Its near my house, near a bar and near a bank. Need I say more?
The service is friendly and quick. The food in typical for a B&G, but actually quite good.
A great heavy meal is always a must for a night of binge drinking.

Here are three things you will need for a successful night of drinking
1.Something to throw up along with 15 Hefeweizen is always a must.
2.Someone to call whist inebriated (crying optional)
3.Taxi on speed dial.

I would give this restaurant 3 1/2 stars. I'm giving it an extra 1/2 star because of the excellent service provided by the waitress/server named Lisa (Server ID #11). She was the only waitress working at the time and she still made sure she was friendly and efficient with every table.
As for the food...I say it is above average, but not bomb. I ordered the nachos ($10.99) and a mushroom burger ($8.79). The nachos were delicious, but kinda on the pricey side. The mushroom burger was juicy, but equivalent in taste to a burger served at Red Robin.
I will definitely eat at this restaurant again and next time will order something besides a burger...maybe I'll try their breakfast or chicken fried steak. I will also try something on their dessert menu. It was my first time here, so I will update my review on my next trip.
I would recommend this restaurant...but, good luck finding it...you cannot see this restaurant from the street.

I was really unsure about this place when my boyfriend and I decided to try to out. It's tucked BEHIND Safeway, next to the entrance of the QFC. I got the bleu cheese burger with out the bacon. I never order burgers but this one sounded so good, and it was! The patty was cooked perfectly and the bleu cheese was rich and soft, yum! Our fries were soggy which was sad because they looked like they had a lot of potential.

The decor reminded me of an old Dennys or IHOP. The place was dead too. Maybe because it was a Monday but we were there for an hour and we were the only ones there.

My boyfriend and I walked out of there with the $17 bill so all was good on the money front!

Ummmm...  Yum.  That is what I have to say about the Apogee.  This place isn't going to win any awards in the decor area - but they just might win a french fry award.

The menu is expansive and offers burgers, pizza, salads (you know that there is iceberg lettuce in this hizzouse), steaks, and even seafood.  One of the big favorites is a HUGE slice of homemade chocolate cake - it looks a lot like the Motherload at Claim Jumpers.

The attached Pub offers what you would imagine - pulltabs, faded carpet, dim lighting, and lots of customers that have been regulars since the Carter Administration.

The food is delicious.  The service is spotty.  Its a great place hidden in Fairwood.

This place in definitely not for the gluten free eater but after going with my girlfriends it is now going to be my local watering hole. The interior is a lot like the Flintstones house and clearly hasn't been updated in the last 30 years, no worries thats just the way I like a good dive bar.
I was really impressed with the friendliness and courtesy of the bartenders that I've met so far and was told they make most of their foods from scratch. I couldn't resist eating some of the really tasty deep fried Mushrooms that they beer batter daily.
There is also a diner next door (same place) for the family crowd that I will be back to try soon.  Hopefully they have a few good gluten free things on the menu, because I'll be sad if I can't eat here.

When we moved to the Fairwood area a decade ago, we made the rounds of the local watering holes to see if a favorite emerged. From the first visit, the Apogee has been the winner.

Sure, I am within stumbling distance, but then again, a dozen other places are only a $5 cab ride away. It isn't about the beer, although they carry a couple dozen on tap and a dozen more in the bottle. (This is an important point in our personal scoring, as my husband likes Bud Lite, and I like beer you can't see through.) With all that selection, and a full bar besides, we were happy with the libations immediately. They had dart boards, a pool table, a Golden Tee machine and multiple big screens. They advertised sports specials and the decor ran to pro jerseys and giant stuffed fish. We smiled. We had found our spot.

Then the food arrived! Wowzer! For a bar, this place is serious about the food. Homemade soups, hand cut fries and beer battered fish and chips with the greatest tartar sauce ever.... come early on Wednesday, or miss it when they sell out. The pizzas are piled high and require a fork. The 'broasted' chicken is crisp and scortchingly hot when it arrives at your table, but tender, juicy and delicious inside. The French Dip and BLT are the best I've had, and the egg salad on egg bread was a big favorite when I was pregnant with my two kids. The salads are basic, but enormous, piled high with goodies and always fresh and crisp.

