We've lived here 6.5  years and we finally got to Anthony's!  I was moderately impressed with our experience although I still find a few things that detract from the overall experience.  I may revise to a higher rating after more visits, but for now, this single visit earns 4 stars from me.

The dining room is nice, if not a little old-fashioned.  It would have been a pleasant atmosphere if not for the nightclub attached to the side of the dining room, reverberating the bass drums and music through the floors.  That's the only major problem I had with Anthony's during this visit.  The bread was somewhat normal (nothing exciting about the oven-baked white bread) and the salad was fresh and good.  Blue cheese wasn't very blue-cheesy and I suspect it was a watered-down variant.  I ordered the New York Strip steak and I think it was the best non-ribeye steak I can remember.  It was a touch underdone for a medium streak, but it was extremely thick.  I always have to remember to order medium well for thick steaks.  The potato and vegetables were really good too.

My wife had spaghetti & meatballs and thought they were good.  She thought the meatballs were tasty and just a *tiny* bit spicy but overall above-average.

The price was somewhat high but the food was good for what we paid.  I will definitely go back and try it again but I'm in no big hurry as it was about what we expected.

    Plusses: Fantastic steak!
Minuses: Club music audible throughout the main dining area. Prices above average.

This was a decent steakhouse with an old school atmosphere. Nothing fancy about this place, and the prices are reasonable. Our server was garbage. She was not personable at all and obviously didn't want to be at work. She wasn't rude or anything, just not very good at her job. Again, I'd say the food was average or slightly above.

I would say we hit Anthonys about 4 times a year. It always end the same - it's good just not anything spectacular. On this occasion there were 9 of us - the food was pretty good once it all arrived.  One item was prepared incorrectly and when it came back out it was thrown together and one persons entree didn't arrive til everyone was almost done - and it was a pasta dish.

Day-trip for business, caught a later-evening dinner. Easy to find, easy to park.

Dinner: Had a fillet and baked potato, salad, and bread. The Thunderbird salad I had was pretty tasty. Baked potato was quite unremarkable, and bread was lacking. The steak, however, was great. My husband says my meal choices are an affront to god, since I will only eat my steaks well done. So, with that being said, this was the best and most juicy well-done steak I've ever had. Very tender, very good.

Decor: Wow. As a late 20-something, this was not my drawing point. I think I could hear Gordon Ramsay's disparaging comments regarding the early 1980s that time has surpassed. They seriously disembarked the style train in about 1985, but its well maintained and clean. The random later-evening weeknight I went, there was a rotary club or some local chamber of commerce type meeting leaving, and the other patrons out-aged me by a lot. However, it was a weird evening so I wont discount them for that so much.

Dance club: Okay, I didn't expect this little surprise when I arrived. There's a dance club at this location, and I think I witnessed and confirmed a lot of predisposed ideas I had about the Midwest. If you're an avid King of the Hill fan, and can recall the episode where Hank and Peggy go dancing, this was it. "Windmill HANK! WINDMILL!" I hope to god it was live-band karaoke night, because those live singers MUST have been amateurs...otherwise I'll remember to avoid the music scene in my next outing to Omaha. The dance club had quieted down by the time I finished my late-night dinner.

Overall, fantastic steak (even though I ruin it by eating it well done), other food was so-so, nice waitress, dated decor - worth a trip for the steak. Mmmmm.

On a road trip and came here by suggestion of a local lady when we asked her where to get a good steak in Omaha.

While it wasn't the best steak I've ever had, it sure beat the crappy steak I ate the last time I was in Omaha that was actually featured on the Travel Channel.

Started with the buffalo chicken dip which was pretty decent and a good start.

Followed up with a wedge salad. Generally a wedge salad has bleu cheese dressing and is smothered with bacon. This wedge had Italian dressing and was smothered with bleu cheese crumbles. It was still pretty good.

My whiskey ribeye was awesome though. Boyfriend thought it was too heavy on the sauce but the sauce was thin and delicious so I loved it and it was served perfectly.

Oddly enough, I loved my side of pasta even more! Their sauce is amazing and I almost wish I'd gotten a pasta dish but it's nice to be able to get both for one price.

Overall I definitely would recommend this place and is right off the highway so it's convenient for travelers too.

Horrible.  We asked several locals where the best place in the area to get the real Omaha Steak experience would be and several of the said Anthony's.  Well, if that is the real Omaha Steak experience then I would have rather not had the experience at all.

