This is definitely the best arcade in So Cal. I should know because I used to be an Arcade-freak up to last year (am now retired, hahaha). Yes, I used to drive 40-50 miles from home just to visit this place to get my arcade fix~
You will find the some of the best players hamming it up with their insane skills (probably because they go here all the time with the cheap prices). I used to be a decent player in Wangan Midnight: Maximum Tune and Initial D. When I started to venture out and explore to other arcades, I get a lot of props for the amount of battle stars that show on my screen. I tell them they should go to AI because there are people that have literally 50+ times what I have, hahaha.
UnlikeJapan Arcade (Little Tokyo), Camelot (Anaheim) and Boomers (Irvine), the machines are well taken care of by the owner and have a continuous flow of people+regulars coming in. Super Arcade in Walnut comes in second.
SUPER crowded in the weekends though. It gets super hot from the crowd and humid from the DDR-players' sweat (...). Back in the day, the best of the best come to battle it out on Friday and Saturday nights. Luckily, I'm pretty sure that's still going on =]
BIG FAT GIANT NEGATIVE to the gross bathroom D: Just go downstairs to the Plaza Walk!
I usually play:
-Wangan Midnight: Maximum Tune 3DX
-Drummania (insert version here)
-DJ MAX Technika
-Street Fighter IV (I don't play it though, but I love watching it)
The area that I live in is VERY deprived of Arcades. so yea, i do drive 20 minutes to visit AI to play video games.
lets do a quick and easy run down shall we:
Cost: very cheap, most fighting games are 1 token (1 token=1quarter, $5 gets you 25 tokens, and $20 gets you 100 tokens) so get 100 and save the rest for later when you come back, which you will.
Ambiance: a massive load of people show up on weekends for the SF4 rank battles. gets a bit hot, but the fans/AC gets going quite hard so no problems here. Though it might get a tad hard to move at times when people starts crowding up, oh and HONOR THE TOKEN LINE. One big negative point for this place: the bathroom, it is perpetually smelly, and no the cutesy pictures on the wall does not help.
Selection: there's about 3 racing games, 8-9 music/rhythm games, 2 shooters, and the rest are Fighting games. It's decent.
To sum it up: Cheap, Decent game selection, smelly bathroom. Use the bathroom in the food court area, it's much cleaner.
My favorite arcade in this area!!
I just hope they fix the games when they're broken cause I want to play!!! Oh yeah, the place can get real hot when it's crowded but that's not going to keep me away.
You can find me here playing Typing of the Undead until my fingers bleed.
I believe this is where I will someday find my soul mate...

Perhaps the premiere arcade center in Southern California. Arcade Infinity gets games from Japan where others cannot. It was one of the very few centers in the United States to have a Street Fighter 4 cabinet which explains the strong showing of the Street Fighter community at Arcade Infinity, or AI it is now affectionately called.
AI does hold ranking battles on certain weekends, which causes crowds around the Street Fighter 4 machines and a considerable amount of body heat. Thankfully the owners do have an extra large fan that they use to keep the place bearable.
One gripe about the place. The restroom, quite dirty and can we get seat covers?
This arcade has all the Japanese games that you won't find in a typical arcade. Not just DDR and Initial D, some other cool ones too. They have games as cheap as 25 cents a game.
Even with the huge fans going it can get pretty hot in there, and the restroom is.. well.. just don't go in there.
Had a lot of good times here.. the only thing they need to do is get Taiko No Tatsujin.. and someone to clean the bathroom
let me say this first, i am from hong kong and i started arcading since i was 16. so i am spoiled...and this doesn't compare to a decent arcade in hong kong.
the only reason i think this place deserves a 4 star is because there's barely any arcades around LA and this is one of the better and more reasonably priced ones.
most games are 2 tokens for a game, for $20 you get 100 tokens. pretty good deal, but i really hate dealing with tokens
i mainly play beatmania and and dancemaniax. the beatmania machine is pretty good, but one of the sensors don't work for dmx, also it didn't even let me play today! but those two machines are relatively new. they also have the 7 key beatmania, but i don't normally play that.
they also have guitar hero and drums, but i don't really play those either.
they have initial d! so i'm satisfied with the driving games. battle gear 4 really sucks and super slow despite being a new machine (supposed to be realisitic?). i'm surprised they have midnight racer?
they have ddr, para para but i don't play those.
they're really lacking in the shooting games, only house of the dead? no time crises? that's it? the punching game is way tiring, i save it for last.
the typing game is ok, some other games, overall, it's a solid arcade but really lacking in variety. but they have my beatmania and dmx for cheap. so pretty good.
tip: $20 = 100, you get double the amount of coins than if you only bought $5
favourite: beatmania!! it's the complete version!
do not want: lack of shooting games
last words: i hope this survives!

