I enrolled my Pit/Shepard mix, Joplin, into Basic Pawsability, training/behavioral 7 week class. I had saved Joplin and her 4 sibs who had spent the first 7 months of their life crated and half starved. Joplin never got placed and I decided to keep her(my 4th!,whew!). But man o man , did she need training! This class, taught by Emily, a little dog knowledge filled pistol, was AMAZING!!! With structured classes every week and a good amount of "homework" expected, Joplin thrived!! There is much acceptance at the facility and LOTS of personal attention.  I have learned how to handle her, stop yelling, and love her more than ever! She is a joy in the household and fun to walk. These classes gave her bright mind soo much to wrap around and she graduated last week at the top of her class!!!

I cannot tell you how much this has helped her to settle into the household and quiet down. Joplin LOVED going to class and would literally pull me into the facility(well not after the 5th leash commands class, then she stopped pulling, yaaaay!!)

I am signing Joplin up for the next class, Advanced Pawsibilities  and then on to a 3 week tricks class. taught by Rendi, the owner, that I have seen help and train many desperate shelter dogs, she is awesome!!

We can't wait, yaaay!!! Thank you guys!!

We just finished our first class last night. I've trained previous pets, but this class already stands out. The sizes are small so there is LOTS of private time with the trainer. There are plenty of breaks to let the puppies play and keep them focused when it is time to learn. The location is great and the space is VERY clean. There is even easy parking!!

I can't wait to finish this class and move on the the next one!

Joanna at Anything Is Pawsible was wonderful! Our four month old puppy, Fozzie, successfully completed his inaugural course in basic training. The class perfectly blends socialization (play time) with fundamental training (work time) during each class, both of which really benefit the puppies. Our session included a total of four puppies, which, now looking back, was the ideal enrollment number because it allowed not only for both adequate socialization during play breaks but also ample attention during training. If it were up to Fozzie the classes would have never ended.

After adopting two beagles my wife and I quickly realized that the dogs were not going to be typical rescues.  We have no way of knowing for sure, but it was very obvious that they came from a puppy mill/backyard breeding situation.  After multiple attempts to get help through a number of different channels we finally found Rendy with Anything is Pawsible.

Rendy was absolutely wonderful.  We didn't attend any actual classes, but she came to our home to meet with us and the dogs on two separate occasions.  Her passion and concern for animals was evident right away, and her support and expertise helped guide us through a very difficult time.
We can't thank her enough for everything she did for us and the dogs.

    You rock, Rendy!

Mosby needed some sort of initial socialization with dogs and people, so we decided to go to this place.  I didn't really read the reviews, i had found the place on line and i thought the price was fair...so we decided to go.
Classes are small, which is great..puppies can get very distracted and in Mosby's case he was the most distract AND distracting dog in the group.  Oh well, but we ended up teaching him how to seat, down, wait...and it's basically that.  I believe these classes are more for us, the masters, than for the dogs... we sure learned how to be more strict with Mosby and how to start to training him to what we want.  He still has a long way to go, but he's getting in there.
Classes were fun, the instructor was very nice and friendly, and knew what she was doing. There's free parking on the side street, the facility is not the best, but it is pretty decent.

Rendy is wonderful.  She changed my life literally.  I have a difficult breed- A Shiba Inu- and within a series of  private sessions, my dog is wonderful.  We're still working on stuff- but she fixed the nipping, biting, counter surfing, and whining while we eat.  She really understands dogs and what the respond to.  I have such a better relationship with my dog after my time with Rendy.

We enrolled our 9 month old Golden Retriever in one of Rendy's classes.  We completed the class this week and it was fantastic.  We took our dog to other classes when he was younger (at Humane Society).  Those were good but this was great.  The class size was small and the training so focused that he learned far more than we even expected.  We are likely going to enroll him in even more advanced classes at Anything is Pawsible.

