Great for a quick snack, coffee or sandwich at reasonable prices! Took me a while to check out this place, but I will be returning when I need a shopping break.

The best place to grab a quick, healthy, yummy bite while running to your favorite stores in South Coast plaza is here. The service is friendly and quick. Their drinks are much better than Starbucks. A panini and a drink can fill you up for such a low price that you save time & cash for your endless shopping fun. Surprisingly, though in the middle of busy traffic areas, there are always enough tables and chairs for everyone. I highly recommend this place.

Positive: Coffee didn't have a bitter Starbucks-esque aftertaste
Negative: Coffee had a blah-muddied-flat taste
This is not Italian style coffee at all. Average. -

I've tried different tiramisu's at restaurants and I think the one here is the best!

Review from Debby L.
The barista guys here run this place like a Vietnamese sandwich joint. Fast, efficient, and kind of all over the place. The espresso bar is smack in the middle of the mall by the Coach store, and traffic is heavy.
ICE BLENDED MOCHA
Get this AFTER you try on clothes. [I've made this mistake before.] The blend is smooth and not too chocolaty or strong. It's $4.25 for the small and the large is $4.50. Add some whip cream on top and you're golden.
SEATS
Bar stools are in front of the bar, but during weekends, the line is long and you can get jostled if you sit at the bar. Opt for one of the cafe like chairs below where you can people watch just as much without the bustle of the people trying to get their coffee behind you.Listed in: CAFE !, FAST & JUNK FOOD

I usually hesitate to buy something from here cuz there's no menu. But I read the reviews on Yelp and alot of peeps suggested the Cafe Mocha. It was pretty good, not too sweet. And they made it fast, despite the fact that it was pretty busy. They didn't have any covers for my cup, so I asked for some and they brought that quickly as well. The prices were about the same as Starbucks and the service was good.
I also noticed that they do have a menu; you just have to go up to the counter to see it. Overall, good experience. -
Review from Evelyn K.
They serve the best mocha in South Coast Plaza. This is such a wonderful place on many levels. The food is very good. Antonello Espresso Bar has sandwiches and desserts. The desserts are so visually appealing and they are tasty.
The people working there are professional and do their job well. Their location is right by the Coach store. I would rather order a coffee or mocha here than wait in line forever at Starbucks. There are tons of Starbucks but this is the only Antonello Espresso Bar I have ever seen. Fabulous!Listed in: Coffee and Tea

So hard to find good coffee!!! Thank you antonellos! if you like people watching...well... there just isn't a better place. If you like quality sandwiches and desserts... this is definitely a place to visit. Prices are extremely reasonable for what you're getting. The food comes from the main Antonellos restaurant and you don't pay the premium at the espresso bar. pleasant atmosphere as usual at busy South Coast Plaza. You just have to go try it out.

The food #1
Great place to pickup a quick munch and watch the scene around go by. The sandwiches, coffee and desserts here are is pretty good. I usually get a latte with a biscuit or a toasted tuna sandwich with tiramisu cake or crème brulee with the strawberry on top.
The Price #2
The prices are reasonable for the sandwiches and desserts are about $5 and the coffees are $3.
The Bar #3
It's across from D&G on the second floor and there's plenty of seating. I prefer sitting on the mini deck right next to the bar because people won't bump onto you when they walk by especially on holidays. -

I've always loved this place. They are friendly, quick and the food is fresh authentic Italian lunch faire. The prices are reasonable ($5) and they are quick to deliver your food to you.
I always order the vegetarian Panini, it's really good! The creme brulee and tiramisu are yummy.
Antonello's sits in the perfect place to grab a bite while you're shopping. Great for people watching too!

This place seems always packed, so we decided to stop by and grab a quick drink.
Since they didn't take your name, people can just grab your drink... so make sure you stand by the bar.
My latte was just okay, nothing special... it was warm and not hot. I would venture to say that this latte is not even as good as Starbucks. -
Review from Oanh N.
I usually come here instead of McD's for less greasy and more gourmet sandwiches for a quick bite when I'm shopping at SCP. I always order the panio prosciutto where they toast it for you to have the crust nice and crispy. The panio is really simple by just having some sort of cheese (I'm not a cheese connoisseur but it was white and not strong in taste) with a good amount of prosciutto slices with some sort of light spread. I ask for packets of tapatio and spread it inside the sandwich to give it kick and makes the sandwich taste more vibrant. I think this is a good place to get a quick snack while you're shopping since it won't leave your fingers all greasy.
Cost: 1 panini was $5.50 even. -
Review from Will M.
After my friends and I eat somewhere in the mall, this is our favorite place to have dessert and soda, tea or coffee and people watch. I'm not a huge fan of espresso drinks, so I can't comment on how good or bad it is here. People watching at Antonello's is a cheap way to be entertained and have coffee and dessert. On a typical Friday night, we see all types of people walking by. Most are just families and couples out on a stroll. Occasionally we'll see people with various hair colors, some with tatoos or piercings, saggers or wearing the super skinny jeans that crush vital organs. Across the way are high end stores like Dolce Gabbana with sticker shocked customers.
I think I've tried every one of their pastries, and I like them all. It would be impossible to name a favorite. They're all richly flavored with a hint of butter or cream so much of it is not only tasty, the so called "mouth feel" is silky good. Last time I was there, I had the tiramisu with it's rich custard texture and sprinkled dark chocolate on top and cake at the bottom. The time before that, it was the apple danish with slices of apple with a little custard under. I couldn't stop eating it, though I intended only to eat half and take the rest home. I've never eaten sandwhiches there, but they have them and bagged chips.
I love their cookies, esp. the almond ones. Don't know the names of them, I just point, pay, carry, and eat. They have chocolate chip cookies, biscotti's and muffins (blueberry, oatmeal, etc.), too. As I mentioned earlier, I don't know much about their capucinnos or lattes, etc. But as far as brewed coffee, I've never had a bad cup of coffee here. And I'm the kind of person who grinds fresh beans at home when I want coffee.
It's a gathering spot for some on a Friday night. You'd think they were going to solve Obama's Health Care issues. So you might have to look around for a seat, but sometimes it's deserted. There are a few other spots at South Coast Plaza for desserts but this is a favorite. -

