5 reviews for Antonio's La Fiamma
I love this place. The owner, an Orlando native whose Grandparents immigrated from Italy, actually flew in brick masons from Italy to build the wood burning ovens, and the wait and kitchen staff all speak Italian.
You don't get more authentic than that!
You can dress up and take the elevator to enjoy fine dining and a view of the lake in the second floor dining room, or come as you are and visit the casual cafe and wine shop downstairs.
The server will recommend the daily entree specials.
Be sure to listen to him.
The wine selection is extensive, and I recommend that you order what you like, if you know about wine. If not, they will happily suggest the appropriate (and expensive) bottle.
This should be the most popular fine restaurant in town.
Note: be sure to check the website for monthly prix fixe specials.
What a lovely restaurant. While living out of suitcases, moving into Florida, we celebrated the big transition by eating at Antonio's. The staff, but not the clientele, welcomed us in our jeans and T-shirts. The food and service were exceptional. Thank you Antonio's La Fiamma.
Buon appetito! This very authentic Italian restaurant just may be the best Italian restaurant of the area. In addition to the wonderful food, the service is impeccable. Waiters pull your chairs out for you and lay the napkins on your lap-very impressive and fancy. The restaurant is definitely on the nicer side, so you may want to dress up a bit, but it's not required. The menu is a little pricey, but nothing too extreme. Everything on the menu sounds delicious, so choose wisely. Whatever you choose, you will surely be satisfied. Some of the delicious choices include Risotto alla Zafferano (risotto cooked with saffron, white wine and shrimp! yum!), Linguine alle Vongole (linguini with clams) and Penne alla Boscaiola (penne pasta with mushrooms, pancetta in a tomato cream sauce). Pair these dishes with a fine wine from their extensive list. Additionally, the dessert menu makes your mouth water. This fine-dining part of the building is on the second floor. The first floor has the cafe and deli as well as the wine shop. Enjoy!
Not sure when reviewer Dale was last at La Fiamma, but the only people who spoke Italian on my visit were a couple of Argentinian servers. Their Italian was quite good, though, and props to them for learning it. I was pretty apprensive when scanning the menu choices of mostly the same old stuff, and both the server-recommended cabernet (I was a solo diner, so just a glass) and the bruschetta were okay but a long way from something to write home about. But the evening's special pasta, a sacchette alla Vodka, was very different and intruigingly enjoyable. For dessert, I enjoyed some biscotti with Vin Santo - a true Italian dopo cena selection, which you NEVER find in a US restaurant. While definitely not the place for a quiet, intimate dinner, and most definitely not the place to try your first bottle of Brunello (jeez, the prices!), it's still worth a visit.
This place is the consistantly best Italian food in Central Florida. All three restaurants (another in Celebration and one in the Dr. Phillips area) are great. The food is authentic and wonderfully prepared. The owner is incredibly picky about the freshness and quality of the ingredients. So much so that once I complained that the pepperoni on a pizza I got from the deli downstairs from the fancier dining area tasted weird and came to find-out that the reason was because they were using a very expensive cappicola type meat for the pepperoni and it was just so different from the normal stuff that it didn't taste "right". They changed the meat to more traditional (and cheaper) pepperoni by the next time I ordered one. The pizza from the deli area of the Maitland location is possibly the best in Orlando. The wait staff upstairs in teh fancier dining area is mostly long term and very good. Wine list is excellent.
