San Diego, CA
Many of my friends had recommended Dr. Misleh and I can see why.
Scheduling was a breeze with Linda, who is always peppy with on top of her shiz.
I can here for a routine exam and cleaning. After filling out a basic health survey, I had to wait about 15-20 minutes before being called back to get my x-rays. The tech was competent and nice. The process is quick and you can see the images come up right away on a flat screen monitor mounted over the chair.
After that, I was quickly wisked away to a different dental hygienist who would be doing my cleaning. She first measured and recorded all my gun pocket depths to gauge the heath of my gums. Then she did a VERY thorough cleaning.
Finally, Dr. Misleh came to take a look at the x-rays and do his exam. He's a straight shooter who will not try to upsell you any services. I had complete trust in him.
Overall, this was a painless experience that I felt was worth my time and money. At the end I even got a gift bag with a bottle of water, toothbrush, floss, and mini toothpaste tube.
If you need to have a procedure done, Linda will give you an estimate taking into account your insurance type.
Class A operation here folks! If I wasn't moving out of San Diego, I would definitely make Dr. Misleh my regular dentist. -

WOW. I have recommended 5 people to see Dr. Misleh and we all agree that when we get those little reminder cards in the mail or the reminder phone call the day before that we are not dreading going in.
The receptionist is a DOLL. So nice--greets me by name every time. They take care of insurance no problem. Metlife, Delta Dental, Aetna, you have it they take it but don't just take my word for it, confirm first.
The hygienist there is SO thorough and super nice also. I finally started flossing because of her!
You have to go see Dr. Misleh. It's next to the yummiest mexican place El Cotixan and central San Diego. Love the convenience, location, and Dr. Misleh best of all. I had chipped my front tooth grinding and he evened it out for me no problem.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND! -

Thank you Anton and your wonderful staff (you know who you are) for making me glad to go to the Dentist. 16 years of visits, greater than 10 referrals (all satisfied), and a zillion mini-toothpastes and mouthwashes given out post-cleaning/checkup I use when I travel. What's there not to like?

I've only been to this office once but really enjoy every single staff member I've encountered thus far. When my husband was having pain back in December I called early in the morning and Linda made sure to squeeze him in right away- and treated him like family. My husband and I are far from being fans of the dentist office but Dr. Misleh and his staff make me wish I had more cavities so I could spend more time here! I feel so lucky to have found this dentist and will definitely be recommending him to friends and family.

Dr. Misleh is awesome! After being recommended to go here by Dr. Khuong Nguyen (my uncle-in-law, a pediatric dentist), my teeth are oh so happy. They make you feel so comfortable (despite the whirring sounds, lol) and have state of the art technology (you can see your X-rays on the screen immediately!). There are educational programs about dental hygiene on flat screen tv's throughout the office. Dr. Misleh and his dental hygienist have great rapport with their patients and staff too. Plus, you get a lil goodie bag with water, floss, toothpaste, and a toothbrush too :) To assuage your fears, if any remain, is the fact that Dr. Misleh was voted as one of San Diego's Best Dentists of 2009 (by peers) in San Diego magazine.

Thank GOD for Dr. Misleh!
I had been with a family dentist in SF for 20 years until he suggested I get a mouthguard that ended up shifting my teeth in my sleep because it wasn't made right, causing me to wake up throughout the night. Needless to say I stopped using it and decided to find a new dentist here in San Diego.
I searched around on Yelp and decided to give him a try. I originally was in just for a routine check up until one morning I had ground my teeth in my sleep and chipped off some work that had been done to my front tooth months prior. FREAKING OUT I immediately called the office at 7 or 8 in the morning in need of repair before I went to school that day. They were very understanding, got me in, fixed it up real quick and I wasn't even late for school.
I wish I could say that was the end of my story but this happened to me probably about 3 more times in the matter of a couple weeks and he suggested that I get a mouth guard or else I was going to run my insurance dry and be paying hundreds of dollars every few weeks.
The only recommendation I have is to make sure you know what your insurance covers. I wasn't aware that my insurance covers a mouth guard every 2 years, so since I had already gotten one made by my last dentist, I was charged in full for this new one. At first I was sort of upset with my dentist for not looking into it, but then I realized that it's my responsibility to know my coverage, not theirs. Oh the trials and tribulations in learning how to be an adult.
They were kind enough to understand I didn't have to money to pay everything up front and we broke it down into installments. I got my mouthguard and though I wasn't ready to be 9 years old again and have to wear something in my mouth to sleep every night, it's the BEST knowing that I can go to sleep at night and not wake up with part of my front tooth chipped off.
The staff there is so so so nice and easy to talk to, they give you a bottle of crystal geyser which is one of my favorite waters lol and an actual nice tooth brush instead of those ones you'd only end up hoarding in your bathroom drawers. All in all, love my time spent there, can't wait for my next check up! -

