I would not recommend ordering food at this place. That having been said, one of my fondest memories occurred here. I met with 2 friends after work and we had a great time. Maybe it was the alcohol consumed that made it great-no, actually it was the company. Funny thing is, we had long island iced teas, which I never order, but still I had a good time.
In all of Applebee's history, I've only been there 3 times. Once in Irving when they first opened many years ago. Had the hamburger. I remember, because I was really impressed with it. Don't know why it took 10+ yrs to make my next visit at the Colleyville location; but over the years, the burger lost it's - whatever it had to begin with.
Then a couple of weeks ago, I went to the Lewisville location, but chose Applebees as my destination ONLY due to a benefit for the Komen 3-Day. I ordered the fr onion soup and shrimp/spinach salad. Oh my God...... it was just plain bad beyond words. I sent the soup back and the salad would have been right along side, but I was starving and HAD to eat something! So with the crappy-ass shrimp being totally inedible, I picked around at the spinach. It came with NO bread or crackers. I had to order an "order" of garlic toast which consisted of ONE, count it, ONE slice of stale french bread, with not a hint of garlic.
Just an overall terrible experience...... But Komen received 15% of the check, so I suppose I can chalk it up to a worthy cause.
