Review from Tom D.

ACRC is a transitional residential facility for women. AKA a halfway house for female convicts. FYI, I am neither female nor a convict. HOWEVER, my company has hired 19 of their residents this year and currently still employ several that have completed their term here.
The advantages to hiring them don't come without some small problems. Some of the advantages are a population of potential employees EAGER to work and W2W tax credits (download form 8850) from IRS.
The disadvantages... well yeah, there are a couple. Many of the residents have constant meetings with case managers and different classes (most can be moved). Some residents that have ID theft convictions and aren't allowed to work with money (sort of a no brainer though). There are some with unusually high amounts of drama, but most of the highest risk convicts go to the facility downtown and don't come from ACRC.
I've worked with residents of this facility for several years, most are great. You'll need a very good HR person to interview to weed out people and a experienced trustworthy manager (since many haven't seen a man in a long time). Occassionally, there will be some odd situations. The gas station across the street from us closed it's bathroom cause one of the gals turned tricks in there after work.
Other than that, the facility is well run. The Center Director has come to visit us and I get the feeling very little gets past her. Most of the case managers there are very polite and professional with us too.Listed in: This aint yo momma's list