This arcade is small, dark, loud, and can get pretty crowded at night. Every once in a while, you'll get packs of aZns getting angry at each other over initial D. The one bathroom they have is usually not so clean, either.
BUT, this place has a great selection of arcade games you will rarely ever find. Their big draw comes from the DDRs, Beatmania, Street Fighter, and Initial D machines, but they have a good collection of other games on the side.
$1 = 4 tokens, $20 = 100 tokens, and most of the games there are four tokens or less, which is a good value considering American arcades charge something ridiculous like $1.50 for a round of DDR.
Good games, cheap prices. Go!

I'm not really a video game person...because I'm just not that good and fail at any video game I play. I usually play one of the fighting games in the back or whatever...whatever requires the least amount of tokens...cause I go through tokens really really fast.
My friends and I used to venture to the life plaza area all the time...and after eating somewhere near by we would start wandering around and end up here or at the photo place. My boyfriend thinks this place is awesome cause it's a lot more up to date than most arcades. So he would probably give this place a five star. My rating is just a three because I'm just not that into video games.

So I am reviewing an arcade...but this isn't just ANY arcade. This is Arcade Infinity! - "To Infinity, and Beyond!" Sorry, just had to throw that in, love Toy Story! :)
This place can be easily missed because it is located all the way in the back on the 2nd floor of Life Plaza. Parking can be a pain here especially on weekends. Anyway, you walk in there, and you feel like you're in a different world; a world of serious gamers, battling off each other on Street Fighter IV or DDR to perfect their already perfect scores. The newest, hippest Japanese games can be found at this place. I haven't really played anything here, mainly because I suck.
But I will be back Arcade Infinity, I will be back. I am secretly training to become a better SF4 player at home, so just you wait...