We started with a calamari appetizer.  HAHAHAHA.  It was worse than eating a pack of rubber bands.  It seemed like the kind of preshaped frozen microwave calamari that you would get from the grocery store.  But we forgave that since we had come for the steaks and not the seafood.  Then I was served a wedge salad that wasn't much better than the calamari other than the fact that I do think it was actually lettuce.  The blue cheese dressing was very sour and salty tasting and the tomato chunks were squishy.

When the steaks came we thought for sure it would make up for the starters, but that was not the case.  They were salty, tough and unevenly cooked.  Maybe a step above Sizzler but certainly not even the level of a Morton's, Flemmings, or Ruth's Chris.  On my next trip to Omaha we went to The Drover which is a true Omaha Steak experience in my opinion and a much better meal all around.  I would pick a chain restaurant steak from Applebee's over Anthony's any day of the week.

I liked it.  The decor is a little dated, late 70's early 80's.  It was kind of fun if you just went with it.
I asked for a caesar salad which they didn't have, but was pleasantly surprised that the regular salad they do have wasn't just iceberg lettuce, it was actually a good little salad.  I was pleased.
For dinner I had the shrimp.  They were big plump shrimp that were about 3 bites each.  I think there were like 6 of them.  They were big enough I got full and didn't finish.  They make their own cocktail sauce, which was pretty good.  For side I had mashed potatoes.  They were nothing fancy and came with a beef gravy, but were very good.
The waitstaff was great, made me feel very welcome and taken care of.

There was good music coming in from the lounge across the hall.  I even went over there to listen to the live band and have cocktail after dinner.

    It was a good time.

Someone on here said that Anthony's was a place that seems to attract an old crowd.  Because of this, we decided to roll into Anthony's a little later in the evening in hopes that the "older crowd" would already be at home and getting ready for bed.  Much to our dismay the "over 60's" were all there at Anthony's night club, Ozone, cutting a rug to the sounds of a cover band wailing everything from "American Pie" to Billy Joel.  We quickly moved into the more peaceful setting of the dining room for dinner.

While the atmosphere and decor is very 1986, the food is great.  We had steaks, potatoes, salads, and bread (very American).  The bread was pleasantly gooey-soft and the steaks melted in our mouths.  The salad was typical, but large, and the twice-baked potatoes were well seasoned with ham and well baked.

Overall, this is a place we would come to again when in the Omaha area...and we might even bring our dancing shoes.

Anthony's was where I had my 3rd consecutive steak dinner while in Omaha. I immediately liked the joint after the hostess who seated me said I looked like Ritchie Valens.  As an out-of-stater, I'm convinced that any steak in Omaha is much better than the ones anywhere else.   The prime rib at Anthony's is one of the top three best steaks I've ever had. The top three (in order) goes like this:

    1) The Drover
    2) Anthony's
    3) Sullivan's

Bye bye Omaha, keep doin' the beef right.

The food was way better than I expected from a restaurant with a giant steer on the roof! The place is huge. Diners wore everything from jeans to dressy attire.

We showed up for an early dinner. I had the Whiskey Ribeye ("A twelve-ounce cut of ribeye marinated in a Kentucky Bourbon and flame broiled to your specifications") and it was one of the best steaks I've ever eaten.  My main concern was that the steak would be inferior and masked in sauce, but it was actually RARE and so tender and juicy with perfect grill marks. The bourbon sauce was very tasty.

You get a lot of food with dinner: bread and butter, salad or soup, herbed rice or potato (baked, twice baked, hashbrowns or fries) and your choice of spaghetti, mostaccioli, or vegetables.

The pot roast also got high marks from our group (my steak was so good, I didn't pay much attention to what everyone else ate!). The menu is pretty traditional, with some unusual items thrown in: whole catfish, walleye pike, etc. There's a large wine list.

The service was exceptional--our waiter managed our party of six without batting an eye and was very attentive. The water person came around a little too often, though.

As I mentioned, we were there for an early dinner, so there were quite a few older, retired types who looked like regulars. I would definitely go back.

My husband & I are in town for the weekend.  We really wanted a good steak, so we asked the concierge where to go & she recommended Anthony's.  It did not disappoint!  We both had the Whiskey Steak, which was cooked to perfection & tasted wonderful.  The twice baked potato was also good (salad was a typical garden salad).  Even though we went on a busy night (Saturday night), the waitress was very attentive.

