I bought a groupon and scheduled a facial and massage. The massage therapist called out sick. Ugh. Ok, these things happen. Had my first facial, was ok. Rescheduled the massage for a couple of weeks later. (Making this two visits made me spend $11 round trip on the express bus TWICE.)
As I sat in their reception area when I arrived for my massage, no one appeared in 20 minutes of waiting. I used their bathroom, called out "hello" after and still didn't see or hear anyone.
The place is shabby and tackily decorated.
No one showed up until a couple of minutes after my appointment time. I was asked for my groupon, which of course was used the last time. Much confusion ensues, the receptionist finds my original paperwork with the groupon number. Then proceeds to tell me that they can't give me a massage as it had to be used in one appointment.
I was livid. The massage part had been rescheduled due to THEIR problem, not mine. I pointed this out. "So I'm not getting a massage today?" The receptionist muttered something about the massage therapist having an emergency.
At this point I declared that all this was bullshit and left. 3 hours and $11 of my time wasted getting to an appointment (that they called to confirm the day before!) that didn't happen.
AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. -

OH MY GOD! RUN!!! MOST DISGUSTING "SPA" I'VE EVER SEEN. Very unsanitary and honestly just appalling. I booked a massage and a facial through groupon with a friend. we were terrified from the moment we walked in. The ensemble was creepy and the music was just whack. it gave me such a creepy vibe.
we arrived 15 minutes early... yet were waiting in the disgusting waiting room for several minutes past our scheduled appointments. i'm actually grateful though... because the longer we sat on the gross couch... and i mean GROSS... the more we thought things over. i asked the receptionist to see the massage room (because we were honestly afraid of the cleanliness) she first ran down the hall (perhaps to clean up a bit first?) then when she brought us to the room with curtains... and several "massage tables" we were horrified. obviously nothing gets washed. the sheets on the disgusting beds were velvet leopard sheets. WTF. oh my god... im having a hard time even writing this because i'm afraid i picked up some bed bugs in my 20 minutes there.
we immediately told the receptionist we were running out for a smoke... and we never returned. if it would have been the owner i would have given her my 2 cents... but i didn't want to give the girl a hard time.... even though she is really dumb for working there.
STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS. i am jobless and i am in desperate need of a massage and a facial but it was so gross i wasted my money, rather than going through with the appointments. honestly.... i'd rather spend 200 dollars to never ever look into that horrible place again.
Hopefully they get shut down soon. AWFUL EXPERIENCE. -

Disgusting..Avoid this place at all Cost ..You can find better..
The Negative Ratings don't lie...
Seen this place on lifebooker, called them to verify if they used Hard Wax, the lady on the phone said yes. I booked an appointment over the phone with the lifebooker price... (Good thing I did). I would've hated to prepay for what i walked into...
The place is on the 4th floor of some small building next to the check cashing place.
when you get out the cramped elevator the front desk is right in front of you..
First i was greeted by some Moldy Odor..
I tell her i have a waxing appointment, she says ok, then waves me into what first looks like a living room with dirty furniture, then on to another room with these 2 dirty looking tables, that she attempts to cover partially with a drop cloth... eeeek
glanced around 2 seconds & asked did they have another room.. she said not at the moment and stated "the rooms are not the best but, your here for a service right..."
I told her good evening, & suggested that that clean this place up..
Made me upset enough to write this review...
Don't Go.. Check out Great Jones Spa Instead -

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! I went for a colonic yesterday and something went terribly wrong because CLEARLY they aren't trained properly. This is some soviet union version of a "SPA" what a JOKE! This place is absolutely disgusting, I'm amazed that the sanitation department hasn't shut them down yet. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!

Went for a spray tan and paid with a voucher that I purchase online for half price. The comments about the decor being dingy and dirty looking are spot on. Also, very unsanitary. They did not give me anything to put my feet on and I had to step on the mat barefoot when they tanned me. The lady who tanned me was nice. The tan itself was OK, but did not last after showering later the next day and had an awful smell. The voucher did not include tax, so they made me pay that, and they do have a sign instructing you to tip 20 percent, which I agree with a previous poster is obnoxious. They tan you in the scrub room, which was disgusting. I'm guessing for the scrub they have you lay on an exercise mat that lines the tub? I can only imagine the ecosystem that lives in that thing. I would not go back, or recommend it to anyone. It was gross.

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!
I went during Spa week because TONY suggested it as a nice place to try out. I am now forever traumatized and will never trust that magazine again.
I should have immediately cancelled my appointment as soon as I walked in and was seated in the "waiting room": an old, busted, pull-out couch, whose springs had given way long ago.
As I was getting a full body scrub in a private, shower-like room, I gazed at the shredded, silver window curtain and wondered if the mat I was lying on had ever been properly sanitized; if not, would I leave here with the bonus of genital herpes?
If you have any self-respect, you will heed my advice and avoid this den of STD horrors. -