Cool little place that my girlfriend took me too while visiting her 'hood in the LA suburbs. Bought $5 of tokens and had a good time. Since very few Yelp reviews about arcades fail to mention a list of notable games, I'll list the ones I played:
- Azumanga Daioh themed Bust-a-Move/Puzzle Bobble
- Puzzle Fighter
- DDR (two machines, don't remember the variants, but see below)
- Typing of the Dead (YES!!!)
Some of the other ones I didn't play, but remember:
- Street Fighter IV
- Metal Slug VI
- A couple of shmups
- All the Bemani games - Guitar Freaks, Beatmania, etc.
By no means is the list comprehensive. Anyway, the place is nice because it's got some good games in it and it's pretty cheap (50c to play DDR, 25c to play most of the arcade cabinets), but it is kinda dark and stinky. But that means it's full of greasy nerds who know where it's at.
Note: As of the writing of this review, the DDR machines are kind of broken, and if you try to do VS play you'll just end up wasting tokens.
-1 star for broken DDR.
...and.. -1 star for NO TAIKO NO TATSUJIN! ARGH!!
Really this is like gamer heaven.
Considering they got tons of different game machines catering to whatever your taste is. From Initial D to Marvel vs. Capcom.
Variety of racing games, fighting games, music games, etc. Located in life plaza on the second floor towards the end by Cues and the pool place.
And be warned, at night this place can get really packed. They open late as well.
If you're in the area and wanna play some games, then this place is it. The owner of this place really knows what kinda games to get since it gets packed here every weekend. I haven't been here in a while but the games I do remember are
Azumanga Bust-A-Move
Beamania IIDX 15 DJ Troopers
Beatmania III 7th Append Mix
Capcom Vs SNK 2
DanceMania
2 DDR Machines
EZ2DJ
Gundam (2 player mode)
GuitarFreaks/DrumMania V5 (I think they have V6 now)
Initial D Ver. 3
King of Fighters (bunch of them)
Marvel Vs Capcom 2
Melty Blood Act Cadenza
Metal Slug 6
Pop'N Music (forget which version)
Sengoku Basara X
Street Fighter III 3rd Strike
Street Fighter 4
Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo
The House of The Dead 4
Typing of The Dead
Virtua Tennis 3 or something
Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3
Another racing game (2 player mode. supposed to be more realistic)
Couple of Japanese silly-fun games
A Raiden type game but called something else
The owner here is real nice. Sometimes before he closes the place, he lets you continue playing until you finish. It's too bad they don't close at 2am anymore like they used to.
My only gripe with the place besides the fact that it gets packed on weekends and parking is the number of people who go there and smell horrible. I know everyone knows about taking a shower but if you are gonna be too damn lazy to do so, put some deoderant/cologne/body spray on dammit. I don't wanna smell your freakin manfunk ok?
Arcade Infinity really found its niche here.
If you are an arcade fan like me whether you gauge yourself as an amateur or a pro, it's good place to hangout. From my point of view, folks there are friendly and nice. I suggest have that laid-back game face on when you are playing against them in order to have that good impression of you, whether losing or winning in a match.
I can't really remember the full account of games there but mostly they have Japanese titles. Well nowadays, the main attraction there is the Street Fighter IV arcade there because people crowd over there. There are small group of people who also plays Bemanistyle games such as Drummania/GuitarFreaks, Beatmania. There are also classic yet good games there. You might as well check it out.
I suggest you have a good $20 credit for this place so that you would not be bothered having going to the token dispenser. Oh yeah, $20 = 100 tokens. A dollar ($1) would go for only 4 tokens. See the economics underlying there? ^^
Well basically that's it, my experience there is very welcoming and it's up to your impression on going there on how will you find it. But since I'm an arcade junkie/fan. Then this is my pit stop for good arcade experience like 5 minutes from my home.
Despite the fact that I no longer play games, it is comforting to know that AI will always be as epicly awesome as it was back in the day. There will be new upgrades and new machines, fresh out of Japan, but there's an overwhelming sense of nostalgia for me when I see the same niche gamers -- the Maximum Tune ricers, the Bemani fans, top-tier fighting gamers -- coming back to this small, dark arcade for the simple sake of gaming.
It gets kinda crowded here at night. Respect the token line. And wear deoderant if you play DDR!
Place is great if your looking for competition I'm arcade fighting games especially Street Fighter 4 !! I like that the games there are like 25 cents a game which is good, it gets mad packed on the weekends and tournaments, my only complaint is that I wished they had a few more street fighter 4 cabinets available plus it gets hot in there invest in some fans and central AC please !!!!
Lol, this place is so cute. I love going, but I don't play the games there. Lol.
It's a fun place to go if you go with a group and want to race, or do a dance off, or play some fighting games. Lol. Idk.
To each's own.
For you arcade junkies, those of you who can't let the arcade go and don't want the dissatisfaction of going to Boomers to play on broken cabinets... This is your place. Most all of the cabinets are in working order. Tons of imports from Japan. Lots of fighting games! I'll say that if you're a fighting game connoisseur then this is the spot for you. Top notch competition, so good that you'll get combo'd right out the door.
Most all of the cabinets are low, so you gotta sit to play, unless you're Vern Troyer...
Oh and people are serious about the DDR here... For serious!

