I finally got my claim taken care of last week when I had a week off from work. It was fast and less painful than I thought it would be. So AAA had recommendations of shops that I could bring my car into to get it fixed. It would have been smarter of me to choose Daland Body Shop because it's closer to me and my work, but I went with Arco because I've seen their license plate frames on friends cars and randomly on other cars.
The agent at AAA told me they would forward my information to Arco and then connected me to the Body Shop. I forgot who answered the phone, but I let them know I'd bring my car in the next day at 12. I even had a Hertz pick up scheduled.
I got there a few minutes after 12 (sorry). Filled out some paperwork I talked to Miguel. We went outside to take a look at my car. I came in on a Thursday expecting to leave my car from then. He let me know that my bumper was cracked (which I couldn't tell at all) and with ordering parts and the holiday, I could just wait til next week to bring it back it or else it would have been sitting there. I liked that I could keep my baby still while we waited for the new bumper to come in. He estimated the new bumper would be there on Tuesday, so I said I'd be back on Tuesday. He even let me know they were going to detail my baby!
Come Tuesday (the day I had to go back to work after a week off) I was planning on getting to the shop by the time they opened at 7:30 because that was the only time I could get there. I made it in time to work after dropping off my car and getting the rental. Before I left Miguel told me he'd call me later and update me on the progress of my car. He kept his word and called me about 12pm that day, letting me know that there was more damage behind the bumper and that it was going to take a few more days to repair because of this underlying damage. It became 5 days instead of 2. That was fine because I had a rental.
This morning I got a call from Miguel that my car was actually finished earlier than expected and that it was ready for pickup! Unfortunately, it was already 8AM when he called and I had to get to work (my commute is ~1hr into the City).
The customer service here is EXCELLENT. I felt comfortable for handling this claim by myself (usually my dad helps me with all my car stuff). Miguel was very personable, he remembered me when I walked in on Tuesday and always had a smile on his face, even over the phone.
The only thing I have to say that's semi-negative is that I wish they were open a lil later, then I would have picked up my car today. They close at 5:30, and I get off at 5 coming from the Marina I wouldn't make it. Monday morning will have to do. -

I heard about this place through word of mouth and not through yelp.
My issue with this place was not being helped in a timely manner. Am I impatient, OH YEAH, and probably to a fault. I waited 10 minutes before talking to someone about an estimate. If the place was busy with customers then I wouldn't have minded but I was the only one there. I guess everyone takes lunch at 3pm.
Miguel who was the only person in the office when I arrived ignored me. No hello - no nothing. He wasn't eating, he didn't have a client, he wasn't on the phone and wasn't even on the computer. I've had better reception at Rite Aid and Walgreens.
My second issue with this place was trying to set up an appointment. Got an estimate from Juan and called a few days later to schedule a time to come in but the receptionist couldn't do that?? I was transferred to Juan's voicemail 3x and never received a call back that day or the next. Went elsewhere.
After posting my review the owner sent me an email to apologize for his statf. I'm just sorry I experienced this place on a non-5 star day like all the reviews boast.Comment from Emilio A. of Arco's Auto Body 11/15/2011

Miguel at ARCO was the best. So professional and friendly I can't say enough good things. I took my car in to be repaired and the pros at this shop made it look brand-new. They even helped me with rental car from Hertz and arranged to have everything pass through my insurance company! No hassles and no worries, at all! Oh yeah, I used a YELP Coupon and got a FREE detailing. We need more companies like this! Great Service With A Smile - What America Was Built On!