Review from Angela C.
I always pass this place on the 2nd floor of South Coast Plaza. It's a little open bar with small tables next to the J.Crew store.
I got an iced latte once and it was really bland... nothing spectacular about this place and it is overpriced. I guess that's just how it goes at South Coast. -
Review from Behzad M.

One of my favorite places to have an espresso and relax while I'm in South Coast. This place pulls the best espresso shot in the area.
There seems to be a constant group of people that I always see here sitting around and either chit-chatting or reading a newspaper or doing a little work, which to me is very endearing.
Helpful hint: If you're used to drinking at the usual coffee spots (Starbucks et al.) you will probably feel that the lattes/capps here are pretty weak. This is because most places now use 2 shots of espresso for the smalls, and 3 for the larger sizes. Antonello, from what I have experienced, uses 1 and 2, respectively. I'm not sure why they do this, because the cost is higher than other coffee shops. Therefore, if you want that usual stronger coffee taste ask for an extra shot. -

I LOVE this place to the point that I HAVE TO VISIT it have I come back to Southern California.
It always starts out with shopping, and I eventually pass by this little coffee shop on the way to Nordy's. I stop and grab a Large Iced Tea - not a bottled one, but whatever comes out of the machine. This Iced Tea tastes like JOY. The tarts are good too. I smile at the older gentleman behind the counter because he's always there and always nice. I try to talk my mom out of buying a tart/cookie/sandwich. I fail. We then spend a good hour watching people pass by.
In short: Amazing Iced Tea & Amazing people-watching location. Pretty much everyone in the mall has to pass by this place at some point . . . -
Review from Ming-Jou C.
Torrance, CA
My mom likes this place. I tried it once just because it was in such a centrally-located area. I don't know why, but I always feel like the people behind the counter are in such a hurry. And there are like 5 people behind there at any given point, and they're always crawling over each other.
And they're always asking you for small bills. I think if you're going to be in a location like South Coast Plaza, and you accept cash only, then you should be prepared to give change for $20, $50 and probably $100 bills. And it's not like it was early in the morning, it was in the middle of the day. They need to stock up on small bills. And my mocha was watered down. Not good for $4.
Now I just keep on walking to Coffee Bean nears Saks and get my good ol' reliable ice blended mocha. -

So how does one earn an extra star from moi?....
...By having the perfect tiramisu with the perfect espresso!
We stopped by DeBeers to visit our favorite SCP person (Mr. Angelucci) and of course, no trip is complete to the Plaza without a stop at Antonello's.
I normally indulge with a chocolate biscotti with my espresso, but this time I took Pasquale's advise and had the tiramisu. OMG! I've had many a wonderful tiramisu, but this one was perfect. A single layer of lady finger infused goodness was what the doctor ordered. In a word; spectacular.
Give in to the urge and try one yourself next time!Listed in: Get Me COFFEEEEEEE!

After a few hours of shopping with my mom, we sat down here for a cup of coffee. We've passed by here countless times but usually take our coffee breaks at Nordstrom's. Mom decided to have the lemonade, big mistake, it was completely watered down. The employee was kind enough to exchange it for another one w/o ice, just the same. My espresso was not strong enough, it tasted like heavy dosage Folgers or something. I couldn't force myself to finish my espresso, went back to Nordstrom's. 1.5 stars for the friendly staff.

This is my favorite places to go have a latte when I am shopping. They have my favorite pecan sandies and numerous other snacks. It is evident that the workers there work HARD. They get your drink out ASAP. There is a Coffee Bean near the Sax, and there is a Nordstrom eBar, and I like this one by far.

Good pastries and OK coffee. It's nothing to be raving about as it is small and they can only carry so many items. I wish they would have differentiated themselves than just doing the same old, same old [palmiers, cookies, etc], but I guess that's what people like. And since it's in South Coast Plaza, you know it's going to cost a grip, but give that our other choice of something similar is McDonald's and Corner Bakery [geez], this is a good alternative.

I think what I liked the best about this place was the people watching opportunities! It's very small, but they have a bar where u can have your drink and confections and look out at the shoppers walking by. It was even funner, cause we sat next to this really cute guy...who we found out after striking up a conversation that he is a gold digger (still don't know if he was joking or telling the truth!)...basically he was looking for an old lady with money who could take care of him and he would "take care" of her in exchange!lol Oh, and our coffee was alright:) My friend and I ordered a vanilla coffee blended ice drink....it was good, but would of liked it a little stronger and more icy...don't like it when it feels so milky and sweet like. And i think it is slightly more pricey than Starbucks...my grande size blended drink was about 5 something...where as Starbucks is about $4