An arcade that specializes in Japanese games, that you will never find at your local Dave and Buster's. From fighting games to DDR. In fact, they used to have INSANE DDR tournaments here when I was in college. The game cabinets tend to be the smaller white cabinets from Japan. Thus, the joysticks are the more sensitive "lollipop" ones, not the "bat" ones most Americans use. But it has never been an inconvenience to me. They will also sell machines to you if you're rich enough to afford such pleasures. BTW, they were the first place to have the Initial D racing game, back in the day. So if you're a video-race car enthusiast then this is the place for you as well.
My only complaint is how small the place is. But, it's such a small complaint that I can't take a star off for it.
This place has great variety considering the size. There is a whole row of simple joystick and button games, as well as the larger machines like Initial D Stage 3+4, DDR, Guitar/Drum machines, etc. They also have Street Fighter IV for those that are interested in going head to head with some pretty skilled players. They usually have pretty good ID players as well. The rest of the games are pretty casual. Really the only decent Arcade in the area. Can get pretty packed at night, especially on weekends. Parking shouldn't be a problem, as the plaza is huge. Right off the freeway, so you shouldn't be getting lost either.

finding a arcade that specializes in Japanese gaming can be hard to come by especially in orange county.
This is the only arcade i know of that actually has Cave shooter games and Street Fighter 4 on play.
the crowds are very friendly and the machines are always in working shape.
if you get a change check out Death Smiles and pop n music,
this arcade rocks.
pro cool games cheap prices
cons filled with nerds(like the ones in revenge of the nerds movie) and smelly
I LOVE this dark game laden geek paradise!
Great random Japanese game selection.
This place is open till AM on the weekends so instead of spending $8 a beer in Hollywood spend $5 here and play for hours...well that's if your any good.
There was a guy that I used to have a crush on, I actually met him before at Cal Poly Pomona because I went with my friend to school. When I found out by coincidence that he worked at this arcade, I was surprised. But then shortly after he told me he got fired because the boss caught him playing games while he's suppose to be working, since then I haven't talked to him or seen him ever again, QQ..
Anyway, I used to craze over the ddr machine (high school fab...perhaps I should get into it again even though it's been years), and Initial D hahah. Sooner or later I crazed over maximum tune, but not so much anymore, I get bored too easily zzz...

i love it here... best jap games are here, and some of the best players play here as well so come prepared to get waxed. great location. there are some good thai food places to eat around to which makes it good.
Ah this place is like a strip club for video game addicts. Imagine walking in with your buddies, it's pitch black, kinda seedy a little dirty on the inside, but you don't care. Your eyes adjust to the light sources of monitors and flat screens and having your head spin on a swivel to oogle over Japanese game cabinets as if it were a 5'11" blond in clear acrylic heels and a g-string...
Uh, where was I? Oh yeah, ok back to the review. This place has got almost every crazy niche game that you would find in your friendly neighborhood arcade, if you live in freaking Tokyo. I thought I was pretty up on my Asian arcade games, but my goodness, there's games I can't even explain. There's your DDR, Guitar Freaks, & Drum Maniacs, ok seen that. But to see a kid full on raving in front of a cabinet with sensors for his feet & hands, that's a first. Pushed behind these wonders of time consumption are your classic arcade games from about 1997 and up. Good ol' reliable stand-bys.
And oh yeah one more thing to end this review if you've gone through the trouble of reading the whole thing. That 5'11" blond in the g-string and stripper heels I mentioned earlier, yea her name is STREET FIGHTER IV!!! Fellas, get in line, because there is a wait to get her.

