Got a good deal on the big suite. One thing I really appreciated, (being that I am all about the big rooms!) was that after booking the room online.......a window pops up asking if available, would I upgrade to the next better room for $20 -$30 per night. Wellllll, since the next room up was the 1200 sq ft Grand Suite......Hell yes. I did and upon checking in, it was available and we got it.

Nice room. In the Adult only tower. Floor to ceiling windows overlooking the river.  The local cafe was good, the buffet was good....decor was nice, and the staff was ALL super friendly. The only complaint I could muster was that we called in Sat morning for room service and was told the wait was up to 1.5 hours. No Bueno.

The gambling on the other hand is a story for another day.

First of all Goldman Sachs has their hand in this casino, yes they own it so we all know what that means! Your not going to win squat!
Seriously you go into this casino  and you see nobody winning. When It was the "Flamingo Hilton" you saw tons of people winning, including myself.

Secondly, most of the employees here are very unhappy and that means bad service and bad attitudes especially upon check in.

And lastly, I recently stayed in a suite and payed a premium rate.  We found a bunch of clipped nasty old man toenails in the room! These suckers were gross. I brought it up to managements attention and nobody cared.

Do you self a favor, if you want to win, try your luck at the Colorado Bell. I saw some lady win 5K right in front of me. I saw another lady win a royal flush.

Overall, we liked the hotel, it had obviously been renovated, and, from what we could tell, is the nicest in Laughlin.

Staff. The front desk, casino, and restaurant staff, were all friendly and cordial.

Room. The room was $39 a night during the week was nicely appointed, but we were sorry to see the refrigerator had been removed. The only other negative was that the walls were too thin - i.e. you heard the adjoining room's toilets being flushed, TVs, conversations etc.

Casino. The casino is very nice with good cocktail service, but we found the slots excessively tight and had much better luck at the adjoining casinos!

Food. We ate at the buffet for lunch, and found it good - but if we had not used a $5.00 coupon and 10% players discount we'd have thought it over-priced. (Tip: If you're cheap like us - but like good food - try Daniel's, next door on Tuesdays for their EXCELLENT tacos prices range from $1.50 to $2.60! We also recommend the bar downstairs at the Edgewater (right next to Coco's) they have great $3 gourmet (filet minion, shrimp) sliders during happy hour plus $3 glasses of wine!

The hotel itself was ok it's Laughlin but the Cafe another story we had a cock roach crawling on our table! After killing it I took it to the hostess she got the manager but I left after all what was there to say. The food on the buffet was not hot and little taste. We won't go back.

The best hotel in Laughlin. It is an old Hilton converted over to a private Casino. I thought the staff was great. The place has a good layout and the lighting is much better than other casinos here. My room had plenty of space and was clean. The view of the River is fantastic from higher floors! You can walk over to Edge-water Casino to try out there slots. I also had the buffet here. The crab legs were pretty good. The room walls our thin so I would recommend sleeping and cleaning up only. It was nice to have the "Adult" tower which prevented me from having screaming kids in adjacent rooms. Other Casinos had rooms for half the price, but they had exterior entry doors. If your going to be in Laughlin, I would suggest staying here.
The dealers are Awsome at the tables. They are friendly and know what there doing. Some other Casinos in town don't have trained dealers. I like the relaxed style at the tables. You didn't here folks getting in trouble for using the wrong hand in craps etc..

We stayed here last Saturday night. The valet and front desk staff were very friendly and nice, offering us many suggestions of what to do in the area off Casino Drive. Our room was clean, and there was a flat screen TV in the room.
The reason this hotel only got a 3 was because of the very thin walls, and the toilet was awful. It would not remove waste from the bowl on just one flush. We were only staying for one night, and didn't want to be bothered by maintenance or to move rooms. By the sounds coming through the thin walls, we were not the only ones who had this problem. All night long I heard our neighbors flushing their toilets multiple times in a row. For $65 I expect better.

Just got back from our second trip here and my true opinion is that the rooms are nice and clean, good slot variety and friendly dealers at table games! The bartenders we dealt with were all great!
My only complaints are first, they need more late night food options than Subway and not sure if room service is available as I never saw a menu in our room! Also they need a poker room!
My biggest complaint is that for being a remodeled resort , you should have a Hot Tub and a place to get a massage!

