I forgot how good these folks are. Nice range of products, well priced. Staff is generally knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. We use this as our exclusive kids ski gear shop spot, and have done for 4 winters. Never had an issue with exchanges/returns.

Was able to find a backpack with the help of knowledgeable service staff. No pressure just tons of useful information. It was nice to go to a "non-chain" store that cares about the products it sells.

I called ahead of time and asked Mike if I could still return my unworn child's snow boots even though I was two days past their return policy deadline. Mike was kind enough to give me approval despite his heavy sigh on the phone and request that I take store credit.
When I arrived at the store, Brandon or possibly Brendan was at the counter. He inspected the boots and said they looked dirty. I told him they had not been worn (truth) and yet he proceeded to tell me three more times how dirty they looked. What can I say? That is how I bought them so they must have "dirty" merchandise on the floor. Although, the boots did not look dirty to me or I wouldn't have bought them.
I usually support the little guys but I will only shop at REI from now on. Their return policy is great. Doesn't matter when you return things, dirty or not, worn or not, And I'm sure their employees would not passively accuse me of returning worn boots since REI doesn't care if you wear the stuff. -

This place surprised me. I had no idea it was there and when I walked in I was surprised at the stock.
I think they change stuff in and out depending on the season. I was looking for camping supplies and found them wedged in the back corner. Most of the stock was closeouts from the skiing season.
Will have to check out their summer merchandise! Also found chaco's and keens on clearance and in my size, which definitely increased my ratings for this place!
The staff treated me well, even though I did not need any assistance.
It's kind of in an odd spot. I had no idea it existed until I happened to be paying attention one day. I think I'd driven past the place several times before. -

Location is a bit odd. Maybe it's the area. Aside from the bustling freeway a block west, Any Mountain sits in a small plaza more suited for little cafes, bookstores, trinket shops. The building has a rustic, roofing look. Wood shingles adorn the front.
Walking in, I noticed it's full of stuff. Definitely geared toward skiers. Good selection of beanies/headgear, skis, ski clothing, goggles, etc.
It looks small on the outside? But it's a large place. The hubby got board bindings. I asked the salesman what the sales tax rate is there. He said 9-13%.
What?!
Obviously, he's lost and knows nothing about it. Shrugged it off and we wandered the store. After a few minutes, we left. Not a lot of sales, but glad we got the bindings at discount. I'll go back. Why not! -

Disappointing. Walked in here looking for camping accessories and was greeted by NO ONE!! I saw 3-4 staff people standing around and totally ignored me. Never coming back here again.

If you like snow, this is your place. Boards and skis out the yinyang, along with all the accessories you could want for a day on the slopes.
Not too much other stuff though - their camping gear selection was pretty slim, but the staff here are top notch, full of great info and suggestions, and you gotta love a local business. -

Wow, I have to object with all the negativity.
I've had incredible service at Any Mountain far above and beyond the institutional ignorance I'm accustomed to at Sports Basement and other asshat discount shops. A few weeks ago I was walking out of the bookstore next door and one of their employees standing by the front door caught me looking over and invited me to come in. I didn't do it that time, but next time I did. I got awesome $250 ski pants at half off, then joined the frequent buyer club, received a $25-off coupon via email, and went back to the store to apply it retroactively! No problems at all, plus a lengthy conversation with another employee about ski conditions and various corporate owners.
In short, I love this place. The staff is knowledgeable and is quick to offer to go look in the back for gear I'm looking for, like firetruck red ski pants (I went with the gold instead - sweetness!). Can't beat the prices either. I'm going to get new ski boots here soon. Combine it with the bookshop next door for an awesome lunch break! -

I stopped here today to take advantage of the end of season snow sale. There was so much stuff in stock - I had to watch my wallet for fear of buying too much. I got some great pink gloves with liners for $10. I also got a neck gaiter for 10 bucks. I saw some cool jackets and pants and even a cute snowboard, but hey, I'm not that consistent with my snow trips that I'd need to own more than one outfit or even the gear. Maybe next year.
When I checked out, the cashier asked me if anyone helped me. Uh, I didn't even realize there were employees in the store. I looked up and around and noticed 4 (besides the cashier). Seeing as how I was one of three customers in the store, I thought it was odd that no one asked me if I needed any help. So they could improve on that, but they more than make up for it with all the girly merchandise available... and on sale! -