So, I had a little fender bender (on my birthday, no less) and had to get my entire bumper replaced. So where do I go? Arco's Auto Body. And let me just say that it was a great life decision.
1) Office is clean and welcoming. I love when I walk into an office and get the sense that I can trust whoever works there based on the organization I can see.
2) Personable employees. I felt respected as a customer and really felt like my car was important to them.
3) They were on time. I HATE when car places give you a date and time and then when you call and confirm they say that they need a little more time. They said it would be done Friday at 5 and it was done Friday at 5. And the best part? They actually drove my car to my house to accommodate my work schedule. If that's not customer service, I don't know what it is.
As much as I hope that I will never have to return (knocks on wood), I will be sure to choose Arco's Auto Body in the future. -

I recently got in a car accident right smack in the middle of the holidays and I was frantic because I knew I would need to get it fixed and was worried about not having my car ready before the New Year. I went to Arco's Auto Body shop which was referred to me by my insurance and just checked it out to get a quote.
When I arrived there, Miguel took a look at my car and even suggested that I check out other places if I wanted, but they were so nice and helpful and the place looked so legit that I told him that I didn't want to look anywhere else.
So they ordered the parts right away to cut out wait time while I went through the motions of getting a rent a car. By the time I got my rent a car and was able to leave my car off at Arco's Auto Body, the bumper for my car had already come in! That took off 4 days of my wait time!
Miguel quoted that it would be ready by the 30th, right before New Year's! Also, he followed up with me every couple of days to let me know what was going on and how far along my car was. I love places that give great customer service and this is def one of those places.
When my car was ready I was a little worried because I didn't get off work till 5pm, and they close at 4:30pm and when I voiced this concern to Miguel, he offered to have someone drop it off to my parents' house! I thought that was amazing of them to do that.
When I got home, sure enough, my car was in the driveway, looking better than when I first got it! It was even fully detailed! Where else can you get that kind of service??!!
This is my first time writing a Yelp review and I'm only doing it because I was that happy with this company and all the help Miguel provided. SUPER AWESOME! SUPER TWO THUMBS UP! -

I had not been in an auto accident in years. Unfortunately, soon after purchasing a new car, I found myself going through the accident and repair process sooner than expected. It was a new car so not only was I heavily disappointed, I was very concerned about getting it restored to what it looked like in the showroom a few weeks before my accident. Luckily I found Arco's Auto Body (and their service representative Miguel)! Together with the help of my insurer (State Farm), Arco's made the whole repair side of the process far easier than I remember it to be.
Miguel went above and beyond my expectations. He was fair with his repair quotation, always very polite, made sure to keep me informed of the repair process and progress, gave me repair advice about another car, and, allowed me to pick up my car when it was most convenient for me to do so.
If you are unfortunate enough to get into an accident - like me - I can tell you that Arco's is a place you should definitely check out! -

I had a hit and run last week. This place was recommended by my insurance company, checked the reviews on yelp and decided take my car in for at least the free estimate. Gene helped me out, very friendly and helpful. He finished my estimate in about 10-15 minutes. He was able to answer all my questions and so I decided to leave my car there and get the body work done.
My car was there for about a week; they called me several times giving updates on my car. When I picked up my car, Gene pulled it up to the front. Showed what they did. And my car looked emaculate! They did such a great job. And the detailing of my car was so good. If I ever need anything I'll definitely go back. -

Hands down the best auto body shop I've ever encountered! I got into a fender bender and knocked my entire right headlight out. My insurance company referred me to them, and I was skeptical as I always am when it comes to getting anything done to my car. They were so easy to work with and so accommodating!
First, they towed my car for me from Daly City while I was at work. The minute they got the car, I was given a quote immediately about pricing and timing. They told me 10 days and were done in 8! They even helped me get a rental car and gave me a ride over to Hertz to pick it up. Everyone was extremely helpful. I'd definitely have my car detailed here! -

I had my car shipped from NJ to here a couple years ago by truck. The idiot driver was moving my car and smashed my rear window of my SUV and did a cheap crappy express fix, when I went to pick up my car there was tape on the windows, my rear wiper was missing, and there was a 1 inch indentation in the rear body where I could stick my finger under the window.
Arco gave a quick detailed printed estimate with exact charges. They said it would be finished in 4 days and they finished in 3! cost was about $1100 with body work, new window, paint and clear coat, new wiper and heating element install! Looked like new, I did not have to pay, so I was pretty happy. They even gave a ticket for a free car wash at near by South SF car wash on El Camino!
Real professionals, would use again! Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for in service and results. -

Was referred here from the insurance company of the person who hit me, and boy was i glad. I never usually read reviews or go by the reviews but this was for a big deal aka my car so i needed to pick the best out there. Gonna make this short, my front lisc. plate was dented and the bumper was messed up but that was from a prior accident and he fixed that for me as well no charge, well all the charges for the damages went to the other insured. When i dropped off my car , knowing i was in a rush they took me to the rental place nearby to pick up a rent-a-car free, so courteous, instead of waititng around. Miguel is a genius i appreciate everything he did and beyond. Also gave my car a free detail, i mentioned the deal i saw on Yelp.