The next time we come to Omaha, we will not hesitate in going back to Anthony's!

Went to Omaha on business Monday.  Drove around and all I saw was chain restaurants and we were thinking, we're in Omaha, there has to be a steakhouse nearby.

We were told there's a lot of places to eat on 72nd Street, we drove and drove and nothing appealed to us because it was all chains.  I was just about to give up and turn around then at the light, I saw the big bull sitting on the restaurant.  Yes, we YELPED!!!

We drove into the establishment and was surprised how big it was.  Looked like a bar is connected to the restaurant with a separate entrance so we looked around and saw quiet a few cars at 4:30 pm.

We walked in and we were welcomed by someone who probably started working there when she was 18 but she gave us a heck of a smile and directed us to the hostess.  Well, the hostess was very friendly and took us to our table right away.

Our server came over quick and told us about the specials.  We didn't want to eat anything bigger than 6 oz but the smallest size they had was 8oz.  Spoiled Californians!!

The meal comes with a salad/soup and choice of potato or veggies.  Karen got the twice baked potatoes and I got the risotto.  We both enjoyed it.  Our server was very attentive and they kept filling our water glasses every time it was half empty.  Our steaks was cooked perfect to our liking.

For dessert, we had the chocolate and marscapone cake.  That was yummy!  Very moist and not too sweet.

Based on a large group event, my favorite things about the meal were in this order: bread (yummy rotella's!), salad, green beans (with almonds!), smashed potatoes and (finally) the fillet... Which was beyond well done on the ends and much too rare in the middle.

It's probably not fair to base my opinion of Anthony's on a mass-produced meal for 50 or so, but the food I've had here in the past hasn't ever made me want to dine here any other time.  I did, however, appreciate the recent remodel, which really classes up the interior.  I still prefer the exterior though.

May be I'm a fan of swing dance, my body takes me to this place occasionally on Mondays where they have live music playing old
american jazz and classic music. lovely setting i should say. bar right infront of the stage. foodwise i haven't tried much but their taco is THE BOMB. 4 for 6 bucks and its worth every bite. then there are older people who adores your for keeping the tradition of swing alive. may be that takes me back there more than anything else........

Pluses: Live music, nice setting and nice people
Minuses: Wish dance floor was bigger.

This isn't a bad steakhouse, just a little ordinary. I ordered the burger and it was fair. The side salad was fresh. The service was a little slow, but we weren't in a hurry. Our waitress was pleasant and friendly. Overall it was not a bad experience.

I cannot rate anything but the filet mignon and fried chicken-

However, both were excellent. The steak was cooked just right, but I have to admit the fried chicken surpassed all expectations (my favorite).

Now everytime I go, I get the four price chicken dinner, which consists of one of each peice, with a choice of vegtable and salad- for right around 10 bucks!

We were on a cross country trip, looking for someplace to have a steak. Found Anthony's on Yelp.

The Beer Cheese Soup was awesome! 1 star added. The bread was soft, just how I like it. 1 more star added. Otherwise, the place kinda sucked. We each had the prime rib. It was cooked the way we asked (pink), but it didn't really melt in your mouth. We had twice baked potatoes, and they were very dry. They pasta... Ugh. Sauce was watery and non-eventful.

This was definitely the place for the over-60 crowd.

Would not go back. Except for the soup.

Went here for lunch. Wasn't too impressed.  Ordered a Cali Chicken club.. Chicken, bacon and guac. Sounds good right?.  Ended up getting a regular club.  Sent it back.  Ended up getting a chicken club with mayo instead of guac. They screwed up the order twice.  I didn't want to try for a third strike.

This is another place close to where I work. I have to honest though, I have been three times in nine years. The first time was in 2000. What I remembered stuck for years apparently. It was very dated and smelled of cigarette smoke. I do not even remember if the food was good or bad. I guess I didn't think that much about it, just didn't go back for years. About a month ago one of my office pals suggested we go there. It was a surprise to me. It had been completely remodeled and had a nice clean feel to it. I had a club, which tends to be my normal for lunch when available. It was a good club and the fries were great. The service is friendly and fast also. Last week we decided to go again. I had the BBQ pulled pork, which is another lunch favorite of mine when available. It was one of the best I have had in a very long time and again the fries were great.

