay $10 for 300 images for 30 days - Ok, fine. Only I paid and still could not view the images - so, I emailed them and no reply - finally I called and they tell me that they didn't get the payment - EVEN THOUGH I HAVE A RECEIPT and PAYPAL shows PROCESSED. Next they make me pay again - direct to them - and now I have to file a claim with Paypal to get my lousy $10 back from them. WHAT A PAIN!
The favorites feature on the electronic proofs is easy to use but doesn't make up for the terrible service.
In addition, I have used other printers that do the headshot layout for FREE (Argentum charges!), that have a faster turn-around (same day even) and charge less and the quality of the prints is the same.
In summary, I think this lab is extremely over-rated and would not recommend them. -

Argentum is wonderful!! I could not believe how great my headshots turned out compared to some of the other photo labs in town. I was referred to Argentum by a fellow working actor who has been working professionally in the industry for years and boy could she have not been more on the spot as to how great Argentum is! Kaitlyn was very helpful and even offered me bookmark-style headshots to hand to Casting Directors after auditions (something I'd never seen before). Argentum is the first place that comes to mind when I refer my friends to have their headshots printed professionally with quality.

Great service on each of the 4 times I've visited. The staff is friendly and attentive and would apologize even after I only waited 2 minutes. And my favorite part, they have their own parking lot in the back.
Prices are great, especially when you buy in bulk and claim the 20% off coupon code. After tax, my 200 8x10 headshots worked out to be about $.70 each? I used to pay $1.60 each at Costco's one hour.
They do charge a $25 set-up fee to frame and title your photo... or if you walk in with the headshot completely ready to print, they'll charge you $13 for the test.
It's a pain because you'll have to make at least 3 visits. First to place the order. Second, to view the test print, Third, to pick up your prints. And if you need a revision, well.. that's another visit you have to add. They refuse to do anything on the spot. I suppose this prevents people from asking for a million revisions.... -

Hands down the best place in town to handle your printing needs. I wouldn't trust taking my photos anywhere else! Their staff is fantastic and always makes my experience easy and painless. Sure you could go to the millions of discount reproduction places in Hollywood, but when it comes to my career, I'm sticking with the professionals. :)

I heard such great things about Argentum, I thought they'd be great. Unfortunately, they were rude and unhelpful.
Stick w/ Reproductions people. They're the real pros. -

Took forever to get retouching and prints. It's a huge factory, and well, mainly it takes forever to get stuff done there. I prefer Pixels on Melrose--the pricing is similar but they get the job done same day or by the next business day.

This place is a rip off!!! I went there to print 2 large photos and they charged me 20 dollars each!!! For only one picture they charge $20. Ridiculous! Like an idiot and not knowing anything about this I thought this must the going rates. Then I thought I should try another photo lab to print 3 more large photos so I went to Photomax on Sunset and they charged me only 7 dollars apiece! That's right people from $20 to $7. I was so displeased that I wanted to go back to Argentum and ask for my money back!!! One thing is certain: I will Never set foot there again.

Great Quality
Not TOO pricey
Lots of good services
Snobby, stuck up staff for the most part. I've been there about a dozen times for printing and all of the staff except for one guy is pretty stuck up. What can you expect though, in hollywood?
Other than that, go for the services, ignore the staff. -

Short Version: Great work and mellow attitudes.
Long Version: This photo lab does great work on digital reproductions and editing. Their prices are good (slightly lower than the average) and their staff are really relaxed and friendly. They can get backed up during the busy season, of course, and they get slammed because everyone in town knows what a deal they are. However, it's worth the wait. -

Argentum is an amazing place to go into to get something as simple and as beautiful as your headshots printed. Quality always satisfies me. If you dont know what you are doing, you will be guided through the process.
I am a common costumer and have overheard some confused fellow customers.... due to the fact that they didn't listen to the instructions that were being given by the staff
(Dude below..."snobby? stuck up?" sorry dude you must have been a dick customer who didn't pay attention to have said that about anyone that works there!)
It's not that hard to listen to their staff as they are super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Some girl with a nose ring helped me out ....strangely delightful.... she suggested I do a full bleed on a shot I wanted a border on....due to the fact that she pointed out borderless makes your photo LARGER and doest leave empty pointless space on the sides of your photo. So Great i'm 100 times happier with my layout now!
I had one problem with Argentum years back and I blamed Argentum...it wasn't their fault...... it was pointed out to me that the issue I had was with my photographer and retoucher... NOT Argentum. ...retouch your photos at argentum. It can get a little steep but who cares the best retouching i've seen on headshots.
KNOW what photo you want to print when you go in (Argentum's staff is not your manager or agent they dont pick our your photos for you)
.....and they will take the wheels from there. -