Wow, game changer. I recently moved to the city from Iowa (think big back yard, huge dog park, quite, etc...) and my dog had some understandable anxieties. She now had no back yard, had to ride a box that brings her to floors in which people and other dogs appear, loud trains and cars... you get the point. To be completely honest, it was also me who was nervous and my dog picked up on this. I couldn't bring her to the dog park because she was unpredictable, hard time walking, and a nightmare in the elevator.

I found Anything pawsible on yelp, called and spoke with Rendy and we set up a private meeting with Sydney and I. The first meeting Rendy spent time meeting me and my dog and pretty much spent an hour talking about what's been going on... don't take this for a waste of time, best thing Rendy did was listen and take what she learned and help us.

From the initial session she could see that it was both me and my dog that needed to be trained. Over six sessions and an introduction to a dog daycare, she and I are much more calm and happy. My dog again now loves the dog park, say's hi to other "happy dogs" and knows how to walk away from a fight.

She still pulls a bit, slightly scared of the train (understandable haha), but overall a wonderful dog that everyone loves.

    I cannot recommend Rendy enough!

About 6 months ago, I rescued the most adorable yorkie.  As lovable and cute as she is, she had no training and lacked the basic skill set most dogs have, which includes sit, come, down.  My friend Heidi recommended Rendy, and I am so glad I listened.

Rendy is enthusiastic and truly cares about dogs.  But more importantly, she knows the tips/tricks to enable you to train your dog.  My yorkie learned sit, down, come, stay, wait so quickly!  Also, Rendy was truly rooting for my dog.  Every week we went into class, I really could tell that she was so impressed at our progress.

Emily was our trainer for puppy class. She knew how to motivate every puppy to focus in class so we could work on basic obedience. I feel that this introductory course is the most vital one for any dog.  There were many helpful hints and tips that Emily shared to help calm owners even at the most frustrating of times with their puppies. Our Samoyed, Fiona, will be back for more advanced classes in the future!

Ever owned an airedale terrier? If you haven't, look up how crazy they are as puppies. If you have, you know how cute, but unpredictable they are. Right when I got her, I knew that she would need some kind of puppy school and through word-of-mouth and yelp reviews, decided on going to class with Emily.

    Best decision E-V-E-R!

We took to classes with Emily and the pup is so unbelievably well-trained. Emily did such a great job taking her time with the whole group and staying after to answer personal questions I had.

I have never owner an airedale, but have heard nightmare stories and could see where those people were coming from. With this training, the pup is so good and has not regressed at all!

I brought my then 15-week old cockapoo for her first puppy class to Anything is Pawsible based on the many positive reviews. My dog is a very excited, active, and easily distracted puppy. She barely did any of the commands taught in class. I kept bringing her in mostly for the three 5-minute socialization breaks given with each class. That's what my puppy (and me!) enjoyed the most. On the second to the last class of the course, our trainer, Emily, spent a few minutes more with my puppy one-on-one and tried to work with her and my dog just started doing the commands she'd been taught the past five weeks. By the time we came to our sixth and last class, Emily jokingly said that my puppy could very well get the 'most improved within a week' title. LOL.

My dog and I really enjoyed our classes with Anything is Pawsible. She particularly loved rough playing with Rae, a Yorkiepoo in our class. The facility location is good, plenty of street parking available, spacious area for the classes, cleaning supplies readily available, drinking water always available for the dogs, and their class hours are convenient.

My sophie graduated on saturday from puppy basic class and was 1st in her class ;) She got to pick her toy first, and definitely demolished her doggie cake in 5 seconds. So fun.

We had a wonderful experience here w/Emily, it's a 6 wk program, and our class had 5 puppies (they limit the amount so there's lots of hands on time w/the trainer). Sophie got to socialize w/other puppies her same age, and learned a TON. They had a fun agility class, and we played a 'commands' game on the final day.

I had zero experience training a puppy, and got her in a wk after she came home (9wks). It really helped and she is doing great. She always came home exhausted and had such a good time.

I am already signing up for her next class...with her new friend Tenley from class.

Also, parking is easy and the place is super clean.

If you are looking for an amazing dog trainer-you have to check this place out.