I've been meaning to write this review for some time considering I've picked up my car back in January. My Honda Civic was stolen a couple days before Christmas and was recovered in Oakland. My insurance (Allstate) asked me to chose one of their "Pro shops." I went on Yelp to find suggestions and I found Arco's. In fact, one of the Yelp reviews was written by one of my friends, Charlene L. and when she suggests something, I listen. I asked her what she thought about Arco's and she said she "swears by them.' So I went ahead and chose Arco's....and I'm glad I did. I would definitely suggest them to anyone who needs a body shop.
I worked with Juan the entire time and he gave me outstanding service and quality work. In fact, Juan even met up with me on a Saturday morning to pick up my car even though they were closed (I live in San Jose and happen to have plans in Daly CIty, so we were able to pick up the car on the way there). Juan and the staff were very good at getting my car back to normal. Actually, my car came back looking better than before. It feels like a whole new car. I love having my commuter car back!!

Check your bad female Asian driver comments before you go on reading...
I have gone here twice. Once when a car scooted out of its driveway and clipped my car on the side and another time when my beloved car got totalled by a beer truck that just didn't see me. TOTALLED!
The staff here is professional, courteous, and willing to work with you as far as timing and helping you find a rental car (they have an Enterprise rental desk there). The work they do on detailing your car once it's done is amazing. My busted ride was looking brand spanking new when I was done. The totalled one, well, there was no going back, but they were sure to keep me posted as far as what needed to happen next and where I needed to direct inquiries. I felt like I was in good hands. No doubt.
As a woman, I didn't feel gross or icky about the people who worked there (like you would at other garages). They spoke to me with the utmost respect and regard, and I have seen them work with other clients and were the same with each one.
And both of those accidents? Not my fault! I swear it! -

I would love to give Arco's a better rating because ALMOST everything went great: customer service was awesome, they fixed the obvious problem, etc.
Here's where they went wrong: they didn't check EVERYTHING that could have been wrong where I got hit. I got rear ended in a parking lot (hit and run). They looked for all the dents and scratches but no one (including myself) thought to open the trunk door. The trunk door got skewered slightly out of place (unnoticeable except when opening and closing the door). And, yes, I fault them for not checking my trunk. Isn't it their job to check the car out properly? I'm not a pro at checking out cars after car accidents. Yes, of course, they could have thought, "That problem with the door must have been there before." But they double checked everything else (this scratch, that scratch, etc.). It wasn't until 1 month later when I actually used my trunk that I noticed the major problem (squeaking and hard to open and close).
On the bright side, if you want to agree with the other reviews, go for it. Give Arco's a shot. But make sure you double check everything! They aren't perfect! -

Wow! I felt like I took my car to the Four Seasons. My insurance company referred me to this place after someone sideswiped my LR2 (nice). The client rep called me within 30 minutes of me reporting the "accident" (it was parked on the street and I was not there, so really it was a hit and run). When I got there, he walked me through everything and told me he'd call me in the afternoon with a quote. He did just that and sent the quote off to my insurance company. Got quick approval. Told me the timeline for completing the work and followed up with me periodically to keep me informed about their progress.
The car was completely detailed inside and out when I went to pick it up. The rep explained everything that was done and then noticed some dust on the car, so he had the crew clean it up again.
FIVE STARS without hesitation. BTW - my client rep was Miguel. -