I went last w/e (first w/e of October) having seen the "clearance sale" sign on my way to Book Passage.
Anthony and Kyle (I *think* Kyle) really helped us sift through the snowboards for good deals that worked for us. The selection seemed much much bigger than REI and the service was super relaxed and personable.
We can't wait to go to the snow! -

This place is a bit hidden in Marin but once you do find it, it may prove to be one of the better outdoorsy stores in the Bay Area. Why? Because not enough people know about it, it doesn't bring the crowds and therefore has merchandise in stock. I went after hearing an ad on the radio for up to 50% off. Places like North Face, Patagonia, and REI often sell out of sizes and styles quickly when they do a sale, but Any Mountain still had lots of mechandise left even at the end of the weekend. How come they don't shut down? Their offices are located at this location...
They are one of the few places in town that consistantly carries ski boots during the off season. They also rent skis during the ski season.
Service is not bad but a little light on staff. -

I've been to a few Any Mountain stores, and by far, this is the best one! Employees are knowledgeable and helpful. Awesome place to get winter gear. The manager, Shawn, was great and helpful. The store was busy when I went but, although there were many customers they still took the time to fit my bindings properly and actually ask me what I wanted and needed. Walked out with smile. Life-long customer right here.

I think this Any Mountain is great. They have a great selection of skis and winter outerwear and have a knowledgeable staff to help you out. I recently took my skis in to get tuned and they came out looking brand new. I will definitely be coming back.

The employees in this store are amazing. They treat you like their best friend. Every time I go there for ski advice or equipment, they give me personalized treatment and go above and beyond the call of duty. Anthony is particularly helpful.

The initial poor review occurred when the company was between ownership. Back in the day 1998 and before, this chain of stores were great. They had a change in ownership and went through a rough patch a couple of years ago, but now are back as good if not better than before. I have been in the Corte Madera store a few times recently, and the customer service was outstanding. They are a great outdoor store and will beat ANY competitors prices. If you ski or snowboard especially, their selection and service is the best in the bay area.

The service at Any Mountain is horrifying. There were maybe three other customers in the store and at least five employees, yet I still had to wait an hour for them to accomplish virtually nothing towards tuning my skis, followed by the pre-teen working at the front register asking me (the customer) how to ring up my order. I will never shop there again.

Myself, my parents, and my little bro have been shopping here for years! They are my go to for anything snow related. I will say though, I had a difficult time getting a board replaced from them. I bought a very nice (very expensive) Lib Tech board for my boyfriend last season, which he LOVED! Low and behold, it de-lamed right at the tail end of the season, so I took it back to Any Mountain. I expected no issues, but after having the board for two weeks, Any Mountain told me that they couldn't help me and I had to go straight to lib tech. So I went to Lib Tech. Lib Tech told me that since Any Mountain is a discount retailer, they have their own warranty system and I have to go to them. So, back to Any Mountain I went. After much arguing, Any Mountain agreed to replace the board with next years board, they would just give me a gift card for the amount I paid and then when the new board came in, they would take the gift card and give me the other board. I asked them point blank if I would have to pay anything when the new board came in, and they said no. Ignoring my screaming father in my head, I did not get this in writing, and decided to trust. BAD IDEA. When I came in, months later, the pick up my board, they tried to charge me over $100 and tell me that they never agreed to what I was talking about! I asked if I could then get the same discount I got when I bought the original board, and they said "no!" Just as I was about to have them credit me on my credit card and take all my business elsewhere, in stepped ERIC B., my savior. He gave me the original discount I received when I purchased the original board so that the charge for the new board was marginal, and I gladly paid it. Thank you Eric B.! Thanks to Eric's kindness, I will be returning to Any Mountain to purchase new skis this year. FYI, Eric works Monday and Friday. If you want a nice, reasonable, helpful guy, he's your man.

I would check out Any Mountain before heading anywhere else. The staff has been so helpful to me each time I have gone in. They know their merchandise, and helped me get completely set up to go camping without selling me anything I really didn't need. Try them out!

5-stars for good selection, prices and knowledgeable, helpful staff. Most importantly, their return policy. I recently purchased a high end pair of snowboard boots (about $330) to match the high end board and bindings I'd purchased. Much to my dismay, the boots just didn't work for me during my first weekend of riding. I took them back, not expecting much, but after they asked some questions about the issues they started processing an exchange. I not only got new replacement boots, but they got me a better pair for my feet and riding style that were $150 less than the original pair. I walked out very satisfied, with enough money leftover for 2 more days of riding this winter. They are my go-to for any mountain related shopping from here on.
