"Brazilian pizza??? What? They do that? YES. It's quite good, and several things put it into the 5 star range for me: - pao de quejo (they…" read more »
Very good pizza made fresh. It takes a while but it's worth it. Inhouse eating is pretty basic - very quiet for a pizza place. I think most people take it to go.
Went here after Farmer's on Thursday and it was pretty good. A little pricey though. We had a large 1/2 steak something 1/2 margherita. It was super hot when it came out and tons of cheese! And the slices were a little awkwardly cut so imagine us fighting over who gets what piece haha! :)
We ate outside and enjoyed the people watching and breeze. Inside was super hot and I can't even imagine how bad i would be in the real summer months.
I went here for the first time today for lunch. They have great lunch specials (7" personal pizza, soda and a salad for only $7!). And the best crust I've ever tasted in my life. The friend I went with compared it to a soft pretzel, which is definitely accurate! They have a good list of pizza-topping-combos to choose from, and you could always choose your own. The staff was also friendly and efficient! My only complaint is the moisture of the pizza in the middle. Seems like maybe the dough is too thin there.
I'd definitely eat here again!
Solid 3 stars.
The crust had good flavor and the part around the edge was good, crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, but the portion under the toppings was lost. It needed to be a little thicker or something.
I got my favorite garlic & spinach in the lunch special. With tax just over $6! That's a Los Altos deal and a half! The toppings were of good quality and the flavor was good, but they were concentrated in the middle of the pie.
All in all I have to say the best pizza in Los Altos. Now, Los Altos is not the pizza capitol of the world so that's not saying much, but this will easily become my go-to place for pizza near work. Near home, I'll drive the other direction to Nizario's!
Thank you Applewood pizza for redeeming that which passes for pizza in our small downtown!

Just an OK pizza. Crust is a bit on the thick side and a bit greasy. Sauce is a little too thick for my taste too. They piled on the ingredients (on our hungarian sausage special) which was nice, but the flavors didn't seem to balance well with all the sauce and cheese. It might be better to just stick with a basic pepperoni or cheese pizza here.
On the upside, the salads were generous and fresh despite being pre-made and in a cooler.
We ordered our pizza for pick-up and probably won't be back. Amici's in Mountain View is about the same distance from us and twice as good!
Thin crust a lot of cheese and decent amount of toppings. I love the sweet sauce, but it is usually under cooked. Very small place that can get really busy after 6pm.
not much of a pizza fan to begin with... so i had their greek salad which was decent and quite plentiful with a huge bed of lettuce and spinach... i was pretty much just interested in the olives and feta cheese of the salad...
the SO and son had the steak pizza... fresh toppings... pizza was ok, but got really soggy after a while...
wouldn't come back here again.... only came here by default... we wanted to go to chris's fish and chips but it was closed...
however, there were a lot of orders to go... so who knows...
I got a Lunch Special... Italian Sausage, Linguica, Pepperoni personal pizza with Soda for $5.95+tx.
It was good. Good amounts of topping and bready, just how I like it. It's not as thin as NY Style since it's breadier, worth it if you're a crusty.

I've been here twice. The first time I had a combo which was pretty decent. The second time I had the steak pizza which was not so good.
Pizza here was good, but I still prefer my local pizza joint ---MALDONADO's on the corner of Latham and Rengstorff. I have to say the lunch special 7" personal pizza with any 3 toppings + a drink for $5.95 was a very good deal. I couldn't even really finish my 7".
Not a bad pie. Definitely better than any chain on the peninsula. Family atmosphere and they had the game on. Great spinach salad too (not my choice but happy I ate it). They could make the beer a little less expensive but maybe they don't want this becoming a "hangout".
Oh, and the Applewood's 2-go across the way is NOT THE SAME. Seriously, you've been warned. I don't understand it either but markedly inferior.
Just be really nice on the phone or when you walk in and get your Pizza from the restaurant on the corner.
Classically great pizza. Not deep dish, not thin crust ... right in between. The atmosphere is not great (more like an old sports bar), but whatever, good pizza is good pizza. Just a hop, skip, and a jump away from Stanford, so great for students.
First I am a pizza snob. With that said, Applewoods is an okay pizza. Coming from the East coast, I look with a weary eye when a pizza comes out of the oven and they brush butter on the crust. It does make it tasty, but pizza crust should be able to stand on its owne without butter being added at the end. (Come to think of it adding butter or even bacon grease to most recipes makes it taste better). There selection of pizza is good with a balance of gourment and standard issue toppings. Salads are fresh. Service is good; however Friday & Saturday nights can get busy.
Applewoods is the best pizza in Los Altos but Los Altos is pretty small. If this place was in San Jose, it would be the best pizza down here. I love this place but only 3 stars because I know somewhere there is much better pizza. My brother got a pizza in Oakland/Piedmont area that killed Applewood but I forgot the name of the place sorry.
