Call me old-fashioned or call me hip, either way I have always been a sucker for antiques...I guess you could say I enjoy the classic stuff. While there are quite a few antique shops around Central Florida, one of my favorites is the Antique Buff not only because it's in an area that I frequent, but also because it's just so darn cute and packed with the coolest stuff. This is definitely one of those shops that you go to simply for fun, with no real intention of buying anything until you find something you just can't live without...which is usually unexpected and something you can't really afford, but end up buying anyway because at the time you feel as if you just can't live without it. Can you tell I've been here one too many times?!
Walking into this quaint little shop at the end of the Park Avenue strip feels as if you're taking a step back in time. You go from a posh area of town, to a small shop filled to the brim with random trinkets, chests, frames, knick knacks, jewelry and so much other stuff. It's filled with that sort of musty yet sweet smell that only antique and thrift stores seem to have...not sure if this is a good or bad thing though. A lot of the patrons are older, but there really is something for everyone depending on your style and taste of course.
The associates are always dolls and so nice. As far as decor goes, there isn't much of one. Their merchandise acts as the means of decorating and changes throughout the year which is kind of cool when you think about it. Price wise, it's not the cheapest place...and antiques are known for being expensive, especially if it's something that is well preserved, rare and hard to find or no longer made. The items in this shop are in rather good tradition and can serve diverse purposes in most instances.
Overall, I'm a fan!
