Review from Rachel B.

I just got onto Yelp so who even knows if this Stuart moron is still on here....
I have been a member of this gym since the day they opened. and I consider the owners "good people". Business is family owned and super friendly.
Four pieces of cardio???? Were you drunk when you went in. There are about 5 treadmills, 6 ellipticals, 2 expresso bikes, a few steppers and some other bikes. Plus the Crossfit Octagon, the full circuit and free weights....
I don't get what this idiot is saying about space either, I asked around and it's 6000 square feet.
Charging a larger upfront Initiation Fee - - huh??? there is no enrollment fee at all and there never was one.
I've priced out all the gyms around here and to say that they charge more per month than LA Fitness or Golds is nuts......Working out there costs me about a dollar a day and all I paid for beside my first months due was $15 for the key that gets me in to any Anytime Fitness anywhere. So for a whopping $30 a month I now belong to well over a thousand clubs. If you are to cheap to handle that then you don't belong working out in a gym......it's not a freaking YMCA dumbass.
Like Maci said - trainers are dirt cheap - - 4-5 days a week for an hour each at the most will cost you $150
My kids love the childcare and I pay $2 for my first child and then an additional $1 for my others. Tell me where I can find a babysitter for 2 kids at $3 an hour...
Stuart - - sounds like you have a personal axe to grind..........just saying - - weird!!! -
Review from Maci K.
Hurray! There's a gym in Maricopa that's open literally 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! I actually went here the very first night that I got to Arizona because a friend that my husband and I went to dinner with said he went there and really liked it. So we went and talked to the owner who gave us a tour and kind of explained how everything worked.
It has a pretty large area with weight machines and free weights and everything is spaced out enough that I don't feel like someone is invading my bubble if they get on the machine next to me. All of the machines appear to be fairly new or at least well maintained which is definately something you want to see in equipment that has you lifting hundreds of pounds of metal...
In the next area there is a cardio room that has a bunch of treadmills and elliptical machines and then a couple stairclimbers and bikes. The bikes that they have are really cool because they are more like actual bicycles and they have a screen that makes it look like you're actually on a bike ride and you have to steer, shift gears, etc. It makes it less monotonous than a traditional stationary bike.
In the back of the cardio room there is an area where they do various classes. I haven't tried that yet but they have a white board where they put the different offerings and what day and times they are offered.
Now one of the big things that caught my attention when we were talking to the owner was when he talked about the personal trainers the gym has. $15 an hour for a personal trainer!!! That is practically free compared to the prices they try to charge in other gyms I've been to! I am really excited to actually be able to afford something like that on a regular basis.Listed in: Adventures in Maricopa

Review from Stuart R.
Chandler, AZ
This place is a joke. If someone came in to Maricopa and opened up a gym, this place would go out of business. The lighting is horrible, all of the weight machines are crammed in to a space that some ice cream stores could fit in to and they have 4 cardio machines. They charge a larger upfront, "Initiation fee" and then more each month than LA Fitness or Gold's Gym. The only thing keeping this place in business is that he is the only game in town, and he knows it. The owner is a complete JERK! Trust me, if your willing to drive 20 minutes to a REAL gym, avoid this place, its just not worth the money.

Hello, I am the jerk, I mean owner and looking at Stuart's picture will swear on my life that I have never met him. Oh well, everyone has different experiences in life they deal with in different ways. I wonder why you had such a bad experience if you never even worked out at the gym? I also wonder if it was me you dealt with. To call me a jerk I must have done something to irk you. I can take criticism just fine but did want to clear up just a couple of errors he made. We have no initiation fee at all and haven't had 1 in 4 and a half years. There have been 2 other gyms in Maricopa and we survived just fine. We have 20 cardio pieces including the expresso bikes Maci K. mentioned (Thanks for the review by the way!) and that doesn't include the crossfit equipment. There is zero doubt we are a small to mid-size gym. The lighting, size and my attitude are all opinion so thats cool. just wanted to clear up the other things to make it as accurate as possible. Thanks! Sorry about the stars, didn't want to rate it at all actually...