This was one of my first Spa Week experiences. It was intrigued by the Foot Detox, but later read that it all a scam.. that all the discoloration you see in the water is from oxidation of the coils.
I went with my sister and one of the foot machines was broken, so one of us had to wait while the other one did it. They gave us a complimentary run on the massage beds because of that.
There was someone leaving when we arrived, and someone arriving when we were leaving, but otherwise, I think we were the only ones there. The decor/theme is interesting, but I'm not sure I'll be back soon with all the other choices around.
The staff was friendly, much more friendly than most Eastern European-run joints I have experienced. -

Worse experience ever. This place almost ruined my valentines day, thank god for the patience and understanding of my girlfriend. How did I get there? A gift certificate from a couple that has never being there themselves. I bought the "treat her right package" for couples and instead got the "true love" version.
First, we went in and sat for about 10 minutes in the waiting room. The 10 minutes was not the bad part, but the couch they had. I see better on the street being picked up by sanitation. The couch was old, dirty and overused. Since they were charging $240 for the service I figured that the couch in the waiting room was the worse it was going to get and everything else should be okay. I was so wrong.
We were escorted to the changing room. The first thing that hits you is the bad odor, think of dirty wet sucks/carpet/wet cat... I literary had to hold my breath and I'm not a sensitive person.
My girlfriend and I managed to change in the small changing room, which by the way, it's so small you can hardly move and you end up hitting the walls with you elbows, knees. The two white robes they had were disgusting I didn't want to put them on, but they were the only ones available.
Now, at this point i want to get out of this place. But it was Valentines day and I doubt I was going to receive a refund for the gift certificate. We proceeded to the sauna, also a small closet that you can hardly move. The heat comes from an electric heater that burns your skin cause it's right next to you. 30 minutes later the sauna is over but no one comes to get us. At this point my girlfriend can hardly breathe, five to ten minutes later after nobody is coming over to us i get out of the sauna and head to the front to try to find someone. I was told the masseuse was not yet ready for us and the lady offered another 30 minutes inside the sauna!!!! (is she serious? i thought). Instead i smiled and said we rather not. The lady then took us to the massage room but i opted to first take a shower. Surprise, one can hardly moves in the shower and they only had cold water. I gave up and went back to massage room where we patiently waited.
Unbelievably, at least 40 minutes passed by and no one shows up. At this point i said to my girlfriend that we should just leave but we didn't. I thought that the waiting was a prank to see how long it would take for us to say something about it. My girlfriend fell asleep in the massage table, we talked, she felt asleep again and then i stepped out to inquire about what was going on.
As soon as one of the masseuse spots me wondering on the floor, she apologized and explain that there was a mistake with the scheduling and that she would be in shortly. I go back to the room, waited 15/20 more minutes, the masseuse enter with her partner (the only two working) and rushed the massage. The one that was massaging my girlfriend finished 10 minutes ahead of the one that was doing me, synchronization?
At no point anybody was rude or impolite the entire service they provide is just mediocre. In short, again, worse experience ever. Valentines was almost ruined, my skin is now burned, itches and i was so upset with myself for not leaving as soon as i got there that i could hardly slept last night, so i had write this review.
By the was I was charge more than the advertised price. I honestly feel they should have pay ME and my girl for staying through the massage.
If after reading this you still go to this place, you do deserve the worse, so enjoy.

I had a body scrub and deep cleansing facial. I used my "spa Sally" vocher for the body scrub. Scrub was fine, but not for those who are modest. They dont give you the paper panties, so you are stark naked!
Facial was fine.
Please be sure to reconfirm service prices as I was charged an extra $15 for absolutely no reason! Maybe they are trying to recoup some of the cost of the spa sally special.... -

I had to go back here because I had another voucher.
I HATE THIS PLACE.
I was trying to make an appointment and asked for 10:30AM appointment. The lady who picked up the phone got all my information then told me to call back tomorrow because she is not a receptionist and she can't make an appointment for me. I called back the next day, the other lady said my appointment is already made for 10AM. I arrived at 9:45AM. This place was closed. I called and called them but no one called me back. I was right downstairs and they appeared at 10:35AM??!!! to open the gate?????
The lady left me in the room to get ready for 5-10 mins!!!????? I came back out to ask for help but no one was at the front desk for 5mins.
The facial = NO CHANGE!!
I told her I am in rush so she had to end little bit earlier for me. Then when I came back out, no one was at the desk again! I just left her tip on the desk and I was about to leave. Then she came out and asked for $18 tax, when there was no tax when I first came here and the voucher was $170 worth voucher but I purchased for $55. I didn't even want to argue with her so I just gave it to her and left.
Don't waste your money and time here. If you already purchased a voucher then your best bet is to flush that voucher in the toilet!!!!!1 Previous Review: Show all »

I came here for a Brazilian via Lifebooker and it was the WORST experience I have ever had! The woman had no idea what she was doing!! Her technique was awful and she had to wax over the same area numerous times with different types of wax b/c she couldn't understand why it wasn't working. I couldn't bare any more torture so I only ended up getting a bikini wax. The decor of the salon is also HORRIBLE!! NEVER GO HERE EVER!