Argentum rocks. Pure and simple. They're the best combination of quality, service, and price you're going to find. If you're an actor (who in this town isn't?) wondering where the heck to get your rockin' headshots reproduced, go here...don't mess around with any of those *other* places.
You see, I speak from experience...I was lead astray by a well-meaning friend...I tried another lab (Graytone) only to have my proofs turn out slightly blurry and seriously color challenged (my hair looked orange in one shot...not good when your hair is actually dark blonde). To top it off, the guy running the desk when I went in got all defensive and blamed it on the retouching (my eyes had been whitened, that's it, yet this was to blame for my orange hair and skin?).
Luckily, I had the sense to run straight back to Argentum. They cheerfully welcomed me back and not only kicked out awesomely crisp, properly colored proofs, they did it in record time and with a "thanks for realizing we rock" discount! -

I can't believe there are any negative reviews about Argentum. I've been using them for about 5 years and any time I have tried any other lab, I've been let down. The staff at Argentum is super friendly and walked me through every step of the process when I didn't know what I was doing. That's why I chose to go back again and again. I now send everyone I know to them and never heard anything negative about them. They are the best!

I've had two different experiences with this photo lab. The first was average... the second was horrible. Not that they didn't try.... but after giving them multiple chances to get the darn thing right, each time being told that they'd need at least 24 hours turnaround- and this shouldn't have been rocket science, the shot was coming out muddy green - so green that my eyes weren't blue anymore!-- and they swore that they were doing everything they could....
BTW: I took the same digital file to Pixels LA on Melrose Ave. They printed the proof in under five minutes. It was perfect, (blue eyes, thank you!) and needed no adjustments. And I had all my prints by the next morning..... Argentum would have made me wait at least three or four days for them! -

I've gone to a few of the other headshot printing places around LA but they were always super sketch. I've just noticed a better quality print from argenum. The paper they use is super high grade and looks awesome.

I've been going to Argentum for several years. Their work is high quality and professional. The customer service reps are very helpful, especially the Latino guy who works there. He has a good eye for visuals and has twice made suggestions I was really happy with. My prints have always been ready when they said they would. If you use a photographer on their list you'll get a 20% discount. Sometimes they've given it to me anyway when I used another photographer. They aren't the cheapest in town, but their prices are fair. Knowing that I can always count on their high quality makes it worth it. As an FYI, once you pay for the set up fee on a job, it stays in their system so you can always come back and order more prints of that same job without having to pay the set up fee again.

Argentum is professional, quick, and has fantastic customer service. My entire experience with Argentum was wonderful. The first day I went in to just get 4 x 6s of a couple of different headshots. Marvin helped me and was fantastic at talking about ways to crop them, what to look for in a good shot, and ways to retouch them. It took my 2 visits before I picked which shots I wanted. When i returned to print up my 8 x10s I was helped by a girl (I hate to say that I can't remember her name) and she was very easy to talk to and answered all my questions. It was a quick process and I left feeling confidant. When I came back to proof my shots before the big reproduction Marvin talked to me about retouching them. Now, I know shots need to be retouched but I was concerned about having too much done. He assured me it would look natural and when I came back they were perfect. I now have great shots that I can't wait to send out to agencies. Oh and I had questions about different ways to get agents and Stacey was there to help with suggestions.
Overall, everything about Argentum blew me away and I will never go anywhere else to get headshots reprinted. They cost just as much as most labs in this town, and if you want the best, they are where you go. 100% happy -

I had a BAD experience with argentum. Some of the staff was very nice and helpful, and my headshot prints turned out nicely, but the online shots that they charged $10 each to re-size and "color correct" come out looking HORRIBLE. The colors were terrible, I have freckles and red hair, my freckles were gone, my hair was dull and the photos just looked washed out, the crispness was gone, they almost looked out of focus. When I called and complained I was told that there was nothing they could do. That the way the photo looked on their site, which is how you choose your photo, was not an accurate representation of what they could provide me with. When I said that they should tell people that, because you choose a photo based on the way it looks, they said they couldn't take the time to tell every customer. I paid aver $300 dollars for their services. Surely they can find the time to tell me EVERYTHING i need to know in order to get EXACTLY what I want from them.
One man in particular was rude, pushy, interrupting me and not even allowing me to explain what I wanted or thought was lacking. He has promised to try and work on the photos, I now need to wait another 24 hours for this, but has said all he can do is warm up the image. I cannot imagine that in this day and age, from a high quality photo lab, they cannot provide crisp, color correct photos. And if they can't, they should tell you before they charge 10 each ($70 total!!!) for "color correction" -

All Argentum cares about is getting you in and getting you out.
I felt rushed throughout the entire process. And for all the money I paid (every single time I visited), I expected a better experience.
I think they produce quality photos; however, the people that work there could care less about which photos you choose, which fonts look good and what border will stand out.
They want your money. And that's about it. -
