    The LAND of hot-mess-ness!

I've been here sooooo many times since I was 18. The first time we came, we just decided to go on a Wednesday night only because it was 18+ and not knowing anything else about. When we got there, it was pretty thug-life, so we thought we were just getting into a regular ole hip hop club, until we got in and thugs were making out with thugs, and cholas were making out with cholas! It was an awesome & unique sight to see.

The music on any given night (except tigerheat, which doesn't exist anymore), is usually a mix of hip hop and latin music, with a sprinkle of drag shows (the last I saw was Tina Turner.. and it was impressive!). If you get there early enough, on certain nights they have FREE catering (usually mexican food) and popcorn outside.

It's a huge room with pedestals holding half naked men, and for the observers, you can always hang on the balconies that go around the whole place. Nice big patio as well.

Oh, and around Halloween? POPPING. These people are crazies.

Ive been here enough times at 18 to realize that if you have nothing better to do just come here and dance.

We used to come up with sob stories to get in for free. One time I was standing in line and the bouncer called out a guy who was 14 trying to get in. Its just a place to dance and not really give a care cuz the dance floor is big enough

But dont go here if youre over 18 cuz they never card. The crowd is a little thuggish and there are batter clubs to go to.

The place definitely gets a little ratchet... but you sort of know that coming here in the first place. It's the only club I've gone to where I've been patted down before entering. Yeah, it's like that.

The music is good, though crazy loud. The crowd is definitely a little bit rougher than other gay clubs I've been to... but chill out people... I didn't see anything getting too crazy or out of hand. Everyone seemed to be there to have a good time, at least last night (Saturday).

The crowd wasn't particularly young, I guess that's a Tigerheat thing. Somehow, because it wasn't a gorgeous venue (and not really a great looking crowd), I expected the drinks to be cheaper than they were. Isn't that the standard formula? The prettier the decor and the patrons, the pricier the drinks? Perhaps I was mistaken, but that's been my experience elsewhere.

It was a nice time, I was with a good friend, so all in all, I was happy to be there. The wait in line was a bit excessive at 10:30pm, if I went back I'd go at 10:00pm to avoid that.

This place is always over crowded and impossible to move around, it's also small.
The only thing I like about this place is the quesidillas, sooo good to eat when you have drunk munchies.
But as for a club it's mediocer and full of underage kids.
If your 17 and under this is the place for you, but deff not my scene!

This place is awful.  Speaker quality was bad and lacked bass.  Half of the people stand against the wall and watch people dance.  The DJs are pretty good but the scene is just absolutely awful.  $20 entry?  Seriously?  I am staying home or taking my money elsewhere next time.

If possible I would give this place 0 stars.  We went here because all the other clubs in the area were 21 and over, and my friends and I just wanted to go clubbing.

The music is absolutely horrible and the venue is even worse.  The area is very GHETTO.  I'm usually not one to stereotype an area, but this place is bad.  There are so many shady people who go here, and even as a guy i don't feel safe at all.

I'm never coming here again nor would i suggest this place to anyone.

I was not impressed after an hour here and my friend's comment about this club was "Well this is what LA's club scene is like."  Now, I'll admit I've just moved back to LA after a two year hiatus, but maybe this is what the club scene is like for those that are under age, 'cause this was NOT what I remembered and I know it couldn't have changed that much.

Basically, line forming down the ally that would have taken an hour to go through if we didn't know a promoter, $20 entry fee (reduced to $10 'cause we knew the promoter), and call me a snob, but if someone had mentioned that it was and 21 and under club I would have stayed home or found other plans for the night... Drinks were NOT well priced (The place is divided into two floors, on the bottom is dance and those that are under age stay there, on the top is the bar and you must be 21, and there might have been 10 people plus my friends there up there... man did I feel out of place).

Music and go go dancers were fun... but the dance floor was one big grind fest of sweaty kids that that are probably still in high school, and the rest of them under 21.

    WON'T. GO. BACK.

I remember going here after I had just turned 18. After waiting in a long line, we walked into a packed room full of people dancing. There were male dancers in thongs on the stage and lots of people struggling to get on top of the elevated pillars to dance upon. Music consisted mainly of Madonna, Rihanna, Britney Spears, etc. Bathrooms were super crowded and dirty. Eventually, there was no difference between the womens and men's bathrooms.

For a gay night (Tigerheat), there was surprisingly a lot of straight men here. I guess they figured lots of women came here to avoid getting hit on.

The night ended with live performances from different Beyonce trannies.

If you are under 18, come here and get wild without the cops ever knowing.