One more five star review for Dr. Misleh, Linda, Gina, and Niko. They're all really friendly and make getting your teeth cleaned pleasant.

Dr. Misleh and his staff make going to the dentist an almost pleasant experience. This is coming from a person that used to take a valium before each dental appointment just to calm myself down. (I no longer do this)
The hygienists are thorough. I have dental insurance but inquired as to the price of an out-of-pocket cleaning. It is $98. I don't know if that's average, but they do a really great job and it is extremely pleasant going to his office so I'd say it's worth it. -
Review from Mark M.
SUPER friendly....and they got me in about twenty minutes after I called because of a last-minute cancellation.
Every single person I interacted with was SO NICE from the receptionist to the (VERY cute) dental hygienist to the dentist. In particular, the dental hygienist, who I spent the most time with, was really cool. She told me step-by-step everything she was doing, and although she is clearly WAY more into teeth than I am/ever will be, it was pretty awesome how completely thorough she was. The was the most meticulous cleaning I have ever had. It's clear that pushing cosmetic dentistry is encouraged, but extra points for saying that it might be unnecessary for me because she likes her men rugged looking. Flattery WILL get you everywhere, honey!!! Ha!
At the end of my visit, Dr. Misleh came in and chatted with me for about five minutes, and he is a GREAT guy. I can see why he has such a flourishing practice...
I FINALLY found my San Diego dentist. I'm still not going to floss, though! -

From the first call you make to his office, Dr. Misleh's staff is on top of everything. They ask for all of your insurance info beforehand to cut down on the paperwork (+), and they are SO nice on the phone.
I got there expecting them to be nice, but I felt like I was meeting new friends instead of a dentist's staff - is that weird?? Linda at the front desk was so personable I wanted to give her a hug before I left. Jessica, the hygienist, was super cool and easy to chat with (or listen to her chat while her hands were in my mouth). She was also very thorough in her cleaning, which I really appreciated, and didn't rush through the cleaning.
The atmosphere there is great, the people are really sweet and everyone introduces him or herself, and Dr. Misleh himself couldn't be a more likable guy. Is it weird that now that I've found them I want to go to the dentist more than twice a year??
Couldn't be happier with my new dentist and his staff. -

Same story as everyone else!
Staff here is absolutely fantastic. Everyone is so friendly and personable, and easy to talk to. They explain everything completely, and are gentle and sensitive to those little things like how hard you're cringing... ha :)
Nothing more to say except strongly, strongly recommended! -

Trust a dental scaredy-cat, go see Dr. Misleh.
The staff here is just plain excellent. Linda at the front desk is so nice, you wish she was part of your family. The three office hygienists are all friendly, very gentle, and do a terrific job. They make the time go by quick while they clean your teeth. Even the dreaded pocket depths are no sweat here. X-rays are digital, so instead of those annoying big bitewings, it's just a little probe. Dr. Misleh himself is super. He's practical and honest. (O.K., he does tell the worst groaner jokes!) He won't push you into anything your teeth don't need, but will be upfront about what they do. He's the kind of dentist who will say, "It's your choice, but I would recommend..." My teeth weren't in the greatest shape when I started seeing him, but they are now!
Appointments are convenient, and the staff will fit you in right away if you need - like the time I chipped my tooth biting a staple closed. If you need more extensive work done than just a cleaning, they always give you a written estimate up front, so you know exactly what it's going to cost. They take most dental insurance and I have never had an insurance problem with Dr. Misleh's office - never.
The office itself is comfortable, attractive, and very clean. The waiting room is spacious and very well stocked with current magazines. Parking is always available and easy. -