Booked a room for River Run weekend.  First of all...compared to the other hotels got a great rate...believe it or not $149 a night for that weekend is a "great rate."  Room was clean, nice, and bed was comfortable.  Love that there is an Outback in the hotel and Splash H2Oh! was awesome for evening drinks.  Only complaints...we got a coupon for $5 off food for opting out of housekeeping for the weekend, but everytime we tried to use it found it wasn't valid.  Also, it seemed as if they raised the rates a little in the Starbucks, but these are minor complaints!!  Oh...and I didn't win :-/

It's Laughlin.  There aren't any really nice places.  My Mom and I decided to take a "daycation" this weekend.  I booked a reservation online and was a little surprised by the $65 rate.  Seemed a bit pricey for a hotel in Laughlin.  It was last minute, and a Saturday, so we were willing to pay this amount.  We got there around 3pm and there was a long line for check-in, which surprised me.  Once we got checked in (which probably took 20 minutes), we dropped our bags off in the room (which was a bit outdated) and headed to the Cafe for a late lunch.  The prices were reasonable and the service was OK.  I had the french dip with mushrooms and my Mom had the cobb salad.  Both were pretty good.  We signed the check to charge to our room and started to walk out.  I even checked with our server on the way out to make sure everything was good to go, and he said we were settled.  We got in the casino and he chased us down to say that we aren't able to charge to our room.  We were not aware of this, and the front desk agent did not mention anything at check-in.  This would have been nice to know, and would've saved some embarassment.

The casino itself was PACKED.  I couldn't believe how many people were there.  Cocktail service was OK, depending on where we sat.  I found it odd that they only have light beers. No Sam Adams or Newcastle or anything.  I really dislike Bud Light (and other light beers) and was really disappointed with the selection.  So I chose to drink Corona. Later on in the night, I ordered a shot of Jameson and the waitress came back to say that they don't have that. WHAT?! How is that even possible?  So I had to drink some nasty well whiskey.  ICK.

Anyhow, we were given a 1pm late check out, which was nice since we were up pretty late.  You are not able to do the express check-out on the tv after Noon, so we had to stop at the front desk to check-out.

Overall, I guess you get what you pay for and it was nothing spectacular.

Seriously and front desk didn't do anything about it.
Played roulette one night and a pit boss gave away my card to someone else with all my points and rewards on it. And to a man nonetheless. Didn't want to make me another after his mistake so i went to someone higher than him and he gladly made me another. They can make cards anytime dont let them tell you no!
Never going back to this hotel. Will miss wolfey tho, shes an amazing roulette dealer!

review from a 5-guy trip, havent been to laughlin since 1998.

The former flamingo is all over the place. Probably 2nd nicest casino next to golden nugget. Lots of slots, hate that, very few open 21 tables which I love but can't play because packed in and very limited. After 6-7pm they have more open, but all casinos pack-in their tables and its very annoying. 2 whole craps tables, only 1 open most of the time. Awful table game selection, as are all casinos here. Makes the casino in the movie REINDEER GAMES seen like the WYNN.  They have 1 double deck table, its $25.00. All other table games $10 to 15 minimum. Not cool.
Dealers range from friendly, to playfully abusive (in a good way LISA!) to helpful; liked all. Just pissed that forced to play weak games/rules but no choice, and no time to go all over and search. Awful rules like cant double after split, hit S17; NO ONE CARES OF COURSE BUT ME.

Food consists of subway, buffet, outback, and some italian (my ass) restaurant didnt care for or try.
Outback is good as long as you dont eat seafood, their tilapia with crab meat was smelly and disgusting; but best buffalo wings ON THE PLANET.
Buffet for breakfast good but limited. Omelette station the highlight here. Not liking the sunny d served as orange juice.