So I went there for a body scrub - never had one before so it was a nice experience. Other than the novelty of the scrub, Antoinette Boudoir could work on a lot of things. I didn't notice the elevator and went up the stairs instead and I had to maneuver my way around all the stuff that was piled on each step. They should certainly buy a new couch because that couch in the waiting room is REALLY old. I was amazed at how smooth my body was after the scrub but the room itself could be updated - i.e. remove all the stuff they have stored in there. They must have some kind of service that's extraordinary because it just seems like a place no one would ever go to...

I went for a full body scrub yesterday. omg, never again. word to the wise, anyone wanting a scrub, head over to korea town. that's where i usually go, and from now on, that's what i am sticking to. First, the 'robes' they give you are NOT washed, and are ratty. they put them in "garment bags" to provide the illusion that they are clean....they're not. the slippers they gave me (terry hotel type slippers) were also dirty. i should have left right then and there but.....stupidity. the person doing my scrub, Lily, was ok and actually very pleasant. the scrub itself was in the sub-par to mediocre range. the place itself was NOT clean and in fact quite suspect. i won't even go into the other oddities of this place, but suffice it to say....stay away.

I purchased a spray tan deal from Spa Sally that normally retails for $60, thinking I got a great deal at $25 plus tax. Since I hadn't had a spray tan for a couple of years I wanted to ask a couple of questions before making my appointment. I had not heard of Antoinette Boudoir Spa before, I thought it looked really nice and reputable on the Spa Sally website. When I called them, it sounded like the woman on the phone had just been woken up from a deep sleep or coma, I could barely understand her. I politely explained that I had prepaid for a spray tan through Spa sally, and had a few questions. I asked her how long would the tan take, since I needed to know how much time to reserve since I'll be on my lunch break and coming from Downtown. Her response was "Not so long...you know..." No, I don't know how long is not so long. Is it 5 minutes or an hour? I made my appointment, then asked her if I needed to prepare in any way. She mumbled "No" then hung up. I ended up doing some online research and found out that I needed to do quite a lot to prepare- exfoliate and shave, not wear make-up, deodorant, jewelry or lotion, and wear loose and dark clothing.
When I got the the spa for my appointment I was quite shocked. I had to take a rickety elevator to the 4th floor to access the place. Once I got there there wasn't anyone at the front desk. I waited about 10 minutes, before saying "Hello...hello...I have an appointment..." A girl came out of one of the rooms, it was obvious she had been sleeping. This was about 1:30pm. She had me fill out a bunch of forms, which really didn't have any questions pertaining to the treatment I was receiving. The reception area was unclean and untidy, really off putting. I don't mind non-frill spas for basic things like tans and waxing, but this was really unpleasant. They had a couch that looked like it belonged to a couple of homeless tweakers in the 70's, really unhygenic. I'm so glad I wasn't asked to take a seat.
The girl (she didn't even give me her name) lead me into a tiny, dingy room with a strange shower table in the middle. She told me to get undressed and left the room, turning on a red light (no idea why, but it was creepy). She didn't give me any flip-flops or sticky pads for my feet, paper towels, wipes...nothing. I was told to put my folded clothes on an overturned plastic milk crate. There were open products (scrub creams) on a table by the crate, and a modly plastic mat on the shower table. Yuck. When she came back into the room she had me stand on a non-washable door mat, the type you had on your doorstep. The backing was a dirty fabric curtain. Shockingly, she did a pretty good job of the spray tan and was very pleasant and sweet. When she had completed the job I wasn't offered any papertowels, wipes or a fan to dry off in front of. Since this experience, I have been spray tanning at a tanning salon close to my home in NJ, so I finally know what levels of hygeine and services to expect from spray tanning.
Upon checking out the girl asked my for an additional $5 for tax. In NYC the tax for spa services is 4.5%, and I had already paid Spa Sally the tax through PayPal. Charging 20% extra tax is illegal. They have a sign at the reception urging customers to tip 20%. I had brought $12 cash with me, since I was planning on giving a 20% tip of the regular $60 price. Since they would only take cash, I ended up having to short her slightly on the tip which I didn't want to do. The only reason I'm giving two stars was because the girl was nice and did a good job. It didn't make up for the fact I left feeling like I needed a shot of penicilin. The girl gave me a menu of their services to take away with me. I was shocked to find out that their prices are horrendeously high. The list of services has prices in the hundreds for scrubs and massages, the whole thing is very dubious. -

My sister very recently got married...
Her wedding was extremely untraditional, which may or may not have anything to do with everything also being very last minute.
I called AB Spa on a Wednesday to ask if they could accommodate four of us for Friday.
Clara helped us over the phone and was a complete sweetheart. She told me to call her back with what everyone wanted done and she'd find a way to get us all in together. And she did!
I got the deep tissue massage, two friends the stone massage, and my sister a sensitive skin facial(Rose facial) and slimming twist wrap. All of us only had great things to say of the services we received.
I had Lana for my deep tissue massage and she was wonderful. Asked if I had any areas I needed focus on, and took care of them. Checked throughout the massage how I felt about the pressure she was giving me. Very helpful. :)
We all walked out feeling great, and I walked out feeling even better because I knew how little time I had to try to make it all happen... Thanks to the staff at ABspa for making it all work out!
:)
And actually, the prices aren't that bad considering what you are getting!!!