I work for a local dog rescue and was introduced to Rendy during one of the classes she puts on to help dogs learn manners within our adoption group. She has been intregal in not only training New Leash on Life dogs but a huge source of information and training to all of those involved in our rescue. Many of our dogs have been adopted because of the positive training she has done with them beforehand-and in doing so has allowed our adopters to see the potential in every dog.

I was so impressed during the rescue training, I took my own dog there for a small class group. Thanks to Rendy's training techniques and patience, my own rescue dog was able to do a 180 and mature into a well behaved gem indoors. We fully intend to attend some outdoor training with her in the future.

I recommend her to anyone looking into trainers. She is caring, knowledgable and professional in every sense of the word.

Our 4 month old husky/shepherd mix just graduated from the "Puppy Pawsibilities" class that we started when he was 2 months old and it was  a very helpful and informative class for us and the dog.  Having grown up with three dogs I found it to be way more helpful than I ever would have thought it would be.

Joanna was our teacher and she did a great job explaining everything to us and tailoring the training for each puppy.  We will definitely be going back for the other classes.

I cannot thank Emily and Rendy enough for how great they were with my dog.  I recently adopted my pooch a couple of months ago....he was a puppy mill rescue.

I scowered all throughout yelp to find the right people to help me with Mr. Duke.  I was cautious about the techniques used because I wanted something that will help build trust and encouragement without using any type of negative training techniques.  So I came upon Anything is Pawsible and decided to give them a try. I read a review from someone that mentioned that they too had a rescue and what a great job they had done with them.

My story/review has a happy ending.  I started attending the basic class with Duke with little expectations because of his situation and woah....a couple months later....it way over exceeded any expectations I could have had.  Duke did awesome with Emily's instructions!

You definitely get a lot of info during the class but with simple demonstrations and homework (which is so essential) you can't believe how well your dog learns.  Rendy also did a house visit for me since Duke had begun showing agressive behavior towards big dogs and she knew just how to have me work with him.  No scolding....just simply run away.  Sounds crazy, but it works.  It's been a slow process but Duke is finally warming up to his larger furry friends.  :)

Duke started off shy and scared and now he's a happy little show off!    I'll definitely be coming back to take more classes.  :)

We were lucky enough to be pointed to Rendy and Emily after adopting our Pit-mix last November and they are a canine's best friend as well.  We enrolled in the basic class to help our rescue get the hang of things as well as get introduced to the special (not really in our case) handling needs of a pittie.

Emily is a very caring and patient instructor who is completely in love with what she does and it's very apparent once you meet and start obedience with her.  I've owned dogs my whole life and walked away with many a new trick at coaxing our girl to be a better dog.  As for Rendy, well, I never got to meet her but she has returned every phone call I've had regarding some learned behaviorial issues which is a HUGE PLUS and highly professional.

I would not hesitate for a second to return for some advanced training.  Money well spent.

We were really happy with our experience here. Our dog took the puppy class with Emily, who I can't say enough good things about. She provided a fun, positive, realistic and non-judgmental environment. Our pup loved class and we all learned so much in six weeks.

Additionally, classes are very affordably priced. I highly recommend.

As a professional dog walker, I always appreciate walking a dog that has been trained by Rendy. She has met with me and/or my walkers to give specific instruction, reinforcing her training methods for consistency. My clients are always thrilled with her humane and kind demeanor and thats why I continue to refer client to her.

Amazing. The trainers/teachers were so wonderful with our puppy, Dinah. We recently rescued her, and she had some food aggression issues. They gave great tips and information about how to handle the situation, and while we are continuing to work with our dog, she is so much better with food and treats - and in such a short amount of time. She's a totally different dog (in the best possible way). She now knows sit, stay, down and is working on the loose leash walking. And - equally as important - it was good training for me and my husband as well. We are signing up for the next round of classes and can't wait for them to begin!

