If you walk into the Apple Store at Ala Moana on any day of the week, you'll ask yourself "God, does anyone work anymore?!" This place is always packed with people playing on Mac computers, iphones, etc. Oh the lure of free internet!!! The staff is really helpful here and I love that everyone can run your credit card with their mobile wireless terminals. No visit to the counter required!

If you buy a Mac, make sure you but the $99 a year 1-to-1 service they offer where you can come in to take classes about any program from their educational team. It's so worth the money as long as you make the time to come in. You're spending the money on a Mac so you may as well get the most out of it that you can!

The service here is amazing! The geniuses are just that. That cater to the customer and have even taken care of me when my items were out of warranty. The service is always great and that's what keeps me coming back to Apple. Unlike other companies they really do take care of you and are knowledgeable about their products. It's not about making a sale or anything else; it's about customer happiness. I love it.

Yes, there are tourists; we live in Hawaii. Yes, there are middle schoolers, high schoolers and college kids; it's summertime. Get over it or go shop at http://Apple.com. Great return policy there as well.

One of the smallest Apple stores I've been to. Everytime I go here it's always busy and stupid hot - too many bodies in one small space! I was gasping for some fresh air.

Service wasn't anything out of the ordinary. It takes them forever and a day to find someone to ring you up (since the Apple stores got rid of the cashier stations long, long ago...).

The Royal Hawaiian location is way better!

I must say the employees were nice and helpful, but the service was mediocre. I dropped off my Mac Book for repairs, when I got my computer back, it wasn't even dusted off. They didn't even remove the tape residue from when they stuck their invoice to my computer. My computer wasn't completely repaired, they failed to fix the top case that had broken off at the seams, not only that my computer makes an odd sounds when I wake it up from sleep mode. They also forgot to include my power extension cord. I live on Maui and in order to get my computer back I had to pay shipping, although there are no Apple stores on Maui. Their payment process is lame. I had to scan my ID, front and back of my Credit card, write all my info on an invoice plus the back code of my CC,  and e-mail it back to them. How many people handled my information, I'm not sure, but they sure make it easy for identity theft with the way they go about making a transaction for inter island customers. So now not only do I have to take my computer back to get serviced again, but I have to monitor my credit card to make sure no one is conducting any fraudulent active on my dime.

It's nice now that they renovated it. I wish it was a tad bigger so it would look cool and "spacey" like the one in Kahala Mall.

They generally are always very busy so I would make my Genius Bar appointments online at home the night before or in the morning.

Oh yeah, don't even bother if you want to look at an iPhone or a MacBook, etc. Between the middle schoolers and the Japanese tourists that congregate inside, it's absolute madness. Most of the time, anyway.

Okay so when I'm not eating I'm at my favorite Apple Store checking out the latest programs accessories or just getting schooled. My gf loves it as well but tends to walk out at which at that point I realize it's really time to just go and not spend money. Yes it's expensive. And yes there's almost always a crowd. The Genius desk is very helpful and they get things done as quickly as possible. You can take a class on anything in the store, so make your appointment by phone or internet and have some fun!! Did I mention they have free internet. I usually just walk by and download a new song on my iPhone.

My tool of choice and what I'm using here is my 15in MacBook Pro, it's just smoking. My gf has the same one but I can't say that she copied because she'll be upset and claw me, :-) jk. And yes we both have the iPhones and use them fully. Yes they are the best. It's not like even working on them at all because everything on it is just so much fun. Frickin' Applications are awesome. Geez, we're like up to 3000 texts a month!! gotta go that's her texting me.

Apple does it again. I just picked up a new MacBook Pro and I am impressed. An upgrade in the hardware, and in the operating system. Apple keeps giving me reasons to come back. Windows people have no idea what they are missing out on. However, I can't wait to for Windows 7 to come out. It will give me more reasons to shake my head at Microsoft and make me glad that I have a Mac.

One star off for the price. Come on Apple, throw us a discount.

I've had a Mac before and it ultimately converted me to a diehard PC user. However, I don't know what I'd do without my iPod. Love it, love it. It has saved me from countless hours of boredom, especially waiting at airports.

I really enjoy coming to the Apple store to browse their latest gadgets. I was almost tempted to buy the iPhone, but was dissuaded by some of the negative reviews of the first model and their price. But now that the phone has been improved and the costs only $199...I just may purchase one.

