Ive had to curtail going to Arandas for a couple of reasons.
Since I started going there at least 10 years ago, theyve raised their prices to be the same as the big guys, I really cant afford that.
However I cant really knock their service, they do a good job, but I stay on top of anyone servicing my vehicle to make sure what needs to be done is done. For the workers to speak english would be a help, and Jose could have a smile on his face more often.
My biggest reason for not being able to go back to Arandas for more tire related service is cause of the GORGEOUS GIRLS. Theyre really HOT, Ernys a lucky guy to have 3 hot euro babes, but I cant just sit there and let everyone watch me drool over them.
Ernys got a real showroom there, sparkling rims, hot cars and even hotter babes -

Arandas recently had a Groupon for 4 tires for less than 200.00. That was what I was looking to pay for 2, then wait to get paid and pay for 2 more. I had a belt shifted on one of my rear tires creating a annoying and dangerous wobble while driving. The tires were old and starting to dry rot anyway so it was time. So of course when I saw that I could afford to replace all 4 in one shot I bought the deal. Fast foward last Sunday I go in to have my tires installed without calling ahead (dumb idea) only to be told that the Groupon sold out faster then they thought it would and that ALL of their tires in my size were sold out. Though they said they'd be in stock Monday. I asked if they would have enough time to install them if I arrived at 6:30 (they close at 7:00) They said they would. Monday 6:30 I showed up they took my car in and by 6:55 I was driving out with 4 brand new tires. Highly impressed with these guys and will be making my tire purchases from them from now on. Can't give them 5 stars since their tire disposal fee of 5.00 per tire seems a little high, I've worked at new car dealer service depts. and we never charged anything that high, but that's not going to keep me from coming back.

Not able to repair flats on luxury vehicles. Avoid this shop if your car is equipped with air pressure sensors.
After taking our car in to replace a tire, the air pressure sensor read "tire pressure low" on the tire Aramdas repaired. They failed to fix the problem, and when we called about the issue, they told us that "we did our part, we're not responsible for resetting the pressure sensor." In other words, they sold us a tire when they were not able to complete the job correctly. When I asked why they didn't tell us they couldn't reset the sensor before putting a new tire on the car, the rude worker told us that "they don't have to disclose that information."
Try Firestone on North Ave, they know what they are doing. -

Chicago pot holes can suck a fat one...just sayin'. They suck and they end up being costly in most cases and you know what sucks more? One pot hole and two flat tires!
We first went to a tire shop that was part of a franchise, but because I don't have standard tires they were mad expensive just to replace them. The guy only had one tire in stock at any rate. We then remembered that my bf had a flat tire and was able to get a used tire from Arandas aka" that weird tire and rim shop up there on North Avenue with the fake palm trees." My bf game them a call to check and see if they had any used tires available and lo and behold they did. He asked for a quote and when we were finished our final price was less than the quote price--score!
Definitely recommend them! -

This is one of the only tire places open on Sunday. I ran over a nail and came here to get it fixed. I totally recommend this joint! The guys were nice and fast and did a great job. It cost me $11 for them to plug my tire and it was really cool watching them do it too. They put the tire in a vat of water to find out where the hole was. That was awesome.
Come here if you got a flat or apparently if you want to pimp your ride.
** Nice plus - The guys here did not make me feel all gross by whistling at me or anything. I definitely did not feel degraded. -

This place is the WORST! DO NOT GO HERE!!! They charged me $50 to fix a flat and when I got my wheel back it was still leaking. I gave it back to them to refix it, and i secretly watched them do absolutly NOTHING to my wheel, and they gave it back to me saying they fixed it. So I give it back to them a third time, yet and still they lied about fixing it, and my wheel is still leaking. Not to mention they refuse to refund my $50. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! They LIE, SCAM, and are unable to fix something as small as a flat repair. THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!

I had new tires put on there some time ago and everything was ok. One of my tires blew 6 months after that. I went back there to buy another one of the same brand since I didn't want mix match tire brands. I know, how picky could I be? I spoke to Jose, who has little to no personality and seemed highly not interested in me being there. Maybe he was having a bad day? He said he would order another one and it would be there in 2 days. Fine. I go there 2 days later and he said it wasn't ordered. WTF? I wouldn't have asked you to if I wasn't going to be back for it. I went back 3 days later and it hadn't showed up. Hmmm....
Rarely will I call someone out by name. But, Jose, you are the biggest prick I think I've had to deal with in many years. Amongst all of your fancy, shiny rims and expensive tires I am SOOOOOOO sorry to have wasted your time with one freaking tire. Not once did you ever say "thanks for your business" or even crack a smile. Do you really treat your customers this way? Sorry if you were having a bad day, week or month...
Never again will I go there. Thanks for wasting my time. -

I haven't bought tires from them, but I have had them mounted. I usually buy my tires online. Arandas is the cheapest place to get them mounted in the area. They are used to servicing people buying fancy wheels for their SUV there, so when you go in there for just a small thing, the service can be awkward.
The other downside side is that I had an incident one time where they didn't balance one of my tires right. One of my tires was a bit off. It was fine at highway speeds, but when I took it to Road America (race car track) for an open track day, I noticed they didn't do a great job on the tire. Most people wouldn't notice the difference though (unless you drive your car 100+ mph), so my rating is based on the awkward service. -