Rendy did an in-home consult with us on our two Australian Shepherds in late June, 2010.  We had adopted them in January and after a few weeks with us, one of them - Stan - had become very difficult to walk.  He would lunge at other dogs and try to bite.  He also would lunge at joggers and anyone with a bag of any kind.  He pulled on the leash, choking himself in the process.  He bit me in the leg through a pair of jeans when he was frustrated he couldn't get to a nearby jogger.  We were at our wit's end, walking in alleys only at times we hoped to not see other people or dogs.  Even at 14, they are very active dogs and need a lot of exercise, but Stan's behavior issues made it almost impossible to have them outside the house.  We were at the point we weren't sure Stan could continue to stay with us because he was so difficult to control and it seemed only a matter of time before he injured someone, himself, or another dog.  He was sweet in the house, but outside he was just an a**hole.

In 1 hour, Rendy transformed our situation.  She taught us new techniques for walking them, gave us commands to use with them (let's go, wait, watch) outside, and recommended no-pull harness that makes controlling them a lot easier.  Most importantly, she helped show us that Stan is not an aggressive or mean dog, he is a very anxious dog with a high play/chase drive.  This completely changed our relationship with him, because we had become so fearful of what he might be capable of - when he might bite one of us or another person again.  We were able to immediately see results and have confidence handling some of the stressful situations.  While walks aren't nor will they ever be completely stress-free, things are much improved.  Understanding Stan's motivations and triggers helps us anticipate, manage and avoid bad situations.

Since then, Rendy has helped us via email with some new scenarios (how to introduce a visiting dog, how to introduce house/dog sitters).  and her advice has been on-point every time.

    Highly recommended.

I was so happy with Rendy and her puppy class!  (and so was my puppy Berta)  We worked on sitting, laying, walking, jumping, come, and some fun agility at the end.

Class always went by so quickly because we were always doing something.  Rendy always addressed any issues I had and had spare treats just in case Berta was starting to lose interest in the treats I brought.

It is important to do the homework.  Most dog owners know it takes time, repetition, and discipline.  I was so thrilled by the end of the class Berta was able to reach all of the goals we have set.

At the end of class, Berta got a certificate, pupcake, and a toy!

I can't wait to go to our next class!

I have two rescue's from PAWS.  One is a serious jumper - and then her sister likes to follow.  My husband and I wanted to break this habit and the potential loss of our limbs every time a squirrel or bird goes by on our walks.

After just the first class, I learned new techniques that I didn't get in my puppy class (which I went to elsewhere).  Rendy uses a combination of both voice and hand commands - which I love.  One of my girls really gets the voice commands and the other watches the hands!  That was great information for me to discover ( of course Rendy's goal is for them to use both techniques).

I also liked that Rendy explained, then practiced, and watched YOU AND the dog.  B/c obviously - humans need to be trained too!  I didn't realize a few things I was doing - giving bad body language.  I have been practicing with the girls and already see improvement.  I'm really looking forward to learning more.  Rendy is a great trainer!

I would recommend a class here for sure!

We adopted our 6-year-old pup from PAWS and decided we needed a private training session to figure out what our dog actually knows and what he needs to learn. Our dog was SO happy to meet Rendy. He was thrilled to finally meet someone who understood him. We realized he knows a lot more than we had guessed. We have since signed up for Rendy's Basic Plus class, more for the owners than for the dog. Once again, we're learning a lot about how to work with our boy.

The only problem is that our dog was getting everything we were trying to do pretty quickly, so he didn't need any extra attention. He spent much of the first class looking wistfully at the other pups he were getting attention from Rendy. We'll have to make sure we go early next week so that he can get some lovin from his BFF Rendy.

Rendy's training style is reward-based, not punishment-based. Everything is about positive reinforcement of desired behaviors. Think Victoria Stillwell, not Cesar Milan. She IS a dog whisperer, though. She is so good at communicating with dogs and at helping wayward dog owners learn how to communicate with the dogs in our lives. We're a bit in awe. Her training techniques work really well. Her background in dog psychology is pretty obvious and really comes through in her techniques.

