My GoTo movie theater for Big Blockbuster Midnight showings!! I love that I pick my own seats way ahead of time.
I love that there are never little kids or immature movie-goers around. (knock on wood) -

great neighborhood theater if you don't mind cashing in a weeks paycheck for a ticket. Seriously...you need an extra 40 dollars just to wipe clean a pair of 3D glasses for me? They're not even prescription!!
Still, price gouging aside, the quality and techy stuff is swell. great picture and sound...left the hunger games with an arrow in my rib...that was painful.
Clean the seats a little more often every decade, mm'kay, and this place would be top notch. Either way, I'm still coming to the movies. -

Cleanliness standards have really fallen. In theatre 11 on 5/11/12, the seats were so visibly dirty that I felt like I wanted to line thine with napkins before sitting down.
On our last visit, there was a woman PANHANDLING in the theatre. I was so shocked... honesty had no idea how to react.1 Previous Review: Show all »

My experience at Arclight theatre can be chalked up to two words: LAPD report.
Relaxing and watching a movie in their theatre, I notice a man behind me reach into my purse next to me and run off with my wallet and phone in hand. My friend ran after yelling for the Arclight staff to call security and that a robbery was talking place.
The man got away and not a single Arclight staff member made an effort to close the doors or even call the police.
So enjoy getting robbed on the ticket pricing, popcorn pricing and personal grand theft as no apparently cares about the safety of its patrons. -

This place is a clip joint. The parking is supposed to be $3.00 with movie validation. Sometimes the validation thing doesn't work or the machine doesn't read it correctly and it charges your credit card $12.00; while I was disputing this charge an extra $3.00 was charged due to the time it took to dispute the first charge; a total of $15.00 for parking and they wouldn't refund any of my money. LAPD refused to take a report so I will be taking Parking Concepts Inc. to small claims court. I'm sure they get away with this scam hundreds of times per day and most people just grin and bear it; the police really need to do something about this type of fraud...perhaps a sting operation with cameras...I'm sure we are dealing with grand theft and fraud here; probably thousands per day.
As a person, who comes from one of Hollywood's pioneer film families, I find this place ostentatious, déclassé, and embarrassing mainly because it is a front for a criminal enterprise; Parking Concepts Inc...putting the 'con' in concepts. -

Awesome picture. Awesome sound. It's the Arc Light, I expect the best when I make the extra effort to go see a film at the Arc Light. I saw the cast and crew screening of Warrior in the Dome and it was great. Even the director stood up and thanked everyone for coming and working on the film and was in tears. It was beautiful. Before that I remember waking up to the Arc light and seeing all the transformers hanging around outside.
The Arc light being in Hollywood there's always something exciting going on. -

I spend a good portion of my free time and money on films and I'm very picky.
This is the best theater in L.A. and very well managed.
In the past 10 years, I've never had a problem with the sound and projection at this theater. With almost every movie theater switching over to digital, I'm noticing more and more sound and projection problems with other theaters since they fired their projectionists and have replaced them with monkeys that has no clue what they're doing.
The crowds here are also pretty good. I've never seen or heard a baby in any theater, and there generally aren't people talking and texting throughout the entire film. It seems like most people who visit this theater respect film. -

This place is a 6-stars out of 5!
I've NEVER been to a better movie theater. No joke. The 1,100 reviews on here for it with a 4.5 star rating speaks volumes. Never seen those type of #'s.
I went for the first time last week, saw CABIN IN THE WOODS.
The premises is huge, elevators take you underground.
The DOMED ceiling of the theater is awesome, screens are huge HD-quality... sound is amazing. It's just an awesome theater.
When the SHERMAN OAKS one opened I loved it and thought it was the best every. Wrong... this is 10X better!!! -