I have been with Dr. Misleh since I was 12. 14 years later, I can't say enough nice things about him, his staff and their professionalism. First off, the reviews are all spot on about Linda. I have a hard time leaving because she is just such a wonderful person to chat with. She will instantly make you feel like you've made a new best friend.
Over the last 14 years, the office has had some new faces here and there. ALL of the hygienists who work here have been top notch! In addition to gentle, thorough and professional service, they are all a pleasure to be around (even in that scary chair with those scary tools). They are very consistent in their hiring practices, bringing on only the utmost quality people.
Finally... Dr. Misleh... how can you NOT like this guy? He's always got a huge, contagious smile on his face. How he remembers every detail of my life, I'll never know, but I appreciate it. He never has to spend much time with me because he's a damn good dentist and he has a great staff.
You can tell by their customer service that you are not just a number to them. They WILL go out of their way to make you happy. Linda takes care of all things insurance, taking the stress completely off her happy customers. My next appointment is next month. I can't wait to see everyone and catch up!!! Who actually looks forward to seeing their dentist?! I do!! It's almost a shame I only get to go to the dentist twice a year... -

I just went here for the first time this morning and it was awesome. I haven't been to the dentist since relocating to San Diego a year ago (I'll admit I was scared!), but Dr. Misleh and his staff are outstanding. I love how he went over my x-rays with me, I had no idea how to read them and thought it was cool how he told me where my enamel was, what my nerves looked like etc.
From the front desk (Linda is super nice!!) to the x-ray technician, to my hygienist, it was a great experience. I learned the difference between plaque and tarter, plus how to prevent them, and how to potentially stop a cavity that is in the works. Very informative and professional, but personal as well. Plus, they give you a goody bag with floss, toothpaste, toothbrush, and water to send you on your way.
Awesome awesome awesome. 10 stars. -

I had my first cleaning with Dr. Misleh today and was SERIOUSLY impressed. I have never met such a friendly dentist, receptionist, hygienist... everyone there is amazing!
I can't think of a single thing that they could have done any better. Seriously, seriously impressed. -
Review from Tiffany P.

All right, I waited until I had visited Dr. Misleh twice before writing a review, and I was only MORE impressed my second time around! Thoughts:
Goodness gracious, Linda, the receptionist, truly IS the sweetest woman ever. She is so friendly, kind, and helpful. I called back the day after receiving a filling to see if I could come in and pick up a receipt with the details, and she said, "Of course, but you know what, I can just email it to you and save you a trip." That's just one example of how she helps make the overall experience great.
The hygienist who took my x-rays was very nice as well; she told me what she was going to do and warned me when it might hurt. It wasn't very pleasant, but at least she tried her best :)
The hygienist who cleaned my teeth was also great. She was nice and explained flossing and other oral care very thoroughly. I thought it was interesting that she also measured something (depth of gum pockets?) to indicate how healthy my gums were. I liked having those concrete numbers as evidence that I really should brush better =/
And finally, onto Dr. Misleh himself. What a friendly guy. He makes wonderful small talk - a pleasure to listen to, not annoying at all. It probably helps that I'm a medical student, so he had a lot of interesting stories to tell that I appreciated from a medical standpoint. He explains everything he does, which I really appreciate. I brought in my nightguard for him to look at (I can't stop grinding my teeth... so sad) and after he checked it out, he was kind enough to clean and sterilize it for me.
My previous dentist, which I had for several years, is my main point of comparison... and boy, what a world of difference! My old dentist barely talked to me, didn't seem very warm and friendly, and didn't give me a chance to ask any questions. Dr. Misleh and his staff truly are awesome! -
Review from Sonya S.