Rooms very very clean, comfy, enjoyed very much. Except very noisy outside, hearing a generator perhaps? It sounds like you are in an airplane. But pretend you are and you have a bed, you;ll feel/sleep better.
Cheap cheap cheap. Buffet is $12.00 with players card, rooms like 150 for a sat and sund. Was fair.
Wish stayed at Nugget, its looks like a mini-mirage there.

Had $114 bill for food, didnt comp me a penny, even though I played at least 6 hours total, with an average bet of $25.00. I guess I was playing the wrong game to get comped, and my counting probably didnt help either. Well' Ill take the 1k won at 21 over a free buffet and 3k slot loss anyday.

P.S. if you want to see any, I mean ANY eye candy---dealers, cocktail waitresses, patrons, bell desk u name it....go 2 vegas.
Except for 1 chick at check-in; (last name Tomeli?) I think she sucked the entire hotness of the city. Makes my grandma's retirement home look like studio 54.
    ZERO nightlife

We loved Aquarius! Out of a lot of the hotels there, is was very updated, beds were comfy and the price was good for the rooms. If we come back to laughlin, we will be staying here. Casino was clean, people were nice, drinks are good, and the staff knows their stuff. :) they have a pool, tennis courts and even a small arcade for kids if you have kids.

I love Laughlin and have a few favorite hotels in that city.  They all seem to go through times of prosperity but generally start falling apart due to lack of maintenance, heavy foot traffic and so forth.  I have wanted to stay at the Aquarius for some time but just didn't get around to it.

My room was a deluxe room and the window was floor to ceiling with a view of the river that was fantastic.  I paid a little more for it, but it was well worth it.  The view is the reason my rating is five star.

They have a very nice buffet and nice restaurants in the lobby.  Now that I have stayed there, I think this will be my destination of choice.  Be sure to get a room with a river view.

Was here this week. Stayed for 3 nights.
2 things I didn't like.... the smoke!!! I guess Nevada forgot to let people know the consequences of second hand smoke.....
And the second thing we really didn't like.... what's up with house keeping showing up at 9 in the morning? It's a Casino, people tend to stay up late right? All 3 mornings we were there, they walked in on us.... well, getting dressed, or in the shower. REALLY ANNOYING!

Everything else was great! The rooms are clean and really nice, we were happy to see a Subway, Starbucks and Outback in there. Although Subway was soooo expensive!!! It was nuts!

Our favorite part of the trip..... No kids tower!!! For us traveling without children that was a blessing!!!!

    We will stay here again

This review is based on the area of where it's at and I'm not comparing it to Vegas hotels as it would be unfair. With Laughlin, don't expect much and it's certainly no Vegas. There's gambling and you can partake in the Colorado River be it swimming, jet skiing or boating. You'll mostly see elderly people and families. You won't see swanky places or eye candy.

From the hotels I've seen online in Laughlin, this place was the nicest. We did step into a couple of hotels in this area (Harrah's and Avi) and if you're grown and don't want a daycare's amount of kids storming to get in the elevator (like the Avi), come to this place. They may not have their own beach like Harrah's but you can rent a jet ski along the boardwalk or make a drive to Bullhead City across the river and save some bucks. The Bullhead City side does have an area across from Laughlin where you pay $5 to go swimming and enjoy the Colorado River. Be warned it's COLD yet it's quite soothing compared to the 110 degree heat.

We got a room with a view of the Colorado river in the grown up tower. BTW it does cost extra to have a riverside view but worth it IMO. The room we got was clean and had the amenities that would satisfy except for room service. My food took nearly two hours to arrive because they effed up by sending it to the wrong room and still charging me full price hence the one star markdown. That and they didn't bother to contact me about it until I asked them where my food was.

Lastly, this hotel doesn't have in-room safes but they do have safe deposit boxes at the cashier area where you can leave your valuables.

We will stay here again the next time we end up in Laughlin.

    UPDATE AUG 2011:
We came back at the last weekend of August. Got the offer in the mail over a month ago for two nights through their Ace Play card. We decided at the last minute to take them up as business was slow for us (as summer is slow in our respective businesses).

We did a sorda red eye run arriving at 2AM. Originally we were supposed to get a panoramic room which we did by paying a small upgrade fee. When we arrived to the room, there were a few things wrong to the point this room wasn't gonna work. One was the TV remote didn't work and housekeeping brought a new remote and it didn't work with the TV. Plus our luggage hadn't arrived at the time as well.