Where to start?
Arclight Hollywood is one of my favorites! The dome is a great time in itself... But just the cinemas alone are refreshing. Always clean!
I often purchase my tickets online (by often, I mean 98% of the time), so I adore reserved seating. I also get to feel environmentally conscious, because I don't have to print out my ticket... They'll just scan the nervosa off of my phone's screen. So far, i've only seen arclight doing this.
Seats are comfy. Concessions are on pat every other arena/stadium/theatre... But Arclight also has some of the bestest caramel corn ever! (it was feature.on food network's "Best Thing I Ever Ate") I highly recommend that you get a regular popcorn and a caramel corn... then dump the caramel corn in with the popcorn.... Great treat! -

I used to live in Hollywood only a few blocks away from this theater. I have to say although it is pretty expensive it is one of the better theaters I've been to.
The best thing is the reserved seating. You can get baked in the parking lot and walk right into the movie without having to sit through the previews because you already got a seat!
Parking lot attached is attached which is convenient but it's a couple dollars even if it's validated.
The worst part is the pricing. Even with one of those stupid member fucky fuck cards. It's still expensive. If you have the money or going alone than it's worth it. Take a date there and you're dropping at least $50 with tickets, snacks and parking.
Best part?
I went here with my lady on our first real date. We saw Iron Man 2 on opening night.
Iron Man and Swingers walk out before the movie starts to introduce it. WHAT!
That's a memory I will never forget. Fucking bad ass! -

Always an amazing experience at Arclight. Very friendly staff, unique snacks, an awesome cafe to eat before or after your movie and might i add, they always write down your movie time and even if you only have 20 minutes, they will have your food to you on time. Theater is always temperature controlled, they show old movies, new movies, 21 and over where you can havea drink. Great location, good parking, and always someone nearby should a problem arise. Go to Arclight hollywood, and you might catch a glimpse of a movie premiere too!

Uhhmmm, I only want to see movies here for the rest of my life. Of course this may be a little difficult seeing as how I live in Michigan, but a girl can dream right? I'm encouraging advancements in teleportation just so I can come here every Friday night.
Perfect scenario--a great location in Hollywood for fun before and after a flick, lovely facilities (including the awesome throwback that's Cinerama), tasty popcorn (this can make or break a movie experience), huge comfy chairs, massive theatres and screens, even a little gift shop in the front. Cray!
Of course the main draw is the assigned seating. Bought tickets to opening night of the Hunger Games and didn't have to get there crazy early to stake out a seat. Just showed up right before previews and BOOM. An excellent seat without the hassle. Fantastic!
The tickets are definitely pricier but I'm happy to pay for the convenience of not having to get there an hour early to get a good seat, especially when I'm on vacation and ever hour counts! I look forward to my next visit when I'm in LA next. That is, until they're able to just beam me up!Listed in: Fun Nights Out, Movie Madness, California Adventures, Pop Culturey Spots, Hollywood!

Arclight i believe has established itself as the premier movie theater chain among to main ones. Overall arc light does go above and beyond to ensure that the picture and sound is perfect, there theaters are usually cleaned and the customer service is unique.
Theaters are clean.
Customer service is great, mainly because they hire movie buffs. However be warned, the people that work here honestly and full heartily love movies, so don't get suckered into asking how a movie is without being prepared to hear the employees full on analysis and thoughts on the movie.

