Review from Craig L.
Looking for a way to help out those New Year's Resolutions that are falling by the wayside. Look no further than this place. A nice, clean lap pool for those who are looking to just do laps. Small but quality locker rooms and a very nice staff. 12' Deep "dive tank" for scuba lessons but available for casual swimming other times. One of my favorite things about this place is the convenient punch pass option. Rather than paying for a month pass where I might only go 2-3 times, I have a punch pass that only gets used when I go in. So if I go 2 times a month (I should go more), I won't need a new pass for the whole year. And at a much cheaper price than other places because of the style of pass.
Listed in: The Yelp 100 challenge, late…

I took the Discover SCUBA class here. The instructors were nice, but I feel like they breezed over the basics in favor of teaching us a few skills that were representative of what you would learn in a certification class. The instructor I had for the classroom portion rushed through the presentation and explanation of equipment to the point that there was a bunch of time to kill before the pool part started. It would have been nice, since there were only 6 students, to spend some time showing us the equipment in detail before we put it on.
I love snorkeling and I think I would've wanted to pursue SCUBA further, if the class focused a little more on the "why" and "how" things work and the basics of SCUBA, with instructors who remember what it's like to be a timid beginner. -

Aquatic Adventures has a lap pool, a dive well and a store, but I've only ever used the lap pool. I'm training for a race so I've been coming once a week since the start of the year.
They do sometimes have lanes reserved for different teams and lessons, so you'll have to call ahead or check on the website to see what open swim hours are on the particular day you'd like to go. They also have the current and next week's schedules posted at the entrance. It seems to be consistent during the week, but varies a bit each weekend. (At least during the winter. I imagine it's a lot different in the summer when outdoor pools open.) The nice thing about the schedules they post are you can see exactly how many lanes are open for each half-hour. As in, I can see when it's open swim with two lanes available vs. open swim with all six available.
The pool seems clean and there is always a lifeguard on duty. The staff are pretty friendly and are willing to answer questions. They have different membership options - daily, monthly and punch cards. The punch card works pretty well for my usage. The only complaint I have is that once the online schedule wasn't up to date and i ended up showing up in what i thought was open swim, but the lanes were all reserved for a swim club. I guess you can always call and double-check. -

Offers PADI and SDI certifications. I ended up not doing my cert here because I figured after diving in Belize, I was pretty much guarenteed to be completely bored and not amused by diving in a local 20ft deep quarry.
The staff are plenty knowledgeable, friendly and weren't pushy at all.
They have a large lap pool which they offer memberships to and also allow you to rent it for parties/events. The second pool is more for diving training, and both looked very clean.
I purchased my mask here, as I was concerned with getting the proper fit and was happy to spend a more here than online, as I wouldn't be stuck w/ something that either didn't fit, or that required me to send back and exchange later. -

Aquatic Adventures specializes in swimming instruction and scuba diving instruction. The swimming pool and store is separated from the diving pool and store but still in the same building. For swimming, they teach children to swim from preschoolers to school age. General water skills are the beginning level, and then they move up to stroke development. Arthritis relief and resistance classes are also available. Water exercise courses are another opportunity. The pool is an Olympic lap pool. In the store they sell swimsuits, gear and soaps and shampoos to get the chlorine out.
On the scuba diving side it looks cooler. There's a huge fish tank with lots of the kinds of fish from Finding Nemo in it, including clownfish and blue tangs. They sell an array of wet suits, BCDs, fins, masks and other gear as well as magazines and other literature, fish identification charts, and even necklaces with scuba diver charms. Aquatic Adventures introduces scuba diving to children in the Bubblemakers class. They also have snorkeling classes. As for scuba diving, they have discover scuba programs, certification programs beginning with open water and going up to master scuba diver and specialties, and scuba reviews and refresher courses.
A fun thing about Aquatic Adventures is the also host swimming, snorkeling and scuba parties. They're not cheap, though. For a swimming party it costs $200 for up to 12 people. With that you get 1 hour pool time, either in the lap pool or dive tank, 1 hour in the party room, dive rings, lifeguard supervision, napkins, balloons, Graeter's Ice Cream, bottled water and an Aquatic Adventures gift to the birthday child. You can also pay to play with two water scooters for 30 minutes. A scuba party costs $250 for 1 to 4 people and $325 for 5 to 8 people; and is available only for those 10 years or older. You get the same package that the swimming party does only you also get a supervised diving session as well. Adult supervision is required and forms must be signed in order to dive.
