I've read the reviews on here and found a lot of them to just not be the case. Archie's is a busy place for sure. No argument here. The staff doesn't chit chat only because they are busy as heck with the crush of people who come in. If the place is so terrible why do they get swarms of people here every day?
I have eaten here for breakfast and lunch. The breakfast sandwiches are piping hot and made while you eat. They are very inexpensive and of high quality. The lunchtime plates are of large quantity and served hot and steaming. They counter staff is rushed but very friendly. I can't speak for all dishes but everyone in my office loved the place. Don't listen to the haters!!! -

Great steak tips that come with 2 sides for only 9 bucks. Was only 8 bucks until a couple months ago. probably one of the best lunch deals in the area. I prefer to go on wednesday or friday, those days they have mac and cheese, which is a phenomenal side and a great substitute for salad. I would probably go on mondays also, always seem to be craving their mac and cheese on monday. They also have http://thelevelup.com which allows you to save a few bucks on your meal. And don't forget your Archie's Place loyalty card, 10th visit is free!

I was walking to Viga (right next door) one day and noticed this place. I really wanted to like this place because I love gyros. I had the gyro plate and it was HUGE. You get a good amount of gyro meat of course that is served over rice pilaf, a pretty big side salad, and a pita wrap. And all that was just for lunch. With a bottle of soda, it came to about $10. So in terms of portions and price, it's actually a pretty good deal.
Where this place kind of falls is that it was ridiculously salty. I couldn't finish it because it was just too salty. The rice was salty as is, and then they sprinkle more salt on top of the meat.
I probably would go back, but this time without any high expectations. I have heard that the breakfast is pretty good, and they do have a whole list of other things there including weekly specials. -

Go for the baklava, not the food.
I've tried to like Archies. Everyone in the area seems to love it. The place always has customers, and makes enough revenue to close at 3pm every day. But I can't give them a great review. If it wasn't for their amazing (and big!) baklavas, I would never again go into this place. Ive tried the wraps, I've tried the salads, I've tried the specials. Nothing. The salads are premade in a container and they just add the dressing & protein of your choice. Not exactly "Fresh" and they taste like they've been in a fridge. Their falafel completely lacks any texture or crispiness, honestly I threw it out half way and went to boloco. And their wraps couldn't be more bland. Maybe I haven't ordered the right thing, but for a $8 salad or wrap, there are much, much better places in the area with quality food. -

Breakfast sandwich? Don't stop at Dunks, walk a little bit further down Pi alley, you will not regret it!!!
I'm only a breakfast patron here and for really good reasons. The owner and his wife, amazing people and they make the place! They're so kind! The cooks are amazing as well, they're very friendly.
Turkey bacon, egg and cheese on a plain bagel, not toasted with pink grapefruit juice. Thank me later. -

Falafel is bad. Disappointing :(
I was also unimpressed with the pickle and I almost always love pickles. -

Got the lamb gyro plate. They give you a lot of food for the money. It's fast. The meat was extremely salty and not enough tzatziki. Also, it was weird that they cut up the pita instead of leaving it whole so I could build my own wrap.

I just had one of the best chicken gyro's ever. Granted I'm starving, but that doesn't take away from the tender chicken, warm pita and fresh-made tzatziki sauce I just enjoyed.
Hidden away in an alley off Washington Street, I almost walked by without pause. Drawn in by healthy lunch options such as kebob meals, fresh grape-leave rolls and salads, I entered the average looking store to find a broad menu. While it doesn't communicate cuisine specialty, I'm sure local employees appreciate the options. If the breakfast is anywhere as good as lunch, I'll be a regular in no-time. -

Forget the sandwiches the best things on the menu are the platters. Chicken kabob, turkey tips, steak tips, salmon you name it all with rice and salad. Personel favorite is the chicken cordon bleu.

Can't believe the terrible reviews here. I get lunch here once a week. I usually go for the turkey tips and salad. Never disappointed! The grape leaves are pretty good too...but certainly not the best I've had. As for the guys behind the counter...couldn't be nicer. I always get a "hey hun" when I walk in...and I like being acknowledged. The older guy behind the register, who I take to be the owner, treats me like I'm a member of his family: ("Whaddya got today sweetheart?")
If you go during the lunch hour rush, don't be offended by curtness. These people are just trying to get you served and out the door asap...something they do very well.
I would give them five stars, but I find them a little pricey for a cafeteria lunch counter. My turkey tips and salad rings in around $9...but the portion is huge. Still, I cringe (ever so slightly) at the price. -

Just got back from a quick lunch at Archie's. Very disappointed in the falafel wrap. The falafel itself was dense, bland, and had little flavor. I ate about 1/3 of the wrap, then picked out the greens to eat and left behind the falafel. If there's one item a greek joint should do well, its falafel and Archie's failed! Service is friendly though. I will not be returning.

Oh. My. God. I just had possibly the worst gyro I've ever had in my entire life. I'm not even convinced it was meat.... maybe TVP? And it was about 5x too much meat-or-TVP in a *small* pita (wtf?), too much onion, and somewhere in there some lettuce and tzatziki sauce. I had to brush my teeth afterward. Seriously.
Maybe I was just spoiled from when I worked at the Pru 20 years ago and Steve's on Newbury Street was reliably excellent. *sigh* -

I have never actual written a review on here but I felt like I had to.
Do not go to this place.
They used to be run by 2 young guys that were awesome, super nice, got you in and out in 2 minutes and good food. I dont know if they have a new owner or if the actual owner just decided to be more involved in the place.
I easily went here once a week...not any more.
The food is just OK, nothing special by any means, it was better before but the owner ( I assume its the owner the old guy and his wife) are just straight up rude, they barely even acknowledge you at the register and rarely say thank you.
Today I witnessed a guy come in, put his stuff at a table and ask to use the bathroom (which you need a key too because it is locked for some reason). He was told that he needed to order and pay before he could use the bathroom. He obviously walked right out and I would have too if they didnt just run my credit card.
Its sad a place like this used to be good. If I could have given this place a zero I would. -

Andover, MA
My experience was ok. Everyone behind the counter was nice. Noticed the workers recognized a few customers, which is always a good thing. But the food was nothing special. I got the spinach pie with rice and salad. The rice seemed like rice pilaf and the spinach pie that had way too much dill in my opinion. I am Greek, so maybe being I am picky, but it was a disappointment. Overall, not sure if I would go back. They do take debit cards, which is nice. If you want great Greek food, I recommend Deli One over on Arch Street. Cheaper too, but they don't take cards.

I walk by this place all the time and finally decided to try it since it always seems busy. I tried their falafel wrap. It was disgusting! Granted I am used to falafel king's yummy falafels but this was by far the worst thing I ate in my life. It was a round hard hockey puck! I bit into it and spit it out because I thought I might have bit into a rock. Why this place is so busy is beyond me.. The only good thing is that everyone behind the counter seemed nice but I will take bad service with good food vs good sevice with bad food!