So we said we would just take the standard comp room and to our surprise they gave us a suite unit instead. We got their suite for three nights which two of those nights are comped! The third night was the cost of what we would of paid per the Ace card rate for the comp room rate. So for the three nights, we got to have a rockin suite and the only thing we wish is to have more company to utilize it right. The grand total for the bill was $57 which included one night and the amenities,

BTW, they have a good gym there and you can get a good workout.

I'll start by stating that if this was Vegas, it would not be getting 5 stars.  But I do enjoy Laughlin for the cheap prices and river adventures.  Wanted to make it clear that this is the BEST hotel casino in Laughlin.  I've been staying here since it was the Flamingo, but the upgrades made since becoming the Aquarius are truly impressive.

An Outback Steakhouse and Starbucks were added to an already extensive list of food options, including Burger King, Subway, Panda Express, Dryer's Ice Cream, a 24 hour diner, brunch and dinner buffets, and Vineyard upscale Italian cuisine.  Room service is excellent.  You will not go hungry.

The rooms have all been completely remodeled with new beds, large flat screens, even shower heads.  They all have floor to ceiling windows and most offer stunning views of the Colorado River, casino strip, and surrounding landscapes.  There are 2 towers of rooms and one is an adult tower.  It's a good idea to keep the families and little kids separate from the ragers.

They've added cabanas to the swimming pool, which is otherwise pretty average.  There are tennis courts next to the pool.  There is also a dock right outside of the hotel to catch the river taxi or rent a seadoo.

Now for the gambling!  The casino floor has been completely redone and is the best place to play in Laughlin.  Lots of table games, lots of state-of-the-art slots, large sportsbook, lots of bars throughout, and a generally younger crowd (by Laughlin standards).  They keep the place nice and chilly, which you'll appreciate after being outside on Mercury.

Other Laughlin tips: Colorado Belle is good for poker and the Boiler Room restaurant.  The Riverside is good for families since it offers a bowling alley, movie theaters, car museum, and arcade.  Riverside also offers a select group of pet-friendly rooms.  Harrah's has the best buffet and the best steakhouse - The Range.

Laughlin is no match to Vegas but we go over frequently due to family that retired in the area. We've stayed at most of the hotels in Laughlin and twice now at the Aquarius.

We booked a room again at the Aquarius based on our first stay there; clean, modern rooms with a more upscale vibe than the other hotels. Both times we stayed, we asked at check-in for a river view and both times, we were given rooms with pretty impressive views of the river and the lights of Laughlin. Also, there is a Starbucks in the lobby which has free wi-fi and it's open 24 hours.

Things I don't like about the Aquarius:
#1 - the beds were too soft. Softness does not equal "plush". My back is still killing me.
#2 - The exfoliating bath towels - seriously, you've spent some money on decor, how about spending another .0025 on fabric softener?
#3 - The only nicer restaurant in the hotel keeps incredibly weird operating hours and unfortunately, if it's 9:00 p.m. and you're hungry, you're out of luck at the Aquarius. Of course, you can go to the Subway in the lobby but forget having a nice dinner with a bottle of wine.
#4 - The smoke in the casino is really horrendous and unfortunately, you aren't able to get to the elevators to your room or access any of the hotel services without having to walk through the entire casino and smell like an ashtray when you arrive at the opposite end. Seriously, enough with the second hand smoke!
#5 - if you're here to gamble, their slots are extremely tight - you'd be better off going over to Tropicana Express for gambling.

So even though items 2-5 are what you expect when staying in Laughlin (at any hotel) the first item is really the deal breaker for me and why I'm giving this only a 1 star rating. Seriously, my back is still killing me!

I went on a last minute trip with family over the weekend and stayed here, It was OK, very nice looking but every one there was from the senior center. Nice employees. Went to the pool and it was all children. found a small bar by the pool and had me a nice ol' mixed drink From a lady who looked as if she was staying at the hotel. strong drink had me rolling as soon as the monsoon hit. Over all it was a nice family place where mom and dad can take the kiddos and and dad can hit the casino late night.
They did have a club on Saturday but it looked pretty dead.

