****Best Cheesecake****
I've opened pandora's box.... these little cakes are insanely addictive.
I stumbled upon the AntiCupcake Co. almost two years ago when I was searching for cupcakes for a birthday party I was attending. Ever since, I have been following the blog and looking for opportunities to try her cheesecakes. Somehow, the planets never aligned and after some time I lost track of the company. Imagine my surprise when I ventured into Zest Bakery in San Carlos and saw that they carried the cheesecakes! I drooled over them for a couple of weeks and today I finally broke down and bought one.
They're even more delicious than I had expected!! Not too sweet, light and fluffy and velvety smooth. Plus, the added bonus for me (having recently been encouraged to switch to a gluten-free diet) is that they are gluten free. I tried the vanilla bean today but I am anxious to try some of her other flavors. The gorgonzola/fig looks especially enticing.Listed in: A few of my favorite things...

Innovation, creativity, great ingredients, and an expert magician. That's what it takes to create these delectable delights, and I'm proud to be the second person to write a review of these wondrous cheesecakes cooked to cupcake dimensions.
I met Cynthia, the mastermind behind the Anticupcake Co today, thanks to a great little gathering setup by the lovely Tracy L., and quickly procured bites of these wondrous little gems before anyone else realized what I was doing. Yes, I'm greedy, selfish, and evil that way, muaaaahaaahaaaaa!
On to the food:
Fig & Gorgonzola
- 5 stars...easy
- It takes a special kind of chef, or is it baker, to combine unique and interesting ingredients in a subtle, complex, combination the kind which the movie ratatouille was trying to illustrate with fireworks, and if ever there was an epitome of such great mix, this cheesecake is it. I'm not generally a fan of heavy rich foods, but this one I could eat over and over again.
Smores
- 3.5 stars
- To many people, I'd imagine this is an automatic 5 stars, and if I was a fan of smores, I'd probably say so too. Alas, Smores are not my favorite food, but what I can tell you is that the marshmallow toppings were wonderfully crispy and creamy, and the chocolate chips were and other ingredients really brought out the smores essence in a tasty and beautifully presented glass bowl.
Orange with lime zest
- 4.5 stars
- This is definitely my second favorite after the fig & gorgonzola. A nice creamy and rich center with a hint of lime, along with a a perfect crust, topped with an orange sauce mixed with orange grand marnier. Oooooohhhh yeah. This is one seriously yummy delight!
Peanut butter with chocolate ganache
- 4 stars
- I'm sorry...did you say there was cognac in here?!?! Am I allowed to drive after this cake extravaganza? Peanut butter and chocolate have always gone great together, but this fantastic little cake does it right with flare and panache. Would I eat it again? Definitely. And that says something, because chocolate has never been a favorite of mine.
Pumpkin and candied pecan
- 4 stars
- Some folks may find that the pumpkin flavor lacks the depth of flavor of a pumpkin pie, but I'd argue that this cake keeps the pumpkin from being overbearing as it combines wonderfully with the candied pecan, creamy cheesiness, and granola sweet crust. It's a little more subtle, for a little more sophisticated palate. The thick crunchy caramel crumbles on top were an excellent addition to this otherwise soft addition, tho maybe the sweetness of the caramel drowned out the other flavors, causing the perception that the pumpkin flavor was a little too soft to some.
Sadly, while I don't hate coconut, I'm not really a big fan of it, so with my tummy happily sated, I refrained from sampling this particular cake.
All in all, AntiCupcake Co has proven to be masterful at making cupcake shaped cheesecakes with masterful blends of tastes to keep just about anyone's palate happy and hungry for more.
With that said, all that's really left to say is:
Woohoo! [This is] As good as it gets! -

This ties into my review of Zest Bakery. YEAH! Gluten free?! Bought a couple of the mini cheeses for my hubby's birthday and they were delicious! I used to love cupcakes but it seems to have been a little (or a lot) overdone. It's like listening to your favorite song that is played thrice an hour, every hour. Yup, I said thrice.
NEVERMIND. Shake it up. Try something new, but that is still a classic.
Here's what I got for the birthday festivities:
Black & White Tuxedo
White Choco Raspberry (this one had gluten I think - they're all labeled properly so there's no guessing)
S'mores (pictured)
Best part is they're mini so you can enjoy with just a mini amount of guilt!