You may not recognize the name, but anyone who has traveled down Ashland KNOWS this place. Do neon-lit palm trees ring a bell??
Today (a Sunday) I drove over a screw for the second time in three weeks (Note to East Village residents: someone must be scattering screws all over the street, take caution). The first time was on the 4th of July and it was a bitch to find any place open. I ended up going to Just Tires on Clark in Uptown. It was $35 and took about 45 minutes.
Pimp-rim-palm-tree-shop (aka Arandas Tires & Rims) charged $10 to plug the tire and took less than ten minutes. I had called another shop on the drive over and they quoted $21. Arandas is definitely the cheapest place around.
Hopefully I won't be driving over anymore screws (with the amount I pay in street cleaning tickets you'd think they could actually CLEAN the street), but if I do, I know where I'll be going to get my tire fixed. -

"It's not the seal, 'All Day Tire Shop' already 'fixed' that for me, I think the rim is bent, and the lug is stuck, so can you please torch it off and put my spare on."
... a bunch of stupid events and wastes of time later...
"It was the seal, we fixed it."
"wait. I said... what... are you sure?"
2 hours later, and $25.00 (All Day Tire Shop only charged me $10 for the same outcome) I had another flat. Culprit: they didn't listen to me.
I dunno why they get 2 stars and not 1. If I ever need 40" pink rims detailed with strobing basketballs, this seems to be the place to shop for them locally. Maybe that's why. -

I figured that I must have a slow leak in my tire or was on the verge of a flat not to mention it was pouring rain - of course!!!
I've always driven past this place but had no clue what it was - well if you are having issues with tires or need new rims - please check 'em out!!!
20 minutes, $25 dollars to fix the burst seal - done. Plus they have crazy rims to entertain you. -

I love this place. I got a flat. A real nasty one that can't be patched.
I "drove" there at 5 miles per hour. I was expecting to be sold everything possible. The nice guy asked if I wanted to change all the tires. I said no, I just need a temporary used tires since the last place stole my spare.
For about $30 bucks everything was done. In about 20 minutes. I loved it.
Usually to get anything fixed they try to tell me ridiculous things. like if I want to change my transmission fluid 'cause it's dirty. Ugh.
Anyways, surprisingly pleasant. -

Best place to buy used tires. Today sort of sucked, I got not one but two flat tires from the same pothole. It was a bummer. I saw the hole in the tires and knew this would not be cheap. I went to a un-named spot on Western (yes on 2 flats) and they told me $370 for two new tires. I was like thanks but no thanks. That was too much money for my blood. Lucky I remembered this place from back in the day, and bamm... it hit me-- this place sells used tires for mad cheap. We were in and out in 45min and only a nice fraction of the price from the other spot. If your on a budget for new or used tires or some gangster rims, this is the spot to go too.

If you ever need rims or tires this is the place to go.
A couple months ago I got in an accident and one of my rims needed to be replaced. I have aftermarket rims on my car and Arandas turned out to be the only rim shop in Chicago that could get my rim. They have the largest selection of rims and can get you pretty much anything you wish. The place is beautiful and stylish and the guys there are very professional.
They also did an alignment to my car after the shop my insurance sent me to tried and couldn't do it. I brought it back to Arandas and they took care of it. They are the only ones that do alignments on cars with bigger than the original size rims.
I highly recommend those guys if you need any kind of rim and tire service. -

I guess if you need to give your car or truck some bling, trick it out with some spinners, maybe give it some 21's you can come here. I didn't come here for that. This was my saving grace. I was meeting some friends for dinner, I had an impending flat, my spare had been stolen and the several places... I do mean several, said that they could not fix it that night... perhaps tomorrow many said. Um, no. Not a chance. However one was good enough to suggest that I come here. When I pulled in I was nervous. I had already warned my friends I had a situation and I was worried about making it for dinner. Well, I was in and out with in 20 minutes. They quickly had me pull in, patched it and had me on my way for $20 bucks. If I have a tire that is flopping all over the place and I am in the area, I will be stopping by here with no hesitation.

I got a flat tire and thought I needed a whole new one. The gracious gentleman at Arandas told me otherwise, however, and fixed mine for about $15. This is especially remarkable because I have "sucker" basically stamped across my forehead as regards automotive stuff. They were finished in ten minutes, and refused a tip. The bonus of Arandas tires is of course the electric palm trees and the badass rims adorning the place- I thought maybe there would be strippers inside or something, but no, just prompt, courteous service.

Arandas is a West Town institution. The neon palm trees and facade of gleaming rims lets you know this is no Just Tires. If you've got a flat tire, go to Arandas. For $15 to $20 they will plug (internally) and balance your tire while you wait. If you're lucky some nice rides will be in the parking lot to check out as you enjoy a Popsicle from one of the pushcart vendors that stroll by. Arandas is a cultural experience that exemplifies why I live in the city.