I think I will start with Miguel. He's an absolutely stand-up gentleman. His customer service was spectacular. He kept me posted on the repairs practically every other day. He informed me of all the work him and his crew were doing from day one until the day I picked up my car. Now lets to the meat and potatoes of this review. I had gotten into an pretty severe accident in my Acura RSX (drivers side and front end), there was almost $10,000 worth of damage. I have never been happy with auto repairs.When I got my car after Miguel told me it was ready, I was so nervous because I know it would never be the same again, However, I swear my gut and jaw dropped right to the floor when I saw it. It looked better than when I first laid eyes on it years ago when I first got it. The color was perfectly matched, it drove like new, there were not uneven parts that were not buffed out, even the wheel and rim that were severely scratched up was repaired perfectly. I was worried about the suspension, but it really drove like new. Ask him to see the photos of before and after (if he allows it), because the before and after photos will tell you how their passion for their work translates into pure gold. They truly work miracles.
The second part to this story is approximately one week later. My Acura RSX was parked on the side of the road and the drivers side rear end was plowed into by someone who dropped a cigarette. Anyway, this time I knew my car was done for because it moved from the side of the road onto a neighbors driveway. Again, I had to go back to Miguel. Miguel again did all the estimates and kept me posted from day one and wished me the best even though we both knew it was pretty hopeless. Of course this time I brought the bad news to Miguel because there was going to be well over $13,000 worth of damages. When I arrived at the shop, he showed me all these little details that I personally would not have noticed. He showed me the passenger door and the hood were both misaligned along with some damage to the rear passenger side wheel.(Remember that the drivers rear side was impacted). Ask him to see the photos of this one, this was really bad. Honestly, taking a quick glance I would have not noticed it, but Miguel being the professional he was did his job above and beyond what was called upon him. Especially since he did all this work and did not even get a pay out for his detailed estimate. He was extremely patient with a great smile on his face even though this was such a time consuming process.
Lastly, Miguel himself drove me home because I did not have a ride back to the house because my car was at the shop! Amazing, what shop of any kind does that? Talk about personal service.
In conclusion, I would go back there if I need anymore body work done because they clearly are the best at what they do and I could not be more satisfied and amazed at how spectacular their crew is!

I have been coming here for just about 10 years (not a good thing to brag about, but they are THAT good). Every time I come back, I am treated with the same courtesy every time. Everyone is very friendly and professional. You wouldn't understand how they manage to provide that type of environment while maintaining that family feel to them.
When My car gets hit again (and it will, as Juan or Miguel would expect), I will be back. 5-Star service GUARANTEED!!!

Miguel and Gene are absolutely outstanding! Customer service is truly excellent and rare They have excellent communication in keeping you updated on the vehicle status. Even finished three days ahead of schedule before the weekend with the car detailed better than the dealer does! After a collision, never did I ever feel disrespected nor felt that they were anything but there to get down to business and get the job done once and do it right. Arcos Auto Body, you guys are all really, really awesome!

I took my Camry there last century (they were on Canal St. then) when it got side-swiped while parked. They did a fast and beautiful job. Car looked like nothing happened.
So when I got rear-ended by some nitwit in 20mph heavy traffic, ARCO was again my choice to get the job. My back bumper was all but hanging from the body. ARCO got it replaced, painted, and even detailed it a bit. We were coming back from vacation when we got hit, so it was dirty. But our van was sparkling when we picked it up. The invoice said, "NO CHARGE".

If I could give Arco's 10 stars I would...they are by far the best body shop in the Bay area!
I just picked up my car from Arco's and could not be more pleased with their work. My car actually looks and feels better than it did when I dropped it off. The facility is very clean, the staff is incredibly friendly (my contact was Miguel--he is AWESOME) and the work was done on tiime--I am very impressed! -

Arco's Auto Body is great!
They were referred to me by my insurance agent (State Farm) and I am glad that I took her advise. Miguel guided me through from day 1; even before my insurance claim had been filed. And once my car was in the shop, he made sure that I was updated every few days on the progress.

I have brought my car there several times over the years for body work. They have great service, are very accomodating and have professional state-of-the-art work stations. Their workmanship is impeccable as well. Just recently, they installed new running boards for my ML350 and did a nice job.

