Bleh. Boring. Uninspired. Tourist Trap. Expensive. Overpriced. Boring.
Do not go here. It looks nice and cute, the location is great, but it is not worth it. How can you mess up butternut squash ravioli??? The one's here are completley without flavor. I dont know how that is possible! And they cost like $16.
The bread they serve tastes like Wonderbread. This is not italian food. It is a sorry excuse for food that panders to tourists who don't know any better.

I stopped by for lunch two weeks ago. The lunch special was wonderful! Minestrone, green salad and one of 4 entres for less than $10. I had the eggplant parmesan, and let me just say it was delicious!! The minestrone was also very enjoyable, and I don't normally even like soups. Service was nice, and the dcor is very attractive. I'm wishing I'd gone here for Valentine's dinner instead of Sunflower.

This place is great-I had not eaten there in YEARS-then I heard that it changed hands so I decided to try it again. Now mind you-I did not order a "meal", but what I had was great. Their salads are so good-just right and perfect-and their tapas menu is really just yummy. I had maybe 4 things and they all rocked it-as good as any place in Boulder. My husband had some kind of seafood linguine I think-he loved it-the pasta was cooked perfectly. They have a great wine selection, and the dessert was SO good. I do not like their coffee-and I think the menu is too large-AND I am going to have to try something with their red sauce. A restaurant is only as good as its sauce. OH!! The pizza-YUM! REally good-worth it to go there just for the pizza. The inside is very pretty. Great location on the mall. I do not know what the two "haters" that posted here had-maybe it was an off day or maybe just not a good pick-but really-to give it one star is petty. MacDonald's is a one star kind of place-not Antica. Go there and give it a try-the patio is great and I will for sure be going back for happy hour for reduced price food and drink-how can you go wrong? WAY better than Pasta Jay's-and totally different so you really cannot compare.
Awful. Uninspiring food, sub-par service, WAY too expensive. We're never coming back to this place again. This place looks nice but it sucks. Go to Il Pastaio or Pasta Jay's instead.

Agreed. Daniel is right on the money. I came here the first month I lived in Boulder. I'm Italian, and I love Italian food. An Italian restaurant that can pay the rent for a cushy spot in front of the courthouse has got to be good, right? It was EXTREMELY disappointing.
Fast forward to now. I've eaten at Antica Roma many times over the years. Why? Because as the last meal fades from memory I reason that it couldn't possibly have been as bad as I remember it--only to find that it was!
On the positive tip, Antica Roma does have a gorgeous interior, meant to resemble an Italian piazza with a beautiful fountain. Very nice touch. Doesn't make up for unbelievably subpar Italian food being sold at highly inflated prices.
One last note: Antica Roma briefly left this location, and it was replaced by a Mediterranean restaurant. It was nothing special, but way better than Antica Roma.