Anthony's is now added to my rotation of good places to have weekday lunch. I will give dinner a try sometime and update this with the results.

Again, yelpers helped me choose a popular steakhouse in Omaha and I was not disappointed.

I was really happy that Anthony's was opened on a Monday at 3:30pm. My husband and I were the only people in the entire place so I appreciate that the servers and other employees were not cursing at us for coming at such a random time.

I'll make this short and sweet. The steak - in whatever form - is definitely a superb experience. I have the top sirloin dinner, which I loved so much I forgot to take a picture of my plate for facebook. Oh well, the big and gawdy cow statue at the top of this place had to do. My SO had a steak sandwich, which was also good. Funny, he enjoyed the fries way more than the steak, but thought both were well worth the out-of-the-way trip to Nebraska (we were on our way from Iowa to SD).
We also have an appetizer called ' Little Bites' or something to that sort. It didn't look appetizing at all when it was brought, but these little pieces of breaded steak were the star of the show. And even crazier, the asian sauces served with them were amazing. That was totally unexpected - really happy that all the food at this place more than satisfied my expectations. Only thing I wasn't crazy about was the too salty gravy and the super dim lighting.

Maybe it's not fair to judge the quality of food served in a banquet setting, but I am. For perspective's sake, we were a group of 45 or so ready to enjoy a high school reunion. Not mine, my husband's. Cash bar, round tables. Dreary room, with a super cool frosted chandelier. It's 7:00, dinner to be served around 7:15.

Place cards weren't even at the tables when an already dressed boring iceberg salad was delivered to each seat. Our party, feeling a sense of untimely urgency, made their way to the tables and sat down. Not too much later, a waiter came around to confirm our selections that were preprinted on our place cards. I had previously selected a filet. The waiter said, "filet, miss?" I answered in the affirmative and was just about to request it medium when he ran off. Minutes later, plates were being delivered and a rare to medium rare steak, without salt or pepper even, was thrown down in front of me. Blood was already pooling in my lima beans. GROSS. And yep, I said lima beans. In the veggie mix. Also, some other green things that I couldn't even identify. Like stems or something. A few over roasted and under-seasoned potatoes were scattered about. I tried the steak. Meh. Nothing. Just chewy, rare and bloody meat. I grabbed the salt and pepper. It helped, but not enough. The veggies were awful and the potatoes unremarkable. I felt like I paid $40 to eat at Shady Acres.

To be fair, my husband's lasagna was really good (which is why I went with 2 stars, and not 1). But, considering Anthony's is a steakhouse, it's reasonable to assume a steak would beat a pasta. Not so.

The waiter was nice enough. Prompt, even early! I don't remember needing my plate cleared or my glasses removed, so I'm assuming that was done right.

Bottom line: Don't. Just don't. I don't care how many cars you see. Or how irresistible that giant cow on the roof looks. Just don't.

Between Chicago and the Badlands, we decided to stop by Omaha, and a stop in Omaha would not be complete without a steak.  After some searching, we came upon Anthony's, and it was everything we imagined Omaha restaurants to be.  The restaurant is actually visible from about 1/4 of a mile away, because of this MASSIVE cow that they have over the entrance.  That in itself was my favorite part.  The meal was pretty unremarkable. I probably could have made a better steak myself.  So, Anthony's gets 1 star for the cow over the entrance, and 1 star for okay food.

Being a native Nebraskan, I have had many great steaks and prime rib.  Most of them prepared by myself.  On a suggestion from my wife who works very near by, we went for lunch on a Monday.  I was shocked how busy it was for lunch!  I ordered the prime rib sandwich expecting the normal 4-5 ounces of left over prime rib.  I could not have been more wrong.  What I got was 2 pieces of 5-6 ounce prim rib.  Juicy, fresh and full of flavor from start to finish.  I had the french fries and a side salad to start and could not have been happier.  I walked out full and VERY happy!!  I will be back as soon as possible and won't even bother trying anything else!!

I was also expecting a little more flavor or some kind of kick. service was good. tea never got below half a glass. the meal comes with a salad, bread, choice of potato and either a veggie medley or pasta. chose the pasta and was surprised. was very good. place is right off the interstate. oops, almost forgot the bread was cold. who serves cold bread? not even room temperature.