We've used Arco a few times and are always impressed. Arco is completely professional and courteous. More important, they do an excellent job. They unexpectedly had my car ready a day later than promised, but in return I received a free detail with wax. They also shampooed my trunk liner. I had a repair done to the side of my bumper and they fixed the other scratches on the back at the same time without me even asking. I made the mistake of going to another shop for another repair and will never do that again. Arco is so much better in every aspect.

pretty interesting. i've never heard of a garage that would actually drive to where you are and pick up your car from your garage and then , when it's fixed, actually drive the car back to your garage to give it back to you. pretty weird huh? amazing. you can pay by credit card over the phone and (i assume) therefore, never even see the garage. well, it was fairly convenient. took it there for the initial estiamte and i can also say that i've hardly heard of a garage that would really STICK to the initial estimate either and they did that too. to the penny. again, very impressive. location might be a minus but hey:
1. stuck to the estimate.
2. estimate was the cheapest of 3 garages
3. car looks great (it was some body work)
4. they even washed the darn thing, inside and out
5. did i mention they picked it up from my condo in the inner sunset and dropped it off there when it was done.

I have used Arco's body shop for several years with my Honda Civic Hatchback - I was rear ended 3 times - not my fault. I was concerned about getting body work done on my car and my Honda Service dealer and insurance company recommended Arco's. Now I would NEVER go anywhere else for body work. Arco's had to do a considerable amount of work on my car after the accidents and I always experienced outstanding service, professionalism and workmanship.
Last week my new Honda Fit got some dents and scratches in the back right passenger door ;(( and I took it to Arco's on Victory in SSF. This time Miguel helped me and he was amazing! He is very professional, knowledgeable and friendly - as are all of the Arco's staff and specialists I have met over the years. Today my car came back looking even better than I expected. Arco's never disappoints, they have high standards and they do outstanding work every time. From my experience they are artists because they produce such consistently high quality work and match body and paint just like when the car is brand new.
Arco's has a very efficient check in and out process and they help you get a rental car if you need one - they value your time and understand that you have to get back to work and expect the best service.
Arco's also do the best detailing service I ever had - I used it several times with my Honda Civic and the car came back like new!
Thank you Miguel for your oustanding service today and to the rest of the Arco Team. I highly recommend Arco's to anyone needing body work or detailing. -

Wish I could get rid of that damned target on any vehicle I drive... I've brought my car here three times and they've always given me my car back as promised schedule-wise. The staff (yes, Miguel and Jose) stay on top of things and give updates as they work on it. Unbelievable reason to see him today, a handtruck hit my car... you know, the ones those delivery guys use to delivery goodies like beer, sodas, Chinatown veggies and fruits. Thought I was part of a movie scene as my car was moving when the dreaded handtruck conked me. Gotta bring my car back next week as they think there is a cheaper/faster way to fix it. Most body shops will tell you how much more you should spend to repair it. These guys are for real and care.

Personally, I hate anything to do with cars and mechanics becuase I always feel like I am getting swindeled. However, my car is treated like a bumper car in the city....and I just didnt have time to get it fixed. I tried (and Juan can vouch for me) every cheap way to fix it (because I just didnt have time and the people that drive in the parking lots are convincing they can fix it for cheap) and my dents would get worse and worse. I finally sucked it up and found Arco's Body shop. This place is clean, Juan and Miguel are very nice, honest sincere people. I was going to sell my car after getting it back but now that it looks so good, I am keeping it!

This place is great. They give personalized service, and they know their business. I originally went here when my insurance referred me here for a hit and run. After they finished the repair, you could not tell where the work was done, (and I do know how to tell). Since, I have returned as they also do very good mechanical work, separately from the body shop. I have been very impressed with them and will continue to return here and recommend them to others.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!! I think the first time I patronized this place had to be four years ago at their old location. WOW, how time flies! Well they did a great job with my little 1992 Toyota Corolla and made it look better than when I first brought it in. From that point forward, I was hooked! I've now upgraded my vehicle and drive a Mazda 6 and moved to the East Bay. I've had a few incidents with my vehicle and needed work done and every time they NEVER disappoint. They come through for their customers and work well with the insurance company and its painless!
The most recent incident I had with my car messed up the front bumper. I didn't go through my insurance company due to the nature of the incident and Arco's Auto Body came trhough for me again. It was awesome they made my bumper look like new for the GREATEST price. I couldn't believe it. It made the commute from the East Bay to the Peninsula well worth it.
I just want everyone to know how great a company this place is and everyone should patronize this auto body shop if you want QUALITY work done to your vehicle for a GREAT price.
They even have this great deal for their customers that if you rock their license plate cover you can get a deal on getting your car detailed. I mean you can't loose with Arco's. Oh! They also have great employees who are extremely friendly and helpful. (Nowadays you all know how hard it is to find good customer service.) You won't be disappointed coming to Arco's Auto Body! -