This is my favorite place to watch a movie!
The cinerama dome is an experience in and of itself with its superior sound (though it can be too loud at times, just a warning). Although the Grove has started following suit, Arclight has been doing the reserved seating thing for a while now. The seats are always clean and very comfortable. It's super easy to get tickets online (with a discount if you become a member which is free) and pick them up at the theater. Parking is very easy too since the garage is connected and is validated.
It also doesn't hurt that they have bar in the lobby and a nice little store which is a good way to kill time if you are waiting for people or arrive too early. If you go later at night, it's very possible you'll see celebrities there too. I've seen Stana Katic and Terrell Owens there. -
Review from Sophia C.
I will admit, I am not a diehard movie fan unless I genuinely want to fork out money to finally do so. And once I do, me and the Conn man usually aim for a Arclight to go to. Why? Assigned seating baby!!! No need to camp in lines to compete with tweens dying to see the next big film.
But of course, with the luxury of not having to fight for seats comes the price. Matinees run for $14, but if you watch a movie specifically in the dome, such as we did for the Hunger Games, then be prepared to shell out $16/pp...for a bloody matinee!!!! WTF, can I at least get a complimentary candy bar with that price?!?!!?!?! Nope...all you're handed is your ticket back with a giant whiff of the buttered popcorn ust that fills the place! But no no no...don't just get the regular ol' popcorn here.
I will not lie...their caramel popcorn is to die for! Shoot...I think it's even been mentioned in one of those Food Network/Cooking Channel shows that the Arclight theatres are known for this. I will say this: one bite of this sugary popcorn and you will definitely be fighting for some more.
Ok, with snacks at hand, reserved seating and you're ready to enjoy the movie experience. The chairs are comfy here and not tiny seats like you'd have on an airplane. The sound quality here is great and you do really feel like a "celebrity" with the movie experience you'll have here.
Ka-Pow...so with a basic drink, caramel corn, 2 adult matinee tixs AND pay for parking... you'll be out $50-$60. Did you read that right? Yes, yes you did.
So yea...come here for a movie you GENUINELY want to check out with that pricing! -

Visited here many times. I'm even a member of the club with the theater. Overpriced tickets, popcorn that's eh and dirty bathrooms don't even make up the reason for the 2 stars...
My last visit here I was given a scratch off ticket and won a "buy one get one ticket free." When I returned to use this ticket a week later, I was told it was expired. There was no expiration date on the ticket, so I asked to speak to a manager. The manager told me that the promotion was expired, the company they contracted to make the coupons didn't print the date on them by accident and there was NOTHING she could do. How does a company give out coupons with no marked expiration date and then refuse to honor them? This is the worst I've ever been treated in public by a customer service "manager." I was accused of attempting to use the coupon after a mystery expiration date and then told that they are able to refuse any coupon at any time. What is the point? They had to give me a $16 ticket to make me happy, but instead they've lost a customer for life.
I wouldn't waste my money or my time on this place. See a movie at another theater, it'll be cheaper and you'll actually get treated like a human being. -

Just had my 1st experience here.
Parking was easy process; with validation $3 (up to 4hrs)
Reserved seating is a great concept! The seats in the theater were pretty comfy too.
Ticket price yikes...$16 for a movie on a sat nite...quite steep for sure, ur def paying for the whole Arclight experience.
Very clean facilities & quite clean restrooms.
U pay a lil more, but this is a great alternative to the super crowded Pacific Theaters @ The Grove. -

I hate the Arclight. always such a HASSLE. for the Hollywood, first you have to find parking in that big structure, that's $3. the the movie costs $16, WOW, expensive. then you choose a seat. then you go up thru 2 attendants to show tickets to get to your theater. Oh, don't forget to validate your parking ticket!. then if its a 21 and over theater, you have to bring out your wallet again, and show a freaking ID!! geeez, OK ALREADY. Then you get a wrist band. am I seeing a movie, or waiting to see the president.?? then you Finally get to the theater.... and now you have to find your assigned seat. OHHH. I have to look all around to find this freaking seat, and of course the seats are not labeled easily. I have no idea where I am supposed to go. Ive gne there before and still can't figure out how to read the seating. so I finally sit down, likely in the wrong seat, and hae to worry that somebody is gonna and move me from my wrong seat.
then of course you can't come 1 minute late.
you can't ut your feet up on the seat in front of you , even if there;s no one there.
the whole process is so Nerve-wracking. I am just trying to see a simple movie. GAWWWWD.
and the seats are nothing special, not like Edwards which has the most comfty seats ever.
Unfortunately I have gone to arclight on several occasions, just because its the closest one, or has the showing I want, but I ALWAYS HATE IT!!!!!
HATE ARCLIGHT.
take a chill pill arclight, its a MOVIE, not brain surgery. -
Review from Tonya T.
(+) The theater is beautiful, almost majestic.
(+) The lines move quickly.
(+) You choose your seat when you purchase your ticket.
(+) The arm between the seats come up to get your snuggle on!
(-) $16 tickets are a bit steep.
(-) Parking validation is not complete, bc you still have to pay $3 with it and it only lasts 3 or 4 hours, after which normal rates apply ($3 per 30 minutes).
(-) For such a nice theater, their variety in snacks kind of suck, and are still pretty pricey. (I've been to theaters with menus & wine/beer, as well as other theaters with a variety of natural & wholesome snacks).
Tip: Be sure to park in their parking lot. I accidentally started to park in the lot across the street, and thankfully, there was a security guard there who told me that Arclight's validation wouldn't be valid. (Whew! Saved me a dozen dollars!) -

