2-3 years ago, I bought some running shoes at Arch Rival, and loved them and the service. However, I live in San Fran and have bought a couple pair at other highly regarded stores in the city. Neither pair really worked and I just wasn't happy with the advice I'd had. So, today I went back to ARival, bought some new shoes and will go back next weekend to buy MBT's. Maybe this store isn't the absolute only place to buy athletic shoes, but you'd never get me to believe it. I literally danced out of the store in my new shoes (thanks, Mary).

If you do not know why you are having back pain, hip or joint pain and its because of your running shoes the sales people here are very knowledgable about the best kinds of shoes for your problem. They make you take off your socks, watch you walk and then bring you out 5 or so pairs of shoes to try on. They tell you that, "looks doesn't matter" so your not allowed to say, "I don't like pink shoes!" Trust them.....they are always right.

Only downside? The prices here are sometimes 5 or 10 bucks more than other shops around.