Talk about a place the goes the extra mile for you.......
The employees are so friendly and on top of their game. I had work done on my car last year when I was rear ended and went in again for a magical detailing service this week. Miguel remembered me, my car, what the work done was etc. and took oh such good care of me and my car again this time. I asked if he could order me a cab to get home while they were working on my car, but instead he had Victor give me a ride home from the shop so that I did not have to pay for a cab. How nice is that????
Oh and I guess I should mention that everytime they touch my car it comes out complete PERFECTION!!!!!
I was reffered to Arco's from the person who rear ended me and I am more than happy to send anyone and everyone their way. EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE ALL THE WAY AROUND!!! -

I had to come back to them unfortunately. Not that I had a bad experience with them but I would have preferred not to spend the money. This time Gene helped me. He was professional and polite and they did a great job.

This place is awesome and it's funny cause it's right across the street where one of my friends works at. I just got my brand new, to call my own, 2006 Honda Civic EX sedan. I was with two of my friends in the city and was heading back home, trying to go to the 101 along the Embarcadero but sadly, there was a LOT of traffic. It was a 2-laner and the light was green on an intersection so I started crossing slowly to the other side. Then all of a sudden, this dumb B**** (excuse my language, but she was) who was trying to merge onto my lane coming from my right side by taking a right turn rear ends my right side corner panel in her Grand Cherokee. I was so mad but held my temper in and she acted all like omg, I'm so sorry...the usual act they put up. We then were recommended to this place so we tried it out. Juan and Miguel helped us out and were really nice and kept us with the updates of the car. It took them a little less than a week for it to be completed and once me and my mom came back, we were amazed of the refined work they did. My car sitting outside the lot looked BRAND new. No hassles whatsoever. I seriously recommend this place for auto body repair. Great service and flush repairs be it auto body or whatever.

This is a FIRST CLASS Operation through and through! Dealing with an accident, deductibles, insurance, estimates is never an easy task, but getting to take the car to Arco's is actually the one upside. They are efficient, honest, professional and very friendly. From the moment you walk in, they have you at ease. It is definitely not the kind of place where you feel like you are going to be taken either. I had some work done on my car there after being in accident and it came out looking amazing. Their work is impeccable and their customer service puts them far ahead of any competition! Gene, Juan and Miguel alone make this place worth going back to! My State Farm Agent referred me here and I will never go anywhere else again! They come highly recommended and even provide detail services!! They really do an amazing and thorough job on any service, but again their highly attentive and professional customer service is what keeps me coming back! Arco's really is the best of the best!

I plowed my poor little miata into a tree a few years back and thought for sure it was totalled. Well, according to my insurance company it was only a couple of hundred dollars away but they were able to save it. After they were done it had never looked, felt or handled better, they warrantied the work, and they even took some of the extra paint and put it in a little nail polish type jar so I could touch up scratches down the road (which I'm sad to say I've used a few times since).

I recently brought my car into Arco's after being rear-ended. They repaired my bumper in just one day. They left the car very neat and clean (cleaner than when I had brought it in!). Everyone was so friendly and polite and helpful. They called when they said they would. They opened doors for me. They helped me with the rental car aspect of all of it. Even though a car accident can be a very stressful event, the staff at Arco's Auto Body helped to make it seem not-so-bad after all. Thanks!

These guys are great! Customer service is fantastic, the work was flawless and finished on time as promised, and they even detailed my car for me after it was done. If you get in a fender-bender, have no qualms about bringing your car here.
