This is probably my favorite thrift shop in the SGV. As with all thrift shops, there's no guarantee that you'll walk out with exactly what you want, but from personal experience, I've always left with treasure - cheap, cheap treasure. Show me another place where I can find a pristine tailored vintage suit for $15 or a jockey jacket for $4... no, don't even try. You can't.

Parking is no hassle at all; street parking is sufficient for a tryst around the store (thank God this small alcove of a thrift shop is relatively unknown). A few times a year they even have some scandalous sales... I once got to stuff a paper bag full for $3. THREE DOLLARS. I'm pretty sure that the paper bag alone would cost $3 in the current economic black hole of America.

To top it off, the staff is extremely helpful and friendly, and it seems like the merchandise here is updated frequently. The best part is that all of the proceeds go to charity, so you can shop away your sorrows guilt-free.

Unlike most thrift stores that donate a percentage of the proceeds an organization, ALL of Arcadia Welfare & Thrift Shop's proceeds go back to those who need it the most.

I came here the other day to donate some items; I struck up a conversation with one of the workers about their organization. It's great how the staff here really give back to the community. Whether it's a meal, some clothes, or a way to get off the streets for a few nights. Staff members have department specializations to the donated items presentable and in pristine condition for the customers. If items aren't in the best/wearable condition, they will sell it at a cheaper price to organizations that bring clothing and blankets to skid row in downtown LA.

The next time you have unwanted clothing or other items, please consider donating to Arcadia Welfare & Thrift Shop! They are always in need of men's clothing and blankets.

I really do love this store.  You can find all sortsa gold here all the time.  It sometimes gets me a little teary when I find things there that you KNOW people carefully took care of, and preserved all their long years.  I've found great christmas decorations from the early 50's here, some still with their ORIGINAL packaging and original filling.  Everything here is very affordable; much lower that Goodwill (like I said before).  The uber-plus side to this place is all of the proceeds go to helping feed those in need.  They staff eight full time employees here, too! Go go go!!!! Spend spend spend!!!! They need your help!!

Records: Impressive collection of 50's and 60's lounge vinyl in spectacular condition (have they been sealed in a vault for half a century?). A surprising number of those Enoch Light and Terry Snider "provocative percussion" LPs on Project 3. Came away with a mint Bacharach Make It Easy On Yourself and a nice Dick Schory Stereo Action LP. Vinyls $1.50, almost nothing past 1970, though, and zero in the way of rock (with the sole, bizarre exception of a minty fresh Blue Oyster Cult double live On Your Feet, On Your Knees). Nice folks but closes early in the day so check hours.

I really like this thrift store.  It isn't overpriced crap!  It's inexpensive treasure.  The furniture section is pretty decent on occasion, I have purchased several items and spruced them up that are currently in my home.  I wish it was bigger, and that I understood whether or not the furniture outside was also for sale.  Great book selection!

I much prefer this place over Goodwill. I don't understand Goodwill - stuff is expensive considering what you're buying. This place prices its stuff right, and there is definitely some treasures to be had here.