Wasn't expecting such nice accommodations when booking the night before leaving on  a long weekend for $90/night. Flat screen TV, nice beds with modern pillows/comforters you find at nicer hotels, view of the river.

Staff was super friendly. Bellhops were very prompt.  Only complaint is that they don't have 24 hour room service. BUT the guy at the front desk did come up and heat up our leftovers at 4:00am, which adds to the good service.

Pit bosses aren't anal like they are in Vegas. We're pretty obnoxious when we gamble and get super loud at the craps tables.  They only had to ask us once in a super polite way not to hold our drinks over the table, but let us continue with our shenanigans.

Would definitely consider staying here again.

I may have to try a room there or give it another chance since my friend and mom said how they loved it there but the drink ladys are non-existant, I kept asking other personnel where the drinks were at and they said that I probably just missed one (though I was at the same game for 20 + minutes).  When they finally came I asked for 2 beers and was refused as they only serve one drink at a time.  Fine give me one.  When she came back (another 10 minutes) I ordered another one immediately but that took another 20+ minutes and I took it to go....  Went back that night and in 1/2 hour we were NEVER offered a drink.  so if you bring your own beverages - yes, I very nice clean casino.  If you're a fish and you want to dull the pain of throwing your money away GO ELSEWHERE!

After reading many hotel reviews on various travel sites I wanted to avoid Laughlin  altogether but our road trip made this location an ideal resting point for the night.

I have to say that I was very impressed and completely happy with my choice to stay at the Aquarius.  Upon arriving we were greeted by efficient and friendly bell hops.  While my husband unloaded the car with their help I checked us in.  Virtually no wait and the front desk personnel wore smiles, were courteous and made sure to verify our special room requirements of a non smoking king room with a view.  The room was more than i expected!  It actually looked like the room pictured on their web site.  Very clean and modern with a great view and i did not smell one bit of smoke while in our room.

The hotel offered options for dinner.  We opted for Outback which had the typical fare with good service and quality food.

We didn't do much gambling so I can't comment much on this but I will say that they didn't have enough Wheel of Fortune slots. . . Else I might have gambled.  Casino is smokey but that's what you get anywhere outside of Vegas.

We used the fitness center the next morning which was more than adequate.  We had breakfast at the Subway which was quick and relatively healthy.  We tried to eat at the cafe but the service was extremely slow... Likely due to it being a holiday weekend.

All in all I would highly recommend this property for excellent service and clean and comfortable rooms.

This was our first time staying at Aquarius. I remember when this used to be the old Flamingo - this hotel/casino has definitely improved. I really liked that they have an adult tower so if you want to get your drink on you don't have to feel strange or deal with kids running around. I also appreciate that they have an entire nonsmoking floor. This really makes a difference after a long day and night of gambling in a smokey casino. The room was fairly modern with a comfy bed and a good sized flat screen TV. The only down size was the bathroom was small and the shower felt a little bit like a dark cave.

If they offer it, I would do the river view room upgrade. It was only an extra $10 a night and the window is floor to ceiling with a really pretty view of the river. Even better was at night you could see the casino lights reflecting on the river.

Overall, I think this in one of the better places to stay in Laughlin because its been updated, the staff is friendly, and it has decent amenities.

Where to start?  Okay, gray & silver hair, more walkers, canes, and oxygen tanks then you can shake an AARP card at tells you that this casino, like the other casinos in town, if not this whole town itself, tells you that it's a favorite of the retirement set, and is by far, more relaxed and peaceful than the party zone of Las Vegas.  And along with, comes lower prices for rooms, buffets and other things, because let's face it, this town's basically in a gulley in the desert and needs some extra incentive.