Forget about diets and working out long enough to enjoy a mini-cheesecake from AntiCupcake Co. Any of the flavors here are more than enough to get your mouth watering for the delicious creaminess of cheesecake.
I picked up about two dozen mini cheesecakes in all sorts of flavors as presents for my staff. Luckily, I saved a S'mores cheesecake for myself but the blueberry cheesecake (seasonal) was AMAZING and so good that I couldn't help but eat it all in a single sitting.
My staff was super happy with their gifts and totally enjoyed the deliciousness that AntiCupcake Co delivered in a mini cheesecake. I think I was the most loved boss on site thanks to them!
I'll definitely be back for more! -

As I've said before, I sooo don't get the cupcake craze. But let me go on record as saying I soooooooooooooo do get the cheesecake craze that I predict will soon be sweeping the Bay Area, if not the nation, because of the AntiCupcake Co.'s palate-pleasing wares.
Thanks to a generous Christmas dinner guest, my family and I received one of Cindi's large cranberry with cognac and chocolate cheesecakes, plus a small version of her gorgonzola with fig creation. Both were amazingly delectable. The bite-size slices of the gorgonzola cheesecake balanced savory and sweet. The cranberry cheesecake, though definitely sweeter than the gorgonzola, struck the right sugar chord. Every pleasurable bite melded the creaminess of the cheese filling with the pleasantly tart sweetness of the chocolate cranberry cognac topping and the addicting graham cracker crust.
I can't wait to try some of the other flavors, and I'm thinking that ushering in the New Year with a new flavor might be the perfect way to start 2010!
Note: AntiCupcake Co. is currently an online-based business with deliveries arranged in the SF Bay Area. Be sure to check out the website: http://www.anticupcake.... -

It may be a new food movement, it may be the economic downturn, or it may be my growing network of foodie friends, but have you noticed how many small and specialized food producers are out there now? They are making tasty and creative treats, with a focus on quality using local and fresh ingredients. No preservatives, no shrinkwrap, just great food you had better eat soon after purchase, but that admonition is not a problem since everything is so good!
The anticupcake co. is no exception. Born out of a desire to fight against this weird cupcake craze sweeping the nation, Cindy focuses on mini and regular-sized cheesecakes with creative flavor combinations. For a list of some of her concoctions with great notes, see Tetsu N's outstanding review. I, of course, loved the s'mores, partly but the fig and Gorgonzola is the one I'd go back for first. You just don't find this anywhere and I think it would be a great conversation piece, as well as a tasty dessert at some dinner party in the future.
I have also had some of Cynthia's cheesecake ice-cream (working with the her sister has definite perks!) and dang was this rich and good. I even turned half of it into an Affogato, which made an amazing afternoon treat when those sugar demons come knocking at your cubicle.
Disclaimer: the owner is friend of mine, but all of the above is true and the cheesecakes damn tasty! -

Hello Happiness.
I went to the AntiCupcake Co cheesecake tasting at Sent Sovi and Cindi blew my mind away again! Not only does she have delicious new flavours, but the perfection of the wine pairing on Sent Sovi's behalf, the charcuterie spread, and the amazing sweets made me do cartwheels in my mind.
Eggnog Cheesecake
Gorgonzola with fresh fruit
Java Chip
Vanilla Bean
Citrus Lime
There were sooo many more flavours... (and she does gluten free too!)
It was awesome to see all the passionate foodies gathering around the cheesecake. Sighs! Happiness. :)1 Previous Review: Show all »

Did not have any time to review this business and its owner, Cindi, since I had way too much fun sampling their fantastic "personal-size" cheesecakes. If you have a cheesecake fetish like myself, you are missing out if you haven't tried Cindi's creations.
First I need to comment about my encounter with Cindi and her cheesecakes. A friend had somehow found a picture of AntiCupcake Company online, and commented to me about it.
I remembered her birthday a day before she was leaving for a trip, and decided to surprise her with some of those for her departure and the plane ride; so basically I called Cindi the day of and asked if I could pick up.
Cindi made special provisions and It worked beautifully. Since I wanted to give and also try myself of course, I had to order doubles:)
Here is my review of what I tried:
JAVA CHOCOLATE CHIP:
I love coffee, and liked the combination with morsels of semi-sweet chocolate, but it was not my favorite; I would give it a 4 out of 5.
CITRUS DELIGHT
I didn't know if I had died and gone to heaven:)
A margarita inspired citrus cheesecake with lemon, lime, and orange with an orange cognac glaze, kissed with fresh lime zest.
Any questions after this description??? Out of 5 I would give it a 7
CRANBERRY COGNAC with CHOCOLATE
Blend of vanilla bean and whole cranberries with a smooth chocolate cranberry cognac topping. It is definitely a toss-up between this one and the Citrus above; I alternated bites between them, ohhhhh. Again 7 out of 5!
I had a couple of others, but I waited too long with the review and can't remember; a good time to buy some again so I can truly remember the taste... -

I just received my large pumpkin praline cheesecake from http://AnticupcakeCo.com and boy is it good. Just what I was craving this holiday season. The cheesecake had just enough pumpkin not to overwhelm, and was still ultracreamy. Ohh and the walnut crumble (almost toffee like) on top provided a wonderful crunch to contrast with the creamy part. What made this cheesecake even better was that it was also GF (gluten free)! The owner said she will make any of her cheesecakes GF on request which is perfect for us since it is hard to find good desserts that are also okay for celiacs. We will definitely be ordering another for thanksgiving.

I had a small portion of one of the cheesecakes, Vanilla Bean. It was quite good. I wish I had a bigger piece, but beggars can't be choosers. I guess if I had a choice between this and a regular cupcake, I'd totally go with the cheesecake. I'll definitely try their other flavors.