A few years ago, the pub took over the neighboring space and opened a family restaurant. My son stopped calling it the "Applegee" just this past year, but he still asks for it at every opportunity. My daughter loves the clam strips and fries, and both want the booth in the back, near the single video game - video fishing. It has gone from our closest watering hole as swinging singles, to the place we take our kids for a fun family dinner. What more can you ask for in a neighborhood place?

I'm writing this feeling a little cabin fever, again.  It's FRI & I've been home all day, but this time I'm just feeling sick with a cold I was trying to pretend wasn't creeping 'round the corner.  This is the end of a long week after being snowed-in for most of it, and now I've got to have a cold for the weekend.  Sucks.

I wish I could shake off some of this cabin fever like I did earlier this week.  The way I did it on WED eve was by going to Apogee Pub & Restaurant.  It's tucked in a shopping center, right next to QFC &  behind a Safeway.  Crazy place to be, but I'll take it.  At least it's stumbling distance in case my ass is ever too drunk to drive home.  Always a good plan in case my trusty designated driver/boyfriend is not with me.  Once in, you feel like you're in a lodge-like pub, complete with required dead deer head hung on the wall, with antlers decorated for the latest occasion.

Off the bat, I ordered me a Crown & Coke.  The sweet lady then came to take my order for food, and I got myself a Buffalo Burger (I hardly see this on menus, so I just had to try it here) & then a side of cut-up vegetables.  The meal came w/fries, but you know I'm trying to stay healthy & all that.  Bullshit since I've got my Crown & Coke to wash it all down with, but screw it.  In fact, "I'll have another Crown & Coke, but can you make it more Crown this time than Coke?  Thanks..."

mmmm...  The Buffalo Burger was pretty damn good.  Good thing they have their own family-style restaurant right next door because it was no problem getting those cut-up veggies.  Time to get the check.

Our sweet server comes w/a plate of brownies!  Now that's some hospitality.  She must like me now.  It took a few visits, but she really really likes me.  I am definitely going to have to come back again & see what she offers me next time.  But not before I have one more drink for the road...  I got myself a hot buttered rum this time.  Not as good as the one I had at Hattie's Hat recently, but still, getting a hot buttered rum at any bar fills me with glee.  Not to mention the big marlin on the wall + a girl playing pool w/her boy while pretending to stroke her stick like it's his stick, and then she pops quarters into the jukebox selecting everything from Elvis to Def Leppard.  This is my kind of joint.

Now I'm a warm & happy lush, and can go home back to my pad to pass out.  Don't ask me how to pronounce the name of this place, because I've been here 3x's now & still don't know.  How lame am I?  OK.  Gotta go guzzle some NyQuil now.  Not as good as a hot buttered rum, but it'll have to do until the next time I'm healthy enough to go back to Apogee.  Apojee?  Uh-POE-gee?  Whatever.  I'll be back soon.

Edit 1/6/07: I've been back recently & the server recommended their deep fried mushrooms.  I love mushrooms, and these guys did a good job without making it too greasy or loaded with batter.

Wow, pizza is fabulous here.

Deep dish or thin crust, they got it.  Have it as take out or eat at Apogee along with a pint of Guiness, you just cannot go wrong.

Oh, Apogee is in two sections.  The original section is a bar while the expanded section is geared toward families.

This place keeps it real.  The sandwiches are the bomb.  They have a ton of meat in them stacked to the ceiling.  Get the HUMMER!!! Woohoo.  Also, the atmosphere is homey and the waitresses are nice.

It's the dive bar by my house, but I'm there for breakfast with my parents, drinks with my girls, or dinner for my friends.  Seriously, anywhere you can go where the regulars have been regulars for 20 years and you don't get murdered for putting European techno and/or Whitney Houston on the jukebox is okay with me :)