But on to the hotel and, I'll admit at first, many of my fellow Yelpers & those on Las http://Vegas.com/Vegas... were making this place out to be dismal and dusty and somewhere you don't want to stay.   I say nonsense, 'cause the Aquarius rocks!   The hotel staff here was nothing but friendly, the slots aren't all cramped together so you are tripping or squeezing between people.  The view from our room of the Colorado was terrific (and my pictures just didn't do it the justice it deserves), the room and bathroom were clean and our bed was quite comfortable.  In addition, Sharon A, a casino host, dropped off a basket of crackers, cheese, jerky and water that was an unexpected by greatly appreciated surprise!  What a way to be introduced to Aquarius, let alone Laughlin!

Given our experience here, it's only a matter of time before we come here again to have another great experience.

Awesome awesome hotel. Seriously, there is absolutely nothing I can complain about here. Finding the place is easy, parking is easy, has reasonably priced tables if you're into gambling.  It's  the place I would recommend you stay if you want comfort, cleanliness, and is situated in a good location.

Sunday arrival about 2:30 PM for just one night.
We've stayed in Laughlin three times within the last 12 months; at the Golden Nugget, at the Tropicana Express and now here.  This hotel, IMHO, is the best choice.  The rooms are larger, and in the California Tower where we were put, appeared to be much cleaner and with "newer" looking furnishings.  Our rate for the regular two-queen room was $34.99.  Flat screen LCD TV and in-room coffee making.  The Arizona Tower [billed as "The Adult-Only Tower"] is closed and being refurbished; scheduled to re-open by Christmas.

Great hotel.  Modern, rooms are all well furnished, tea/coffee included.  LCD TV, great view of the river (paid option) but furthest from the elevator.

    FANTASTIC VALUE FOR MONEY!

right on the river with access to all the other hotels on the river.

Probably the best buffet in town.

Staff friendly, quick check in (even on a friday)

    Starbucks in house!

Seriously, there is absolutely nothing I can complain about here. Finding the place is easy, parking is easy, check-in is fast and easy, rooms are very inexpensive, elevators are quick, rooms are clean and spacious and have nice floor-to-ceiling windows with river views. The casino is clean and fun. I absolutely would come back again.

Not a bad spot for the price. Fantastic people watching, especially if you get a kick out of drunk octogenarians. Bonus: totally slept way past check-out time and they didn't mind.

This Casino, by far is the best in Laughlin. Open and very spacious. Newer machines. They have a food court, a Panda Express, Outback, and of course your cafe, and buffet. The cafe being open 24hrs.
The place is very clean, service is pretty good, and i heard the rooms are nice.
This used to be the Flamingo Casino, but was taken over by some other company, hence now, Aquarius.

I feel like I have more complaints about this place than positive things to say which is a real bummer.
Valet was great, they were completely over staffed to the point that two guys opened my door and two guys took the keys from the boyfriend.
Check in had no line and the rudest front desk lady I've ever dealt with. Every time we asked her a question she just said "yea yea yea" completely dismissing us, whether that was even a valid response to the question or not.
The room was clean and well taken care of but had a few disappointments. We opted to splurge for the river view room and it had a floor to ceiling window with a 90% view of the parking lot and 10% view of the river. It was considered a smoking room but had absolutely no ventilation, not even in the bathroom.
There customer service really needs to be checked out because we called and asked if they had a better room available and that we would even be willing to pay and they had no sense of urgency to help us. I kept thinking how it would be if I was rude and demanded something free if it would be any different.
Overall compared to the other hotels there's I do think that this may have been one of the nicest hotels there but overall we might have had a better stay somewhere else because of the customer service.

We drove out to laughlin this morning to spend the day and get out of Vegas.  We stop in the Aquarius for the Sunday brunch.  It's a small set up, with limited selections, not much available.  Not what we're use too, but for the price, it was good.  The casino is crowded and everyone is checking out, so the front of the hotel is busy.  This might be a place to get away too, spend the night with a view of the river, might need to keep this place on the stay-cation list.

    It's about time!!!!!

As a native so cal girl (and a granddaughter with a 90 year old granny who loves keno)... I've frequented Laughlin many times! Each time I don't look forward to what I'll be sleeping on and where I'll be showering because Laughlin hovers around 2 stars at best for their accommodations. BUT... NOT ANYMORE!