This is the most aesthetically pleasing moving theater I've ever been to. First off, I've never seen a movie theater sport a well kept book gift shop. There's also a cafe if you feel like hanging out with cronies before your movie starts.
The theater chairs are of high end quality; they definitely make you feel LIKE A BOSS (so if you watch a sad movie, you can swallow sadness LIKE A BOSS).
A good friend of mine procured some free tickets from http://www.gofobo.com to watch a screening of Act of Valor. You can get your parking validated; it's free as long as you don't stay more than 3 hours there.Listed in: Late Night

I love movies. What? YOU love them TOO! This is kismet I tell you!
So if you love movies I'm willing to bet you hate the average audience member in most theaters. People have no concept of respecting other people's experiences in theaters nowadays. People talk to each other, talk on the phone, put their damn feet on the back of the chair and just overall make your experience really frustrating.
That sounded misanthropic huh? Sorry, I just get irritated when I want to REALLY enjoy a movie and have to deal with dirty theaters and rude crowds. So when I have a film that I REALLY want to experience in theaters and immerse myself in, I'll come here. The seats are fantastically comfortable and the theater is spic and span. The have huge armrests and lots of leg room. They've gone out of their way to make your experience very comfortable.
Because of the atmosphere - and the somewhat prohibitive price, more to come - the crowd is quiet and respectful. It's a huge breath of fresh air.
And let's get to the heart of the matter, this place is often the ONLY theater that might be showing a movie that you want to see. Foreign and Indie films can be tough to see as they are usually only in "select theaters." This seems to be one of these lucky theaters to be selected.
Now the other side of the coin is that it's pricey. I believe we paid $16 for our tickets, and parking was an additional fee on top of that. That's almost $20, and for that money you can BUY the movie when it comes out on DVD.
But if you love movies and the theater experience, then you'll be willing to pay the premium to see it in the best place possible. Well this is that place. -

This theater is the coolest theater i've ever been to. i know vegas has it's places that beats other places, but one ting Vegas doesn't have is awesome theaters like Arclight. I came to watch a matinee movie here when Batman Return was on. I came in and the place was huge! You get to reserve and choose your seating like when you purchase tickets to a concert or a flight.
They have this awesome concession stand, and the lobby features a bunch of really cool costumes and artifacts from various famous movies from the past. Too bad i missed out on the Batmobile when they featured it for the premier.
Best of all the seats are comfy, AND an usher is there to direct you to your seat. HOW COOL IS THAT!!!!! -

I attempted to abort a ticket purchase earlier today (Friday evening) when I realized that I had chosen the wrong date. I failed, and ended up paying for two transactions. The fault was my own. Regardless, I contacted guest services to see if a refund might be issued for the purchase transacted in error. I had read the returns policy, and was aware that they do not give refunds. I did not expect to hear from anyone until Monday, and I fully expected that I would not be given a refund. After all, the error was my fault, not theirs. To my shock, but great delight, I was contacted by a guest services representative just a few short hours after my email. Jim F. cheerfully issued a refund without the slightest argument or even question as to my refund request. I am so impressed with the level of customer service!! Despite my relatively young age, I understand what true customer service is, and Arclight has apparently mastered it. The true aim of any business is not only to gain new customers, but to keep them. This is the first time I have ever visited an Arclight, but I will definitely be back!! I cannot express how grateful I am to be respected as a consumer.

