I was completely skeptical of these rave reviews. I'm not too familiar with that area, but just didn't expect much from the reviews or the area.
Fresh paint had the interior looking respectable. The salsa was flavorful and the food served hot and spicy the way Mexican was meant to be served. The portions were light, but so were the prices.
I highly recommend this place and can tell you that it has the potential to be the best in the Puget Sound area.
Do yourself a favor and roll out for this south of the border flavor. -

While in the area for work this week and next, we stumbled into Archie's and I have to admit I was apprehensive. Well, I am now a huge fan of this family owned and run Mexican joint. The food is served hot and full of flavor. The service is attentive and certainly friendly.
If you love "hot" then ask for some her special habanero sauce, it has great flavor and ads a kick to any meal! -

The best thing about Archie's is that every time I order the mole, it tastes a little different which means it doesn't come out of a can but, is made on site. The Arroz con Pollo is fantastic! Archie is always happy to see you, the staff remembers your favorite table, and it feels like you've been welcomed into their home.

My secret little hide away.. Love the margarita's if Ignacio makes it for me, I sometimes call him Nacho :) Archie (owner) is sweet, she always gives me a hug when I come in... food is good too but there's no place like home except for a place that makes you feel at home right?
I cannot stand Azteca... If more people only knew about Archies, they would taste the difference. They don't have large crowds on a regular basis so they are a staff of about 2-4 people at times. I don't mind waiting for them to get to me... these are hard times especially for family owned business's.
P.s. there's NOTHING like Mexican food in California BUT we're in Seattle. -

I am always hoping to make a good mexican restaurant find and while this one was okay, it was not one of those finds up here in the Seattle area. The Happy Hour drinks were fine, good price and made well. The slas they serve with the chips is good but the dishes we had were okay.
The taco I had with my combination had a pre-made shell but it did taste good. The enchiladas lacked a little flavor. Will probably try it again but not for a while. -

Food was decently priced, service was A+. But, the actual place really needs to be painted better.

It's your typical Mexican restaurant in the Seattle area. They give you chips, salsa, and a bean dip when you sit down. They have a lunch special that's between $6.59 to $6.99. It's an entree with rice and beans. And since it's Americanized, it'll include cheddar cheese and sour cream. Or you can order a side item such as a taco $1.75, burrito $5, etc. The portions are standard.
I've been there four times. I'd go eat there again only because it's close by my office and there's not a whole lot of other places to go. I won't go out of my way to eat there. -

I love this place. The people running this place used to work/own Lago Azul in Des Moines which we used to really like. They have taken what they did really well there to their new restaurant which has been open since January 2010. Excellent dishes, salsa, mexican cabbage slaw, great margarita, and very friendly. I have only gone for dinner but noticed they serve all meals and also have a separate bar area which seems to be pretty popular as well in the evening.