If you are over 18, STAY AWAY and go to a real club unless you don't mind seeing 14 year-old girls half-nekked on drugs! I swear I saw kids looking like they were still in elementary school at this club on Thursday. Honestly, how are they going to let all these babyfaces into the club? It's not that hard to detect when someone is clearly under 15 years old.

Came here with my husband for a good ole wrestling show and it was awesome! I really liked the layout of the place. We watched the first half of the show down on the floor, and then the 2nd half from the balcony above. We bought a lot of drinks and had a great time. The womens bathroom was really clean. The food they served on the upstairs patio was good and priced well. The girl in the box office was friendly and there was no problem finding a seat, and security guards were all cool. Overall we had a great Saturday afternoon. MEXPW!!!!

Prettty nice, really fun on Friday nights, but could be better!

Idk how to describe it, but I think they should introduce a dress code...for some reason I think it would be better.

Security is very on top of there game which is pretty good, all the employees do a pretty good job...but enough about that!

The music is good considering the DJ, but transitions reallllly need to slow down, because it would be great.

Next time I prefer to be a bit more out of it, if you know what I'm saying ;) but overall I enjoyed my time there.

Parking prices, uhh wtf is this the staples center? no, but whatever

Water is $4 in here LOL, disneyland status. Although you'll neeed something it gets hot as helll on the dancefloor. Fun time though, will probably be back :)

Jail bait high school kids and fanny bandits are the norm here.
As much as I like the idea of being busted for lewd behavior involving minors or being hit on by MAC-wearing, tacky Ed Hardy-sportin' "thugs", I'll pass.

    Caveat smokers.
If you're stingy with your smokes (shit, you pay $5 for a pack, why wouldn't you be?), you may want to avoid the outdoor smoking patio on the second floor.  Pulling out a pack of anything (reds, menthols, lights, cloves) in that crowd will immediately make you a prime target for a phrase that has come to annoy me more than the passing of time:
'Hey, Bro.  Can I bum a cigarette?"

I will give three stars for the little cubby hole dance floor on the second floor that always has the best music...even if it's, like, 2 years old.  Are you kidding?  I can still cut a rug with a little Ace of Base.

The venue is really nice, but I went here for Tigerheat. Wow, this 18+ night has turned into crap. When something used to be gay but then turns straight, it's almost never a pretty outcome and Tigerheat is no exception.

Music was mostly okay but they played way too many songs that made you think "WTF? who in the world would dance to this?" Cover was $10 for Tigerheat (Thursday nights).

It was all girls. Tons of girls. I guess they feel safer at clubs that they think are gay. But turns out a lot of the lurkers here are straight. A friend started hitting on some shirtless guy who was dancing and the guy told him that he 'didn't play that way.' A shirtless straight guy dancing at a supposedly gay club and not doing it to pay for tuition? This place is a goner.

Drinks are expensive (for their size) and served in those 6 oz. plastic cups. I don't consider myself a snob when it comes to clubbing but puh-lease... you've just lost your chance at getting even two stars. This place didn't get that crowded. A little busy, maybe, but nothing more than that.

What's worse is that the smoker's area is placed so that whenever someone opens the door, a draft blows all that smoke air right into the club and on the dance floor... so you're dancing and breathing in all that smoke.

Tigerheat is like Ugg boots, popped collars, baggy jeans, and wristbands (i.e. lame if you're still doing it). Luckily this is Los Angeles and not Canton... plenty of other venues to check out.

On Thursday nights at the Arena, this place turns into Club TIGER HEAT :)

    Yes, it's an 18+ gaybar/club.
Yes, straight girls frequent this place.
Yes, they have 21+ upstairs with a full service bar.

The venue is kind of small, but they also have an upstairs bar area.

What did i learn from my experience? "I dance like a straight girl"

Dancing with these gay men is equivalent to dancing with an extremely wild girlfriend who could potentially be a "professional dancer". You WILL look at these guys and think, "OMG, I can't even do that!" Do i need to paint a mental picture?

So last night somewhat blew my self esteem. Don't get me wrong, I love gay men, BUT,  I learned that I can't dance for crap compared to these guys.

Straight guys- you'll be uncomfortable with the guys running around in booty shorts topless, dancing on the rails/stage/platforms.

Straight girls-you'll learn that you can't dance for crap (unless you happen to be a "professional dancer")

And the music? KIIS FM was there last night with the "famed" Dave Styles. By 11:30, they began playing KIIS FM's top 40.  DON'T.....EVEN.....ASK.

Arena's alright. Got in free thanks to a hook-up.

Music was good, no real complaints. I like that upstairs is 21 and over.
Barely found the patio with the food. Not sure how much drinks were here since all mine were bought for me. The Patron shots were $6 though that's all I remember. I also liked how they have that lounge/restaurant area upstairs.