I sent this testimonial to Rendy via e-mail a while ago.. but here it is, so that everyone can read it:
Words cannot express how pleased we are with our training experiences with Rendy and Emily. Our eldest dog Nalah joined Rendy's puppy and advanced classes and our new puppy (Ava) took puppy classes with Emily. Almost every time we leave the house for the dog park or the beach we have at least one person comment on how well trained our eldest dog Nalah is. Unlike other owners in dog friendly areas, we have complete control of Nalah. During these times of high distraction she will recall, sit, and stay without a fuss. We are at complete ease walking Nalah off leash, and are proud to say that by the time she turned a year old she could: sit, stay, leave it, drop it, check in, settle, lay down, go to her special spot, stand, shake, touch, heal, wait, and hug on command. After the completion of Nalah's classes every time I had a question or concern about raising/ training Nalah I would e-mail Rendy and receive a very helpful and timely response. We don't know what we would have done without Rendy's guidance throughout Nalah's puppy years; and we look forward to having her around for round two with our newest addition (Ava). Thank you Anything Is Pawsible, we will continue to recommend them to everyone we know!!

Anything is Pawsible is a great dog training class.  Its pretty convinent to get from 90/94.  We took our then 11 wks old German Shepherd to their puppy class based off a co-worker's recommendation.  It was great. The class size is really small only 5-7 tops and the instructor, Emily, was very helpful and patient when we ask our questions.  She was very prompt in emailing any questions that popped into our heads during the week.  The hours are pretty convinent, evenings or Sat mornings.  The class was diverse in the fact our puppy can socialize with pups all different breeds and sizes (2 lb yorkie to 30 lbs boxer pups and of course our pup which got up to 50 lbs by end of class).

My husband and I just completed a Basic Pawsibilities class.  It went very well. Rendy was a great teacher.  We learned to communicate with our dog using both verbal and hand cues. I look forward to taking additional classes with her.  I know my dog will greatly benefit.  He did whine from time to time b/c he wasn't able to "play" with the other dogs.  He is a big baby when it comes to that, but we got him to focus on the tasks at hand thanks to Rendy!  I highly recommend looking into her classes.

We really enjoyed our time with Anything is Pawsible and probably now need to go for a review session.  The only complaint or rather suggestion I would have is that they show you how to train more than tell you about your puppy.  The whole first class is talking about dogs in general and you don't accomplish much.

we brought our puppy to one of the training classes here. i really like their approach... they give you tips and suggestions but teach you to almost never use force or punishment. it was great for our puppy because she was able to socialize with other puppies around the same age (and same energy level!). emily was our instructor and she was really helpful. there are just so many places to get information about how best to raise a dog, what to feed them, etc. that it was great being able to ask questions and get suggestions from a pro. almost all of their tips worked really well, too.

the facilities are nice and clean inside. they provide you with anything your dog would need once you get there.

it was really cute because at the end of the session, they had a little test for the puppies and all of them got a toy and a cake (made of dog food).

we plan to take more classes at anything is pawsible in the future.

When planning to adopt my very first pet (dog), my husband and I observed several classes and obedience schools around Chicago. We chose Anything is Pawsible because they use a practical and positive approach to dog training. Rendy is super accessible and takes her job seriously, while being very personable at the same time. We were freaking out when our puppy first came home and Rendy came over to our house for private sessions and was very hands-on and reassuring. Then we went to the studio for classes and more private sessions. Rendy has been fabulous to work with and spends as much time as we need answering our questions and demonstrating new techniques to get our rambunctious puppy to learn a variety of skills. I would very highly recommend Rendy and Anything is Pawsible for any of your dog training needs, from puppy stuff all the way to problem behaviors. Rendy is clearly experienced and skilled and has a great studio conveniently located on North Ave and 90/94 w/ easy parking. Another bonus is that there is not a dog kennel in the same location (like most other schools we visited) and therefore no distracting barking and whining during class.

