Okay, so just a precursor: I have been going to this Antoine du Chez for a while now, even though I don't live in the area anymore. For the most part, I have gotten pleasing cuts with very nice stylists, but i have never found a stylist I liked. Finally I found Jeremy, but I got a letter in June informing me that he had moved on to another salon. Cue the :( However, the letter also said that I could bring it in for 50% off my next cut. :) x 1000. That place is ridiculously priced.
Now it is October, and I finally found the letter in all my house clutter. I figured I should use it before either I moved or Antoine du Chez decided not to honor their astounding deal, so I quickly made a reservation.
Another precursor: my hair walked away from the salon just fine. The cut I got today is not awful or tear-inducing. This would be the explanation for the two stars - i feel like giving them something since I've gotten a few compliments. But here is why the three stars got taken off:
My stylist is dating a Fox news anchor, and he is very proud of that. I, however, do not need to hear about her for 90% of our conversation.
My stylist forgot my name, even though I was the ONLY person he had to concentrate on for an hour.
My stylist sprayed water all over and down my shirt. Awkward!
My stylist felt the need to scientifically explain all the reasons why my hair might turn out more curly, more straight, etc. i don't care, just cut my damn hair!
He kissed me...three times! One was a goodbye, on the-cheek thing you do to say goodbye, but the other two?? On top of my head when he finished blow-drying, and then again on the side of my head. No thank you!
And, to go along with the whole personal space thing, I felt like my shoulders were being humped. Seriously, I am a touchy-feely person, so when I have issues, you know something's wrong. I just do NOT like a strange guys crotch up against my arm. Eew.
So basically my rating is totally based upon the experience with my stylist today. But I also don't really care for their prices. All in all, I can say this will be the last time I go there. Now please excuse me while I go shower off the cooties...
