Wow! This place is a treasure!
Authentic Italian Home cooking with a Master Chef behind the counter.
My tastebuds had a vacation! I love the pizza, the crust is OUT of THIS WORLD, I can't stop at one!
The soups are made with great fresh ingredients and the subs are delicious!!!

It just okay. Not a-okay, but not deserving of a two-star zinger.

I'll preface my review by saying that I've only been here once--and I've hardly finished chewing . . . and I'll add in the fact that I only ordered a Greek salad. It was decidedly meh and surprisingly small for a dish that's primarily composed of iceberg lettuce.

I suspect where this place shines, however, is in their Italian specialty dishes. Things like ravioli, gnocci, and meatballs are all on the menu. And based on the sign, this is an Italian-influenced sub shop. (So, I suppose I should have known better than to order a Greek salad.)

This place is a little off the beaten path, on the Newton-Waltham line, not too far from the high end of Moody Street. If you're a meatball connoisseur, you might want to give this place a whirl, but if you're looking for your ordinary sub or salad lunch fare, you're best to just move on.

There are a few places to sit in here, but the ambiance is decidedly lacking. Just a funeral home calendar and the old-fashioned menu board with the push-in letters and numbers.

N.B.  My salad came with a piece of scali bread that was quite tasty and fresh--albeit full of empty carbs.

Easy to overlook, Antonia's is a small place located not far from the Moody Street shopping district featuring subs and homemade Italian-flavored dishes. Subs are better than average and feature very fresh ingredients and better than average breads. Where the place shines, though, is in its selection of other Italian specialties. Pasta, ravioli, etc.,...it's all there. And the soup will make you feel like you've traveled to the North End...without fighting for parking. Place has a few tables and a homey feel and prices are more reasonable than what one would find at a downtown place.

Antonia's is also open mornings and features muffins and coffee. I make sure to grab a blueberry muffin when I'm coming by. Better than the supermarket variety and less expensive too. Altogether, not bad.

Excellent chicken cutlet subs. Empenadas are great as well. Well worth the visit to this small establishment. The owner is a very nice and friendly lady.