Finding a great dentist is no easy task. Growing up, I had the same dentist for over a decade and he saw everyone in my family. He was awesome so it was tragic when I went to college and could no longer go to him. I have struggled since to find a dentist who compares. That is until Tiff P recommended Dr. Misleh and I am happy to say that I am as impressed with him and his office as she is (you can see her stellar review here too).
The ladies at the front desk are wonderful (on the phone and in person) and they are clearly expecting you when you walk in. They take time to ask you how you are doing and welcome you warmly. They'll help you sort out insurance issues and technical details with no problem.
The hygienists are professional and friendly. They take keeping your teeth clean quite seriously and even give you goggles to protect from splashes! The also explain good brushing and flossing techniques as well as issues like grinding and gum recession.
Dr. Misleh is a relaxed, jolly guy. He puts you at ease with some casual conversation as he examines your teeth with those fancy pants magnifying glasses (you'll know what I am talking about when you see them). He doesn't seem rushed or harried and gives you time for questions and concerns.
The thing that impressed me most is how little wait time there is. I got in and out in under 40 min! I didn't wait more than a few minutes to see the hygienist or Dr. Misleh. That is great scheduling! I used the time I saved to write this review :)
Oh I almost forgot to include this but the dental goodie bag you get at the end is pretty exciting: toothbrush (it is a high class one but I can't betray my Sonicare like that), mini toothpaste, mini mouthwash, mini floss, and bottle of water (random, but appreciated). -

I could easily give 5 * but I have had some less than pleasant experiences with some (temp?) dental hygenests when, other times, it was a breeze as it could and should have always been - more professional delivery of anesthesia.
The spirit of the place is Linda. She just makes it a non anti dentite or pro dentite place as if it was an amusement park. Thank God I Have Found This Place! -

Amazing person, amazing staff, amazing dentist. I can confidently say Dr. Misleh and his team take the time to show they truly care for their patients. They explain every step and clearly know what they are doing. Also I have worked in the dental field and see that Misleh offers his patients only the best.
I did some consulting work for a large outsourcing lab that manufactures crowns and dentures. Many Dentists outsource their crowns to China because it is cheap, but the quality isn't the same as those made locally for 7 times more money (you've seen about the quality problems that have surfaced there - e.g. lead paint on toys - think about what you are putting in your mouth)! Then, even though Dr Misleh pays several times more for the crowns he gives his patients, he charges less than other doctors charge for the inferior product.
This guy is truly the real deal. You will not regret choosing his practice for you and your family.
When I moved here I had first gone to another dentist that told me I need thousands of dollars in work. I had some of the work done and that dentist charged me more than quoted, I then saw Dr. Misleh for another opinion. Dr. Misleh set things straight: I didn't need ANY of the work - not even close (I had that confirmed by a friend of mine who is a peridontal surgeon)! It IS important to choose a professional worthy of your trust!
One side: the office is not the lap of luxury. But the wait is never long and Dr Misleh and his staff focus and do well at what is most important: patient care. -

First of all, the receptionist and I became best friends over the phone. She was amazing and made me feel at ease about seeing Dr. Misleh. It can be scary seeing a new dentist, but when I walked in the office I felt like they took extra care in making me feel relaxed and comfortable.

If I had the option to give a looootttt of stars, I would. I had not been to the dentist in a loooooong time, so I finally went today. This place is amazing, they are sooo friendly, its too good to be true quite honestly. I really am surprised to see that this dentist doesnt have more reviews because he deserves it. Linda the receptionist is the sweetest woman ever, as it turns out husband picked a shit tey dental plan and they offered to help me pick the best plan for us when theres open enrollment. I had a very successful visit, since, after many years of no dentist visit, I had NO cavities! CHeeeah! I did not feel rushed at all, they all took the time to ask me questions and to let me ask questions. Seriously, they were amazing!!!! I really hope you guys check him out, you will not regret it!