Acrlight Hollywood is a fantastic theater. I saw Hunger Games in the dome and was really pleased with the whole experience. I reserved a seat in the center of the floor area and the view was perfect. I would avoid sitting on the balcony as it is just a bit too far from the screen for my taste. The service was fine and the whole place was clean and comfortable. I loved that the snack counter offered Scharffen Berger 82% cacao chocolate bars, too. I'm thrilled that this great movie theater is just a short walk from home!

I love the movies and I really love this place!
It's really awesome that you're able to pick your seats in advance. Sweet! I love my end seats, so in this theater I know I'll get what I want! Sure, this place is a little more pricey than a normal theater, but you get what you pay for: bigger screen, a seat that you want and a more comfy chair to sit in.
But, for a "luxury theater", it seems to be lacking something that I can't quite place. Maybe I feel it's missing something I'm comparing this theater to the new luxury theater in Newport Beach, and they just can't really be comapred. I'll be coming back to this theater when I'm in LA though. It's just so cool and also has a nice hipster type vibe to it that you can't really find in the OC. Love.
Happy movie going! -

Watching a film at an Arclight Cinema is really another level experience.. Although it's pricey (and really what movie theatre isn't nowadays?), it's definitely worth it.. Clean theaters, comfy seats, awesome screen and crisp sound.. These are all of the amenities you get when you come to an Arclight.. Oh and you can reserve your seat so you don't have to worry about finding one if you're running late..
Be sure to buy your tickets online and become a free member.. You get a dollar off each ticket you buy and of course can reserve your seat hours before you even get to the theatre.. Again, definitely worth the price..
Btw you're gonna have to pay for parking in the structure here (it's LA, duh).. So Arclight offers a 4 hours for $3 validation deal.. Just be sure to bring your parking stub into the theatre and scan it in the little blue box before exiting.. That way you can walk around afterwards and have dinner.. At Tender Greens ;) -

In terms of movie going experiences, this is tops. Yes, you do pay a premium but you get the quality that comes with it. The DOME is great and the best way to experience a movie. The personalized touch of an employee introducing the movie is one of those small things you don't think about but go a long way. Add to that the option to pick and reserve what seats you want and this place is it.
There is also a little cafe/restaurant that you can grab dinner at before or after your movie. Parking is a little pricey as well but you can get it validated for $3 or so.
Bottom line, this isn't a theater you go to every time, unless you are a baller, but for those special movies you really are excited to see.
P.S. last time I went, there was a guy walking around in a white cloth robe and a beard and was spot on for Jesus 0_o -

I enjoy coming here for the Cinerama dome. It's a unique experience compared with other LA theaters, plus the customer service is good. Seats are pretty comfortable and ushers show you to your seat. Picture quality has been excellent.
I remember coming here to watch "Machete" and having a great time. The audience gets involved, which is surprisingly not annoying to me. Make sure to make a reservation online in advance because the theaters can become very crowded. -
Review from Rachel S.
The Arclight isn't just your standard movie theater. It began the trend of letting you choose your own seats, for which I will forever be grateful, and upped the ante on customer service. Employees watch the first few minutes of the movie to make sure nothing has gone wrong, and the staff is very responsive in the face of any problem.
The seats are comfortable, the snacks are better than your average, and even the first row is back far enough that you don't need a neck brace to see the screen. It is a little pricier than most others, but it also feels like more of an occasion to come here.
I love that there are 21+ screenings where you can grab a cocktail and enjoy a movie that's guaranteed to have no kids in the audience, as well as the Arclight Presents program, where they show older movies you may have never gotten to see in a theater. Some of my favorites have included The Shining and Ghostbusters - and with Ghostbusters, there was even a Q&A with some members of the cast.
I love this theater and the only reason I don't spend more time here is that it's in Hollywood, and dragging me to Hwood is an effort (the traffic, the parking, the militant religious people trying to save my soul on every corner... Don't get me started). -