I found the Aquarius while planning a cross country road trip... I thought it would be fun to "start out" having a little fun on the craps table and enjoy free drinks (I don't know why we actually all think they're free... those crappy white russians and never get them spicy enough bloody mary's cost me hundreds, generally). Figuring it must be new... I ventured over to their website and low and behold... down blankets (NOT HORRIBLY UGLY PAISLEY PRINT CIRCA 1975) and modern decor... score!!

American Casino's & Entertainment purchase the former Flamingo in 2006 for $170 million and renamed the hotel The Aquarius. They completely overhauled the 1,907 rooms as well as the 57,000 sq ft casino and it shows! It's very "Laughlin Upscale". The Wynn, it is not, but for a pretty cheap town on the banks of the Colorado, it's as good as it gets.

We paid $44.95 for a Friday night stay and that included 2-1 drink coupon, 2 coffee's & 2 pastries at the on-property Starbucks and a King Riverview room (though the view was great... it was mainly parking lot with peek-a-boo river views... but we weren't their for the "view"). The value, is great.

The gambling, however, wasn't the Laughlin cheap I had grown accustomed to. $5, but mostly $10 minimums and that's just too high for Laughlin. We strolled down the Riverwalk to the nearby Edgewater and found a $2 craps table (more our speed) and played a very lively game with some Marines. Good times.

Laughlin has finally come into the 21st century with their hotel rooms... I just hope they don't lose that cheap, we can't afford to go to Vegas, don't care if you're sunburned from the river, fanny pack wearing, tacky but it's ok because it's Laughlin vibe they're known for :)

*EDIT* 03/05/2012 - FOUND THE ARCADE ON THE POOL LEVEL - *END EDIT*

I'll be honest with you, the main reason that I stay at the Aquarius is that I get a free room for a night once every few months.

I enjoy the drive out there, of course less traffic, and the drivers for the most part are very courteous and move out of the way if you're moving faster than them.

This isn't a review about the drive, it's a review about the hotel.

The counter staff (Concierge?) is very friendly, and greet you with a smile. The casino staff is very friendly also, though I rarely see them, but I think that's because I tend to stare at the machines or the table more often. A lot of tables are five dollar minimums, and the dealers are very friendly and talkative.

Of course, being Laughlin, the general population is somewhere around their late 40's and above. It's very easy to strike up a random conversation, even if you're minding your own business. Of the many machines I sat at, a conversation was randomly started with me two out of three machines.

The rooms are pretty nice, though I think the bathrooms are a little small. They had a nice sized flat screen TV in our room, though we had to mess around with the remote a bit in order to get it to work. One thing that drives me nuts is that there's very weak water pressure in the showerheads. I like a strong stream to wash me down from all of the walking around. They did leave plenty of towels in the room, so that was very handy.

I haven't tried the room service, maybe the next time I'm there I will. It's kind of hard to do though, with the buffet that they have downstairs, and a pretty decent selection of restaurants.

The dinner buffet is pretty good, usually since I arrive there on Saturdays, the prime rib and crab leg menu is out in full force. I'm generally not a crab leg type of person, but I decided to jump for it this time around. You do have to ask the servers for a shell cracker, as they do not leave any out. I was under the impression that the little plastic doohickeys they gave us was not going to turn out good, but holy moly, it was much better than the little pincer shell crackers.

I wasn't a big fan of the margaritas that are included with the buffet, and it would be awesome if they had Dos Equis on tap, but dreamers can dream.

I do prefer their brunch buffet over their dinner buffet. The eggs benedict are absolutely delicious, and the scalloped potatoes had me hooked.

The servers at the buffet are very kind and generous, although they are busy and come by every so often. They try their best to keep you happy.

Again and again I say that the next time I go, I'll look forward to trying out the other casino's buffets and restaurants....but holy cow....this is too hard to resist.

One of the biggest downsides to this casino is that there isn't much for kids to do other than stay in the room or go to the pool. The "arcade" that I thought was very big from a distance turned out to be nothing more than a few crane machines, and unless you're a pro, you're going to walk away a loser.

I forget what the age group is for the buffet to be considered an adult, but it's very low. We all know that kids don't eat as much, but that didn't discourage them from charging full price.

