Review from Jeff S.
Honestly it doesn't matter where you get your scrips if you have insurance. I chose Apthorp because it was close. They did a good job on my orders, except it sometimes takes a long, long time (compared to CVS) to get something filled, especially when they are busy. My doc called in something, and 3 hours later it still wasn't ready. What the hell...put...pills...in...the...bottle. Done.
On the bright side, when you have to wait there like a tool, you can browse all the imported, high end soaps, fragrances and bath salts and pretend you are a fancy English aristocrat from 1829. That part is really sensational.
I should also point out that they offer a very reliable delivery service which is quite handy if you don't need your stuff right away. And they also offered me access to a discount plan which I had no idea existed prior to using them. Customer service was pretty solid in fact.
All in all, a good experience. -

Had a terrible experience, left my insurance card with pharmacist to fill a prescription, they lost the card, charged me for medication even though I have insurance, never called back to discuss problem, if you can avoid this place, do so!

I can't get why this pharmacy makes me wait for a prescription to be filled 3-4 times more than any other location in the UWS. And the customer service is not the friendliest.

I love this pharmacy. Amazingly personable and caring service like a small town but with the plethora of options only a big city can offer.
Everyone is super-efficient yet kind. and they know what they are doing.
The pharmacists are outstanding - they patiently and knowledgeably answer any questions I have even regarding cost and billing. Their tech assistant, Sharif, in particularly is exceptional.
The delivery option is wonderful. When I ran out of a medication just when I supposed to take it and of course 2 minutes before the pharmacy was to close, the pharmacist working that day (thanks Bill!) made sure I got the refill delivered in time.
As a physician myself, I've found quality pharmacies such as this one in the city are quite rare. I would highly recommend Apthorp to any of my friends and patients. -

They have a good selection of cosmetics. I've never used the pharmacy but it's a great set up. Pharmacy one side, the other higher end cosmetics n hair products.
the counter person is also very helpful, patient, friendly. and trust me, she really was because i was really cold, kinda hungry, and cramming last minute shopping while fighting a horrible cold. she even wrapped the face cream i bought very nicely :) -

They have quality cosmetics here, everything from Shiseido face wash to Dior lip gloss. The extensive collection of Essie nail polish is conveniently located right next to the overpriced shampoos, which, as you guessed, are imported from Italy and Switzerland. I like my Terax shampoo, but not at $20 a pop! That said, if I could afford to drop off my prescriptions here and buy $30 organic hand lotion without guilt, I would definitely make this a regular place.

I order compounded prescriptions for my canine and feline patients here and I'm always very pleased with their service. The pharmacist(s) are very knowledgeable about the science of compounding - he'll actually tell me when things aren't stable when mixed or compounded rather than just making up any old thing I can dream up. They always follow up on phone messages, call back when they can't reach clients, etc.

High priced much ado about nothing. Sour staff who are doing you a favor. Go to Duane Reade. At least they are not pretentious.

What do you do when a pharmacy loses your prescription twice, and then patronizingly lies to your face saying that your doctor never called it in? Transfer your prescription to another ( tomorrow AM), and warn people you know about the place.
So folks, you've been warned. This is what goes on at Apthorp Pharmacy. -

I ordered fertility medication there that I was required to have the same day. I called at 2PM and they guaranteed delivery. At 8:45 PM my delivery did not arrive. I called and they assured me the delivery person left 1/2 hour ago and it would be there in moments. Medication never arrived. This is unforgivable. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS STORE.

If you need fertility meds, this is the place. They deliver ($40) to Brooklyn. But they are meticulous, and by sheer volume must have the "freshest" stock.

Terrible delivery service. First time I ordered it did not arrive until after 9pm. Second time I ordered I called it in at 5:30pm and put a rush on it as it was critical I take the medication by a certain time. By 10:20 pm that night no delivery and no phone call and not way to get my medication. Which when you are pregnant is critical to take on time. They know that all fertility meds are time senstive and I told the guy on the phone I had to have it right away. I hope nothing bad happens for missing medication for that night. I will NEVER use them again.
