The little ones love this park. There's two large play structures in separate sandlots so there's lots of room for everyone to play. The structures are challenging to little 2-4 year olds helping them practice their motor skills. There's great views of the mountains and big grassy area for picnics and games. The parking lot is off the street and shaded by big trees. Nothing like free entertainment for the kiddies while you spend a beautiful day outdoors.

Nice neighborhood park, though the structures seem dated and I suppose the sand could be replaced with that springy surface you find at some other parks.
I do like there are two sets of parking lots and there are large grassy areas for the kiddies to run around.
Thumbs up for bathrooms.
I couldn't find the trains featured in one of the yelp photos, but I should have asked someone. Hey, where are they? -

Now that I am a frequent at Arbolado Park, I found the restrooms! The park is great and it has pretty much everything you need.
The only reason why this review is not a 5-star review is because the play structures are a bit dated and old.Listed in: East Bay Parks and Playgrounds

This park pretty much has all that you need. It's got a couple of BBQ grills spaced out around the park. There are four basketball hoops with a large open asphalt area for any recreation you want to do. The grass is generally all green with some slight patches during the summer. There's an even bigger grass field usually used for soccer.
There are only one set of bathrooms and a couple of water fountains. The best fountain is the one next to the bathroom. Play structures are decent but starting to get old. There is a gate that leads to the trails that runs along the contra costa area including the iron horse trail. -

I very distinctly remember my second visit to Arbolado Park. My first was more memorable as it involved a most excellent picnic with my soon to become best friend++. We posted up under the tree on the little hill to the right as you drive in to the upper parking lot. And as that was such a great time we decided to try it again the following week. Only instead of the area being basically empty, upon our return visit there was a local business man taking a ride on his secretary. Ahhh, I can see his head peering around her knee, her feet pointing skyward, and looking right at me with a bit of contempt before going back to finish his business. But I digress. If you find yourself at Arbolado Park you are probably lost. But don't fret. Take the time to enjoy what the city of Walnut Creek refers to as 26 acres of lush green parkland. There's a nice soccer field, some well-maintained tennis courts, a kids playground, picnic tables, a few trees that provide some much needed shade, a bunch of open space, and just enough privacy.