Arclight is a really cool theater. The decor inside is awesome, the picture and sound is great, and I love the fact that a human being stands up in front of the audience before the show to give a little info about the the film you're about to watch and to remind you to be respectful, STFU, and turn you're cell off.
I live down Orange County way, so yeah, Arclight is quite a drive. I could go to Edwards Cinema 128 at The Block and have to beat somebody to death for a parking place (hey, its cheaper then paying for one) and see some mainstream movie with 700 14-year-olds who are going to talk through the whole film anyway.
OR, I could take the extra drive to Arclight, see an interesting film, and be with people who seem like adults, according to their driver's licenses and their actions. The latter is far more appealing.
Plus, there is something cool about seeing a movie in a theater in Hollywood. C'mon, this is where they make movies! You might as well go to the source if you want to watch one.
Yelp defines 5 Stars as "As good as it gets!" As far as movie theaters go, Arclight is as good as it gets. -

Went for a sunday afternoon movie...figured it would be cheaper then say Friday or Saturday night...NOT! My bf got us tickets at a self serve station...$32 for just the two of us!!! I now was looking to reasons that would justify chargin such an exorbitant amount...you get to pick your own seats and for that pay almost double...does popcorn come with that??
Upon entering the theater we realized that lovely chance to pick our own seats really didn't matter since there was about 10 ppl in the whole place. And the seats...suuuuper uncomfortable. :-/ I'd rather go to the Regal at LA Live, pay half that price (and get a student discount) and still have cash left over for a drink at the Yardhouse! -

My boyf brought me here on our first date back in 09 (ahww). We went to see 'Where the wild things are'. It was a great movie btw. They were showing it in The Dome, which I thought was very cool. We sat in the very middle so we got a great view. I don't know if it was pricey or not since I obviously didn't pay :) I know you are assigned seating though. W hich can be frustrating and confusing sometimes. We didn't have much trouble but we did get a kick out of people trying to figure out where their seating was.
The angles of the screens are perfect. I loved this place!
Oh, minus the obnoxious couple next to us laughing at every scene. Like, 'Bitch, the kid getting into a boat is not funny'. Since it was a fresh date, I tried so hard not to get psycho with this couple and telling them to STFU like I would now since I basically don't care if I look like a bitch in front of him anymore. I don't think I have ever cried more in a public place and enjoyed it as much as I did at the Arclight Hollywood. Luckily for me, theaters are dark.
LK and I had been itching to see Like Crazy for about 3 or 4 months. Thanks Sundance! Finally when they had a limited release during our now bi-monthly trips to LA, this was the only theater to be showing the film. We had no idea how nice this theater was until arrival. They have a fully stocked bar in front, by which we had afternoon cocktails, and it just so happened when we were there they had props from the movie! They had the chair that Jacob gave Anna and the original handwritten letter that Anna had left on Jacobs car.
Nevertheless as soon as the movie began, I should have known better and brought a costsco sized portion of tissue as I proceeded to cry throughout the whole movie. Ugh. Public crying is usually a definitely no for me, being a sign of weakness, but the movie just hit me that way.
I stifled the tears for probably 85% of this film and enjoyed every moment of it. It also didn't help that we had cocktails before, but I prefer to attribute the raw emotions to the power of the film.
Amazing theater, beautiful inside and out and a temporary shelter to my tears. -
Review from John H.
A theater where you can actually sit in the front row without being right underneath the screen? Done. A theater where there are no commercials playing before the film starts? Done. Where every showing has assigned seating? Done.
There are several things the Arclight does correctly and it makes for a very unique theater going experience. Seats are huge, focused on films and has a nice selection of art house and blockbuster films.
The only thing that dings it for me is the price and that I have to pay for parking (even if it is validated). They were one of two theaters in LA showing an independent film I wanted to see and this was closer.
TIP: Buying your ticket online saves you a dollar!