    They lose stars for:
    - Um went here in June, they took our picture and were supposed to E-Mail them. Still haven't recieved them, and thank goodness for spam block had they sold our addresses.

    - Wtf are 12-14 year old children doing at a club at 1am? I'm not
    exaggerating either.

    - They need to spread the chairs closest to the entrance back a bit.

    - Some chick wearing a "I heart Haters" shirt and ONLY a "I heart Haters" shirt plus her heels in hand.

I might come back I might not. It's alright kind of hard to find and funner after two and 1/2 cocktails and a shot of Patron (Admitting Light weight)

This is a great place for you dancing junkies.

Tigerheat is their most popular night on the weekends when the place is packed - mostly due to the fact that Tigerheat nights are 18+. I am not much of a fan with high school dance clubs but, that said, this i still a fun place. There is a third floor with an open terrace for 21+ only which helps relieve the pain of high school memories.

    Busiest dance club in LA.

Parking is easy: $5.00 for fenced/secured parking which does fill up, so don't come too late. Conveniently located next to the 5.

IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE .0000002 STARS I WOULD.

i almost cried when i walked inside club "dance" after paying $10.  i had no idea it was all ages.  i'm not even sure why i went because i don't like dance clubs in the first place.  i felt like i was in a time warp to 2001.  i definitely have not seen so much neon in real life since then.  the bathroom was crowded and rude, little brats kept cutting in front of us.  now, at least i can handle moscow when i'm too drunk to remember being there... but i don't think any amount of alcohol could make this place tolerable for me.  we left and ate at toi so that the night wouldn't be a COMPLETE loss.  but i still want my $10 and that half hour spent there back.

I LIVE FOR WEDNESDAY NIGHTS AT THE ARENA!!!!

i'm not a club whore or anything, but i'm deffinately a whore for this club. i love the envirnmoent. BEST GAY/LESBIAN CLUB if your under 21. The people are soo nice too. Every week I go, i see the same group of people, some I have even seen at Long Beach & West Hollywood Pride, I call them my ARENA FAMILY..LAMO.. it's a great time && you don't have to be gay to enjoy it. I have brought so many of my straight friends here & they always seem skeptical before they get there, but end up coming back the next week!

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW IF YOU'VE NEVER BEEN HERE::
-it gets extremely hot!! wear the least amount of clothes as possible
-Each night is different, dont limit yourself
-usual cover charge is $10, $12 in the summer
-they do not card!!! so if your not 18 yet (but soon to be...lol) you can still get in on wednesdays
-DO NOT BATTLE ANYONE AT THIS CLUB!!!! many of these people go here weekly && prepare to be the hottest, sexiest, and baddest bitch in the club. trust me, they dont need the ego boost..lol

Ahh, the good old days of freshman year, rolling as Alex's fag hag. Pull two LGBT-affiliated kids from the east coast suburbs, and obviously we're going to infiltrate Tigerheat even if we can't drink yet. I was sad to hear that they'd moved TH from this venue to Avalon, since there were separate rooms for different styles of music and giant screens the music videos would play on. One of the bars was easily accessible from the entrance. Smokers congregated outside, rain or moonshine. By the end of the night, the floors would be slick with sweat and our group would be grinning from ear to ear. I used to have a photo of us that got snapped when I was wearing the crazy spandex studded top, but I'm probably better off not finding that ever again.

Granted I was maybe 19 or 20 at the time, so I give myself that excuse for being young and not knowing any better, but yeah Arena was some fun times. The thing that blows me away is that I actually did this sober! what what what?!

18&ups are never a good thing. 21 & over area is separate and upstairs. The bar  up there sucks. The bartenders don't know how to mix drinks and they are served warm in a cheap plastic cup.

The dance floor is full of horny teenage boys who try to cop a cheap feel on any girl that's willing to let them.

OK. Wait before you judge. YES I gave the Arena 5 stars!

I've been going to the Arena since I was 16 (yes yes yes I was underaged... AND??? haha) when it was Rewind run by the Events Company.

I've been here for hip hop events, gay events, electronica events, my friend's dj'ing events, their debuts, birthdays, sorority support events, crazy events, many people kissing at a time events, LOL (jk?) every event you can think of.

I've had LOTS of great times here. LOTS...  Tiger Heat, Rewind, Red, White Night (at the Arena's side club kind of next door)... you name it. When a place gives you that many laughs, heartbreaks, heartaches, drunk times, wonderful times, great new friends, great new memories how can I give it less than 5 stars?