I brought my iPhone in to redeem the $100 rebate credit.  The sales gal helping me took out her scanner device and started using a stylus on it.  If you can recall, Steve Jobs mentioned how uncool stylus' were when he first introduced the iPhone.  So I said to the salesgirl, "I though stylus' were taboo in this place."  She whispered to me, "I'll tell you a secret, this scanner and every computer we use to run this store is Windows based."

Hahahaha.  I do like Macs.  But for every apple product I own, I have three Windows based products.

The store is nice and clean. I like how you can just go in and play with their gadgets. I ended up buying my laptop and iTouch through the internet though.

I only thing bad about this place is that some of the people don't want to help you. And some of the people that work there have major B.O.

LoL.

Here on vacation, I didn't want to miss out on my weekly lesson (52 lessons in 52 weeks). The store didn't have an Apple banner waving proudly out in front. I found it easily anyway.

Wish I could have just as easily found my movies that were accidently deleted from my laptop during this lesson. The instructor started out with a bang, he was teaching me about my trashcan. I could move the trash into a dumpster? Whoosh, suddenly all my movies were gone in a click.

Thankfully, one of my other instructors back @ the Beverly Center store, had me save my videotapes. Another one in the Santa Monica store suggested wisely that I purchase an external hard drive & back them up. What a close one. Lesson to all, have multiple back ups!

Addendum: 2nd lesson here by Brady, an excellent teacher, has his own photography business on the side. He gave me some valuable pointers.

fakkas. i dropped my comp. off and it came back fixed but my screen was scratched.  I sent a complaint to http://apple.com and received a call from the manager, I've been calling him back ever since and they never return my calls always saying, "he's busy can you give me a number he can contact you at?"  I've over it. I'll just deal with the damn scratch.

Everytime I go to any Apple store, everyone is on MySpace.

When the iphones came out, everyone was on MySpace on the iphone.

When I finally got around to trying out their computers, I went on MySpace.

What is it with these Macs???

I had a minor bad luck with my Ipod. The scroll button refused to display the menu but I could still play and listen to the songs, just unable to go back and choose other playlists and etc. I'm freaking out because I can't afford to buy a new one just yet. So I walk my butt with my little blue baby to the nearest Apple store at Ala Moana, met with a "genius" and he fixed it! Woo-hoo! Total happiness!

I want me a MacBook, pretty please?

PC's RULE and I don't have anything negative to say about Apple Stores in general. I do dig the store's layout though for what it's worth. I think iMacs are nothing more than really expensive multimedia machines. I know, I know now all you Apple people hate me. Sorrrrrrrrrry huh? =P

This was my source of a computer when I was here for vacation. I think the staff understands that this is a spot for tourists to check their mail so they don't bother you..

I overheard a salesman say to the person next to me.. "Oooh.. Myspace, eh?"

I had went in expecting to buy nothing until my wife surprised me with a $2500 "gift" card for a wedding present.
After 15 minutes of denial, she grabbed an Apple employee to help me with my decisions and excitement that I could get whatever I wanted.
I don't remember the salesman's name, but he was extremely helpful with my decisions, helped me with the budget I had and recommending what I should get for what I do.
I'm from the Bay Area in California, the Apple Store here in Emeryville is shit compared to the one in Honolulu.

Store wise it is ok. I'm talking about the phone. The worst thing about the iPhone is battery. And the stupidest thing I heard apple people tell me is to turn the 3g off to conserve battery. What???? Why don't you guys make a better battery??? iPhone would of been alMost perfect but all the battery bs ruined it for me. Don't gets wrong the phone is a great idea but I don't need stupid techies telling me the only way to save battery life is turn off 3g and all the other bs. To me, that's all excuses. Apple always sucked on their batteries both phone and laptops.

I've used Macs from the Macintosh SE to my current Macbook and have had various forms of Ipods since the second generation model.  However, I'm not a big fan of the mall version of the Apple Store, to include the Ala Moana location.  The space feels incredibly small for how many people are crammed into it, which makes it hard to browse or just play around with whatever is the new hotness.  I guess I've been spoiled by having visited some of their flagship stores in Chicago and SF.  That being said, any Apple Store is still a good way to get what you need, despite other places emerging as authorized retailers.