This is a great place to bring your pup to learn some manners. Rendy (the owner) is a great trainer and very very friendly.  Our dog is in her second class here and learning a lot. These classes are very involved and really help increase the bond between you and your pet. We started in the basic class which had 6 dogs in it. Our 45 pound dog was average size in our class with one tiny  Chihuahua and a lot of other similar sized dogs.  You handle your own pet mostly so you are the actual one doing the training. How well your dog learns is really up to how committed you are to doing your homework. Class is only an hour and provides a great framework for you to build on. Rendy was very quick in responding to email questions and providing suggestions to us about our dog. The advanced class we are now in is only 4 dogs ( 3 really since one didn't show) and we are building on the basic skills we learned in the previous class. I think our dog actually looks forward to going to class each week. One thing that is good is they provide written homework instructions for you so you don't have to remember everything. If you need a good reliable trainer look no further.

Is it possible to be addicted to dog training classes?  I'm almost embarrassed at the number that I've taken from Rendy over the years.  I think that I've taken every single class that she has to offer, and I keep on checking back to see if she's added more.  First it started with my one golden retriever, and now I'm going back for a second round of all of the classes with my new puppy golden retriever.

Seriously, she's the best dog trainer that I've ever been to, and I've seen a number of trainers in action over the past 12 years.  She jams so much information into the class, that you can't believe that the class is only an hour long each week.  It's a little odd - she's looks and sounds exactly like Amy Pohler (seriously - the resemblance is erie), but instead of cracking jokes, she cracks the whip on exactly what you need to be doing to communicate to your dog what you want s/he to be doing.  And it works.  Everyone is listening with rapt attention and doing their "homework" each week.  She's tiny, but somehow she commands the room, and her instructions are extraordinarily clear.  She's a great public speaker, so I'm never bored and my mind never wanders (which is a first for me - I can't sit still for the life of me).  The proof is in the pudding - I get compliments all of the time at how well-behaved my dogs are.

To save money, with my current puppy, I took him to Petsmart for puppy class with the intention of enrolling him at Anything is Pawsible for advanced dog class.  I figured that it was just puppy class, so who cares.  Big mistake - I didn't even finish the classes because I was so bored and my puppy was getting NOTHING out of it.  I should have enrolled him at Anything is Pawsible from the beginning.  You learn so much more, and Rendy is so much better than any trainer at Petsmart.

My only con - and it's a small one - is the location.  The facilities inside are great, but the building sits near a really traffic heavy and unattractive street corner (North and Elston).  The lot next door is vacant and the sidewalk all beat up.  Once I'm inside of the building, I'm fine, but parking and walking up to the front door is kind of unpleasant and not at all charming.  Parking isn't bad though, and you can get street parking without having to feed the meter (total plus).  I can't imagine that it's easy to find a building in the city that is zoned for animal training facilities, so I don't want to be overly critical about this one point.

After having puppy classes with Rendi, we opted for a few private sessions to work through the fun that is canine adolescence.  Rendi was fantastic - pointed feedback, flexibility in location and willing to take long calls as follow-ups free of charge.  We recommend her without reservation.

Anything Is Pawsible is a great place to work with your dog. The small class sizes makes it very easy to learn. Rendy is as nice as they come and she is always willing to talk about about any of your problems. I am better able to communicate with Leroy (my dog) and it makes both of our lives better!  Would defiantly recommend!

They did a really nice helping us with the foundations of training our 3 month old Airedale puppy.  Even though she was mostly interested in sniffing other dogs' butts, Emily still managed to teach her AND US some new tricks.  They are also very accommodating to schedules and provide a comforting learning environment for first-time dog owners.  We highly recommend them.

I don't know why it took me so long to write this review!  As a first time dog owner, I knew I needed to sign up for a training class.  Anything is Pawsible was recommended to me and I'm so happy I went there.  My puppy and I were signed up for puppy school last summer.  Our trainer was very experienced and friendly, and the class size was small so everyone got a lot of personal attention.  We had a great time, we learned a lot, and my puppy has now grown into a well mannered dog thanks to everything we learned there.  We will definitely be going back for their agility course!

we are in our third class with AIP. We took puppy pawsibilities, basic, and now we are in therapy training. We love the guidance and support that Emily and Rendy offer in their classes, and can't wait to take our new puppy to class with them!
