The 305GamePlayer:
I love everything about this arcade. The games, the atmosphere, the people. They even have pinball which has become extremely difficult to find these days. It was such a fun experience, I will have to go back again soon. I highly recommend that everyone go and take their families and friends! Check out my experience and a full review on my youtube vlog:

The best arcade I've visited.
Classic games I played as a kid.
Quarter games? -

I wish I could give this place more than five stars.
My girlfriend and I headed down to Arcade Odyssey all the way from Hialeah (about 40-45 minutes away), and it was completely worth it.
An awesome amount of classic and fun (very fun!) arcade games, all in superb condition. Seriously. This guy is a collector first and everything was in pristin working condition. The owner, Rick, is the nicest guy. Explained everything to my girlfriend and I, the history of these things, showed us around, and told us about his collection (huge!). You can tell he's really passionate about bringing these games to people again.
The prices were perfect. The Japanese snacks were cheap for imports, and some of those you can't find anywhere else. All the games are two to four tokens (each token is a quarter), so none of that expensive GameWorks/Dave and Busters crap! In the back, the owner keeps quite a few 3D TV on which to play Call of Duty and a bunch of other games, on immersive gaming chairs. We had a blast fighting Nazi Zombies in 3D. And for, again, a pretty reasonable price.
If you check them out on facebook, you can even request for arcade games to be switched in. It looks like they change their in-store stock pretty often so there's always something different. The snacks and drinks, too.
We'll be coming back time and time again, even if it's a little far. I can't think of another classic arcade like it that still exists anywhere in South Florida and they deserve all the support they can get. -

When I first saw the sign "Arcade Odyssey" months before it officially opened I didn't know what to think!
Was it going to be another one of those lame places that didn't have actual aracade machines? Or worse yet, maybe one of those BS
questionably legal gambling joints passing itself off as an arcade?
When it finally did open, I was in shock. A REAL arcade, with real tokens?!
But would there be pinball?
In fact, yes, there was. A little bit.
It's a great place, but needed more pins.
I'm happy to say that my request has been answered!
In a joint effort between The Pinball Palace (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) and Arcade Odyssey, more machines have been added!
The lineup is scheduled to change every few months but currently you can play
Terminator 2 & 3, South Park, and Ripley's Believe it or Not
And according to the owner, more could be on the way if these do well.
So drop your console controller and go play a real 3D game. -

If I could give this place more stars I totally would... this place is a throwback to a better time, when arcades were not just rooms full of people pumping money into redemption machines in the hopes of winning some $0.25 piece of crap... this is from a time when games were fun!
This is a 100% authentic arcade, complete with insane blacklight reactive carpeting, lots of arcade and pinball machines screaming for your quarters (or tokens in this case)... along with some newer stuff (consoles and such)... and as far as I know, pretty sure this is the *ONLY* arcade in Miami
The owner is a collector, not an operator (arcade/pinball persons will understand as soon as you walk in) so games are immaculate, no "well it works good enough" here, everything is shiny and works 100% which is a nice departure from the last few (now defunct) arcades we had here in Miami
Most of the arcade games are in candy cabs with monitors that are all bright and sharp, buttons work 100% etc -

Ok, so I'm by no means a gaming fanatic - but I can appreciate the love and effort that has gone into Arcade Odyssey. For the diehards out there, I imagine this place must be an arcade mecca of sorts - lots of obscure games, all in absolutely pristine condition. I wish I recognized more of the titles, because it's kinda hard to get excited for a game you don't really know anything about.
What I did get excited about was the 3D Sonic the Hedgehog game. The back room has a bunch of consoles set up, and you can pay by the half hour ($5) or hour ($8). I love Sonic, and making him run jump and be awesome in 3D was so much fun, I pretty much giggled for a half hour straight. Oh, and the seats rumble, so it was like getting a massage while playing!
Also, the blacklight carpet in here is ridonkulous - I kinda wish I could make a dress out of it.
Apparently the games in the arcade are going to be rotated, so I'm excited to come back and check out new stuff! -

Retro arcade, classic consoles, modern consoles, multiple flavors of ramune and pocky. Get out of my head! What a great place! Super friendly service too and set up for real arcade fans. Also, the arcade games get rotated from a larger collection so it's never the same experience when you go. Support this awesome local business!

