Love their salads. You get such a good portion for a pretty good price. Their chicken for the salad is so well seasoned that you don't necessarily even need to use the dressing. AND it comes with a can of soda or bottle of water.

The other thing that I've ordered from them that's great as well is their pasta. Good deal for the amount of food and tastes great.

Aram's No. 2- the stalwart food joint of East Cambridge; the one constant, aside of course from the constant overturn of other neighborhood joints over the years (with maybe the exception of Courthouse Seafood). Although you had to make your name as Aram's No. 2, you are and always have been No. 1; it is clear since I believe the former Aram's No. 1 (no affiliation) sits vacant in a bustling Inman Square.

Your pizzas are always good, consistent Greek-style (somewhere between deep dish and thin crust, with a nice, crunchy, thick-ish outer crust); one of the few places that actually gets the pepperoni to that nice, dark, crisp state that approaches but never quite reaches burnt. That's peperoni's happy place, complete with a midget wearing a cowboy outfit riding a tricycle. The actual "Greek style" pizza gets the sausage's edges crispy as well with loads of feta, b. olives, and peppers too: Mmmmm.

Your subs (or grinders as your old school sign used to proclaim to passers-by). You make a mean steak & cheese, with loads of ooey-gooey dairy embracing shaved steak in one greasy-ass hug of goodness. Add mushrooms and it's even all the better. And your cheeseburger subs conjure the same type of witchery with said cheese+meat in a way that doesn't seem natural.

While your salads (I go for Greek) are usually 70% iceberg lettuce (deduct a point) the remaining 30% usually comprises a ton of feta, a few pepponcini and kalamatas, and a couple of (unfortunately usually over/under ripe) tomato slices almost makes up for it. Add grilled chicken though, and it's more than made up for in several generous chunks of poultry marinated in almost a soy (though I'm assuming that's not right) marinade in this juicy, saltiness that goes so frickin' well with the feta.

You're one of the few places in the hood open past 10:00 pm too, which is a big plus. Oh and order a salad or small pizza get a free can of soda/bottle of water. Ordered a large pizza? Make that two of said beverage. Order 2 large pizzas? Why not take either a 2 liter or a small cheese pizza thrown in- great for parties!

4.5 stars. Sorry, I almost never round up, not even for a place I've been going since before I can remember.

When your usual East Cambridge pizza joint is closed and you are having unexpected and unusual pizza cravings, it forces a change in your routine, so Aram's it is.

We were very pleasantly surprised and will be back. The place has been here on Cambridge Street forever and attracts a strong loyal following, including off duty cops, people waiting for their court date and MBTA bus drivers who park the bus out front. Just about eight dollars gets you a small pizza with two toppings and a soda or a bottled water.

The crust is much lighter and much more delicate than Scampa's, which is half a block away, and the veggies are very crisp.

Took ten minutes, as promised, and it was an easy wait. The place is nothing fancy, but it is clean and bright. There are booths to sit in and you can watch the guys do their thing in the kitchen- a well-choreographed pas de deux of pizza making harmony.

This is one of those old fashioned looking places you sometimes walk on by, but if you find yourself hungry and in the vicinity of the Courthouse in East Cambridge for any reason, stop on in. The guys are friendly and the menu familiar. You may find us in there now that we have discovered a new friend in the neighborhood serving up high calorie goodness and carbs.

This place is great. The food is good and inexpensive. The staff is friendly and responsive.
Not exactly the place to go if you are counting calories but I suppose you would walk in with that assumption regardless.

My only grief is that the salads kind of suck. Any way we can work on making the salads a little more fresh and use some greens other than iceberg lettuce?

Do you like feta on your greek salad?
Aram's gives you feta.  Lots and lots of crumbly feta.  Enough to coat every nook and cranny of every bite sized chunk of ice berg lettuce.  The greek salad is also served with some green peppers, tomato wedges, a few cucumber slices, a couple kalamata olives (watch out for pits!), and two juicy pepperoncinis.  Oh, and of course a nice container of standard greek dressing and a pita on the side.  If you like grilled chicken with your greek salad, Aram's serves up a healthy portion of fresh grilled and moist marinated chicken.  Nice.

Do you like soda with your pizza?
Aram's gives you two can's of soda as a complimentary add-on when you order a large pizza.  And this pizza isn't such a bad pizza at that.

If you like any other number of sub foods, I'm sure Aram's meets par.  Even the interior is like any other sub shop interior - walk to the tall counter at the back, order from one guy or the other, grab your soda from the fridge to the right, take a seat at the questionably clean particle board booth until you eats are readay, be served, pay up, and enjoy like you love it - but like I said from the beginning:

Aram's knows, and delivers on something that I have been disappointed about from time to time at other below-par sub shops, that people like feta.

Ordinary Greek style pizza. You should stop reading the review now. You know everything you need to know about Aram's #2. The sauce is ordinary. The cheese is ordinary. The crust is ordinary. I had a slice not half an hour ago and I can hardly remember it. Aram's #2 is in no way a stand out; it's not that good; it's not that bad.

