This place is great. It is right in the middle of an industrial/commercial area on Harry Hines so it's easy to miss, I know I did the first time I cruised right by it. The make excellent "poboy" sandwiches. The chow chow really makes the sandwich!
New favorite sandwich shop! I've already been twice this week! A must try! -

I'm going to miss this place by my old company. It's a no frills and cheap way to get a good po' boy, bag of chips and drink. Don't let the owners cold demeanor scare you. They are nice people if you get to know them. Some people really like the relish but it's a little too sweet for me, so I ask for a light amount on my sandwich.
This place is a Dallas landmark and always worth a stop if you are in the area or get off at the new DART station by the Dallas Market Center. All you need is a $5 bill and you get a nice lunch. -

As I drive up to this shabby sandwich shop, the image in front of me is puzzling. Shabby sandwich soup with a Mercedes, Porsche Boxster, and a Lexus parked out in front. Either this is a really good sandwich soup and a front for a drug-smuggling operation. Kidding, of course.
Antoine's has quite a bit of history. It's been around for a very long time, you can tell because the appliances havent been updated for about 30 pushing 40 years now. It's funky in there.
The lunch menu is hidden around the corner next to the sandwich station. Another new customer and myself stared a little puzzled at the menu. This shit is cheap. Lunch special of sandwich, chips, drink for $4.59. No wonder they still got those old appliances, and that's cool as long as the food is good.
I ordered the Roast Beef. Right off the bat, you can tell that it's pretty fresh. I would have liked a little more roast beef but it was layered about three times alternating with the provolone, nice touch. The mayo was slathered on real nice but the most unique part was this special relish (chow chow). Whatever Chow Chow is, it's a pretty interesting relish, extremely aromatic. It's a dark brown-ish almost looks like bits of carmelized onions but it's not. All in all, I just thought the sandwich was just pretty normal, not special or the best sandwich ever.
Antoine's is being carried by its regulars and their nostalgia. It's a decent sandwich place but really overhyped if you read the previous reviews. -

Antoine's is my favorite sandwich shop. Period.
I've been going to Antoine's since I was 6 years old. No matter what day I go, the owner still greets me by name and his wife is still behind the counter making sandwiches. We're talking about 30 years later - where else do you find that?
It's the "hole in the wall" place that you want to know about. The type of place you hope your friends suggest when you ask for a recommendation. And, after you go, you'll find you crave it at the oddest times.
Go. Enjoy. Order the "Super" and get a can of Black Cherry Soda. -

This place is 'NEAT'. I've been a faithful patron since I worked @ the Infomart in 1994. The owner is a really nice guy and this restaurant seems like it was picked out of a small New Jersey neighborhood and placed on Harry Hines.
Its not much to look at, but if you're in the market for a really great sub sandwich, I don't think a better one can be found on the NW side of Dallas.
I normally get the lunch deal which includes a regular sandwich, chips and drink for $3.99.
They pre-make the sandwiches, so this isn't like a 'Subway' and I mean that in a good way. The special relish alone makes the sandwich worth the price of admission.
I like to take co-workers and friends here when we've been stumped on a place to eat lunch. (I don't think they're open past 3PM) Many times my friends have driven past this place 100 times and never realized a tasty treasure was so close. The building is next to a auto repair shop and the bars on the windows seem ominous.
But once inside you'll be greeted by the owner and every employee is friendly. I recognize many faces from 1994.
Everyone who I've taken here has become a fan and bugged me about when we're going back. Many long faces appear when I return to the office with a plain brown sack from Antoines, they're jealous! I've even had offers to sell my lunch @ a proft!
Try it, I'll guarantee it will be the best $4 or $5 dollars you can spend on lunch anywhere near Downtown Dallas. -

Like others have said, it's a hole in the wall poboy sandwich shop with loyal regulars. I don't get over there as often as I'd like these days but I count myself in that category. Every time I go the owner remembers me and we chat. My favorites are the roast beef sandwich and the original. They both have the delicious chow-chow relish. Good dolmas too, and all of that washed down with a Dr. Brown's black cherry soda makes for quite the tasty lunch.

SUPER sub !! Had a client recommend a sub for lunch here. He said it was different & very good. Absolutely true. I had a "super" sub, multiple meats with a a delish relish, dolmas & a drink. Yum to the extreme.
A hole in the wall joint but it will be a regular stop for me. -

Absolutely great spot to catch lunch in Dallas. Great location, great food and a very friendly/helpful staff. I've been going here with a friend of mine for years now. They have Dr. Brown's Black Cherry Soda which is a HUGE plus in my book. I get Antoine's Original which is several types of meat including pastrami and 2 others that I can't remember off the top of my head, chow chow, cheese and sweet pickles. Absolutely delicious. I'm actually eating it now as I write this review. Kick ass lunch special I think is $3.99 for a sandwich, chips and a drink. You can't beat a deal like that! It's always packed and there are tons of repeat, loyal customers. I'm very surprised I'm the first person to review this diamond in the rough. Definately worth a trip for lunch if you're in the area, mark my words!

I have to give Antoine's a title of "Best Sandwich EVER!". I heard this place from my bf. His dad used to bring him Antoine's when he was a kid.... First time I had this sandwich, I'm in LOVE with it :) I agree with Francette B comment about the first impression. The meats are super fresh. I love their special relish. BUT, I think my stomach doesn't like Antoine's as much as I do... I had it twice and give some stomach issue... I will give Antoine's another try... Maybe it's Antoine's or maybe it's just my stomach :) Let's hope it's just my stomach because I don't want to miss this BEST SANDWICH EVER!

Antoine's is definitely a diamond in the rough! The first impression from the outside building can be misleading; however, the sandwiches are fresh, delicious, and made to order. The special relish (chow chow) gives the sandwich a sweet kick and unique flavor. The owner works almost daily, and he is very friendly and courteous. The lunch deal (sandwich, chips, and drink) can't be beat especially in the area. The environment is casual and quaint.