I'm usually not a fan of dark, crowded places or video games but I have to say I actually quite like this place and so do my friends considering we "HAVE" to come here everytime we hang out.
They have a huge selection of imported games and their price per game is unreasonable cheap. The first time i went, I got $5 worth of tokens and barely used up i would say $3 worth after staying for 2 hours.
Their only downfall would be that most if not all of their games are in Japanese so my friends and I usually end up guessing at our selections when asked.
My only tip for people considering checking out this place is that you go in the afternoon or early evening like before 9pm because it can get REALLY crowded in there late at night.
This is where lovers meet under the bright lights of Benami and dance the night away via DDR. Quarrels may ignite, leading to an InitialD challenge or two... sometimes ending tragically -- and life is never the same.
...so screw Dave&Busters. Come watch me Parapara like a pro!
This arcade is one of the best I have ever been to. They have all types of imported games straight from japan. I always get $20 worth of tokens because its the best value and it lasts me more than one visit. Its definitely I place to check out when your in the mood to play some good arcadees.
This place is so cool and their open pretty late too. It has the new Street fighter 4 game and its awesome to watch the matches. People stand in line to watch, not to mention most of the games are Japaneses, there so fun. :D some games are so different but fun, worth coming enjoying a crepe and gaming until they close :D
The gaming mecca.
Fighting games, dancing games, music games, puzzle games, racing games, and even punching games, this place has it all.
Better than your ordinary Dave & Busters/GameWorks, but without the alcohol (ok, well sorta better, I wouldn't mind drunk Initial D)
Found in the heart of Diamond Plaza, it is where you see people of all walks of life. From Anime cosplayers, to 80's glam rockers, this place is a go to for the eccentric.
Competitive play is very common here. If you need to hone up on your skills, or just want to wail on noobies, it's all done here.
Newest, and latest japanese/asian video games are abundant here.
Just make sure to bring plenty of quarters ;) ... just in case you get your ass beat... which is common too :P

Forget Jane Fonda's workout. All I need to do is come here and play some DDR. That will give me some workout.
Located on the 2nd floor of the Diamond Plaza on the deep end, there is an arcade that is filled with imported Japanese games that I have not seen since being in a foreign Asian country in the past.
The place is very very dark. Sort of seem seedy or they figure too much light might lose your concentration in the game. Yes, in the past someone actually complained about too much light ruined his enjoyment and break his concentration on an arcade game. What a goober! Luckily it was at somewhere else.
Like the past reviewers pointed it out, there is a lot of imported machines that are in foreign languages. Meaning the instruction are either in Japanese or Chinese. You're SOL and will have to waste some pretty coins to get use to the game.
They have the DDR (Dance Dance Revolutions). Do not judge me because I only got use to jumping on those color dance pads like Twister. It was fun for me in the past and gave me such a workout. Still does.
The place also have some hand coordinated games similar to the foot coordinated games of DDR. Especially like a drum game where you beat the drum to the note on the screen.
Plenty of racing games and Initial D version 3 is in there. They updated the cars to the present time to reflect some of the recent cars that came out. I mean who is going to believe a Toyota Corolla '86 can beat some of the present race car?
It's fun and get your mind off things while your relatives are down stairs checking out the cosmetic stores. arrrgh *sigh*. Oh well, something to do for everyone.
Oh, the place opens at 1pm so you can't get a pre-lunch fix and will have to wait after lunch for the place to open.

This place has more Bemani games than any place else I can think of. The selection is amazing and the prices are unbeatable. I think I barely spent any money at all ($10 or so) and was there for several hours. It's a lot of fun with friends, too!
Plus, it's surrounded by amazing food, so you can gorge yourself, all the while forgetting that it might just come back up once you hit the arcade.

This was my haven in college.
That said, let me clear up something: I am a female gamer, which means I am a true nerd beyond all reason. Don't get me wrong, I am terribly, terribly ashamed to admit it.
But for the sake of Yelp, I must: This was my haven in college.
I grew up in Japan, from elementary thru high school. No amount of schoolgirls or neon fashion can shock me. Along those same lines, I was thrilled to find that a Japanese-style arcade existed just a few measly miles down the 60.
I haven't been here in a year or so, but I wanted to dispel the myths about the games in Arcade Infinity, to the best of my recollection:
Boxing Mania
- a "real life" boxing game
- hit the pads to "knock out" your opponent
Para Para Paradise
- modeled after parapara dances of kogals in japan, this game rose (and fell) in popularity somewhere around 1999-2000.
- wave your arms to the beat while shuffling your feet from side to side.
- occasionally, people will rave to the music, which gets them points in the game, but, sadly, not in real life.
Dance Dance Revolution
- this game has probably been around long enough that it needs no explanation.
- step on the colored pads in time to the music.
- tip: try not to use only your right foot!
Keyboard Mania
Pop 'n' Music
Beatmania
Beatmania IIDX
Shakatto Tambourine
- these games all have the same basic concept: hit the keys in time to the music
- tip: to save money, play Pop 'n' Music with a few friends...you have less chance of losing (:
Typing of the Dead
Laputa typing game
- you are an undercover detective solving crimes, and the only way to defeat bad guys is to "shoot" them by typing what you see on the screen (yeah, really.)
- warning: unless you know japanese or can speed read, these games get exponentially harder
Initial D
- based on the popular manga and anime genre, you will always see no less than ten fanboys clustered around these "driving" stations.
- race and drift to beat out your opponents
- you can save your game and customized car on a little card that you put into the machine each time you play (not sure if they still have this)
Various arcade games
- all of them are "Japanese-style," which means you can sit down while you play
- King of Fighters (insert year here)
- Street Fighter (insert iteration here)
- Puzzle Fighter (insert number here)
- some form of airplane-shooter-game
- Mobile Suit Gundam (insert random letters here)
- Soccer games
- Mahjong
- Photo Hunt
and...my personal favorite has a control unit shaped like two giant faces. each person takes ahold of two googly eyes while leaning against a big ol mouth on the machine while playing minigames. it's like wario on crack. and if you understood all that, then by all means, you need to try it out!!
minus one star for the hordes of teenyboppers and fanboys that frequent this place on friday and saturday nights. uuugh so crowded!! even though asians aren't supposed to have BO, a whole room of sweaty people should still think about investing in deodorant.