ALSO, it's going to be torn down by the end of the year to make room for condos (per the promo companies in H-wood) so I must pay some tribute...

    :)

I came here for the first time yesterday to watch DJ Loli play her set. I was a little hesitant at first because it was an 18+ club, and we all know how those can be if done wrong. But I was very pleasantly surprised!

First off, this place is HUGE when compared to most places in LA. And I loved the fact that they had an upper area just for the 21+. It was a nice place to escape the crowd and heat. The 2 for 1 drink special also helped a lot. But the DJ's were bumpin' and I was dancing the whole night. I'm definitely goin' back next tuesday!

The Arena is a great club -- but for younger folks. It's known to be an 18+ club but I cannot tell you the countless times I went here underage and was never carded. SO because of this there are a lot of young, and I mean very young, people. The alcohol is served in a completely isolated portion of the venue and you have to wear a wristband and drink only in the secluded area for 21+ individuals.

If you come at a fashionably late time, such as 11:30 p.m. when the club is the most full, get ready to stand in line for up to a half an hour -- no joke. I've done that many times and it's probably because it is such a popular and massive venue. It also doesn't cost much -- $5 or $10 depending on the night and I think perhaps free if 21+ but am not positive on that.

The music here is really great if you like dancing to house, electro and other types of dance music. This is a Jeffree Star spotting venue. So funny to see that guy cutting the line in his hot pink pumps, matching wig and lipstick. Along with Jefree, most everyone in attendance here is gay-friendly.

Great go-go dancers, huge dancefloor, large outside smoking patio, coat check...it's an alright place but the venue is too nice for the crowd it attracts.  There's no seating here either.

Parking is 5 bucks, blah.  Considering that this is an 18+ edm night on Thursday, it's packed with high school kids who barely got into this rave-y-shuffling shiet.

It's an attractive young (mostly hispanic) crowd, what can I say.  Cover is normally 5-10 bucks which is standard for any 18+ electronic club.  Keep yourself updated because they do have free nights from time to time.

It's just one big room as the main dance floor and they have this upstairs balcony strictly for 21+.  The patio is nothing special - just a buncha kiddies bumming stogies off of other bums.  Annoying.

The only reason why I came was because I love this edm world to death.  I love the music, the atmosphere, the dancing, and pretty much everything that has got to do with electronic music ah!  Besides, it was a free night and security said I looked 13 lmao!

I wouldn't come here again for awhile.  Though it's fun, it gets too fucking packed to dance around freely without people constantly walking by or dancing right behind you.

This is about the Arena Lounge on Santa Monica Blvd. in West LA.  This is an amazing place its like a combination arcade, bar and dance club.  It can get loud and congested but for the most part it's nothing but fun fun fun.  The couches you sit on to play the video games are soooo comfy you want to take them home or stay as long as you can, you butt is numb when you leave too.   They have wall to wall game screens and huge tvs, subwoofers, and the couches vibrate with the action too so it's very interactive experience.  While it is a bar they dont have much selection however they encourage BYOB but I havent been back yet to see how that goes.

They have all the latest games and it's a great experience for a different night life option that doesnt involve waiting in long lines and getting too dressed up just to have a good time with your friends/

I love coming to this club, but whenever I come here, it is always filled with people under 18.

I love coming here with friends and just having fun.

the only thing is, The people who come here are all under-aged and  they all think that they are the hot sh*t when they are tramping around in nothing but their underwear.

Love coming here to dance the night away.

I know I said I would never leave Rage, but this place is awesome, always guaranteed to give one a good time with drinks hoovering around 6-8 dollars. Not too bad considering one could be enough to get you buzzed bring some more money for drinks and by nights end youll be waking up in some guys apartment by the name of Chi Chi Rodriguez. HA

But really, this place is great! I prefer the upstairs dance floor only because they seem to play songs I know, while the main dancefloor, I am not too sure what the whole intended theme of it is.

Look up on their website for special events because usually you can get in for about 5 dollars, or sign up for their text alerts which give you entrance fees for 5 dollars.

I have a lot of fond memories of this place. Some good, some not so good. It's a very lively environment and is frequented by a wide variety of people. Good collective mix of people from all over the city.

There is a different vibe and atmosphere at Arena than most of your trendy bars/clubs. It's actually very enjoyable and fun without the pretentious crowd.

    LA Club

street parking and valet, reasonably cover, full bar, 2 story club.  Depending on the night it can either be all-aged, mature, this crowd or that.  Generally the music is good and the crowd is open-minded and not shy about expressing themselves.  The Tuesday Dance Night is great: all-aged, hard dance, and separate short line for 21+ which also gets access to the upstairs bar, smoking patio, view, and lounge seating.