I'm not one for rims and such, but I happily recommend Arandas more utilitarian services. These guys do a great job! If you got a broken seal or just need a patch job, they'll do it superfast, and they're very courteous.

I echo the comments from other reviewers not to be intimidated by the exterior of the shop. I always drive by the shop, but thought that it was a place only for suped up cars, not to think a female with a regular honda accord could get service from them. After reading the reviews from Yelp, I decided to try them out.
I had a nail in my tire and had brought my car to the All Day Tire shop to have it removed. The All Day Tire shop was very honest and told me that they could remove it, but that the tire was damaged and that they would not recommend me driving on it as it can blow out. I didn't have it done there because they don't have the tools to balance the tire. They put my tire back on my car. I took it to Arranda's to get their assessment. They had the same assessment. I didn't exactly understand why another tire was needed and they patiently explained to me why as well as showing me examples of what my tire could look like if I didn't have it replace. Got a used tire from them, installed and balance, all for only 50 bucks! Dealt with the owner. Older man, really friendly! They've been in business for 20+ years. There is a reason why. I highly recommend this place! -

Flat tire on my way to a BBQ on a hot day with a dozen cupcakes in the backseat of my '00Sunfire (translation: inefficient air conditioning)... 15 minutes and $15 later, I was on my way; so happy I gave the guy a cupcake. He made my day, I made his. Thank you, Aranda's.

Open late on weeknights. $15 or $20 plug. Seems honest. Nice guys. Bonus is the video near the check out counter with the hot women in bikinis oogling the spinners

I went here to have a set of 4 new tires mounted, balanced and installed on my existing stock rims. The tires had just been shipped from Tire Rack and were a quality brand with good reviews. Unfortunately, while their rates were reasonable, I don't think Arandas did a very good job. They rushed me in and out with almost zero communication, (the installer seemed to speak no English at all) and I think they screwed up my alignment while working on the car, because my brand new tires were totally shot in front after just a few months. I realize Chicago has a lot of bumps and potholes, but these should have been at least 40,000 mile tires, (rated for more) and I didn't even get 3,000 from them! The front end might have been a little off when I brought it in, but it was under a year since my last alignment, and the previous tires, which were a crappier brand, wore down much more evenly, with less shaking and vibration at high speeds. They shooed me out of the garage when I brought the car in, so I can't prove Arandas was to blame for the poor performance, but in the few minutes I was there, I didn't see them doing any balancing at all, and I did see them whacking at the wheels with metal sledgehammers, and using air wrenches where stuff should have been hand tightened. Also, when I tried to put air in my new tires for the first time, I found that one of the valve stems was inaccessible. I think it was twisted and squashed under the hubcap, which confirmed my suspicion about receiving hasty, shoddy work. The service prices seem low here, but beware of false economy :-(

Yelp is the best for when you need auto stuff. I went here based on the reviews and sure enough they fixed it up quickly for only $20. If i am stuck with a flat again I will definitely return. What is great is they are open 7 days a week too.

This place was a total rip off. I got 2 flat tires (Thank you Chicago pot holes) and when tArandas told me they could not be repairs, (which is believeable because they were pretty bad) they told me both needed to be replaced, and, beacuse they saw my desperation, they charged me at an outrageous price per tire. Because I have specialized tires (special brand and special size), Ithought they were gonna replace them with the same tires (he spoke broken English). They were the special size alright but the brand was a brand that most places dont even carry because they are so cheap. Never again.

Unfortunately, we had a run of suspiciously flattened tires and we had to come here multiple times for patch ups. We have also bought a new set of tires there. I appreciate that they always seem on the level. Also, they'll do a patch up at no charge; you just have to tip the guy (if you want, I suppose).

I hit a huge pothole and bent my after-market rim on my Mazda3.. Estimates at other places were several hundred dollars to replace the rim. I called Arandas and talked to the nice woman on the phone who said to come in so Jose could take a look.
Jose was incredible, I don't know what he did but he had the rim fixed in 20minutes from when I walked in. I had shredded the inside of the tire as well (something I hadn't know but was glad to see when they showed me), fortunately they had a comparable tire at a great price. All together I walked out saving over a couple hundred bucks - at the holiday's nonetheless.
One of the few "friendly" local businesses. I don't see myself as the type of person who would seek out designer rims, but after my experience at Arandas I'd never rule it out.
Highly recommend!
(LOYAL C - I can't believe the filth you are spewing on this otherwise great forum. Arandas Tires and Rims is the MOST RELIABLE shop in Chicago - as someone from Miami I'm not sure what gives you the right to make a biased opinion about a business you've likely never been to. To say such things about the workers, your mother would be ashamed. I'm greeted with a smile EVERYTIME I go there. With the potholes in Chicago, I go often.) -

HORRID customer service. The workers gave little to no information about the services I was receiving. My presence seemed to be ruining their day. No options were given, nothing was clear. Finally it turned out I needed new rims (hey, the perfect place for them, right?) but the worker advised I visit my car dealership. No explanations given. So frustrating!