I use to come here with friends and play all the Benami games. They have a lot of the import arcade games from Japan. From DDR, drum mania, guitar freeks, etc.
It's a nice location, clean and friendly.
However, beware at night, there are usually punk ass kids that causes trouble. Not at the arcade but in the same shopping complex.

This place is it. Very few games here cost over a dollar to play (actually i don't think any of them do).
BE WARNED! This is not an american arcade. Wtf does that mean? well let me tell you. The games here, are almost entirely imported. All of the cabinets are short with seats so that you can play comfortably. The range of games is definetly worth mentioning. Metal Slug 6, Typing of the Dead, Initial D ver. 3 (japanese version so be careful), Maximum tune 2 (75 cents to play, 50 to continue!!), Street Fighter 3 on a big screen, DDR Extreme (50 cents!), IIDX. Really, if you like japanese arcade games at all. Then drive out here and play them. Because finding a better deal is going to be hard.
Oh, in addition, all of their games work. If they don't, they turn them off so you don't waste your money. Rock on.

This place is a guilty pleasure of mine. 75% of the money that I came across in Junior High eventually made its way into a Street Fighter II machine. Thankfully I got pretty good at the game but when the Great Arcade Death of the 1990s occurred thanks to the proliferation of superior homesystems by Sony and the like, I was dejected to think that my hard earned skills at six button fighter games would be moot... forever.
Arcade Infinity reduces my feelings of redundancy with plenty of Japanese import arcade games and even a ginormous big screen Street Fighter machine. The Typing of the Dead game is great, even though it throws these ridiculous phoneticized Japanese phrases at you that for all I know could be gibberish. The only complaint I have is that the volume here is out of control and I always walk out halfway deaf. Maybe I'm just getting too old. But if you're going to blast your eardrums and dance, it's definitely cheaper to do it here than at some uppity Hollywood club. And you even have a screen for guidance.

Living in Anaheim sucks because there is no arcade anywhere to be found. So I had to travel a distance just play a game that I have been dying to play. My journey to Rowland Heights to play Street Fighter 4 was well worth it. Arcade Infinity is the sh*t, they have types of arcade games for you to enjoy. The only two things that was disappointing about this place is that one, it only had one Street Fighter 4 machine so I had to wait to play. Two, it is a pretty small place and I am a claustrophobic. I was having trouble breathing up in this place so every 5 mins. or so I would have to take a breather outside. After playing SF4 I was happy and forgot about those two things. Overall I enjoy the arcade and planning to come back soon.
been coming here since i was little! Really well-maintained machines, always has the new upgrades and stuff on Maximum Tune, my favorite racing game, and really reasonable prices. I used to come on a weekly basis but i've stopped coming because i'm not really into gaming anymore. Still swing by to visit every once in a while, god it brings back manyy memories