I love my dentist. Really. You can ask any of my friends- I really do love Dr. Misleh! He's fabulous! He is extremely medically knowledgeable...and has a great personality. The office staff is wonderful as well!

Super staff, super dentist! I took my 7 year old daughter in for a second opinion on some suggested dental work (first dentist said she had 13 cavities that need work). Dr. Misleh redid her x-rays without charging me, and reviewed them with me and showed me that she did in fact have 2 (yes, only 2) cavities. We were never made to feel rushed, everyone seemed genuinely interested in making sure that our experience was a good one. I will be taking all 4 of my kids to Dr. Misleh!

Very sorry to say every time we went back, we wound up paying out of pocket for procedures that weren't covered. They didn't investigate thoroughly to make sure if everything was covered or not. 3 out of 4 times I wen't back, I found out we had out of pocket expense that they claimed was covered, but then had the excuse, the insurance didn't tell us what percentage was covered. I just received my last bill of $360.00, $720.00 less expected insurance amount coverage. when I gave them approval to charge my card for the $360.00 they charged $720.00. For whatever reason they didn't get the insurance payments. Their biggest problem is their billing practice. They're just not willing to deal with your insurance company to collect their money, and they think coverage issues are your job. They even wanted me to call my insurance to get authorization for a wizdom tooth extraction. One of the worst dental offices I've dealt with.

These fine people are the Cadillac of customer service. As was said in previous other reviews, Linda is likely the nicest person you'll ever meet. They all invest time in getting to know their patients. You feel as if you're part of their family, not to mention the great dentistry!
I recently brought my 4-month old baby in, and they were delighted to hold him and watch him during my entire appointment. Wow. I can't say enough about this group! -

I decided to switch dentists and read a lot of great reviews about this place, so I made an appointment with them. All the reviews were right! I came here this morning and the staff was really friendly. There's nothing like great customer service. I am happy here and it makes me think that I should have switched to this place a long time ago!

finally walked out of a dentist office without wishing i had no teeth.
The receptionist is super friendly. Both she and Dr. Anton shook my hand and warmly welcomed me. It was my first visit, so I had X-rays done and my teeth cleaned. Dr. Anton went through the X-rays with me and taught me how to read them, showed me where I had a few cavities, and which wisdom tooth should be pulled out.
Everything was excellent! I was seen within 10 minutes of filling out the paperwork, the X-rays were digital so super fast, and they cleaned my teeth as soon as my consultation was done. He also recommended me to an orthodontist, and I'll be going in for a free consultation soon.
I especially recommend this place if you are a UCSD student. They get a lot of students there, so they are very well versed in using SHIP. They gave me a detailed estimate for the fillings I need (showing how much I pay and how much insurance pays). He said I may need a root canal, but he wants to avoid that if he can (that made me happy!)
I will update my review after I've had the procedures done. For now, I am very happy! -

I found Dr. Misleh's office through my list of providers from the insurance company and searching most of them online and through Yelp. I finally decided to go to Dr. Misleh and found out that I had to get my first crown ever. Going to the dentist is one of the most uncomfortable feelings for me, but Dr. Misleh and his staff did a great job putting me at ease. Dr. Misleh is very communicative and explains everything to you so it made me feel more reassured. I definitely would recommend any one of my friends or family to go here.

I had a nagging toothache that worsened over the weekend. I called late Monday afternoon and his staff got me an appointment for the next morning. I thought I was going to have to wait awhile to be seen and was pleasantly surprised they would see me so quickly. Dr. Misleh is very professional and has a great personality. He spent time explaining my xrays to me and clearly cares about his patients. The office is very neat, clean and high tech. His staff is also outstanding. I needed a referral to a specialist and his staff called for me while I was still in the dentist's chair. By the time I was ready to leave, they had already made me an appointment for my referral for that afternoon. Now that is excellent service. They were so pleasant and really seemed to care about my experience. I will definitely go back to this dentist.