As someone who grew up in Mexico playing arcade games in small convenience stores and in local arcades like the Moy in the plaza in Villahermosa, Tabasco with the Cinépolis, right across the Carrefour, I have lived a lot of my childhood as a very, very huge arcade rat. I'm big into arcades, and I am huge into fighting games (as any of my friends will tell you).
When I came back to Miami, the only arcade for a while was Flipper's. Race'o'rama had closed down, and with time even Flipper's was no longer immune to the sands of time, leaving me with no real place to call my own for a long time. Sure, another option eventually sprang up with time, and I could get my fix of fighting games by going around to my friends' houses and playing with arcade joysticks on their big CRT TVs all crowded around a couple of couches, but it was never quite the same thing. And don't even mention whatever it is Bird Bowl passes for an arcade inside their bowling alley.
It's 2012 now, and the last thing I expected was for an honest-to-goodness, authentic arcade like the ones I remember to open in Kendall. It almost felt like I was a kid again, 10 years ago when I was playing games with and against other random people in person, dropping in tokens and listening to the sights and sounds of the many different game options available. Every single arcade cabinet is in absolute pristine condition and are given maintenance practically every day to ensure the experience is the best it can ever be. They have arcade games that you would never believe you'd be able to find anywhere in Florida, like Super Street Fighter IV and The King of Fighters XIII (which holds a dear, dear place in my oh-so-Mexican heart). They have arcade games you are guaranteed to have never played, like the extremely-rare The Act, an "interactive comedy" game of which only six exist in the entire world. They have pinball machines, racing games, crazy games from Japan you would never find this side of the pond...
And let's not forget everything else: air-conditioned, well-lit (well, with a blacklight, but still good visibility), not in a seedy area, tons of console setups for both "tournament" fighting game players (with PS3 and XBOX360 setups), large 3DTV setups for consoles (including tilting monitors for top-down shooter players; again featuring PS3 and XBOX360 setups), a large variety of games, constant events for all kinds of games, a chill and friendly atmosphere, men's and women's bathrooms that are so clean it borders on the obsessive...
Pretty much, if you've ever craved the authentic, old-school arcade experience, you are in for a real treat. This place is great whether you're just looking for a casual place to spend some time, or a hardcore gamer looking for some competition. Swing through: you will not be disappointed. -

If you ever walked into an arcade back in the 80's and early 90's then this place is right up your alley. To the black lights, glow in the dark carpet, to the early and late 80's games like Galaga and Dig Dug, to pinball games, to the massive 6 player x-men arcade machine. Arcade Odyssey has all the nostalgia you want.
And for the new comers playing on xbox and ps3, there are 7 setups for hardcore games to play with as little lag as possible and in the end of the arcade are more console setups with 3D TVs for some added experience.
Lastly, the arcade sells Ramunes and Pockies.
Just amazing! -

Awesome arcade! Took the kids multiple times and every time they have a blast. The owner and staff are really good people and they take good care of their customers. They rotate the games every month to keep it fresh. My kids are constantly asking to go back.

I first went to arcade odyssey not knowing what to expect, as soon as i walked in, a wave of nostalgia filled my senses. My all time favorite x-men arcade game was right there just begging to be played, naturally i couldn't resist. Other games such as terminator pinball, house of the dead, street fighter 4, Old school arcade machines, and tons of obscure games i never heard of were available. The place is token based, so you don't need to swipe a card of any of that nonsense. The glow in the dark carpet and the sound of arcade machines fill the place with an intense and fun vibe. They also sell Japanese soda, and an assortment of other refreshments. All the machines work perfectly and are in awesome condition. Great place to go with a group of friends.

Unbelievable. If I could give this place more stars, I would. I've never seen so many old and new games in such pristine condition in the same space. The owner is a collector so these machines are likely to stay in great shape. It's also got that retro feel to it and it's a very friendly atmosphere.

I paid my first visit to Arcade Odyssey yesterday and WOW! was I pleasantly surprised. What a cool place to check out. This is the one and only "True" Video Arcade that I know of in South Florida. When I was growing up in Miami there were video arcades all over the place in the late 70's, 80's and into the early 90's from stand alone locations to places in the mall to Pizza Parlors and Laundromats. Then Dave & Busters and Game Works attempted to create a video arcade experience but they really left much to be desired. And places like Boomers... Well, they shut down one building with video games and the other one is full of games with only half of them working. So I really missed the "True" Video Arcade experience and Arcade Odyssey does not disappoint. This is a place that will appeal to everyone from video game purists to little kids to big kids to parents with kids and even those that are just a kid at heart.
Now, there's a little bit of something for everyone. You have the classic arcade games for those that grew up playing games like Pac-Man, Robotron, Burgertime and Joust, and there's the rider simulation games like the Sega Wave Runner, Nascar Car Racing and Tsumo Ball which I call the "Red Dome Battleship" artillery game. You have the first person shoot'em ups like House of the Dead killing zombies and the like. Then there's the Terminator pinball machines which are a lot of fun to play. And let's not forget the room dedicated to network connected PvP games with rumble seats where fans of Call of Duty can congregate to show off their skills. And of course the ubiquitous Street Fighter series video games are always the consummate crowd-pleaser. Now there's many, many more games to chose from. But what makes this place unique and not just another Video Arcade is the attention to detail and the fact that all of the games are in excellent working condition which is a rarity at most places with video games. And you can play video games only seen in Japan which is really cool when you belly up to a machine that has the original pricing of 100 Yen per play.
And for those that like Japanese Anime there are flat screen TV's all around the place showing movies and you can also enjoy a Ramune Japanese soda with a cleverly designed glass marble as the bottle seal and a box of spicy Japanese potato sticks along with traditional Japanese candy.
As far as I'm concerned, this place is a must see in Miami no matter where you live in South Florida.