Compared to the other casinos, this one had the best atmosphere, it is very clean, and is not so rowdy, for those of you who prefer a more calmer crowd.

    Aquarius Casino Resort Review

So we finally drove in all the way from San Jose, CA. Friday 8:30pm... We got valet, and the bell man hauling our luggage was really nice and informative on shops/restaurants in the casino... When we got up to the room, he even went in, turned on the lights for us, and opened the windows to show us what our view was. I'm def giving this place a higher review because of him :)

Our room was pretty nice. It was clean, and although we got a "smoking" room, it didn't wreak of stale cigarettes. The furniture is nice, and pretty up to date... King sized bed, coffee table for 2, and a decent sized LG flat screen TV. LOVED our view.... We could see the strip of casinos, the shopping mall across the street, and of course, the Colorado River! The window is from floor to ceiling, taking up one entire wall, and some of the other wall at the corner. So if you're looking for all of those to be viewable from your room; 15th floor, adult tower, room 15069 (this is a smoking room).

Onto the downside... If you're expecting free wifi, I'm bursting your bubble here. If you're expecting a mini fridge, sorry. If you're expecting a valuables safe, nope... $11.99 for 24 hour wifi. $10 for them to bring a fridge to you. No option to add a safe to your room. Yeah, we had to pay $21.99 to get wifi and fridge (important for us, but may not be for you). And really? No safe? Even motels offer a safe.... What did they think we were gonna do with all of our gambling cash? Carry it on us at all times? Shove it in my BFs shoes? OK fine, shoe it is.... Oh, but you do get free wifi downstairs at Starbucks. Because I must mention... The wifi you pay for in the room, is probably slower than the dial up we all remember.

Room service is pricey for all the food on the menu... But that is pretty common with all resort/hotels room service menu... The itch I have with this particular one is they offer appetizer packages. The smallest package is called the Pisces Package, for about $26.., 3 egg rolls, 3 chicken fingers, 3 potato skins, and 5 chocolate truffles.... But they will tell you, "sorry, all appetizer packages must be ordered 24 hour in advance"... Are you serious? Have you read what comes in this package? I mean, do you special order the chocolate truffles from Europe to ship overnight or something? Whatever. We picked up Panda Express from downstairs and brought it back to the room.

The casino is nice. A bit smokey (even in the non smoking sections) but tolerable. Slots were hit or miss as usual. $5 ante for three card poker with all the dealers being super friendly, funny, and personable.

To sum it up - I'd stay here again if I ever stroll through Laughlin again... Or if they offer the room comp :)

    This hotel was garbage.

The power and water went out in the hotel two separate nights during my stay, no microwave or refrigerator.

Even the Starbucks is under the penny pinching iron grip of the casino. Typically you can bring in your own cup, you know, go green and they give you a little discount on your coffee. Here, they actually charge you for it!

If you can suffer through the looming cigarette smoke to even make it to the check in counter, then you're pretty brave.

This appeared to be one of the nicest two hotels in Laughlin (Harrahs) so I stayed there, it is the second closest to the bridge on the river side. Close to most casinos, except Harrahs, so you really don't need to drive around this town. No resort fee, good. Front desk clerk early pm Thu (12/29), Asian woman (?) barely said a word, nice welcome to Aquarius (not).  Room, 11th floor Cal tower, facing river only had partial view of river and in AM the sun would be right in your eyes if you opened window, but it was very nice and bed comfortable.  About 25 TV channels including NFL, and in-room checkout (very convenient).    Food choices left much to be desired (buffet, Panda Express, high end restaurant, Subway) and only Subway was open at night (no thanks, walked to In-N-Out).  Casino is as big as most in Laughlin, but few table games were open at Night and slots/poker machines were tight.  Also would have liked to have security at elevators checking for room keys like at most Vegas and Reno/Tahoe tower hotels, is Aquarius waiting for a guest(s) to be killed by an interloper before this happens?  Got players card at AZ Charlies in Vegas which is also good at Aquarius, and since I got home I got coupons for free night stay.  It won't do me good because I don't plan to go back to Laughlin for quite a while.
