These folks are now closed. Due to a 50% increase in rent, Antiques & Collectibles At Rockaway Beach is now no more. I loved this place. Some of the dealers have made their exodus to Then and Now Antiques in San Carlos, but nothing will replace A&C for personable service and friendliness, as well as a very diverse inventory.
Take care guys, I'm going to miss you.Listed in: Great Non-Restaurants

Antiques & Collectibles is a treasure trove containing a wide variety of items--the kind of place where you can spend an hour wandering around and not realizing so much time has passed because you keep seeing cool stuff and thinking "I had one of those View-Masters" or "Wow, that's a great collection of Zippos" or "I really need to buy these six books...wait, I need more books like I need a hole in the head."
More than 60 dealers contribute to the large two-story shop and according to their website they specialize in many categories including "rare perfume bottles, watches, coins, glassware, antique furniture, maps, prints, pottery, fashion, vintage jewelry, [and] famous artwork." They also have a great collection of local history books focusing on Bay Area cities and San Francisco neighborhoods published by Arcadia (http://www.arcadiapubl...).
The people who run this place are very friendly and helpful and are well-informed about the merchandise. Definitely worth the 20 minute drive from the City. Once you're here walk the half block to see the big waves crashing over the rocks. -

They have a wonderful variety of odds and ends, great selection of old books, and lots and lots of costume jewelry. There is furnature, clothing, kitchen items and a large sale area.
My issue here are their prices. I saw many items that were marked twice as much as items I've seen on Craigslist and Ebay, so either you are rich and don't care, you should shop around a bit.
Examples: copper hot/cold pot here was $40, whereas I've seen them for $20 in the same condition. Brooches I've found on line for for as low as $6 were $20 here. Same brooche.
Be sure to go upstairs. This isn't like most places where the upstairs is lame, their upstairs is better than the first floor. You're sure to find something to tickle your fancy...just not sure you can afford it. -

1. This place is HUGE.
2. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful. If you stand looking at a piece long enough, somebody will eventually come over and tell you a story about it.
3. They have a little tea-coffee station-- complimentary, for browsers.
4. Everything in this place is interesting. Seriously. Can't remember seeing a boring display. -

One of the best antique shops I've ever visited. I bought a hardcover version of Berg's "Lindbergh" bio and an 1883 original copy of Harper's for under $5 total. There were many, many other things I was interested in picking up, but had to restrain myself. Great things at very reasonable prices.
