    FRIENDLY! finally....

Great transition and kudos to the new management or whomever it is that sparked the changes.

Food was always good, when they got around to it.  Coffee was always good.

Still a fan, but now even moreso...

Arabica is gone!  Richfield Gourmet Cafe has risen from the ashes.

Roy and his staff are trying against all odds to shed the horrid memory of lousy service, lack of product and spotty management.  Give them another try.  They are working hard to bring the place back.

Roy and his staff have brought back great something that is missing in many food establishments: CUSTOMER SERVICE! And who wouldn't want a yummy HOMEMADE panini samich + drink + side for lunch? It boggles my mind when the sheep keep coming and going into Subway when they have this gem two doors down. Thanks for the post about the Turkish coffee -- I need to try some. Oh, and the muffins -- fugghetaboutit -- they are SO friggin' good. I also love the chicken or veggie Samosa (spell?) that Roy has. Plus hummus, spinach/feta pot pies. Yum. It's my go-to for lunch.

The incompetence of this establishment is so mindblogging, they leave me no choice but go off on them once again. I can't sit idle while these people mock 40,000 years of human progress and innovation.

Yesterday was a fairly typical experience at Arabica:

    1) The pastry case is practically empty. They are chronically out of muffins here. Does Marie Antoinette manage their supply chain logistics? I mean, seriously, how hard is it? (Reference the photo. ) And even when they do have inventory, their muffins and assorted breakfast pastry items are the worst. I've actually spit out some of their offerings before....that's how bad it is....bad enough for me to forcibly eject pastry out of my car window at 65 m.p.h. If you see discarded chunks of stale muffin littering I-271, those are Arabica muffins.

    2) They screwed up my coffee order.

    3) The credit card reader wasn't working.

These crimes are relatively benign compared to some of my other complaints about Arabica. Let me provide you with some additional pieces evidence to support my claims that this coffee shop is managed by bumbling baffoons:

EXHIBIT A: I once ate a blueberry muffin from here that contained a grand total of exactly ONE blueberry. Singular. Solo. Perhaps this was my fault. Perhaps I needed to be more specific when I ordered it, and should have asked for a "blueberries muffin", with an emphasis on the plural.

EXHIBIT B: A few weeks ago, I walked in the front door to find one of the employees face-down asleep in a booth, with his ass-crack prominently on public display. Yes, I'll have the 12-oz. decaf with a side of open ass, thank you?

EXHIBIT C: They are closed on Sunday. Tell me, what kind of coffee house is closed on Sunday? Now, I've heard a rumor that the owners adopted this totally INSANE policy because of religious reasons. Ok, then, but what would Jesus think? What if He couldn't get his Sunday morning brew? I'm no bible scholar, but I think He would be pissed. Pissed enough that He would start patronizing Satan's franchise.....Starbucks.

In addition to serving homemade Greek food and better service on both a personal and professional level, this place now serves properly made Turkish Coffee and sells Hookahs! Of course you cant use the Hookahs in the store. Lots of good changes going on here!

I was in town for a job interview and was early so I thought some coffee would be great. I saw that this place was close and people on yelp had reviewed it so I thought I'd give it a try. They did not disappoint. I got a chocolate raspberry coffee which is typically my standard to judge by and it was pretty darn good. I also had a raspberry scone since I needed some food. I would have given the place five stars but the staff wasn't the best. Ok. But not exactly friendly. That wouldn't stop me from going again.
