Review from James R.
Billerica, MA
The Pheasant Lane Mall in Nashua, NH contains, obviously, a number of dining choices...and they have a number of More Popular Fast Food choices here:
Burger King
D'Angelo's
Dairy Queen
Arby's
Chick Fil' A
etc, etc...
I am a big fan of Arby's...having been raised in Erie, PA the number of Arby's establishments far outnumber what I've seen in the New England area...so yeah, I've grown up with the place.
And without a doubt, b/c on every other corner of every neighborhood is some small, pizzeria/sandwich shop is showcased a Roast Beef Sandwich with the same BBQ-tasting Sauce as Arby's.
Except that these sandwiches, the Roast Beef looks more along the lines of what you would get at a Deli.
Arby's slow-roasted "bologna-style" Roast Beef...while putting a look of distaste on most New Englander's faces, I still enjoy.
I am particularly fond of their Super Roast Beef...which basically consists of lettuce, tomato and some French-Style dressing...is a really good.
The Beef N Cheddar are also a popular item...
But I think my fave is the Large Roast Beef with the Arby's BBQ Sauce and Arby's Horsey Sauce.
If you're a horseradish fan at all...which if you're not, you should be when it comes to roast beef...is really good.
I like the way Arby's toasts the bun just a bit...and with both drippy sauces on the piled high "bologna-roast beef"...it's just a good dance.
Most people like curly fries on the side, but I am a fan of their Potato Cake. Most people don't know what these are...picture a hash brown from McDonald's breakfast meals, but SO much better! Drizzle a lil' ketchup on that...or just douse it with a little salt...or I've been known to just jam one into the Roast Beef Sammich itself.
Anyway...this has been more of an Arby's review in general, rather than this particular location's...so as far as Arby's go, I don't think this one is as good.
There is also one in Auburn, MA...where my rents live...and that Arby's kicks this one in the "jimmy" and runs off with its lunch money.
Despite the normal onslaught of insults I take from my New England Peers about the place, Arby's has stood the test of time...and remains one of my fave fast-food places to grab somethin' to eat.
