My boyfriend and I were in Plattsburgh over Christmas, and we ate at Anthony's three times -- yes, it's that good.
The restaurant is split into a fine dining section and a bistro section, both of which have an absolutely lovely atmosphere. The first night we were feeling saucy and went for the fine dining. The menu was unreal, I think I spent about 20 minutes just salivating over it... everything sounded so delicious (not to mention the specials our very friendly waiter iterated to us)! I ended up settling on a stuffed chicken breast with spinach and goat cheese. It was quite good, but the mustard-encrusted salmon my boyfriend ordered was better.
The next night we tried out the bistro side. They have separate menus for each section of the restaurant, but you are free to order off of either no matter which side you sit on. That night I went for a beef tenderloin skewer that was absolutely. To. Die. For. I mean to say quite possibly the best dish I've EVER ordered at a restaurant, and I eat out more than the average bear. The flavors were incredible, the beef was moist and succulent, and the vegetables on the side were perfectly cooked. That night we sprang for dessert as well -- if you ever go here, do yourself a favor and try the souffle cheesecake. The raspberry syrup is a bit much, but the fluffy cheesecake just might be the best you've ever had.
The next day, we went for lunch. We again sat on the bistro side, as it is the only side open during lunch hours. I went for a pork loin & goat cheese salad that just stole the show. It didn't hold a candle to the delicious beef tenderloin skewer from the previous night, b -

From outside, Anthony's doesn't have much of a charm. That's why we always bypass it whenever we're in Plattsburgh. But, as we were running out of options on where to eat while in town, we decided to give it a try.
We were not disappointed. The food we ordered was great. My m.i.l. ordered the catch of the day (I can't remember what it was but it was good) and I ordered their clams and chorizo pasta. It's been said that they make their own chorizo and it was really good. We came in for lunch but I'd be interested to come back and try out their dinner fare because they have lots more to offer.
The interior is surprisingly cozy and makes for a great date place. Some nights, they have musicians who come to liven up the atmosphere. -

Very good dinning experience! Friendly front of the house staff and skill in the kitchen. Appetizer sausage with Mango Chutney and Dijon works. I recommend if you are in Plattsburgh!

This and Irises are the two "nice" restaurants in Plattsburgh. This one has a more formal atmosphere, serves a wider selection of meals and has two different menu selections - bistro and main. You can order off both in the bistro side of the restaurant.
I've always enjoyed my meals here. The place can get crowded on weekends and holidays so reservations are recommended. -

Anthony's is located in an old farmhouse on the main commercial strip in Plattsburgh.
There are two sections in this Restaurant. The dining room and the bistro. The bistro is casual and has a bar, this is where I go. Sometimes the restaurant has been called expensive but I think the bistro is very well priced.
The food is the best, in my opinion. The chef starts from scratch, uses high quality and fresh ingredients, local when possible. There is always a stock simmering on the stove. This is the sign of a real kitchen, the base for flavor and health.
The crowd around the bar is a mix of locals and business travelers. People are very friendly. The staff is stellar.
There is an extensive wine list.
Amazing desserts.
My only wish is that I could go to this restaurant downtown.
This is where to go for a great lunch or dinner as well as a a great atmosphere for indoor dining or drinks. -

I have eaten here twice, one was a to go order and another was for dinner with co-workers and I have to say the ambiance on the inside is very nice. The prices are a bit to high for the area and for what you get, I would call it a fusion contemporary mix of italian, french and american. The first time I had the duck breast which was pretty tasty and the second time I had the catch of the day which was very good as was their bellini's. All in all I am not sure if I would go back again if I had to pay for dinner, I would rather hoof it up to Montreal for those prices.

For Plattsburgh this is the fancy restaurant. The food menu isn't large but the food is excellent along with the service. Great wine selection and full bar. For being in this area and for the portion size I did think it was over priced.