The eggplant sub is good enough. Exactly what you should expect from a sub shop, heavily salted and heavily breaded. The sauce for it is pretty good.

Strangely the mozzarella sticks aren't that good.

Aram's #2 is nothing terribly special.  What they do have going for them is that they are close to my house and when I am too drunk/lazy to cook for myself I know I can get anything in "10 minutes".

Their pizzas are OK.  Oddly they are MUCH better in the small sizes.  Not sure how that works out but the veggie pizza is actually pretty good in small and rather meh in large.

This is not the place you wan to go for memorable food.  For consistent, fast fare this is the place.

This is Arams 2...NOT Arams #1. They have no relation except for the same name and being located on the same damn street...go figure..I learned the hardway when I called in for a pickup. I called #1, went to #2 and boy were they pissed!

Yes...all the reviews are right on. Greek pizza...I live literally two streets over. So it is our "go to" pizza...It is always busy.........and yet, it will ALWAYS take "10 minute"

when i am not in the mood for pizza, i get the grilled chicken salad w/Kens steakhouse light Italian Dressing. They give you a HUGE pita.....salad is pretty damn good! Lettuce and tomatoes are fresh.

So yeah, if you move near here check it out.
If you have a court date for that damn misdemeanor...or uh, felony........and you want to catch lunch before you get your judgment. Than go there with your lawyer. I am sure they will pay
IT is only $10 for a large pizza and two can soda's!

I did not expect a pizza like this...in a good way. I came in here with low expectations, with preconceived notions on EXACTLY what the pizza would be like. I was wrong.

Very good dough, good cheese, and sauce with some kick. Throw in some quality toppings and two free cans of soda and this place has earned a spot in my pizza rotation.

Inside can be hectic and busy but that's because the place is good. If your favorite pizza joint NEVER has any customers when you're in there...then that's a bad sign.

Give this place a shot, it's worth it.

I thought people were joking when they said that Aram's No 2 had no association with Arams's #1, which is a half mile down the street. But when I read on the Aram's No 2 menu that there is in fact no relation, I became a believer.

Arams No 2 is perfect if you live in East Cambridge and want a decent pie for cheap. What I do is place an order for pick-up, that way you get two cans of soda with the pizza. This is my go-to pizza joint but simply because of the proximity to my apartment. No need to go out of your way to hit up No 2.

Consistently good pizza; consistently fast;  consistent value for the few dollars you'll spend. This isn't 4 star review for fine dining; this is a 4 star review for consistently exceeding the standard of what this type of place should be.

I order pizza a lot more often than I should. Of all the neighborhood's spots (La Hacienda, Dilara, etc.), this is the one that gets my business.

mr. obbs here to defend Arams #2 from the slanderous words of Truereview.

I stopped by Arams #2 after a rainy day of apartment hunting back in November of 2007.  A drizzle had chilled every inch of my body.  I was stumbling down Cambridge street and managed to make my way to the counter.

I ordered a slice of cheese and a can of coke for under 3 bucks.  The cheese was gooey and delicious-- as though formed using the milk from a teat of a golden calf.

    The crust was ok, too.

These guys deliver as well.  They're cheap, and mighty friendly behind the counter.  Holler at em!!!!!

Oh!  and i did not get an apartment out there, FOR THE RECORD.  The j-holes with the open room turned me down.  WTF!?  Who does that!?

Aram's is the bomb! It's a local pizza shop featuring the same guys every day/night cooking behind the counter. I've enjoyed everything I've gotten here, from a sausage calzone to a tuna grinder. It's ALL delicious, and I enjoy the atmosphere. They even throw in a free can of coke with a small pizza or salad. Don't miss this place!

I honestly have no idea where these great reviews are coming from.  The pizza at Aram's is good... not great... just good.  The subs are also good... nothing phenomenal.  And the service... well it is... um... miserable.  It's usually pretty fast... but don't expect anything friendly.  I'll keep going because it is in the neighborhood and the closest place for pizza... but I will not rave about it.  This is a mediocre place with mediocre food and sub par service.

My co-workers order delivery from this place for lunch at least once a week and I have permanently written it off. Their pizza is run of the mill Greek style covered in grease and I've ordered numerous subs that are well below average, I even ordered a toasted salami and cheese that had all of four pieces of salami on it and the edges were burnt. I had thought I couldn't have gone wrong with something that simple but I did. Anyway, there are better sub shops in the area, like KHOP they actually use real chicken in their chicken parm, not frozen chicken hockey pucks like they do here.

I came here before late last year and tried there pizza, and steak and cheese. Both were bland. The pizza was better than frozen pizza, but definitely no where near great. Average would be the best way to say it. The cheese steak was to well done, you can only taste cheese and burnt oil, not good at all. Today I stopped in and had an Italian grinder. It was good, but man I had some really great grinders. This place gets 3 stars for cheap average food.  Their is no atmosphere here, they do take credit, which is a plus.
